Spigen Rugged Armor Case - OnePlus 7T Accessories

Fist off i tried a Cruzerlite case and not only was it a slightly baggy fit there was no camera protection at all, a shame really as the Bugdroid cases they used to make were brilliant. As this was being returned the Spigen case became available and it is far superior.
The Spigen Rugged Armor is an excellent fit, it feels at one with the phone if that makes sense and all the cut-outs are perfect and the camera module sits around 1mm below the surface of the case to offer it some protection, overall an excellent case that i would recommend to anyone without hesitation.

Any options for a belt clip holster?
Also what are your thoughts on some of the other Spigen cases for this phone

Sorry i have only used this Spigen case in particular but i cant praise it enough really, the fit is exceptional. The UK price for it was £9.99 and it was worth every penny really.
I forgot a link to it in the first post.

It's a decent case but do wish the back (bottom) was a bit thicker to provide a greater recess for the camera circle. At $11 on amazon it's a bit pricey, but spigen materials and fitment is top notch. 4/5 stars.

I have always been using Spigen case with my OP2 and OP5T. Their cases are perfect. This time I went with OtterBox clear case as I wanted to see the blue back. Perfect fit.

Anyone know if it is compatible with Original Oneplus 7T 3D Tempered Glass Screen Protector?
Or any of the Spigen cases are?

Case that fits, adds protection and doesn't look too bad?

Sent in my phone because the charging port stopped working, and I'd like to buy a new case for my m8.
I am looking for something that looks decent and adds protection, with support for a tempered glass screen protectors.
I had a spigen case before this for a few months and the back is already scratched and looks very unappealing now.
Does anybody have recommendations?
I've always been a fan of UAG cases aka urban armor gear http://www.urbanarmorgear.com/.
Every so often they have specials going on as well.
I've been very happy with my Trident Aegis case. $20 on Amazon and offers excellent protection. I've dropped my phone several times and the case has held up well. I've had it nearly a year now with no issues.

This, I love my UAG case.
I have a ringke slim case black matte one from amazon... Been using it for a few months and works amazing! Catches mad oil though but one wipe and its clean
Otterbox symmetry
Check out the Amazon reviews.
I bought and reviewed 3 cases here in my post. I've since then ditched the dilex as it seems a bit bulky and have switched over to a black supcase unicorn beetle with a red body since i was replacing the usb/3.5mm board on my phone. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2728080 I hope that might be some help to you.
spigen hybrid. transparent, great materials, very strong
Yup, i think UAG has one of the nicest looking tough case out there.

What's the lightest but still good case for LG G4

I have the I-Blason Clear Halo case on the phone. It looks nice and fits fairly well except for the bottom where it's not as high as the top and the sides. Goes on and off easily, even over the leather back. But it weighs 26 grams. That's a lot of extra weight for this phone. The Diztronic TPU case is 18 grams and they usually make nice cases. Would love to go bareback but I'm not quite that brave. Anyone found anything lighter that still provides some protection?

lol, I just posted about a sale on this one, it was 30 but a new seller has it for 25 including shipping.
It is about 9 grams according to the seller page, but it is bareback. I got the leather though, so that is what I was looking for. Also it looks like it is an officially licensed lg case so it should fit the curve perfect.
Once I get mine in I will do a review. I hope this helps:highfive:
Thanks. I'm looking forward to your review.
What my knowledge and experience say is that the "revolution" case is super rugged, protective and durable it has a *screen protector and is impact shock and water resistant, ( will fit leather backing) its also light in weight and very much secured.
For this situation,a tpu case would a good choice.
I've got the diztronic. While nice and adds good protection I think it's too thick and heavy. Really takes away from the elegance of the G4. I've ordered the Nilkin Nature and heard it is very light and thin. Not much if any drop protection, but added grip and scratch protection

Diztronic is one of my favourites. Been using it on my Nexus 5 for more than a year, dropped it numerous times and nothing ever happened. For the G4 however, I ordered Ringke Slim, which provides only basic protection, as I wanted something slimmer. Haven't received it yet, but if I'm not satisfied with it, I'm gonna go with Diztronic again.

I have the same case as you. I don't mind the weight too much, but I agree that it does add more than i expected. My phone looks like one of those leather couches with the plastic covering it .

