Missing VoLte Settings After Miui 11 Update - Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro Questions & Answe

Hey guys,
I'm using Mi 9t Pro ; BL unlock, stock global (MIXM). Few days ago miui 11 ota update came and i installed it w/o any problem. After that, I noticed my voLTE settings are lost. I tried *#*#VOLTE*#*# code and it says "carrier check disabled" but my problem did not change. I'm living Turkey and my carrier (Vodafone TR) does not support this phone but I could use voLTe before update.
I tried:
- Using VoLte code and ensure "carrier disabled"
- Change modem in ModemConfig
- Change network type to only Lte in *#*#4636*#*# menu (VoLte Provisioned seems on but grey out)
My problem is still same
Anyone have an idea?

You are not alone!
I have the EU Global MIUI 11 (since nearly 3 weeks) and same minor problem here.
It is not shocking but just want to know why and I am really not a noob in that respect.

It's a really common bug across many ROM's, you need to do a clean install and don't use global firmware if you have a region specific version of the phone such as China / India / Europe etc.

My device came with stock Global EU MIUI10 and with it VoLte worked perfect.
After flashing to MIUI11 Android 10 stock ota it does not show VoLte symbol anymore.
Did a clean fresh install but the same issue.
It is not that important but it annoys me that it worked with MIUI10 and Android 9 and after official Ota and fresh reflash not anymore.

It's possible that your mobile operator needs to update his "allowed phone/software list" first.
In the miui forum some users are claiming that VoLTE is still working, even after the upgrade. I did not check if the use an Android 9 or 10 MIUI11 ROM.

As said it worked with correct notification on Miui10 Android 9.
Today I did some checks and when making a call it keeps displaying 4G+ so probably it is using VoLte just not showing the icon .

Just type in dialer:
*#*#86583#*#*

Hi! I purchased the MiMIX upon launch and have been using it in Canada on the Rogers/AT&T network without issue. However, I've never received any prompts to do any system updates (currently my version is MIUI 8.0.8.0). I see that there have been a few updates since launch. Is there some reason I didn't get the OTA notifications? Where is a reliable download site to find official latest releases?
Thanks!

Thanks lesscro. To confirm, would I use the Recovery Rom or the Fastboot Rom to update? I'll be updating from the original rom that the phone came with (8.0.8.0).
I got the update as well. Just installed it. It changed the font slightly and made all the icons look more ugly . Wish I'd never updated . I don't understand why they're releasing small MIUI 8 updates when MIUI 9 is out ! When will I get a global stable MIUI 9 update via OTA???
Actually MIUI 9 is in beta stage for Global branch...
Can anyone help on how to install this on rooted mi mix?
Sent from my MIX using Tapatalk

HowTo Force Carrier to VoLTE/VoWiFi provision ?

Hi,
I am using Xiaomi Redmi 4x , in RO - orange carrier, but they have a limitation for VoLTE / VoWifi for specific phones.
(google search orange romania apel wifi)
I tried unofficial Lineage 15.1 and now the official AOSP Extended both with oreo 8.1,
where these options are enabled (VoLTE and WiFi Calling/Wifi Prefered) but when I call the icon is switching from 4G/LTE -> to H/H+.
If I check with *#*#4636#*#* see the screenshot. IMS registration. Not registered. What does it means. IMS registration.

Is there any way to force the carrier to see my phone as ex. Samsung phone? To make it work the VoWifi?
As I understand somehow this features are depend also from the carrier...
Maybe Xposed / IMEI changer?
Maybe a new APN settings > ims could be the key?
Alex
I've added successfully the IMS APN settings, copied from a working VoLTE phone, but the problem is the same.

You can try to dial *#*#86583#*#* first see your volte working with Digi ? So far I can't test due to I don't have Digi sim card. This method can try if that sort code don't work.

I downloaded the latest stock ROM V2.22 and used
Method 1: Instructions to Install:
First of all, to install the firmware on Nubia Play 5G, download the package and move it to the device storage.
Go to Settings -> About Phone -> Software Update
Tap on the 3 dot icon in the top right corner and select the update package.
Find the zip file and confirm the process.
Wait for the installation process to complete.
The ROM of / Spain / NX651_VDF / V141 / everything works fine, except the coverage, if 5G / 4G / 3G / 2G is selected (sometimes the coverage comes and goes and other times it goes well), selecting 3G / 2G works everything perfect, It must be a problem with the modem drivers. I say this for those who have doubts since there is not much information about it, or in case someone is encouraged to correct that. To me the design seems very nice and it is a pity that I am not 100% ok
How do I install successfully the Google apps in the Chinese version? I've tried thousands of version, work fine at the beginning but eventually stopped working I don't know why help please!

