Purple screen glow when pop up camera is activated - Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro Questions & Answe

Hi
I'm facing a problem with my mi 9T Pro.
After this update (10.3.3.0 PFKMIXM), when the pop up camera is activated, it shows a purple glowing on the display, next to it.
If i turn off the led of the pop up camera in the options the problem stop.
Is it a software issue or hardware issue ?
The same proble have already be mentioned here: https://c.mi.com/thread-2596121-1-0.html
Does anyone else have this problem?

It's software related, no need to worry.

It is basically a sort of animation they use when the camera pops up.

Are you sure?
I was really worried.
If it's really some kind of animation, it's ugly, it really looks like a flaw.

If you observe carefully, you'll see that when it pops up, the animation is different in comparison to when it goes back. So, if it was a software issue, ideally, both times the effect should have remained the same.
Also, if you feel it's damaging in the long run, you can always switch it off in settings under *Special features*.

If it was a flaw then everyone of us running 10.3.3.0 are experiencing this, also if it was a flaw disabling it wouldn't make the problem to stop occurring. Anyways, I love that animation though lol, and you don't have to worry, its a feature.

This same goes to Redmi k20 Indian Unit
I am facing the same issue. Purple colour glowing on screen making me worried.

you can turn it off, its animation effects, go to special features- front camera effect- visual animation

It's obviously an animation guys..

[Q] After JB update,I see about 4 very small bright pixel on the screen.

Though these 4 pixel dot only visible when brightness is at 60% and specially visible when background color is black. Can Dead Pixel Fixer app fix it? or I have to do something else.

see if it's a hardware problem first by taking a screenshot and seeing if you can see the pixels in the screenshot. If you can, it's a hardware problem, if not, then I guess you can solve it somehow, either with that app you mentioned or flashing a new firmware

I took screen shot, there was no problem in that picture. I tested many things, and the result is - the dots are only visible in Black background when brightness is above 50%. Otherwise its not visible at all. Phew....... That's a relief :victory:

OOHH woops I meant if there are dots in the screenshot, it's a software problem, and if there aren't any, it's a hardware problem

[Q] I have an unusual camera problem.

I'm hoping someone here can help me fix this. I want to try all of my options before sending my phone to HTC.
My camera won't focus. I'm sure it's tied to the OIS. Something is locked in the wrong position.
This isn't a problem that I've always had. I'm not sure when it happened.
The camera attempts to focus, but it's always off. I can actually improve it, sometimes, if I move the phone slightly just after hitting the shuter button.
Unfortunately there is no way, that I have found to re-calibrate. Does anyone have any ideas?

Mine has the exact same problem. I don't mind the purple tinta but this really annoys me and there are no repair stations in Brazil.

Have u tried installing a custom ROM? It will help to identify whether its a software or hardware issue.

mi5 diminished parts of previously opened apps remain stuck on screen.

hello to all,
So I've recently noticed this happening on my mi5 32GB variant. Whenever I close an app, after using it for sometime, a diminished part of that app remain even after closing it.
for example, if I use FB app for sometime and when I close it and go to homescreen, near the upper part of the screen I can see the diminished part of the FB app ( the upper part of FB app) even after closing it.
This can be viewed better if I go to recent apps screen. Since it has a greyish background the image can be viewed better. This is more prominent in the upper corners of the screen, but it also visible on the lower corners as well.
This happens when the phone becomes hot after working for sometime. If I leave it locked and idle for sometime, that image fades away and everything becomes normal. But if I start using the phone again for sometime, the problem comes back.
I kind of think this is something wrong with the lcd panel because if I take a screenshot (of the homescreen/recent apps menu when the problem persists) and view it through the PC it looks fine.
I've flashed both lineage OS and xiaomi.eu ROMs and this happens in both of them.
My phone has a LGD panel.
If anyone here has previously encountered this problem or if anybody have any idea about why this is happening and/or whether there are any solutions for this, I would really appreciate your help
I think its called a screen burn issue. Dont have a solution though

right ... I suspected something like this coz it happens only when the phone is hot. I didn't knew the correct term for that ....
thanks for the reply buddy. appreciate it
It's image retention. Which happen quite frequently on ips display made by LG. Many LG's flagship also suffer this symptom. The only way you can reduce it is by reducing the amount of RGB(Red green blue) colour profile by 5-7% though only doable in LOS.