Maybe so. Can you recommend a good one?
I picked up a basic Insignia™ brand case at Best Boy. Good edge coverage, snug fit and all cases should have something very close to what has been incorporated into this design -
actual textured grip enhancement on the side-edges. I've been *****in about this for years and here it finally is . . . on a low cost case.
The Spigen Exact Fit is my fave. Super thin, protects all sides. Cheap too but quality. It is a hard shell case. I dislike the TPU cases on anything other than tablets.
I had Ringke before but its coated plastic. Eventually the color starts to wear off. I had a metallic gray and it was black underneath.
The spigen is a solid color throughout.
The only thing I dislike is it is slick. I had a Incipio Feather on my G2 and it had a rubber type coating that I prefer. But Incipio isnt making a Feather case so the Spigen Exact Fit is thr best choice IMO.
I've got the Ringke Slim case. If you're looking for a very slim, not in the way case, this is a very good choice. Very tight fit with a slight lip so the screen doesn't touch whatever you put it on when placed face down. I love it since it barely adds any size or weight while still offering some protection. Only downside is it's very, very difficult to take off since it's a tight fit. If you're planning on swapping out batteries often or changing backs, this case may not be the best option.
Easy Removal and Lightweight??
This Ringke looks to be lightweight, and easy to remove. I need both of these abilities with my G4, because I replace the battery at least once a day. Does anyone know of any other cases that are both lightweight and easy to remove (I have the tan leather backed version from T-Mobile)??
The UAG is surprisingly lightweight considering the protection it provides. I love it.
Sent from my LG-H811 using XDA Free mobile app
I have verus verge, and though it fits perfect with all cuts and it is rugged and good finish. It does add a heft to device.

Looks very interesting but I wish they would tell us the weight.
Ringke Slim and Spigen Exact Fit are the same style hard cases.
I chose the Spigen because I didn't like the lines in the corner of the Ringke Slim, or the speaker cut out.
The Spigen, IMO, looks better. It also comes in Teal.

Slimmest grippiest case with a lip?

What is the Slimmest grippiest case with a lip for the oneplus3?
I want the camera to have protection but i want a very slim and not that wobbly kind of case. I mean a tpu that is tooooo soft..
Ringke then.
Spigen rugged armor. Just got it. It's slim enough and it's got the perfect amount of lip protection for both the camera and the screen. Bonus : it's a looker.
The clear Ringke Fusion is thin, but solid. It also has little 'nubs' on the bottom that don't just keep the camera bump protected, but slightly lift the whole case off the surface/table/whatever. If anything, I wish the cutout for the headphone jack was just a bit bigger. I hate cases, in general, but this one is pretty good.

I don't have any experience with either of them but I did consider them both when I was looking. They are all smooth TPU cases so expect them to have a similar kind of protection and texture. My phone has much more grip with a TPU case than naked so I don't think you'll have much issue with any one of these cases. Just get whichever one appeals the most to you.
rhino shield? grippy and quite slim
I'm using the POETIC Affinity Black/Clear - very happy with it.

Spigen Rugged Armour vs Ringke Onyx Brushed Metal Case comparison

Heres my Spigen Rugged Armour vs Ringke Onyx Brushed Metal Case comparison reviews with side by side photos
Just a foreword I've only had Spigen cases for my OP3 and its saved me a least a few time I've dropped it either at the airport or the road - brown trouser time where u think the screen will be smashed/cracked. All times walked away with slight mark/scuffs to original OP screen protectors. Fancied something different for my OP5T so went for the Ringke as well.
Look and feel
As you can see both made of same material
The back of Ringke feels unique very sandstone type texture which provides excellent grip whereas the Spigen is very smooth rubber
However the Ringke case feels much thinner so not sure if offers same protection as Spigen
Cutouts and Front lip protection
Front lip protection to protect the screen - think the Spigen wins slight extra thickness to the the lip
Extra protection for the camera both same - few extra mm to protect the rear cameras
Again both have cutouts for all key ports - Ringke also has dust covers for USB-C port and headphone jack which is actually a good thing (fluff stopping charging situations) However a big negative - very hard to access the alert slider using the Ringke due to the top lip so Spigen wins
Both are compatible with the original OP screen protector with no lift off but I think this may be due to human error as I assume applied by hand at factory and I seen some when not fully lined up with screen /front camera etc.
Costs well the Ringke is the slightly cheaper and it came with a free lanyard both premiums products but for me the alert slider access is key issue for me I will keep both and swap due to how I feel. Any questions fire away
I used the Spigen rugged armour on my oneplus 2 and 3. I was thinking about getting it for my OP5T, but I got the sandstone case when I bought the phone and that is just absolutely fantastic... probably doesn't do much when it comes to protecting the phone.. but, it looks amazing.
Once I get tired of looking at this beautiful thing, I will probably end up buying the Rugged Armour
It would be nice to see a pic of the phone in the cases...

