Bluetooth Microphone not working - Samsung Galaxy S10 Questions & Answers

I have 2 pairs of bluetooth headphones, each with a built-in microphone. My phone (galaxy s10) however, refuses to use those microphones. When I plug in wired headphones I can use the mic without a problem.
But when I connect my bluetooth headphones, the microphone simply doesn't work. I've looked through every option but can't seem to find a way to use the microphone.
Does android10/samsung even support bluetooth microphones? Is there any option I've overlooked?

Hi,
I can confirm I am having this exact issue with Galaxy A40.
Can you tell me if recording of the Bluetooth mic works if you use the MicTest (by Laureano) app form the app store?
This works great for me. Which tells me the mics in my case (a plantronic and a jabra) both work just fine.
But when it comes to calling and using other apps (Teams, Whatsapp, Samsung voice recorder) the phone just defaults to the internal microphone.
Is there a setting missing here?

Reroute sound to bluetooth mic?

So, I've been trying to use my BT headset and a voice recorder but Diamonds seems to use only its internal microphone and not BT's one. Jabra BT 3030 (dogtag) is the device I'm using. There are wireless stereo and handsfree profiles in BT settings which are both checked.
Why I can't record my voice with Jabra? Is there a software way to make it use Jabra's microphone?
Apart from this everything else (calls and streaming music) works fine.
No ideas? Anybody? I sent the problem to Jabra/HTC support but didn't get nothing concrete as an answer.
I can't believe that bluetooth device's microphone can't be used for recording?
The same thing worked on Symbian Nokia device I used before...

I tried it to make it possible to talk with voiceclips in the live messenger, trough the headset, works perfectly. Axel

Fring Headset Mic problem

I don't know if anyone realized that when you are making video calls or voice calls on fring if you plug your headset (samsung headset with mic) other side can't hear you. Your mic stops working. It has to switch to the mic on the headset but instead none of the mics are working (on phone and on headset). If I remove the headset it works again with phone mic.
I also put regular headphones (without mic) instead of samsung's and it works.do you know how to make it work with headphones with mic? Does anyone having the same issue? I always carry samsung's headphones so I wanna make it work with it.
Thanks

Microphone not detected from headset jack

I tried two different headsets with this device. My Nexus 7 does not detect the microphone on either one. The headphones work fine though, just not the mic.
The microphone on the tablet still works while the headset is plugged in. This tells me that the microphone is not even being detected. That's why I thought it initially worked, but further testing (skype test call) makes it obvious that my voice is being picked up from the tablet microphone, not the headset microphone.
Is anyone else having this issue?
Yes, I can confirm this behavior (see related thread). I received 2 units that work (or more accurately don't work) this way. Unless someone can confirm that their unit works with the external mic, I conclude that for some inexplicable reason, the tablet was not wired to permit the use of an external mic. It is either that or a mass defect in the units they are shipping.

[Q] Bluetooth microphone routing

I have read many other posts on this issue, but still haven't found an answer (maybe there isn't one). How do I make a paired bluetooth microphone replace the internal one ? No matter what I do the Z's internal mic remains active. I just want my BT headset and BT speakerphone to behave like a wired headset. The only app that accepts input from BT mics (apart from being in call) is the unusable Voice Dialer.

[Q] Stream ALL audio through bluetooth headset

I recently purchased a Sony bluetooth PS3 headset which also pairs fine with my Note. Calls are working great but the headset doesn't support the streaming of any other sounds apparently.
There're a few apps (BTMono and Mono Bluetooth Router for example) that are supposed to 'fix' this issue but they don't work on my Note. I'm using Slimrom 4.2.2 build 8. I don't get any error messages from the apps, they seem to activate correctly but no audio is being played through the headset.
Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this? I would just like to hear my gps navigation through my bluetooth because I have a very loud car and can't hear the nav when my phone is mounted on my dashboard.
Thanks in advance.
I've had a similar issue with a bluetooth headset at work - I imagine fixing this would involve diverting TTS/Music/whatever audio stream to the phone call audio stream. I've tried looking at Tasker, and frustratingly you can tell it to play a single file over the call stream, but can't set a perminant "divert notifications to call" or similar setting. Not as far as i can see.
