Recovery/fastboot/download modes howto - Realme X2 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi folks.
It seems there's not much info about the phone.
That is why let's share any useful information regarding it.
What I have found so far:
ColorOS recovery - start the phone with "Vol Down" + "Power" buttons
Qualcomm Download mode (QDL mode, 9008) - from ColorOS recovery tap a few times recovery version line.
For now I did not succeed in booting into fastboot mode. It immediately reboots into system
EDIT. 3 taps on Version string bring QDL mode (see the attachment). After first tap string turns green.

Did you see oem unlock toggle in developer settings? Try to adb via the model of the phone instead?
Also could you provide a camera2 test info in FULL mode here as an attachment please?

Hi. Bootloader not unlock now. Because you can't boot to fastboot.

New version came out today - RMX1991_11_A.11
Yea, a new version came out, dark mode is included now, security level is October 5th. The list of the changes is quite long (see it attached if interested). The shot of the update process is attached too. What "realme Lab" means is in the attachment too.

The OEM option is present, see the attachment.
The second part of the statement about adb is not clear.
If you mean adb reboot bootloader, it does not help either. The phone boots into fastboot mode and immediately (in about half a second) reboots to system.
adb starts working only if File Transfer is enabled after USB cable is connected.

See the file attached. You are welcome.

The phone stays in fastboot mode for 0.6 sec
The text I see is
已进入Fastboot
长按电源键6〜10秒或重装电池退出
What means
You entered Fastboot
Press and hold power button for 6 - 10 seconds or reload battery to exit
Is there any way to stop there?

It's good. But where is tools for it?

Some sort of test in recovery
ColorOS recovery, tap recovery version line 10 times, a prompt pops up about nearly 30-minute test. What kind of test I do not know. It took about 17 minutes. See the shots attached.
Also it is not clear to me when tapping on recovery version line initiate QDL mode, when this test?

Installation attempt for Euro version of software
There are two documented ways to install a downloaded ROM file: from inside ColorOS (tap *.ozip from built-in file browser; boot recovery and initiate installation from there). Both fail, but the second one gives interesting result (see the shot attached; native and alien=euro files are both visible).

Realy frustating. I guess it will neuer come because of OPPO. 5 Pro can do, eventuell x2 pro can do.
The bootloader looks different to x2 pro and 5 Pro.
With the Test lap apk you will get in touch with OPPO.
What exactly the app is Ding i dont know.
I look inside the smali code but iam not a coder.
I guess we download a new Bootloader Image and install it.
Could someone from you post some files for me?
/sbin/recovery
Second one
adb pull /vendor/lib64/libapplypatch_jni.so
Have you got CN or global devices?

So, you directly tried to switch from Chinese to Global rom by using recovery! Have you succeeded yet?
I want to change my rom to global to...
Plzzz help

FYI
It seems (at least once it worked to me, though it seems quite strange) the language mix in stock recovery may be solved by format userdata in recovery.

Iam trying to unlock the EU Device 1993.
I dont think this will work.
Only China devices 1991 will work.

They have limit like 1000 unlocks per month or something like this... May it be the reason?

Mi5 dead! please some ideas!

Hi all,
I going to tell you the complete story and any ideas orsuggestions will be appreciated.
I bought my mi5 in July. It came with a fake ROM but Ichanged it to OFFICAL GLOBAL STABLE .
Since then, I used the device perfectly fine, and follow theMIUI forum regularly.
Then in November I applied for betatesting Team and theyaccepted me. As my bootloader was still locked, I tried option one from abovetutorial, so I directly downloaded in my phone the GLOBAL DEV ROM and Ichoosing the package I started using Nougat for about a month, more or less.
Then, the tragedy happened. I was in a bar, having my phonein my trousers back pocket, and I set down that way. One minute, no more. Thephone´s battery was around 70%. When I realized I quickly took it but it wasnot able to turn on… Nothing pressing power volume + or any combination… I came home and let it charging all night (wallcharger) and nothing the morning after.
I tried to connect it to my PC but nothing happened in the screen, but pressing Power Volume+ the Windowsdevice Manager recognized it as “Android phone”, so after reading some threads about bootloader issues I decidesto flash it. I requested permission and then flashed it with the latest CHINADEV version. The flashing was completed, but the phone still not turningon. NEXT STEP: Local Technical Service.
They had my phone during a week. They tried to change thescreen, nothing, the battery nothing, and I don’t know which other tests theyperformed but they called me back to tell they were not able of doing nothing.
Having the phone back at home, now I was not able to get thePC seeing it as Android phone again. Nothin. Desperate me, I continued to read in internet and found in XDA a video where basically, you open the phone (remove back, and some screws),short two pins, and the PC is able to see it through the Qualcomm USB driversin EDL mode. Then flashing IS POSSIBLE. That is true. I am able to flashing, and I have tried CHINAs, GLOBAL, older ROMs about a dozen. Always the flash processsucceed, but the phone still not turning on.
After flashing I let the phone the whole night plugged inthe PC usb. Nothing
Now is plugged again to the wall charger, but nothing.
There are many threads with different solutions, so guys, please, anyone with a good idea to try??
Many Many thanks in advanced