Otterbox vs UAG

I just got a OnePlus 8T+ 5G today ( T-Mobile ) and need to get a case. For my last two phones, I have used UAG and I have been happy with them. Reading the specs, it seems like Otterbox has testing above and beyond what UAG does (milspec) so I am considering that option too, but the back of the Otterbox cases feels a bit smoother and less grippy than UAG.
Two options I am considering:
Sites-ob_us-Site
OtterBox cases, power, screen protection, and accessories protect and empower your digital world.
www.otterbox.com
Monarch Series Cases | Urban Armor Gear
The UAG Monarch Series protective cases are the most rugged and durable on the market. They offer military drop-test protection for all your Apple, Samsung, Huawei, Motorola, Google, Microsoft, HP, and LG products.
www.urbanarmorgear.com
Only $10 price difference, so that isn't a factor. My main concern is protecting the phone. The UAG seems to provide good protection and feels a bit more grippy than the Otterbox, but I know Otterbox is a known solid design.
Any thoughts on those two?
I have both. I'm kind of a case hoarder, trying to find the perfect case. I drop my phone often because my hands randomly spasm.
Which case is better comes down to 1 question: will you be using anything other than your phone in the case?
The OtterBox + glass screen protector did well. The UAG + screen protector didn't do nearly as well. It broke more often, faster.
If you're sticking anything additional in, like a thin metal plate for sticking to magnetic holders like you put in your car, it will be too thick for either case. I rather like using a lanyard and found this thin pad that sits behind a phone and had a strap coming out the charging hole of your case with a small keychain loop....even that's too thick. The metal sheet or my thin pad causes the screen protector to protrude too far out from the case. 1 drop and they'll break.
Bare phone, either will work very well.
If I had to pick between them protection wise, the OtterBox probably has it.
If you have your heart set on the UAG, I have a better suggestion: get the Poetic Affinity case. It's less than half the price and better IMO than the UAG.

A case very similar to the OtterBox but maybe with BETTER protection is the Spigen Tough Armor. It has these yellow foam pads inside, and is similar to hold. It's technically 2 pieces but in the real world it appears very very similar to OtterBox if not better.

Virtually every single case has the same flaw though: there is a very bad soft spot in the case...every case....over the ring mode selector slider (silent\vibrate\ring). Some cases it's not quite as bad than others. But it's been present on every case I've tried except 2. And those cases fixed the issue by sandwiching the phone in between 2 hard pieces:
One was a heavy as hell all metal case that's a MONSTER in size and weight, and most people will hate, but does an incredible job protecting the phone. And it uses any old 3rd party glass screen protector. Your floor will be dented by falls, not your phone! (this is currently my case).

The other is the Supcase Unicorn Beetle Pro... an all plastic case that doesn't let you use a glass screen protector, you have to use their built in thin film screen protector that SUCKS and makes the case useless. It doesn't have the so called soft spot. But the lack of glass screen protector kills it for me.
It does come with a not so great belt holster though if anyone wants that.

Over the past 8 year I’ve had 5 otterbox defenders. They all served well. My biggest issue with them is there is always going to be a thin section that always breaks over time. That all truly depends on how much it drops and how hard it drops. Some of them come with their own screen protection which can be convenient but also annoying. They don’t bind to the screen so it can cause unresponsive touches. Otterboxes do come with port covers to protect from dust.
I tried out UAG 2.5 years ago and it outlasted all of my otter boxes. And it’s still going strong. It barely even has a scratch on it. It’s been accidentally ran over by a Ford 150 too lol. Nothing is breaking on it. Nothing is warped. It’s taken harder falls than all my otterboxes and it is still perfectly intact. UAG does not come dust covers. I will point out that the dust covers fall apart and they damage your phone chargers because they always push on them. Dust covers can also damage your ports because it’s pushing your chargers on the side of them. I’ve had 2 charge ports go bad because of that. Newer phones now are waterproof/water resistant so it won’t hurt your phone just to wash the dust out. So to be honest dust covers are not necessary and are more inconvenient now.
My personal preference is a UAG + Zagg screen protector. Zaggs have a lifetime warranty. You buy one and it’s good for the remainder of the phone’s life or if you buy another phone that is compatible to it. Iphone 11 and 12s use the same protector size.
I dropped using otterboxes when I discovered UAGs. They are the toughest phone cases I’ve ever had. I even had Specks that were more durable than my otterboxes. Otterboxes cost more and seem to be a lot less durable from my experience.
