Lost the wide angle camera button - Xiaomi Mi 9 Questions & Answers

I'm not sure if this was a side effect of the MIUI 11 update, but I've now lost the button to enable the wide angle camera.
Previously, I could see it near the shooting options, when the Photo mode was selected, but not anymore.
I also can't find the option on the camera settings.
Anyone with the same issue?

on the screen it has dots either side of the x1, it's the left hand one of those 3 dots, the x1, x2 etc...the left hand one 0.6 ultra wide
this was in normal photo mode

That's the thing, nothing is showing, not even the zoom.
Here's a screenshot:

i've tried all combo's to get rid of the zoom, the only thing that did was swapping it to macro...have you tried to restore to default in the settings?

There's something wrong since it's not the expected interface.
There should be a "live picture" icon just before the "star" icon.
Probably a bootleg rom or apk.
@mods Close the thread please.

Finally managed to get the icon, had to clear all data for the Camera App. That was very weird ?
Thanks everyone for the replies!

i'm running stock and have no "Live Picture"

I cleared data, finally got the point 6 wide, which is supposed to be wide.
However, it is not nearly as wide as before the update. I no longer can get a picture of the typical house when standing in front. Sides are now cut off. Placebo, for those that think this is wide angle, anymore.

how to - speed up your camera. (in some enviroments)

Well, i found that having -2.0 thru -1.0 EV actually speeds up the camera quite a bit. now it depends what type of lighting your in, but atleast now some interior enviroments are faster!
o and also put the white balance on the moon or the light, the picture usually looks best then.
you might notice in the picture i have it set at the smallest resolution, that has nothing to do with this, it was just an accident it was set to that.

sorry, what do you mean -2.0 thru -1.0 EV? I would like to try it
I'm guess the megapixels.
EV stands for "exposure value", also known as "stops". The Kaiser, as well as most point and shoot digi-cams, goes from -3.0 to +3.0 in half step stops.
ooo snap.. nice.. It kind of works but ya depends on lighting ..:-(
Thanks !
Sorry, just went through the entire menu system on the camera and couldn't find anything resembling "stops" or "ev". Anybody know where to find it?
I have a Tilt.
When you open the camera app, at the bottom of the screen (on the left if you hold the phone upright) there will be a little "handle" that you can click on. It's dark grey in color. Click on that and you can adjust the EV value there.
Works great for me. thanks man

When you decrease Ev, shutter speed (Tv) automatically increases. At the cost of getting more speed, your picture will be darker. No problem, just use your favorite editor (photoshop) to increase the exposure again (using +Ev, Levels, or Curves). However, doing this will make your image noisier (more grains) and losing quality.
Vice versa, increasing Ev will decrease shutter speed. It's cool that cell phone cameras are beginning to offer adjustment settings. Most advanced camera will let you control EV, Av, and Tv and lots of other things independently, but only advanced users will touch those settings.
updated the first post, showing what EV is, for those who weren't sure.
Also If you go to Camera settings which is South east (corner right bottom) and then select the second page, select the Adjustments and in there you have another option which is to Sharpen more the image.
This also helps a lot.
I'm still trying to understand the Resolution mixing it with the lightning balances to have a nice fast snap shots indoors and outdoors.
Any help will be appreciated.
I can confirm that this does help a lot on my phone. I tested it at the UNLV vs. Arizona game last night. The pictures came out suprisingly well. Granted, it is a well lit indoor area. But I didn't see as much screen lag as usual.

Okay, viewing my own attachment picture from my computer right now and it looks nothing wrong :crying:. So this is screen problem, not the display, so screen capture is useless...
Try taking a picture of the screen with a camera.
Are you meaning like an image retention issue (where previous screens are still "showing through" what's currently being displayed?
(For example, you'd see a faint image of your homescreen when in the Settings panel)
Sorry for the late reply, been too worried about not able to get my RMA...

I did try to take some pictures with my phone camera, but the screen had too much reflection that it's hard to tell from the pictures.
However, I did found Androidpolice had a good report on it with same issue and they were having hard time taking the pictures too

Yes, I believe is the retention issue and worse. My screen got worse each day before RMA came. Screen is pretty much in a VERY BRIGHT LIGHT ( I wouldn't even call it color white because it's really just shinny light) stage before I even unlock the screen. All the light seems to begin to go away after about 10-15 mins of screen use time, then the display will only showing some few "ghost" problem between screen to screen. Maybe this something to do with IPS been too cold? Need a warm start like my old car? lol..j/k
I did made a video of it on that first night it happen, hopefully it will provide some kind of idea how it looks like.

