Hide Navigation Bar? - Nubia Red Magic 3 Questions & Answers

Is there anyway to hide the navigation bar in any app? I'm on the global rom for the US.

install fluid navigation from play store and follow the instruction to enable it

Thanks, I installed it but it says it requires root to hide the navigation bar. Is there a way to hide without rooting my device?

Use navigation gesture app from xda google it.
But you need pc to run the adb command which will be prompted by the app...
Once the command is executed grant permission as required.
Root is not required...
Then you can hide the navigation bar and also can use the navigation gesture..
Enjoy !!!

I'm a little new to ADB. I have my red magic 3s in USB debugging mode but when I shift right click in the ADB folder and type ADB devices, powershell doesn't recognize the command. Do I need to download the Nubia USB driver first?

I finally figured it out! This is still much better now! I also bought the pro version of fng. It works great! Thanks again for the recommendation!

Does "Swipe navigation" trick work on Android N ? Any other ways to do it on nougat ?

No it does not. I'm also looking for an alternate method. Had it running for awhile on Nougat official release, but if I accidentally long-pressed on any of my Swipe Navigation attempts, it would stop working and I'd be stuck in whatever app I was using. Having to shut down and reboot to get home is not ideal.
it removes the navbar but it also breaks my camera. suggestions?
edit; I fixed it using this mod I only had assistant enabled in the aroma installer http://forum.xda-developers.com/one...r-pixel-launcher-t3492677/page27#post70291365

I see you too had this issue on your moto x style , of the two zip's given which one should I use for my stock 7.0 x style
This methode use to work on my phone prior of Android O. But it completely break my system if when I tried on O DP1-2-3. It wont let me rebooting at all, goes directly in recovery and have to reflash system. I know the thread is concerning N and not O but wondering if anyone would have advise
Is there any other way of removing the nav bar ? I tried substratum to set the size to 0 but that won't work either
You can use a custom ROM, like Pure Nexus.

Immersive mode is one way of doing it but I personally hate it. Swiping the bottom of the screen will bring back the nav bar. When hidden the keyboard won't show. Plus it still doesn't give you back the screenestate, it is simply replaced with a black bar.
Custom ROM like Pure Nexus have the option because they are running N. The build prop mod use to work prior of O. Hope there will be a way of getting rid of that nav bar ! #givemebackpie

Ok, that's personal taste, I do prefer immersive with transparent navbar.
does it also work on Oreo
Currently my nexus 6P is running Oreo, I use the root explorer to add qemu.hw.mainkeys = 1 on Build Pro File, but it turned out bad, my whole system collapsed and I have to reflash the OS. Will this app work in Oreo? Many thanks.
Worked for z5 premium dual 6833 nougat 7.1.2 mokee. and stock sony 7.1.1 different firmwares.
Tnx
This method does not apply to my cell phone,android7.0,EMUI 5.0.1 OS。

Lost my navigation bar completely after using an app to hide it...

I used an application to hide my navbar, however, it was glitching and flickering forcing me to stop and uninstall the app.
Doing so permanently removed my navbar. Issue is any other replacent navbar I am not able to use. I must enable access in the accessibility option, however, when trying to do so I keep getting ''settings has stopped working'' error. How can I fix this?
Bump. Anyone? Even when trying other third party apps such as power toggles, I am unable to use the back, go home or recent apps menu....
Any way of restoring the soft navbar keys?? I am unable to do anything without them. The last resort would be to factory/data reset, wipe or re-flash rom. Please advise.
Try clearing cache in recovery mode.
Or
On PC with adb command uninstall the app but with the com.xxx.xxx name of the app.
Or
You can try to flash the stock rom 3 files + home-csc file (won't wipe data).
Or as you said factory reset.

I will try the second option, using adb command. I believe the name of the app that caused me this issue is ''Navigation Gestures''
This one - ''https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xda.nobar
However, it was uninstalled yet my navbar is still missing. Ever since I tried other ones without success. How do I remove all the ones using adb?
Hi,
In the future, please contact us directly via email. If you uninstall the app without reverting the pill like we warned, this situation will happen. If you have access to ADB, you can manually re-enable the nav bar by running the following command:
adb shell wm overscan reset
The "glitching" and "flickering" by the way, happens if you use Samsung's nav bar hider and not ours. Version 1.2.0 of the app has much better compatibility with Samsung phones (tested personally on a Note 8.)