Read this and
Use only the versions mentioned
this device is just a chinese junk i regret bought it , just after 2 days i bought it got hard bricked .
anyway flash 7.2.4 and if phone didnt boot use 3 button ( up + down + power ) for 1 minute or more and it must boot , it did work for me .
I just got brick yesterday and followed those instructions. It really worked. I was finally able to flash china dev 6.11.10. Latest dev said just "missed hello packet".
MiFlash version 2016.04 and china dev 6.11.10 was right combination for me. I connected Mi5 to PC while pressing vol- and power buttons, then I released them. I opened miflash, selected rom and chose "flash all". Flashing was completed. I tried to power on my phone pressing power button but nothing. But when I pressed vol- and power, I was able to get to fastboot mode. Rest is history. I flashed TWRP, booted to it and flashed LineageOS again.
Hope it works for you too!

Yup..it's weird thing...i suspect there's a hardware issue too..
But anyway..did you already tried to flashing fastboot rom with QFIL (qualcomm tool) too..?, if not yet..just try it..you can follow tutorial from this youtube here , just bypassing the step for installing any driver if your phone already detected as qualcomm port in your pc.
I try this method to get back my friend Mi4c from dead with condition like this too..just edl or qualcomm port while connect in device manager, then after flashing with this tool..i've try to power on with vol up + power and repeatedly vol down method above..then mi logo appear.
Hope your phone get back turn on soon..

If above direct link doesn't work..just visit this link , then choose "Xiaomi Mi5 Global Stable or China Stable Version Fastboot File Download..
If getting error while flashing..just put extracted folder of fastboot rom in the root of your system..ie C:\[folder_fasboot_rom]

6: connect your phone & select flash all (1st option from the left, bottom of MiFlash tool)
This might take a few tries (example - you might receive "missed hello packets)
Once you're done, you can stay with the China Dev, unlock the bootloader & flash a xiaomi.eu rom, or CM.
Good luck.

Mi9 Global - Accidentally locked bootloader and stock in recovery/fastboot

Hi,
Recently purchased a Mi 9 Global version, got the OTA update to MIUI 11, and everything was well. It is a superb phone, but I like to have root on my phones (mostly for Adblocking and System2, better control overall). I tried to install TWRP (custom version for Mi9) because I wanted to install Magisk/Root or try a different rom eventually. Anyway... I made a huge mistake. After trying to reboot, I noticed things had gone wrong, and was stuck in a boot loop. I guess I panicked and tried to flash the phone back to the latest global MIUI rom (Version 11, Android 10, from official site), using the Xiaomi Flash App but I did not uncheck the "clean and lock bootloader" checkbox on the bottom right of the app, which is somehow enabled by default. The flash failed at that time, for unknown reason, but it seems like it succeeded in locking my bootloader, with an empty partition, except for fastboot access and Mi Recovery module. I have to admit I've always been pretty lucky with all my previous flashes on other devices, and I guess I got a little careless. That was pretty stupid of me, in retrospect.
Since then, I am stuck in either Mi Recovery or Fastboot, and it seems that my originally Global Mi 9 with unlock bootloader has now a locked bootloader. Any attempt at either using the Xiaomi Flash utility gives me an error message ("Erase boot error"), and if I boot into Fastboot and try to flash TWRP, I get the "Remote:Erase is not allowed in Lock State" error.
From what I understand, my options are pretty limited now. The phone is still powered on, stuck in Recovery mode and rebooting every 5 or 10 minutes by itself (probably a way to avoid screen burn-in?), but I can't seem to be able to shut it down in anyway, as there are no fastboot commands to send a shutdown signal. And no matter what button combination I press, the phone always ends up rebooting.
I tried the Xiaomi Unlocker utility, but it needs the phone to be out of recovery to check the credentials binding the phone to my account. All data on the phone has been wiped already, so that's not an option. Two options I have seen :
1. Open the battery cover (required a heat gun and risky), to short some pins and try to flash while there is a short to circumvent the security. I'm not that brave yet, and since the phone is still running and has probably about 80% battery, I don't want to use a heat gun on the device.
2. Shady stuff involving paying 30 or 40 Euros to a random guy who can somehow make everything work magically by remotely logging in on my computer via Teamviewer (Not happening in a million years).
I'm wondering if there is an alternative, other than bringing the device to an official Xiaomi store (I'm in Bangkok and they do have one official shop at Fortune Town), but even then, I don't know if they'll just tell me I got myself an expensive paperweight.
Any help/insight regarding this issue would be much, much appreciated!

