This is a good start! Thank you !

This is great! Is there a reason why you ported version 5 instead of the newer versions (6.x)? Merely curious.

Excellent, just did a quick test and photos seams sharper with gcam.
- Can you change default app for opening miniature?
- ISO setting don't work
Keep up the great work

Hi! Ma Shao
China Mainland seems to have published nw-a100 and ZX500 Series with android 9 system
Have you tried to extract the app of the player from walkman APP (W.mucis)
For use with XPERIA phones.

What's the difference between the two apks?
Settings works, great!

M-rom you make very good custom ROMs you ever going to make for Xperia 1 I use to have m-rom on my xz premium

Portrait mode doesn't blur the background or am I missing something?

Some minor diffenence in settings.
Not all settings work, have to try some times.

My observations so far are that Gcam images look more organic and with much less artifacts than the stock camera, jpg files are also bigger with more information and hold up to editing better than the ones from the stock camera. The port is definitely worth it and I hope M-rom keeps working on it.

I can't get regular photos to work with either apk. Video works, photos w/front camera work, but can't get rear camera to work. Any tips?

No idea, both versions work for photos for me (on one of them portrait mode doesn't start). I use both.

Can anyone post comparison photos between Gcam and original ?

Portrait mode doesn't work with portrait camera.

Maybe you can check if you turned the "raw+jpg" on or not. I tried this before and it won't work. Turned off then rear camera worked.

*Potentially Working* Google Camera port

HDR+ port by defcomk
Here is something that works for me:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4UT4dU4LpjJZFZnbGJ1TXVJN2c/view?usp=sharing
Make sure CAM2 API is enabled.
If you are on stock ROM it can be done by adding this line to build.prop:
Code:
persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
If on a custom nougat ROM use this module: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4UT4dU4LpjJRWY1dzBBUTdHbm8
If on Oreo custom ROM, cam2 is enabled by default.
To use the camera it follow these steps:
1) Open the app, change video resolution of back camera to 4K (VERY IMPORTANT, else there will be FC)
2) On the camera menu you'll notice it's not focusing, so switch to video mode by swiping left on the screen.
3) In video mode tap on the subject you are shooting to focus on it. ( May need to be tapped more than once, Zooming in with two swipe finger gesture helps to get perfect focus)
4) After you are happy with the focus switch to photo mode by swiping right, this will maintain the focus that was set in video mode, if not repeat step 3.
5) Do NOT press shutter yet. Lock AE/AF before taking shot by long pressing on the finger to form a circle on the screen. (VERY IMPORTANT, else there will be FC)
6) After you have long pressed, take the photo. A circle will be shown which takes 30 shots in one second.
7) Shutter will be grayed out until the photo is processed which happens in the background, you can check progress by taping the thumbnail.
8) You can take as many shots you like with the present focus lock, also repeat the from step 3 for changing focus.
That's it
Thanks to @defcomg for the port and @dhk.-(DhKDc) for the magisk module

WOW!! I thought the Google camera HDR+ was all hype. I had HDR+ on my Nexus 5 but apparently that was the old version not using the new API. I thought that took pretty good pictures but this new one on this phone is incredible. Every single thing I tried, every camera mod I could find, on any ROM other than stock, every picture looked over softened and blurry, or super grainy and still kind of blurry. Now it looks better than stock, impressively so. The color balance, focus, and sharpness is top notch. Amazing what a change in software can do to a piece of hardware.
A quick tip for people, the camera opens up with the focus set at infinite so if you take a picture of something 5ft+ away, there's no need to swipe to the video to focus. Just open the camera, long press to hold focus, and snap the picture. The camera also works in 16:9 if that's your thing.
Edit: open camera is finicky for videos, giving me reboots. Use Footej camera for quick non HD photos and videos.
Edit2: After messing around with it a bit more, it's not the just HDR+ that makes the pictures so much better, it's the new camera API. Install and use it with any camera app supporting camera2 API and the photos are much better all around.
Thanks a ton for posting this, both you, and OP.

Great
The app works fine even though it is lagging. Downloaded Playground. It blends well.
Lags and needs to be force stopped before it can be used most times, doesn't work on lock screen, crashes on slowmo, crashes on burst, randomly locks up for several seconds after taking a shot sometimes.
Not exactly "fully working".
It's basically useless since I need to unlock the phone and force stop the camera every time I want to take a photo and by the time I've done that the subject has moved.

GCam for Galaxy Fold (Snapdragon)

I actually tryed to get a working GCam mod and the best actually is the newest version of arnovas GCam mod. The pictures are more clear and sharp with less noise than with the original Camera app.
But the most important important improvement for me is the much better nightmode.
But the problem is that the UI will only work when you start the app in closed mode and when you unfold the phone without restarting the app. If you start it in unfold mode the shutter will be in the middle of the screen.
You can find all infos on the development and the downloads on arnovas tread here:

@Arnova8G2 thanks for your great work. Maybe you can help us fixing the interface on the fold.

