Hello. I bought xiaomi mi 9 lite a week ago and the notification led on the back should be flashing while listening to some music but it doesn't. It works only when I turn off and on the feature in the settings while the song is playing and it lasts only only until I pause the music. When I unpause the song after a few seconds it doesn't light anymore. It isn't a major bug but it annoys me a bit. Do you have it the same or know the solution?
yeah same, for me it got sooo many bugs right now... like it doesn't light up when it's supposed to etc..

For it to work i had to enable it in each individual app's settings. Under Notifications there is the switch to allow the use of LED light.
Eu stable. Nothing wrong. Work like it should be.
On EEA or Global ROM isn´t functional.
But on India region is functional.

It doesn´t work. I have the led light enabled for all music apps. It doesn´t work with any music player except Google Music (for some reason), and I have led light disabled for that app.

I tried switching region to India but it doesn´t work. Do you mean Indian ROM, not Indian region, don´t you? And could you tell me whether I have EEA or Global version of ROM? It´s MIUI Global 11.3.3.0 Stable (PFCEUXM). I know it says it´s global but I purchased it in Slovakia, Europe.
It doesn´t work with any music player, except Google Music for some reason (maybe because it was a preinstalled app?).

After few restarts notifications run normally.
Ten I was flash EEA 11.3.4.0 again with Mi Tools, and notifications (LED and AoD) works fine.
Solved for me
Try to change the time in the led menu. It worked fine for me. Settings Special features LED light Start time 00:00 End time 23:59

Is there a workaround to get smart lock to work on MI 9?
I connected my Hesh 3 Bluetooth headphones, smart lock notification pops up. Added hesh3 to trusted devices, yet the phone still locks when the headphones are connected.
Furthermore, can't find smart lock menu anywhere in settings for the life of me....
It appears that in miui roms the Google smartlock is not fully implemented. Also if you connect a device and mark it as trusted, xiaomi's smartlock only works with xiaomi devices.
Maybe in some future updates or roms it will work with other brands.

Yeah, this is really annoying, with Galaxy Note 8 I was used to have the phone unlocked when in the car... Only thing that saves this issue for me is that fingerprint sensor is under the screen so no need to take the phone out of the car holder to unlock it

also have issues with notification access with nova launcher... It reverts to OFF( although showing as active in settings) after some time..

Agreed. Both Xiaomi and their Developers are useless morons who just want to force their own thing down people's throats.

So funny, we have beta versions with fixed notifications since months! And Xiaomi only releases security patches for stable ROMs... I guess they are focused on Android Q and MIUI 11 so we can't expect anything new on Pie but the good news is that it's planned for Mid October for Mi 9 so we don't have to wait too much more

There is no Digital Wellbeing in latest EEA ROM or I'm missing something.
DC Dimming is not working like it should be, at least with me, namely when I turn this option on, on broad day light i get some strange pulsing backlight behavior.

DC Dimming works for me with none of your problems, but I don't like the colors and how it looks at low light. I don't really have a problem with flicker at low light so I don't use it.

Glad to hear it that everything is working for You as it should.
Now, it's hard to describe this issue I have and I will not describe this as flickering rather as background light goes from high to low in intensity, like that it's following some amplitude of very low frequency (few Hertz's).
Though I didn't noticed any discoloration when DC Dimming is active.

By flickering I meant the flicker at low screen light that DC-dimming (anti-flicker) is supposed to remedy. Not everyone sees that flicker, or at least isn’t sensitive to it.
I don’t really know if it’s discoloration or if it’s just that the contrast is off or something else that makes me feel uneasy with the screen at low light and DC-dimming enabled.

I personally did noticed this "flickering" at low light environment-screen so I see this flicker but fortunately it wasn't such a big issue to me.
When this new iteration of ROM has came to life and inside was this new DC dimming option, I have told to my self "hey, look at this, excellent" but to my disappointment, i have this issue. I believe that this will be solved in new ROM, as always with Xiaomi developers, two steps forward, one step back!
At me, when this option is activated, i personally didn't noticed or felt any uneasiness, discomfort or anything like that?!

Maybe I have some issue with light intensity sensor but I have tested sensor in CIT and everything was as it should be?!

Updater app is really buggy. I have to let screen turn on and update open or download speed will reduce to 50 kbps.
On time download 520 MB and after reboot failed to install. next time It's download 2.4G update file. I had to clear data updater app.
by the way after a few hours It's downloaded and installed successfully.
After update I noticed that I have something is downloading and take total of bandwidth! finally I found it with WatchDog 3G app. yes it was Updater download and download again and again and never stop.
So I had to go to updater and check for updater, as soon as I tap to check update the download progress bar appeared so I tapped and download stopped.
XIAOMI is a great company but they didn't pay attention to softwares very much.
I hope MIUI 11 will change my idea.

