Where do we get twrp?

Need TWRP ....Else how ?

No. you don´t need twrp:
first download the zip-file with miui
copy it to the internal storage or your sd-card ...
-> go to settings and to "About Phone" (first point in the settings)
-> go to "System update"
-> now tap much times on the miui 10 logo -> you get a message ....
-> now tap at in the right corner at the 3 dots, which opens the menu
-> "Choose update package"
-> now navigate to the folder where is your downloaded zip-package
-> choose the package and let´s go
problem: i get the message "it´s not allowed to upgrade to unofficial ROM package" ...

no twrp, no trouble
it will flash via the origin recovery
like a ota-firmware-update ^-^

After unlock bootloader, it does not allow to install custom xiaomi.eu rom, it says not allowed to upgrade to unofficial rom :/

"it´s not allowed to upgrade to unofficial ROM package" ... still not clear how to do it without official twrp

11.0.4.0 added in OP.

Optimization: Reduced system lag

And you believe everything people say? There's no way in hell you'll be able to flash a custom ROM like xiaomi.eu without unlocked bootloader and TWRP. Look around and you'll find TWRP for Redmi 8 also

In my exp, the version 11.0.4.0 still has bugs, e.g: the most uncomfotable one is fingerprint doesnt wake the phone (phone is unlocked but not wake screen)...

Agree! But...
For me, Rm8 is slow and laggy, but I think it's suitable for my mom, who don't need much, just simple things: calling, texting, and FM radio... Last, the most great thing is the battery life, really longgg
btw, Happy new year!

Do not update if you use a third party launcher:
You can't close app in recents apps, when you swipe up to kill an app, it just crash and goes back to homescreen and the app isn't killed.
I'm done with this trash smartphone, Xiaomi is too awful, MIUI is badly made, full of bugs, awful battery life. So overrated imo.
I don't received it yet. Wish region we can find it ?
strange cos I do not have received it and it's nowhere on Mi website
The V12.0.9.0.RKBEUXM is only released to {Croatia, Greece, Poland, Hungary, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic & Slovakia}
Just flash flash_all_except_storage.bat (fastboot version) on top of V12.0.3.0.RKBEUXM and everything seams ok.
Dirty flash worked, my data is safe
for me flash_all_except_storage.bat was not working. All the time claimed "Antirollback check error". But I'm on 1 and the image is also on 1. Anyway - so I just copied the .zip on the internal storage and did a local update. All working fine - no issues (bootloader still locked - 4 days to go and was on V12.0.3.0RKBEUXM before).

You need to go to settings and click on the MIUI-Version Logo. There you see the screen with your actual version and it checks for update. Just click there 10 times on the Logo. Then it will activate the function. Click on the 3 dots on the top right and you will see some extra entries. One of it is to select which update to install. There you select the file which you have copied onto internal memory.

I did that to rollback from MIUI 12 version 21.3.3 with no issues, but using flash_all that clears storage.
Is it normal that restarting the phone also reset battery stat?

Question Is there a way to force/download OTA updates?

Ok guys, I'm new to MIUI so please be gentle
So I'm on stock MIUI 12.5.4 global (RKAEUXM) but there is a 12.5.6 out (also RKAEUXM).
I have no intentions of rooting etc. and I wonder if there is a way to download/force just the OTA?
Is saw the Google answers where it says set region to India etc, but that does not work (also tried with vpn)..
Anyone know how to do this?
Thanks!

Hey thanks for taking the time to answer my question..
Your first link brings me to a blank page with only an add for MIUI community app.
Your second link shows a download page which doesn't show a version, only says "global" and actually also say "modified copy" in Chinese.
So yeah, I'm not going to just risk that if you don't mind...