Have you managed to find anything better? I've tried about a dozen different gcam apps so far, not comprehensively--just installing, launching to see if all the buttons/menus are in the right place, and if they're not, uninstalling. So far I've found UltraCam v3.2.3 to have the most working features (except telephoto). I'm a former Pixel user so it kinda sucks that Samsung's native camera app seems to be worse across the board, except for maybe videos.
Havent broken when use port. Mode

Gcam

I've tried quite a few gcam ports and I've found this version to be the best. The only issue I've found is the preview image freezes when using selfie night mode. It still takes a picture ok just the preview image freezes. It seems to be a common issue across all the ports I've tried.
https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/MGC_7.3.020_Parrot043_V5.apk
Yep, been using this one also. Big improvement over the stock camera app!
Default app likes to just mesh colours together and makes it look pretty bad and blurry, but this port makes photos have much more detail.
I've just tried the Parrot043_v7 version and can confirm that night mode using selfie camera works perfectly on this one. There are a lot more options in the settings menu also regarding white balance and astrophotography etc.

Yes you are right, it does still freeze. It's really strange, in good lighting the front camera won't freeze when switched into night mode which is why I thought it worked, I was in a lit room at the time. If the environment is darker, the front camera preview still freezes like it always did.
Does the GCAM port give you the option of 1080/60fps for video?
I don't have the phone yet so am not even sure what the stock camera app options are.
Thanks

Well, the port I use does have a 60fps option, but the actual video itself doesn't look that smooth.
I'm sure another port will pop up soon enough with proper support (as this one has the option to enable 4k, but really it bumps it up from 720p to 1080p).
Thanks for that, it's good to know as I purchased it online assuming it would have the capability.
I was looking at other phones with the 665 SOC like the Xiaomi Note 8t and that has the 1080/60fps option in the stock camera app whereas Oppo doesn't for some reason.

I just checked the Oppo website and it doesn't look like the camera supports 60fps https://www.oppo.com/au/smartphone-a52/specs/
Although not sure if a Gcam port can "enable" it down the track.
I realised that after I purchased it of course
The Xiaomi Note 8t added 60fps after an update so it wasn't there initially either, maybe Oppo will do the same.
GCAM sounds way better anyway so hopefully the 60fps smoothness issue gets sorted.

Haha, such is the nature of the bargain priced beast, too good to pass up so you buy it on a whim!
But yes I'm sure there'll be a Gcam port popping up to solve the issue soon enough.
Plus it launched with Android 10, bound to be updated like the Xiaomi
I believe this port works best along with Mar 2020 config file which is also in the config folder
although it's not the most recent, it's most compatible, feel free to tweak settings according to your preference if anything breaks just load the xml file.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/117YpZCBTAhj1Gno7W_2dX_RSPAfdhi3u?usp=sharing
use the mar 2020 configuration file, the only bug with this is in slo mo videos where if you do 1/8 mode, it may not work properly so you have to stop recording and restart recording then it works.
all other ports have white dot (luma) noise on front cam and fixing it by library tweaks makes textures loose detail and sharpness, and view finder hangs in certain modes.

Question Best Miui-Camera?

Hey guys, are there any miui cams?
anx is the most popular one, i guess. is it fully working? and which add ons do we need to get it fully working?
is there also a stock miui cam?
i use a gcam atm, but found out that the 2x /zoom camera isnt´t working properly(focus never correct) so i wanted a miui cam as secondary camera app.
any recommendations?
and if anx, what do i need besides anx cam itself?
thx in advance
The 2x/zoom camera is not focusing properly because it is not a 2x/zoom camera, it is a macro camera that only focuses to around 4 cm. This phone doesn't have a tele camera. If you want to use a 2x zoom, you have to use a digital one or shoot at 108 Mpix and crop.
ah, so 2x is only digital zoom? i thought stock cam had it, but i don´t remember had too many phones in my hand
2x I suppose it's a crop from full resolution or more than the default.
@L-ViZ MIUI camera has zoom up to 10x, but it's all digital, and the macro camera has its own button in the menu (Super Macro). With GCam, it depends on port, version and config - some versions show you 0.6x, 1x and 2x buttons, which represent the three cameras, and so 2x is actually the macro camera. Some versions have 1x and 2x buttons, which serve simply as shortcuts for digital zoom of given level with the currently active camera (with up to 10x available via pinch zoom) and the switching between cameras/modules is done in a different way (and the macro camera might still be referred to as 2x or tele in that case). And then there are also versions which allow you to modify the UI to an extent and rename the individual modules, in which the macro module might be actually called "macro" or something like that.
You can tell quite easily if the button is for a digital zoom or switching to a different module - switching to a different module takes time and effectively restarts the app. Digital zoom is instant, with no pauses/black screen.
@Case_ thx for the datailled explanation
have you tried using the camera apk's found on the stock MIUI? I was able to pull CameraTools.apk and MiuiCamera.apk from mine. I haven't tried them yet, I'm waiting for my 7 days to be able to unlock and try different roms.

How did you try to install the apk? with adb install?
finaly passed the 7 days probation today and was able to flash my phone to Arrow OS 11 but couldn't install MiuiCamera failed dependency on cloud-common.jar and now don't have the original rom installed anymore to get it
@~JL~ I don't think MIUI Camera works on non-MIUI ROMs anyway. That's why ANX exists.
i am using A11, which anx cam is the best and working for a11, just read someone is still using 185R, since this seems to be the best working one. anyone got newer versions and which addons were used? thx in advance