Yes you can, you can even install Xiaomi.eu ROM which is based on the Chinese beta versions, plus it removes useless Chinese things for non-Chinese users and some optimizations are made

Hello guys,
am new to Xiaomi Mi 11 and I want to share with you my opinions (not the positive ones, this is not the aim of this thread). I have Miui Global 12.0.3 rom on it.
Issues:
1. Netflix is not working fine, HDR is not working and video quality is really low. Problem is not related to my network
2. Notification center show notifications with cut content inside. No way to expand them
3. Problems downloading files through Chrome, sometimes download does not start
4. When I wear bluetooth headset, during a call the screen does not switch off
Negative:
1. Camera quality is not that great. My P20 PRO is shooting better in almost all the conditions (am talking about main camera).
2. Battery is worst than my P20 PRO
3. Fingerprint sensor is worst than my P20 PRO
4. Audio quality is worst than my P20 PRO
What do you think? You got the same issues and complaints?

Have you tried P20 pro audio with Dolby enabled? i have both of them side my side and this is not better than my P20 Pro
I am on same rom and facing some issues as well.
1.I don't use Netflix.
2. Notifications are fine
3. Battery life is good., All day with normal use.
4. Only main camera is good, I am satisfied but not amazed,I did expected better one. I have Redmi K20. Other cameras are just garbage like on some super cheap garbage phone. But I think they will be fixed with software future updates. It happened like that on my Redmi K20.
5. I turned off fingerprint sensor because I didn't like haptic feedback while unlocking with fingerprint. It was working same as on Redmi K20. Not so fast but working good. Unlock every time except when your hand are whet.
6. Audio quality is great while talking over any app. And using stereo speakers also.
I did had stereo bug few times , upper speaker stoped working few times and started by itself... It works now.
Haptics are great , I am really enjoying it.
Will write more when I remember more

My suggestion for you would be to factory reset your device and test that problems are solved.
Second option would be to download same global rom and reinstall it cuz maybe somehow your rom is corrupted. (For this you need yo unlock bootloader and wait 168h = 7days to unlock and than flash global rom 12.0.3.0) And if still you have same problems (I would suspect that something is wrong with the device) but than download EU rom and install that one.
If that don't work than you should return your device.
My question is , did anybody install EU rom from Global ? If I am correct installation works from Chinese rom to EU because EU is based on Chinese. I am not sure you can install EU from Global without errors.

I don't use Chrome, I removed it with adb and instead I am using Kiwi browser which have adblocker built in and dark theme also. And is light and work excellent. Also using duck duck go for search for kiwi browser.

The biggest issue I have found on MIUI 12.0.3 global is SOT. I get around 3h30min when on 120Hz and FHD+. A big amount of the battery is drained by Chrome. Anyone got this issue?

You don't lose your warranty by unlock the Bootloader.

Yeah, i know but i dont think i need root. When i first use Android, im very excited to root and do blah blah things. But its the story of 10 years ago. Now I can live happily without root

I think may be the sensor was blocked by dust or somethings but dont know where is that sensor. When i go to CIT menu, light sensor test passed

Here is the issues I found after 1 week of use , please feel free to add
The problem of randomly changing the screen brightness even if you cancelled the automatic adjustment of the screen brightness.
2- A problem with Facebook Messenger, messages and audio recordings disappear without sound.
3 The problem of Google Maps, the picture in picture option, is unstable, and does not work often
4 - The problem of WhatsApp Dual, when sending a location link, it does not open
5- The problem of hidden applications appearing in the recent list
6- The proximity sensors work stupidly, when I open an audio recording from WhatsApp, for example, the screen turns off and sound go very low , knowing that I am already far from it.
7_ The problem of the sound it is very weak , if I opened the speaker while driving , I will be unable to hear anything
8- The proximity sensor is not working, and the screen is always on when calling , or behaving wrongly ..
Very bad phone , I bought it after 2 years of using Realme 5 pro , I believe me the Realme phone was much better .
Realme is underestimate company ....

Edit 2 : I will add that the wifi is disconnecting automatically after 15 minutes of connecting .
Edit 3 : The NFC is not working sometimes

I face none. Only sometimes proximity issue. Speakers are insane and crisp.

I can't hear the sound while driving , I was able to hear very well when I was using the Realme .
Maybe the Realme was that good ??
I also have this phone since november last year and i have none of these issues. only gripe i have is the battery drain. It might charge fast but it also dies fast compared to other phones.

NO it is not, may be your device is faulty. One thing I can say though is, the top speaker (near earpiece) is not as loud as the bottom one which is again a normal thing with all vendors.

You have the newest version of Global rom. 12.5.19 is the EEA rom and actually it's beta version. The newest stable EEA is 12.5.20.

So what is the issue ?, Am I doing something wrong with my settings ?

There are different versions of roms for different regions. There is Global rom (yours), EEA rom (for Europe), for Japan, Indonesia, etc. Just look to the link that I attached above. The newest Global rom is 12.5.10, the newest EEA rom is 12.5.20. You can't update Global rom to EEA rom You don't get update, because you have the newest version of Global rom.

Did you try to do Factory reset? Most of your problems looks like software issues and other people don't have them. You would loose your data but maybe it's worth to try.

Same here, the proximity function works intermittently like a hit or miss thing.
But yeah the speakers are probably one of the best I have ever heard in a mobile phone, and that gorgeous popping screen.