Links are clear.
You can upgrade your phone by Local Update method without unlocking your phone. The method suits for the situations listed below for sure: Update to Global Stable ROM from Global Stable ROM, Update to Global Beta ROM from Global Beta ROM, Update to Global Beta ROM from Global Stable ROM and vice versa. If you encounter the issue that the reboot page keep loading for a long time after flashing, you can choose to wipe all data via entering Recovery Mode. You can turn off your device and then hold both Volume+ button and Power button at the same time to enter Recovery Mode.
STEP 1Download the latest MIUI ROM file Click here to download
There is no need to do it again if you’ve already downloaded the latest ROM file.
STEP 2Connect your device to the Windows PC/laptop via a micro USB cable, and copy the ROM file downloaded in Step 1 into the folder ‘downloaded_rom’ in the internal storage of your device.
STEP 3Launch ‘Settings’ app on your device, select ‘About phone’, click ‘System update’, then press ‘three dots’ icon at the top-right corner, and select ‘choose update package’ to enter. Choose the ROM file you’ve put in ‘downloaded_rom’ in Step 2.
View Image
STEP 4After choosing the right ROM file, your device will begin upgrading. Your device should automatically boot to the new version when the update is completed.
Go to system update->tap on the main icon 5/6 times, this will unlock hidden settings->now download manually from trusted websites like mifirm the RECOVERY version of YOUR rom. ->go then to update again and select on the three dots at the up right "choose update package"

Redmi 10X 4G / Note 9 (merlin) V12.5.1.0.RJOMIXM MIUI 12.5 Stable Full Rom

Anyone tested this ? I have a Redmi Note 9 with strage internet acces problems , for example Geekbench 4 won't sincronize but 5 will , Gfxbench will not download data , some web pages just won't load, others will . Also random UI freezes . I was hoping this ROM will fix the issues but it's not available through OTA yet , i just read about it.
I have it installed on mine, it's smooth, and for now working well, I just hate the fact that Google caller and Messages are now mandatory from Google, I absolutely hate them, it don't even respects your privacy toggles as is confirmed by my firewall, every time I end a call it sends data to Google, I have it blocked, actually I replaced those apps, still can't believe how our "democratic" governments allow this, I thought a warrant would be needed for this kind of behavior, but maybe court houses are being replaced by the will and interests of Big Tech. You can install it directly from your phone, https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/merlin/stable beta/V12.5.1.0.RJOMIXM/ this is the official recovery update, you can install the file after copying to your phone, go to System update menu, where you check for System update,. and press several times on MIUI 12 image logo, a new menu line will appear on the top right menu option where you can select the file to update, it will check if the cryptographic key is consistent with Xiaomi Original and will install.
2021_08_09 - I don't like the Standby time of it, I think it drains too much over night doing nothing. About 10% which I think is unacceptable.
Can you please check if this app is working for you , it's called Gfxbench ? It should download around 660MB of data which always fails for me .

It installs, app starts but give Network Timeout, I believe that is a problem with the GFXBench servers and not the Xiaomi Miui ROM, unless it works well with other phone, and if that happens it means Xiaomi hardcoded something so it would not run...