I re-flashed my rom 2-3 times due to bootloop/not booting due to messing about with several navbar hiders, VERY surprised that messing with the navbar can prevent the phone from booting!
Even when trying Substratum with the paid addon, even this caused a bootloop/unable to boot.
I may of even tried your version, cannot remember, what is the latest version YOU have that has been tested and works with Note 8? I'll give that a try.

System UI Tuner

Hi
Can anyone help - I want to access the System UI tuner on P20 pro, to remove icons like Bluetooth and NFC from the status bar.
I found a tutorial (link below) which gives me access to the System UI menu - however the options don't seem to have any effect and there is no option to turn off the NFC icon - can anyone help?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gm8PEYKrjrw
This was so easy on my Oneplus.....not sure why Huawei make it so difficult!
Thanks
Don't bother with the tuner. Simply use adb:
adb shell settings put secure icon_blacklist nfc, bluetooth ... then reboot.
Or if you're rooted, just... settings put secure icon_blacklist nfc, bluetooth in a terminal emulator on the phone, then reboot
Full guide here... https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/how-to/remove-nfc-icon-root-adb-t3507739 It's for the HTC10, but works for the P20 Pro
Thanks however I don't have access to a desktop. Only my phone or an iPad

Not possible without either root or adb AFAIK.
The inbuilt System UI Tuner (Demo Mode) doesn't work properly for me either and, as you said, doesn't have NFC as an option anyway.

Is there an ADB command for no root to swap back and recent on the navbar?

Hello all, I'm used to having my back on the right and recents on the left on the nav bar but for some reason Amazon won't let me swap them in the settings. So I tried to the ADB commands
adb shell settings put secure sysui_nav_bar "STRING"
And
adb shell settings put secure sysui_nav_bar "space, recent;home;back, space"
But the second command gave me an error and it didn't work. Is there something I'm missing or is rooting my only option?

Even with root swapping back/recents is not easy (reliable) in the absence of a custom ROM or Xposed Framework + GravityBox or similar tool.

Ah, I see. I guess I can root and install Xposed and try it that way. Bit silly that something so basic isn't just included, I really hate FireOS.

Key swapping isn't an option on most stock ROMs. Xposed likely won't load/run well with FireOS v5 not to mention the challenges of installing via FlashFire in absence of a custom recovery. You best option is to go with a custom ROM augmented with Xposed. Still requires root which can only be achieved with on 5th gen devices running FireOS 5.3.1 or lower.

is there any ADB Overscan alternative?

I don't want to root my phone but I want to remove the gesture bar and make the status bar smaller. the problem is that adb overscan no longer works on android 11, anyone knows an alternative?
Also interested in this. It's annoying that the gesture bar takes up space in other apps. Then it looks like you have a black chin. So would love it and also a smaller status bar indeed, so to make the front camera fit exactly. Now you have some space underneath it.
I was thinking about removing that bottom pill, but then I learned about a gesture that's kind of hidden. You can do a quick app change but swiping right on the pill. Does that still work without the nav/pill? It's honestly one of the most useful gestures.
to disable the navbar altogether:
install magisk
open terminal
magisk resetprop qemu.hw.mainkeys 0
reboot
???

OMG dude I'm so sorry, qemu.hw.mainkeys 0 is what reenables it.
You should do qemu.hw.mainkeys 1 to disable the navbar.
Make sure if you're using a 3rd party nav gesture app to enable it and enable 3 button navbar FIRST.
You can still use gestural navigation with this enabled, so you can open the notif shade, enter settings, and revert if something breaks.
MAKE SURE TO READ THE OPTIONS CAREFULLY I'M TYPING THIS FROM MEMORY
Here's a better option:
install magisk
install magisk hide props config
open terminal
Code:
su
props
4
n
qemu.hw.mainkeys
1
y
and you should no longer have a navbar.
you can go back and delete the prop through the props menu to revert

Hello. Idk if you are all still interested in this topic. I have also updated to A11 and i found a relative easy solution. right now im on a Oneplus 7 pro GM1913 OOS 11.0.02.GM21BA with magisk v23 patched boot img no twrp.
I have found the "Fullscreen/Immersive Gesture(Q-S)" Magisk module to help and be a fix for now. You can get it directly through magisk if you search for it. !Important! When installing only choose "Fullscreen" with volume buttons. The others don't seem to work with OOS.
