Problem with fingerprint unlock - Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro Questions & Answe

I have set the fingerprint option to stay on while the display is off option in settings.
I notice that when I turn my display off I get the fingerprint option but when u press it instead of unlocking the device, the screen goes off and does not start for sometime, even when it does it locks the device immediately. I have to press either the power button to get the lock screen again or wait till it goes through the aforementioned process.
My device is on 11.0.3.0 which was updated through the link given for Indian Rom stable update. Has anyone faced this issue?

Brightness after phone call / key unlock issues

Hello everyone. I have an AT&T Tilt, and it's great so far, except for two issues:
1) After I end a phone call, the backlight seems to go off and the screen is very dim. Pressing keys does not bring the backlight back. If I power the screen off and on, the backlight comes back on and the screen is at its normal brightness.
2) I lock my AT&T Tilt using the "Device unlocked" area on my home screen, and when I unlock the phone, sometimes it asks for my PIN, and sometimes it just shows the unlock button on the screen. My settings are for a 12 hour timeout.
If anyone can shed any light on possible fixes to these issues, that would be great. Thanks!

I have the same issue after a phone call....
Same issue here too... it doesn't happen when on USB-power... and I don't remember it doing this before the security-Exchange policy was forced onto my phone.

I think this happens coz the phone goes into standby / lock mode during your phone call. Just press the on/off button to turn screen off, and press again to turn on. Now your phone will be responsive again.
Minor bug.
Or you can just scroll the volume wheel to turn it back on.

thanks michi
thanks everyone for your replies. I will try the StayUnlock application.
I still don't understand my second issue though. If the bug is causing this issue, shouldn't it at least be consistent in either requiring me to type in my PIN or just hit the unlock button? I have set my phone to lock after 12 hours, so it should never ask for my PIN, just the unlock button...
I now see that people have been having the first issue since the Cingular 8125 but I have been unable to find any references to my second issue.
ATT Til and Backlight
When making a phone call, once connected, about 12 seconds later the screen goes dark regardless of the setting on the backlight. I am not using a password, and the only way to get back is to use the power button. using the phone button puts the call on hold

[QUE]Key Lock fails to initiate

Okay, I'm having an odd one and searching around here for about three hours yielded me nothing, so I'm going to lay it down here:
The keylock on my Diamond fails to function at all. I've got the New SwiftBL Diamond ROM 6.0 installed since yesterday, and I think that is also when this started. I will also post this in the ROM's topic.
I checked the following settings:
- Settings, Long Press End Key is set to Automatically Execute: Lock Devie
- Settings, Key Lock is set to Lock all buttons except Power button.
I get no error messages, the only thing I see when holding the End Key is a short flicker of the screen, after which the Home Screen comes up. Do note that the keys are not appropriately locked.
I do not wish to use S2U2, and I am wondering why locking my device does not work. Anyone having any ideas?
you get this is you put a pin or password to protect your diamond and use one of the cooked roms, most roms have this bug now and i'm yet to find a fix other then to remove the password/pin completly
yeah, i have had this issue, its the rom. just let swiftblade know and wait for the next release
Able to lock (with issue)
Hi, I agree this is a bug. I configured my exchange account and have the lock policy enforced by my server. With the stock ROM there was no problem at all. But after the upgrade to the RUU_Diamond_HTC_WWE_2.03.405.3_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.51.25.26_1.09.25.23_Ship ROM, the Long Press End Key no longer works to lock the device (the screen flicks).
I found a **workaround** (but not solution ). Long press the end key (as you normally would) and wait for the screen flick, press the power button (it have to be the first key touched after the screen flick). That's all, the device should be locked now.

Trouble unlocking screen

I just recently purchased a Nexus 6 project FI phone that was on sale and have been encountering a weird issue: whenever I lower the brightness down all the way and try to hit the power button to unlock, the lock screen flashes for a second and goes back to black and I'm not able to unlock it. What's weird is it still registers my touches because it vibrates as if I was swiping for my unlock pattern. The only solution to this is to keep hitting the power button quickly until the screen finally decides to turn on.
The build is LYV48h running 5.1.1 and rooted/unlocked
Has anyone run into this issue, and if so what can I do to fix it? My next plan is to factory reset it and see if that helps at all
Thanks for your help!

Unable to use screen lock

I have a Moto G 2014 running cm13. Everything was fine until my pin code stopped working and I was able to unlock my phone with a swipe. However, I'm able to lock the phone only if I touch the lock icon on my lockscreen after which it says " Your device will stay locked until you manually unlock it". My lock button does not lock the phone to a pin code as it did before.
I haven't activated Smart Lock or changed any setting and this kinda seems out of the blue.
Help would be appreciated. Thanks
I am facing the same issue as well, i tried changing roms and flashing kernals but the issue persists, also reboot dosen't help, do let me know if u find a solution.
for now i double tap the power button which opens up the camera and lets me through the lock screen but things go haywire usually around the lower part of the screen.

Android Pie Screen Lock with On/Off Button and Screen Timeout Lock

Hello Everyvone,
since i've upgraded to EMUI 9 i'm searching the option to disable the screenlock by pressing the on/off button.
Sometimes i disable my screen just for seconds and want to came back without need to unlock it.
Until Android 8 there was an option for this in every Android version. But where can i find this now in Android 9?
Same problem is with Screen Lock by timeout. Normaly after screen timeout i configured 3min where the device was not already locked. So with just pressing on/off i could have came back without unlocking again.
Any ideas how to get this back now?
Yeah the brainiacs at Huawei removed this with the Emui 9 update, it is still possible in stock Android 9 afaik. Now you can't set any time limit or anything, just instant lock when the screen turns off whether it is by pressing the power button or after your chosen time. Really annoying but not surprising. I wonder if this is to force us to use fingerprint unlocking, which I don't use because... Huawei.