How To Guide Update to beta MIUI 13 EEA - Xiaomi Beta tester bypass

For those with the bootloader locked and are not beta testers, there is a way to update to newest MIUI 13 (android 12) without losing data. I got the European (EEA) version of Redmi Note 10 Pro, so the links will be for EEA version of ROMS.
Here are the steps to do it:
1. Go to settings - about phone - MIUI version and tap on MIUI 12 6 or 7 times until "additional update futures are on" will pop up
2. Download your current version of MIUI 12 ROM https://bigota.d.miui.com/V12.5.7.0...AGlobal_V12.5.7.0.RKFEUXM_03d5ef5aec_11.0.zip. Download it using a browser, do not download it with MIUI updater! It would be recommended to have the last version of MIUI 12, in my case is MIUI 12.5.7.0
3. Download MIUI 13 https://bigota.d.miui.com/V13.0.3.0...AGlobal_V13.0.3.0.SKFEUXM_73299ee316_12.0.zip
4. Put the 2 downloaded ROMS in the same folder, on the internal storage of the phone - for example: internal storage/download/downloaded_rom
5. Go to settings - about phone - MIUI version and tap on the three dots on the right upper side of the screen and select Choose update package, go to folder where your downloaded ROMS are, choose V12.5.7.0.RKFEUXM/miui_SWEETEEAGlobal_V12.5.7.0.RKFEUXM_03d5ef5aec_11.0.zip and wait until the notification " Your device will reboot automatically to update to MIUI version V12.5.7.0.RKFEUXM " appears, DO NOT HIT "REBOOT AND UPDATE" OR CLOSE THE WINDOW!! Simply go to home screen.
6. Go to folder you downloaded the ROMS using file manager and rename miui_SWEETEEAGlobal_V13.0.3.0.SKFEUXM_73299ee316_12.0.zip to miui_SWEETEEAGlobal_V12.5.7.0.RKFEUXM_03d5ef5aec_11.0.zip, all you have to do is change the name of MIUI 13 ROM with the name of MIUI 12 ROM you have selected in the update of step 5. TO be able to do that you should change something in the name of MIUI 12 ROM name, you can delete the last letters or add some numbers or letters.
7. After changing the name of MIUI ROM go back to update present on recent and press on "Reboot and Update", the update process has started by decrypting the update zip, after decrypt is finished phone will reboot. Now all you have to do is wait for your beloved Redmi Note 10 Pro to apply the new update.
First boot after update will take some time, don`t panic just wait. I did update my Redmi Note 10 Pro by using this method because I have a locked bootloader and I didn`t joined the beta tester program.
This method can be used on all versions of Xiaomi, Redmi phones and all regions (TR, ID, RU, IN, EEA, GLOBAL, TW) by downloading and using the correct ROMS. If your download a wrong version rom, for example if your Redmi Note 10 is using Indonesian version of rom and you have downloaded the global rom updater won`t let you to do the update, a message like Unable to flash Custom ROM will appear.
If YOU choosing to follow this guide, I am not responsible for bricked devices.
This is perfect, just installed it. However it still has old style quick settings, they might change some design in first official build...
Did anyone noticed that it changed the boot up screen? It no longer says Redmi when turning on but rather just the Mi logo. Same goes for the booting process, goes back to the Mi icon with the 3 dots instead of MIUI's letters boot up.
Yes boot up screen logo is new.
Also to anyone considering doing this, it's still in beta as it shows.
It's jittery, laggy and not at all optimized, you won't be able to downgrade unless you have your bootloader unlocked (which I don't because the phone is new so I have to wait 162 hours).
So flasher beware.
Would anyone be able to provide an answer to the problem that I expose below ?
According to what I read on the following French site https://www.nextpit.fr/xiaomi-miui-13-mise-a-jour-smartphones-compatibles, MIUI13 would be based on Android 11 and not on Android 12 ???
It seems to me really curious, even impossible.

I don't think you can downgrade, unless you have unlocked bootloader.
I'm running this beta for a few days now without a problem. There should also be official update this month and i'm sure most of the bugs will be fixed.
Hello,
Thank you, thanks to you I installed https://bigota.d.miui.com/V13.0.3.0...AGlobal_V13.0.3.0.SKFEUXM_73299ee316_12.0.zip, and it works very well,
then I installed TWRP twrp-3.6.0_11-0-sweet.img,
then magisk
and finally SystemRW/SuperRW (feat. MakeRW) v1.32.
everything is OK even the RW partition.
1000 times THANK YOU

If I install the beta version this way, then when the stable comes, I will be able to install it normally?
Bro I install miui 13 Eea Beta version 13.0.2.0 from recovery ROM . Now I want to go back to miui 13 Eea stable version is there to go to stable ROM without pc
Can confirm this is working. Tricked MIUI to update from 13.0.6.0.SJDEUXM to 13.0.7.0.SJDEUXM. Trying by updater app said "This rom is intended for internal testers". This is f*cking genius xD
Hi ,
I have 13.0.1 installed already on my phone and i want to install it again but get an error "the rom is intended for "internal testers" make sure your account has the required permission" , how can i bypass this ?
theres an easier way, in the updates section just tick the box for receiving updates sooner than everyone else, i had it ticked and it updated a couple week back to 13.0.13 EEA. Much easier than flashing. personally i wouldnt recommend it, my phone came brand new from Xiaomi already loaded with 13.0.3, everything worked great, but since it updated to a Beta the battery life is worse, and the phone gets extremely hot when charging and it does seem slower and laggier. i havent managed to downgrade because bootloader is locked and i really dont want to unlock it and ive never flashed a xiaomi so im not 100% on the process. If i had the choice i would stay away from anything above 13.0.3 until the issues are resolved.

