Can't disable night filter - Realme X2 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi,
I bought a Realme X2 Pro 8/128GB european version and I set it up with my google account which I was also using on my old Xiaomi Mi A2.
On the A2 I had enabled Night Filter (the setting that turns your screen yellow to protect you from blue light) from 23:00 to 07:00. This setting is also enabled on the Realme X2 Pro, but the problem is I can't see it (so I can't turn it off). At 23:00, the Night Filter turns on and my screen goes yellow and I can't do anything about it, because if I check the Realme X2 Pro Night Filter, it says it is off, and it really is, because if I turn it on, the screen turns even more yellowish.
I did a bit of research and I found some people with the Samsung Galaxy S9 or S10 that had the same problem. They solved it either by installing Nova Launcher, going to Activites and disabling Night Filter there, or installing Google Play Books and turning off the Night Filter on the app. I tried both but no luck for me. I also tried disabling Night Protection on the A2, then syncronizing my Google Account again, but it didn't work.
Does anyone have any idea about what I could do? Thanks!

Here is solution after month
I had a same issue in my realme 6 pro after many research and contact to realme customer care finally I fix it my myself.
Steps
1) Backup your contact and media
2) wipe your device reset
3) after resetting when you login with your previous email do not restore system settings say no to restore system settings and that's it's.
Basically it's bug it's solve by not restoring system settings sync with your Google acc.
It's work for me and it's work for almost all devices I'm damn sure.

Well I found the solution. If anyone has the same problem, you have to follow this tutorial. Make sure you have enabled the option "Disable permission supervision" on Developer options, otherwise it won't let you run those ADB commands.

Did u have any issues after doing the adb thingy ??? ... Cause I have never used and command's much ...will I lose my warranty or anything??

Will factory data resetting my phone help out??

This seems to have worked for me. For anyone else having trouble what I did was to type adb shell first, hit enter and afterwards type the rest of the commands (e.g. settings list SECURE).Another thing to notice is the word SECURE should be in caps as entering it in lowercase did not get recognized.

Confirmed, works for me. Essential reading link included
I don't think it voids anything you can turn everything off after you've finished too. Probably better for security if your just troubleshooting this one problem.
Here's a video I found helpful to get started. I've never done anything like this before but it worked for me.
...well I can't link it but just YouTube adb shell there's a great video on the xda channel
Of course all previous information also applies.

Easy way !
Hey,
I've found a way (at least it's working for me) to restore "cooler" screen colours.
Just reset system settings only !

Toggling glove mode from Tasker (or with hardware buttons?)

Does anyone know how to toggle the glove mode on/off using Tasker in the Z3 compact? In some samsung phones you can apparently do it by writing 1 to some device files, but those do not exist in the Z3 (and the one in /sys/devices/virtual/input/clearpad/glove would require root).
Alternatively some application that would allow toggling the glove mode with the hardware buttons would be nice, ie. by touble tapping the power key or similar. The glove mode is handy with gloves on but I find it makes the screen too sensitive for normal use and going to settings to turn it on isn't exactly convinient.
I'd be interested in a solution as well, I'm from Canada and it's winter = cold as balls!
I'm sure you could use this task, How to emulate touch input in Tasker: http://youtu.be/F4h95ArBcRQ to get the desired result, but it's kind of a clunky solution.

Actually, this may be the solution:
AutoInput - No Root UI Automation: http://youtu.be/U6ajlDn3cwY
---------- Post added at 11:43 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:26 AM ----------
AWW HELL YES, IT WORKED!
AutoInput may just be my favorite new app! Can't wait to play around more with this.
Thanks, I tried AutoInput but the trial refuses to start without a google+ account so it did not work... Also its a bit crappy to purchase two apps to perform such a simple thing, and even then do it by a cludgy solution (automated input to settings app). Surely there must be some standard way to adjust settings in Android without having to go through the settings UI?

Agreed, it's not the most elegant solution but it does work for me. Currently I have it set up to activate Glove Mode whenever I'm not connected to Wi-Fi, which happens only when I leave home or work, the exact times when I'm wearing gloves. And, of course, it deactivates when I am on Wi-Fi.

Sorry to be a pain but is there any chance you could gimme a quick guide on the steps you took top get auto input to work for glove mode. No matter what I try I can't get it to work (closest I have so far is opening the menu above glove mode.
I made an app that enables Glove Mode if you click its shortcut. It requires root though.

I am having the same problem and I live in Santa Clara, US.
I hope it's not the phone.
Anyone else having this problem?
Same problem here and I'm in Indiana. Been flashing a lot today and thought I screwed something up...glad it's not just me!
I've got the same problem. Brand new phone, yesterday. Done a few updates.
Never used Samsung before, so taking a bit of getting used to - still not created a Samsung account . No idea why I need this to download a theme?
Going through all the setups/ discovery process.
Thought it was just me, but seems its not just me.

So I created a Samsung account, then it 'magically' worked. I was not trying the app again, but in the background, suddenly it told me where I was.
If others can say whether they have created a Samsung account, that may help.

Same UK
I fixed it by opening a GPS app wait till the location is accurate and then in Weather app clicked search and then the find my location button
Yes. In begining also i have same problem and then when i setup complet then this problem gone...
I suspect that in some cases, samsung or carrier make all functions fully operational after you complete the initial set up procedure, depending on region/carrier, just a thought

Problem
Hi, I have a S8+ and I have the same problem. When I click the refresh button on the weather widget it says: Service is not available temporarily.
I am from Macedonia, and like the user from Serbia said, maybe it's a regional problem.
The weather widget on the home screen works for me with the latest update on my N9500.
The weather in Bixby home is unable to update. It worked before the November update.