So I called Google on 7/29 for RMA, and got my replacement on 8/2. So far crossing my finger on the second Nexus 7 from Google.....Thanks.

Huawei P10 Leica Dual Camera Watermark

So I've found that all the photos I've taken with my P10 have a watermark in the bottom right that says "Huawei P10 Leica Dual Camera" I've tried swiping from right to left and changing the watermark settings, as well as looking through the camera settings, but I can't seem to find an option that turns it off. I saw another thread for the P9 that says you need to root your phone to disable this from appearing - is that correct? If so I'm pretty annoyed, even though this phone is freaking awesome, it seems a bit intrusive to root the phone just to disable this option.
Example:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

Ther no setting for water mark on mine, you just have to select other camera mode and the water mark is disabled, i'm usually on photo mode or night shot.
Hmm... Strange, I am on photo mode.... I open the camera, swipe right, and the photo icon is highlighted...
You don't have this option?

I just realised I also have that, but it's turned off.
Strangely, no, I don't have that option. However I noticed that some of the photos I took when I first had the phone didn't have that watermark. So I swiped left to right to bring up the camera settings, scrolled to the bottom and clicked restore defaults, and tested. Now that watermark is gone! I have no idea what I did to get it there in the first place as that was before I'd even played with the watermark function at all, but restoring the camera defaults did it for me. Thanks for all your help guys, really appreciate you taking the time to offer suggestions.

I want to enable this option but I don't know how. Any help, please? Thank you!

Create beautiful panormas?

So, I have the Mi9TPro with LineageOS and the ANX Camera.
I tried to make some panorama shots, but despite me holding the phone very stable and having good light conditions, the panormas still end up pretty choppy.
Are there any settings I can fine tune or different apps I can use?
The phone has a good camera, so I am sure it must be possible to make some decent panoramas too?
This is panorama shot from factory ROM and factory camera app:

My panorama shots dont even looks closely as good as this one. They are all choppy and distorted on the parts where the frames are connected.
I am using AnxCamera 158.

Can I ask, why did you install custom ROM? Is it much better then factory? I'm using factory ROM with NOVA Launcher.

I have done a few panorama pictures with the standard photo app and some Photo Sphere using a recent gcam by Urnyx05. The phone is running the latest xiaomi.eu beta. I always use a tripod for panoramas (and for night shots).
I am uploading them there https://yadi.sk/d/nZsnB5lPtvsMkw
Some are acceptable (as long as you like the distorted tripod on them), some not (where there are power lines that are cut in the sky). I guess that the sensor was not aligned with the vertical tripod axis.
Try to watch the photo sphere pictures on your phone. It follows the rotation of your phone.

Question Gallery app missing face editing features as on previous One UI?

Hi. Just noticed on my S21 Ultra I don't have the 'face' icon in my gallery app after you click edit (the pencil icon). On One UI 2 it used to have a face icon at the bottom where if you selected it, you could remove blemishes, red eye, etc - I think it was called a 'spot fixer'. Has this been removed now on one UI 3.1? It was only launched as an update in April 2020 from doing a Google on it. Have attached a pic showing it next to the T icon on the toolbar.

In photo editing mode, just keep on sliding from left to right on the option bar and you will find the face icon with all options including spot remover (blemish).

Thanks for the reply. I definitely don't have this on my S21, do you? From left to right in photo editing mode I have crop, filters, brightness/contract etc adjustments, emoji, drawing tool, and finally text option - i have seen examples (like the one I posted in my original message) the face icon after the text option, but this doesn't appear on mine. So, I guess is it just mine or does anyone else's S21 have it missing too?
Just to add a friend of mine has a Note 10 on One UI 3 and the face icon is not there either, but it was on One UI 2, so it looks as if this has been removed (for some reason) unless anyone can say any different.
have it on mine. obviously make sure there is a recognizable face in the pic, otherwise it doesnt show.

Yeah you're right, just tried taking a new selfie and its there, but it doesn't show on certain other pics (even if the face is clearly visible, and in fact the face is the the main part of the photo).... but ok, I appreciate your help.
is someone actually using the photo editor from the initial software? omg, I usually download some apps to make my photos look beautiful