Yes, plenty of videos online and posts regarding downgrading, however it can only be done officially and safely by unlocking the bootloader and flashing the rom you want to go back to and will wipe all your data. that is the only official way, you can upgrade without unlocking, but to downgrade you need to unlock it.

the latest MIUI update I've received, 13.0.17.0.SKFMIXM, is not owrking as good as the one I was using, namely 13.0.16.0.SKFMIXM.
I've found and downloaded the 3.41 GB and something full rom and the OTA update of 266.39 MB.
I've tried with each one the following procedure:
rename the file to update.zip
copy it into the root folder of the phone
tap various time on the miui 13 logo to get the "select update package menu"
...every time it says that can't verify the update package, try via usb.
I was so happy with the 10.0.16.0. what can I do? I fear that a factory restore and a subsequent update will bring it back to 13.0.16.0.
Thank you in advance for the help.

Google fastboot flash with PC or recovery flash via custom Recovery.
For both the bootloader has to be unlocked. In my opinion there's no other way to rollback .
I've downloaded the right version (EEA) and now I'm getting the message "impossible to downgrade".
ahahah. this is so stupid.
I had a nice, fully working phone, now it's back to garbage and I can't rollback. starting from the battery usage - now I can't activate the battery saver and the drop down menu is transparent and unreadable unless i turn off the battery saver.
My only option is to navigate a jungle of fake infos and obscure downloads to flash the phone - since there is no clear guide. I might be wrong; if there is a CLEAR guide on how to properly flash a Redmi Note 10 Pro, where can I find it?
Cheers.

I advise to search for the right information on XDA and the downloads from Xiaomi servers.

Downgrading using the rename trick is not possible now due to OTA validation. But still, downgrading is still possible as long as the bootloader is unlocked (you can re-lock bootloader afterwards btw so no worry about banking apps).
Procedure might be something similar to this:
1. Unlock bootloader
2. Flash any latest OSS ROM (this is just to remove MIUI)
3. Use MiFlash and fastboot method to install old versions (re-lock if you want)
Alternatively, after No.2 you can directly install the old update through custom recovery and just keep bootloader unlocked. Though this means that you'll have to deal with hiding rooting and passing safetynet.
PS: Just to add, Anti-Rollback is not yet enabled for sweet so no worries with getting bricked while downgrading. Just be careful and flash appropriately.
Thanks for the kind reply, @BigChungus321 . Glad to hear that I can still unlock and lock the bootloader! at least for those 6 months of warranty.
Just one thing, in the step you suggested you said:
1. Unlock bootloader2. Flash any latest OSS ROM (this is just to remove MIUI)3. Though this means that you'll have to deal with hiding rooting and passing safetynet.Directly installing the old update ( MIUI 13.0.16.0.SKFEUXM ) isn't the same as using MiFlash and fastboot to install the old version, or I am missing a part here?
In this very moment I've made a backup of all the pictures and a list of all the apps installed, to help googling them again later, in preparation for asking the MIUI lords the permit to unlock my device.
Also, I've a friend who has the same phone but it has never been updated; based on my personal experience, if I'd like her to avoid the issues I've found in 13.0.17.0, would it be safe to tell her to manually update the phone with the "select update package menu"?
wow.
I was ready to unlock the phone, but I forgot to unlock the "Mi unlock" in the developer options. So I went there and seems that I cannot unlock: I keep receiving the message "connect to the netwrok and try again".
Am I missing some piece of information here?

It is the same but I do encounter people who face anti-rollback error rejecting the downgrade if flashing from MIUI to MIUI. But going from OSS to MIUI, this arb check does not seem to occur.

No clue if that prevents the issue/bug you encounter. I usually just dirty flash the full rom update (not the incremental which is around ~200mb) in recovery and I don't seem to get issue this way, aside from recovery being replaced because dm-verity is getting activated again.

I've seen many people who have this issue too. Again, no clue how to fix this. Maybe reboot, and just enable mobile data. Try changing sim card or switching sim card slots. Use other Mi Account for unlocking. I did see discussions about how using the same sim card and same Mi account can on a different device can cause this. I still have no clue how to fix this though so sorry. Might be a good idea to use a fresh sim card and mi account if you still encounter it.