Every possible combination on reboot will either bring me to Fastboot or Mi Recovery. I have wiped the data partition, there is no OS on the phone as of now.

Xiaomitool V2 is completely useless. The "My phone is bricked" option is not implemented, and I cannot boot into the OS, unfortunately.
To enter fastboot mode, long press the volume down key and the power key. Then unlock bootloader with Xiaomi app.

From what I understand, the "normal mode" needs the tool to be able to access the OS while it's running. I don't have an OS. I will give it a shot tomorrow (3 AM here, exhausted, and don't want to boot into Windows again!), but my hopes are not so high. Anyway, thanks for the help, much appreciated! Unfortunately, this is not true. I have downloaded an old version of Mi Unlock (2.2.406.5), which is supposed to work with Fastboot mode. The result is "Couldn't unlock --> Please download the latest version". And the latest version needs to access the OS to verify the Mi account credentials. I don't have an OS installed. So this won't work. Thanks for the suggestion though!

That's honestly one of the most useless answers I've read here.
To even be able to unlock the bootloader, you HAVE TO enter the fastboot mode and he cannot. So what you'r saying doesn't make any sense. Like at all.
I do have the same btw and I'm running out of ideas, so if anyone actually has something helpful to say I'd be very thankful.
Neither the button combo nor the adb reboot bootloader does work. I can see the fastboot screen for like half a second and then it reboots normally without even touching the device.
Edit: I just found a way to enter fastboot on my realme X2 Pro.
You have to click on "Start in depth test" on the official Realme App, which can be found here: https://c.realme.com/in/post-detail...64863306907648&subForumId=1197159778845982720

adb reboot fastbootloader
Fastboot screen will be displayed for a moment, but normal reboot will be done immediately.

I totally forgot the last setp before actually unlocking the bootloader..

I did install the testing app and i'm still having that issue where i only see the fastboot for a split second before the device reboots itself. What am i doing wrong? I also enabled developer mode - OEM unlock - USB debug.
I've flashed my device before and i've even been able to unbrick my own device after "destroying" boot image, but this is something new and it's coming from Realme and i don't appreciate it!
I'm actually looking to replace my device with something more flash friendly, what would you recommend as a good budget device to De-Googlefy?
Hey guys..I am facing the same issue. I cannot get into Fastboot mode using the key combination or adb method. With the ADB method and the unlock tool the phone reboots with fastboot written with some chinese characters for a split second and then boots up as normal.
Has anyone found any solutions?
I am on the 5th March 2021 security update.
I also suffer from the same problem, When I want to go to Fastboot, a logo comes for 2/3 seconds and then the system is rebooted.
I am also facing the same issue. Any Help?
Same here.

Question Help Qualcomm CrashDump Mode NE2213

Hello forum team,
I have a OnePlus 10 Pro with NE2213 version.
I have follow this thread successfully https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-install-twrp-root-install-magisk-bypass-safetynet.4533511/
and this thread "How to Remove Orange State Warning on OnePlus Android 13" with no success
Now i'm on the Qualcomm Crashdump mode, with no access to bootloader or twrp. How to acess to flash an other rom or reset that?
Thanks you for your help
Never trust droidwin.com. In the current situation there is no way to fix this. I think RMA is the only option.
Did a quick google and it looks like you used the OP9 method on OP10... oof. The second link on google was the XDA page in the OP9 forums, and yeah that first link is super suspect since they don't even list model number. Sucks.
Most likely stuck with RMA or MSM as only options, you can attempt to boot into the other slot but I'm not sure if that file is persistent between the two.