Demo mode

I've recently purchased a p20 Pro. But it kept having a video pop up... Demo mode. Im on c652 firmware. But I'm not sure what I can do. Any suggestions?
Probably you have demo mode activated.
Enter settings and disable demo mode, just search for "demo" and if it's not there then enable developer options (settings->system->about phone-> multiple taps on build number) and search again.

Same problem
Hello,
I'm having the same trouble with my P20 Lite.
Is there anybody who could help to get rid of the demo version?
Thank you for your help!
In shop (not huawei official shop) they told me after some time and with my bootloader code that they cant do that. Maybe they are not so good. Maybe the p20pro is too new?
Removing P20 Pro demo apps without root
Hello,
I had the same problem and it has taken me some time to solve it. Normally Huawei should take care of the issue if the phone is bought from an authorized seller.
In my case (CLT-L29) the phone was already unlocked and rooted. I restored the original firmware where I was blasted with the demo video (P20 Retail Demo) in lock screen and after unlocking the huawei catalog (Explore P20). What I did is I downloaded the "platform-tools" from Android and just ran an adb shell where I uninstalled the com.huawei.retaildemo and the com.huawei.explorep something. Commandlines are:
Code:
adb shell
pm uninstall -k --user 0 <nameofAPKPackage>
If you don't know the name of your apk package, there are various applications which can help you in this regards like App Inspector from UBQSoft.
Hope this helps
Hello,
I used the commands to remove 2 packages and it works, however you will still have the following issues:
- no lockscreen ( that means no fingerprint, pattern, pin, etc )
- battery charges till 75%
- notification in the status bar
- apps mobile data priority revert after a restart
Untill a permanent solution will be found, I am happy to stick to my p20 pro as it is.
Thanks !
Hey does tge c652 firmware get updates?

Have you found any solution for these issues?
Nope, there is no solution. The only solution is to unclock the bootloader and flash normal rom.
For screenlock u can try installing google find my phone. It will activate your passcode and then u can activate fingerpring too
I have other issue with my phone. I cant get mobile data to work
Anyone know a fix?

Push Notifications not working is ruining this phone

Hi all,
I have numerous apps I need to provide me with Push Notifications and I'm just not getting them reliably on my totally stock CLT-L09 P20 Pro, and I can't work out how to get them. today I resorted to filling in Huawei's customer contact web form.
I've tried numerous battery/background/data optimisations mentioned in this thread for example
Some apps are fine, others aren't.
OK:
Discord
Whatsapp
Not OK:
Ring
Yi Home
Samsung Smartthings
Any help i'd be grateful for.
Hi! Maybe for above mentioned apps notification is blocked. You try to go Settings>Apps & Notifications>Notifications management>Search that specific app>Enable allow notifications option.

so banal answer
if you don't know, better shut up sometimes
he said he tried many things, how could it be possible that he didn't consider a thing that for default is always active by the way???
made me crazy

Dude, chill.
Do you know why Tech Support always asks you whether you device is connected to a power source? Because sometimes people don't think about the banal things.

Settings -> Battery -> App launch -> Disable "Manage automatically" for your app.
Settings -> Battery -> More battery settings -> Enable "Stay connected when device sleeps".
Settings -> Search for "Battery" -> Battery optimization -> Change to "Don't allow" for your app.
Those 3 work for me, not sure whether you tried them.
Thanks for these suggestions
Doesn't work for me
Hi,
Maybe you tried a lot. I found a solution to my apps.
1.
Open the mentioned apps which are not pushed.
2.
Press the square button to see them in the tasmanager.
3.
Slide all the needed apps downwards - to lock them in the background.
4.
Afterwards you can kill all the tasks - but surprisingly the apps still work in push mode! Of course all mentioned settings in the posts above have to be done to the apps in advance.
This helped me with the push issue. Maybe it is a bug and maybe it is helpfull for you.
Stay healthy! Bye.
tried also this
now way, i'm crying....
even when i re-open the app (was in background), i need to refresh manually to see the Alert in red!
dont know what else to do
These are the reasons why I finally sold my P20 Pro and Mate 20 Pro - no reliable notifications and sync, and no solution by Huawei. On Android 10 it's only gets worse.

Pixel 5 Android 12 Beta 1 - Bricked Phone - Please help :(

Pixel 5 here
So I updated to the beta and the pixel launcher kept crashing (couldn't even swipe or open app without the screen turning black and pixel launcher crashing) after the install until my phone kept restarting and said I needed a factory reset.
I factory reset the phone but when I go to set up the phone again after entering my wifi info the next screen asks me to "Copy apps & data"
if I hit next it asks me to connect my old phone, which I don't have an old phone. When I select "Can't use my old phone" a message pops up saying that I can restore data without my old phone by signing in with my account. I hit ok and it asks me to verify my pin? I factory reset the phone, why would it ask for that?? ANyway I enter my pin and and I'm back to the Copy apps & data screen.
Only other option is "Don't Copy". If I hit that It puts me in an infinite loop of verifying my pin, then back to the Copy apps & data screen.
Any help would be much appreciate, totally lost. Knew I should've not installed the beta :'(
I also have the same problem. I have the padlock icon in the top left side of the notifications area. I believe this means the phone is locked. I can not seem to be able to unlock the phone, even they it accepts my unlock code.
Did a quick Google search and found this on Reddit. It is a post of someone having a similar issue to what you're experiencing. There seems to be a comment with a fix in there as well with instructions on what to do but I am not sure if it works but if you wanted to check it out here is the link to the post as well as a link to the comment with the fix.

As I said above I am not sure if this will fix your problem or make it worse but there are some who have tried it apparently and posted that it works for them so it may be worth cheeking out

That is exactly what mine is doing. I can't go back and it is such in the transfer data screens. I also didn't enable developer options and USB debugging. So I guess wait for someone to post the upgrade file online