Look under display calibration and change your RGB values accordingly: R: 93% G:93% B93% . It works like a charm :highfive: I use LineageOS although not all ROMs have this feature.

thank you both for the help :good:
I flashed the LOS latest build and adjusted the RGB according to what you've said. Let's hope it does the trick. :victory:

yeah use the LOS 14.1 and adjust the RGB to 90. I suppose it hides the retention effect. To fix the problem completely, I think the only option is the replace the screen.
some people are using KCAL which essentially provides the same options( and more) but keep in mind that it needs root access and kernel modifications.

Screen flickering

Hi guys,
My phone's screen is very mildly flickering . Very mild . It's like light blink. It happens mostly with white screen background . It is quite a concern cos am worried this might become worse as time goes by . Anyone knows what's causing this and a possible fix ? Btw this happens in safe mode too
Pls someone reply
It sounds like a hardware issue, I would take it to a Samsung Store and see what they can do about it.
Mine just started doing it, but my note 8 is already gonna be shipped to them to fix the burn-in issue im having. Hopefully it will fix the flickering aswell.

Hmm I too feel the same but it is only very mild . Only when observed very closely the flickering is visible that too happens only in white screen

Doesn't look like a burn in issue for me . Looks more like something wrong with ambient light sensor.

Ghost touches

This is a pretty big issue that blue up on the OnePlus forum and Reddit. People are experiencing ghost touches in apps. It's very easy to also experience this by opening cpu-z and letting it sit there for a minute or two not doing anything. It seems not everyone is experiencing this though. I have tested and do experience it. Do you?
Yup. Mine does with cpu-z open. what do we do?

Depends if it's a hardware or software issue. Personally I already submitted a return request with OnePlus.
I just cancelled my order.. hopefully there is a software fix for you guys
This only happens to me on cpu-z and not in any other app. So I guess a future software update is gonna fix it.
Left it for a minute and didn't notice anything. On 9.5.3, bootloader unlocked and patched boot image with root.
I haven't experienced in a few days, it was happening a lot until I disabled pretty much all gestures.
I installed CPU-Z just to check on my International 8GB/256 model and I've got no issue with ghost touches. Not sure what is causing this for you all, but I do hope it is sorted out for you all.
When I turned off NFC the issue went away for me glad I don't use it whatsoever haha

Well that's not a solution disabling a useful feature to not have ghost touch issue.
On screen/off screen gesture are one of my favorite using it, so not a solution to me.
Simple will return the device.
I haven't order yet but i will next couple of days.
There's many reports across oneplus forum.
https://www.androidpolice.com/2019/...ros-are-suffering-phantom-touch-input-issues/
I left CPU-Z running for at least 10 mins.
And all is OK. Maybe it's a rouge program or something to do with the unlock\twrp?
The only way to be sure is to reset to stock and only install CPU-Z
Seems OnePlus using Novatek panels https://github.com/OnePlusOSS/andro...input/touchscreen/oneplus_touchscreen/Novatek
Poco F1 had same problems with Novatec and only way fix it was replacing whole panels, they tried to fix over updates but witout luck

Wow that's seems real bummer.
Why would OP use Novatek display controller since had bad reputation and bad track record.
So the question is how do we know if all that units effected having all of the them Novatek display controller?
Or if there's another supplier for those units that don't have that issue.
Man things are getting much worse if it's hardware related and not software that I thought.

It's extremely annoying it has happened to me a few times even when I was boasting about the new device to some colleagues at work. I thought it was me at first until then I read IRS an actual thing. I won't return it yet but I might if it's not sorted soon. It's extremely irritating.

Looks like ghost touches are related to NFC. Try with NFC turned off.

Can confirm. My Ghost touches seize when NFC is disabled.
Sent from my GM1913 using Tapatalk
I've started yesterday experiencing that ghost touchs and also screen not responsive to touch in some panel sections (mostly the upper right zone). The phone didn't gave me that problem since I bought. I noticed when this happening, pulling the notification bar down to the tile settings makes that zone work again. Same thing happened when that random ghost touchs happens.
Didn't had any problems, don't use NFC, tried turning it on, ghost touches started appearing on cpuz, but not on other apps. As i don't use NFC i probably won't return the phone.
I just tried with CPU-Z and a few seconds after starting the app, the screen turns crazy tapping here and there. Can confirm also disabling NFC solves it.
Turning off nfc or not using gestures or not using cpuz app is just temporary solution.
And there's multiple reports that ghost issues happening other app too.
And we never know if thing get worse over time.
I'm afraid it's a more common issue than we thought but many users simple didn't notice it until now.
Oneplus should clearly take attention on that issue seriously and fix it ASAP.
Shouldn't be happening at all with any kind app or scenario of usage.