Qualcomm Crashdump is that you are wrong slot ... You still should have fastboot. Just hold the power button and down volume it will reboot to fastboot ... then use this command " fastboot getvar current-slot " after that use this command to change slots " fastboot set_active other "
Or ... when you get back to fastboot flash twrp to both slots ... just dont panic...like some have and tried to load boot. img and bricked there phones
Stuck in bootloop after trying to flash Oxygen OS 13 coming from ColourOS 13
I have a Chinese Oneplus 10 Pro which I received with ColorOS 12.1 Android 12 NE2210_11_A_07. It then updated OTA with ColourOS 13 .x but the Google Assistant ("Hey Google!") functionality was not working. So then I tried to flash a global rom to...
forum.xda-developers.com
Thanks you for your response Canuck and link to post, i try that tomorrow in France to obtain twrp again.
When you say "just dont panic...like some have and tried to load boot. img and bricked there phones" if i have access to twrp again what do i do? usually I will load original boot image? Or or I have to check between slot?

Question IDK Redmi 10S

Hi there.
I wanted to root a Redmi 10S device. Bootloader was also opened. The flash went during fastboot mode, then after the fastboot reboot command, the device restarted, but it only shows "Redmi" and the word android at the bottom. I tried to access recovery and fastboot mode, but powr+volD only restarts the device and only the Redmi inscription is visible.
I don't know what they call this state in which the device is.
If there is a suitable link on the forum, I would appreciate it.
Hi there!
What did you flash excatly?
I mean, did you flash the whole phone, or just a patched boot image?

What should I use to reflash? Mi flash? This is the NS
Yes... I probably mixed up the boot file in the downloads folder and not the correct received flash

Then, you don't have to flash the whole phone again, just flash back the original image, and try rooting with twrp and magisk zip file (rename the apk file from magisk.apk to magisk.zip, and then flash it in twrp)
If you can't install twrp, or something went wrong, take a full backup from your phone (like using google's backup service, and Miui backup--> it 'll save the backup to internal storage/miui/backup/AllBackup) and then ypu can reflash the phone with mi flash tool, but don't lock the bootloader back, and after flash, you shuold enable oem unlock in developer settings.
One quick question:
Did you enable oem unlocking in developer settings, before trying to flash the modified image?

yepp, enable oem unlock. But fastbootmode is required for all operations. But fastboot mode doesn't work.
What do you mean it doesn't work?
Can't enter into fastboot mode?

Can't enter fastboot mode. The device only shows "Redmi" lettering. If fatboot worked, I could have done it already. power+volume down, the device just restarts and shows "redmi".
Hmm..
And if you holding the volD and power buttons together for a longer time?
Like a min, or sth
I had a similar situation, but after a few tries it went into fastboot mode

it just restarts, as long as I press and hold volume down+power, if I don't press it, it just shows the redmi text
I apologise, but I 've currently ran out of ideas. If I can find any solution, I 'll post an answer about it.

Hi there the forgive my on my bad english and text.
The Only thing u can do is restoring the firmware by using brom mode, Look it up or follow the steps i'll give u....
First keep in mind brom works best Without the batary conected . So remove the thin cover plate at the back u can loosen it with heat , after removing the cover move all screws and remove the housing so u can disconect the batary at the mainboard .
Next u will have to install the Vcom drivers according your chipset mediatek etc.
For the Vcom drivers and install of it u can follow https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-16640.html
U must download or allready have a firmware file in fastboot format , Open up SP Flash tool and go to optionsd and select connection, click the w/o battery option and close it. Open your scatter file and than click on download . Insert your phone wile holding your volume down or up , with my device a redmi note 10s it was the up and down to getter for it was flashing the rom. this should flash your device back with a working fastboot and working rom.
Hope u will succeed...

Yep, this guy here 's got the point. If you can't flash with sp flash tool because auth fail, there's a method to bypass it.
You can find the tutorial here: https://www.getdroidtips.com/bypass-mediateks-sp-flash-tool-authentication-protection/
I also got some help from this guy's post, many thanks to him too.

Let us know how it's going with it! ;D
I can unbrick the device at any time. There is another problem. An incorrect boot file is probably being copied. After TWRP you will never enter android again. But TWRP also only loads up to the subtitle. I tried a lot of methods. Now I will try google p ex. android and make it root.
But, if someone can recommend a device intended for gaming, but easy to root, then I will buy one

If you can root it easily, then the expensive one is good for me! Normal root was not available for typical gamer phones for years. If I buy something for which root may not be available, then I'm wasting my money...