Did you do it over the Chinese firmware? Please could you explain, I want to try
The Chinese version that came with the mobile already had google services and everything worked.
The installation of the Spanish version of vodafone is simple:
1st.- you download the firmware in .zip.
2nd. You save it in the mobile storage.
3º In local update you select that file and in a few minutes working.
Change the boot logo to the red magic 5g logo and all the icons have a very gaming aesthetic.
The only problem is that, in some areas, the 4G goes off, runs out of coverage, then comes back, etc ... in other areas it works fine. If you select 3G / 2G it is always perfect and with everything from google working.
Vodafone has updated the version to V144 but the problem with the coverage continues.
The Chinese version of the NX651J has been updated to version 3.16 with android 11.
Found a global version on another forum unfortunately can't test it due to my phone being bricked.
It did update via usb so it's a good image.
NX651J_Z69_EN_YML1Q_V204 (SD) not sure if different from the Spain v144
Hopefully it helps

Has anyone tried this new CN version? I would appreciate your help!
@Negro604
My phone got bricked due to what I suspect is the relocking of the bootloader prior to discovering this global version.
Couldn't actually test it , I am afraid, but some said it doesn't work.
@Negro604
Managed to restore my imeis via a service gsmmThey were .
Now I am on the global rom posted previously , and can confirm that I haven't got any problem with the 4g or 5g service as opposed the Spain v141.

Upgrading Redmi 9 questions

Hello peeps,
I recently purchased a Redmi 9, it came with MiUI Global 11.0.7 Stable (QJCLMCR). I've been trying to update it through the phone butI haven't been able. Some friends that already have MiUI 12 told me thatsince I purchased it through the phone compnay they modify the ROM to add their apps and stuff anf that may be what's preventing me from updating and I'd have to update it manually if I didn't weant to wait.
I googled how to do it manually and it involded downloading the ROM but they seem to have a different version than mine (QJCLMCR) I don't know if this would work with mine or if I should check anything before installing it. I seriously don't want to mess up my phone so I'd appreciate any help with this. Does this would work with my version or do I have to look somewhere else?

Bro , from which country do you come from? it seems you are from Colombia . You have an operator modified version of miui, in your case I think it's Claro. You cannot update manually, nor use one of those roms in the image since you can hard brick your phone. You have two options: Wait for your carrier to release the update (which usually never happens) or change to the Global Rom, you must unlock the bootloader and flash via MiTool.
And you can remove the Preinstalled apps with ADB ! (you must be careful!). Cheers!!!

Question [SOLVED] Having Trouble Updating to MIUI 12.5

Hi, I recently got myself the Redmi Note 10 Pro and it came with a stock ROM of MIUI 12.0.2 Stable (RKFZAVC).
I live in South Africa, hence the "ZA" in "RKFZAVC".
I of course went to the settings and tried updating to the latest stable version of the ROM as I have been seeing videos online about MIUI 12.5. I had no luck there... It tells me that there aren't any Updates available.
So my second idea was to download the ROM myself and load it onto the phone and use the "Choose update package" option from the update screen. I had no luck with this either; Firstly I cannot find the RKFZAVC version of the ROM anywhere online. And secondly downloading a global ROM or an EU ROM, does not work, as the phone does not see them as "official".
I did some more research and then found the Mi PC Suite Tool (http://pcsuite.mi.com/). I booted into recovery, signed into the software, and tried doing an update through "Update>R. Flash". This method actually found an updated RKFZAVC ROM and started downloading it.
Now my problem is, as soon as the download reaches 50%, my phone restarts into the "System" and because of that the update fails, with the software prompting me with the message: "Couldn't Update. Sign in to your Mi Account".
I tried this once or twice again, and the same thing happens.
PS: The bootloader is still locked. But I have linked the Phone to my Mi Account, following the steps laid out in the settings page under developer options.
So I guess my question(s) is are:
Does anyone know what could be causing the 50% issue? Could it be because of the bootloader not being unlocked?
Does anyone know where I would be able to download my South African ROM(RKFZAVC) to maybe try "Choose update package" again?
Any help/point in a direction would be much appreciated . If push comes to shove, I'll just wait my 7 days, and flash something custom.
Thanks in advance.
I have found a solution. I realised that the MiPCSuite after the initial download to 50% always started from 50% again. So I had to assume the files were downloaded somewhere... In the MiPCSuite settings, you can set your download directories, but there is one that is not displayed there, but the folder is on the same level as the two directories...
It should look something like this: "D:\Xiaomi\MiPhoneManager\OTA"
Where "D:" can be exchanged with whatever your drive letters are set to.
I copied that file over to my phone, did the "Choose update package", and now I have MIUI 12.5.
Hi, I am also from South Africa. I actually just changed the region in settings to India, checked for update, and my phone was updated to MIUI 12.5.2 (Redmi note 10 pro). To what MIUI version was your phone updated to through the Mi software?

It updated to MIUI 12.5.2 as well, but of course, the South African version, which I quickly realised is restricted to some nice features.

I noticed the restriction to some of the features shown in YouTube videos as well, so it updated to the same version as yours. I was hoping for 12.5.8 which is latest global version, but no luck.
