The wrost issue in amoled screen ever. - Realme X2 Pro Questions & Answers

I have a global blue 12GB 256GB Realme X2 PRO. with latest RMX1931EX_11_A.07.
The issue is the fallowing:
I have Always ON mode OFF.
I go to my bed and put it on charge to charge my phone and the screen is always on with dim light, with hours, charging labels, notifications and fingerpring graphics, for I dont have the screen ON all the night I push power to turn it OFF and it turn it OFF, but when I wake up and look to my phone every day since I receive a notification the screen turn on.
This cause a burn in on the amoled screens as all we know.
Anyone have solution for this terrible issue?
Thanks in advance.

I already reported this problem to the realme support. They just recommended me to reset the phone ... Waiting for a solution, I do not let it plugged at night...

Thanks.
I go do the same, don't plug it at night for charge.
But what a strange issue. Very BAD indeed.

Thanks.

I charge it every morning 20 minutes before going to work to reduce the risk ... Fortunately it recharges very quickly.

Strange as when I put mine on charge the screen goes fully off without pressing the power button... If I receive a notification while on charge it lights up the screen then goes fully off again... I'm using the 12gb 256gb storage blue Europe version.

This is exactly the way I want that my work.

I actually have the "turn on screen for notification" off... But as the description under the button says messages calls etc will still light up regardless of that setting.

May be this issue ONLY happens in 07 version.
Are you thinking in upgrade to 07 version?
Thanks.

Possibly... I will be updating but only when Europe starts rolling out.

Wizard as a flashlight?

I didn't get the wizard for the camera, so the fact the flash is really nothing more than a flashlight doesn't bother me. However, it did occur to me that it would be really nice if you could turn that light on/off with a softbutton or from the start menu.
I know, it sounds weird, but I find myself using it as one periodically.
I guess I ought to look around and see what it takes to code for this thing ...
I wanted to use it as a flashlight, but I got more light from the front screen so I never got around to turning on the flash.

bad idea ...the camera flash/led will only last 10 minutes of continuous use then get dim and die. the led is crap. it a known fact .
sorry
A program that would make the screen completely white would work well. I had a similar program on an old Nokia phone I used to have.
if you start the camera and turn the flash on, then hit the power button on top it will put the phone it sleep mode. as soon as you need the light again, hit the power button and it comes right back on. works great when im djing and i forgot my mini flashlight or those batteries died.

This app made the screen white on my Compact to use as a torch, no idea if it works with the Vario as well.
edit: Meschle beat me to it. Some people can't be beaten by a humble noob like me.

The one koksie posted loads faster, but the advantage with torch is that you can also use it to keep the backlight on, for say when you are playing a game and the backlight keeps going off - i find that so irritating! To do this you need start menu mapped to a hardware button - i use the comm button.
Ah, what a crew! I agree the screen can act as a good light as well, just seemed like I could put the virtually useless LED to use .
I'll give these a try, and thanks!

One day before I went to sleep, I put my wizard to charge and, dont ask me how, accidentally pressed camera button and somehow got the LED on. When i woke up 8 HOURS LATER i found my wizard sitting there with the LED on. It was turned on all night.
2 months later, It still works to date.
Perhaps they had a bad production run of them. Of course, with my luck, that's what I would have gotten!

The LED should have a very long life of about 100 000 hours at normal voltage. It will be excellent if somebody can develop a software to turn on/off the flashlight. I always us it as a torch.

Biolover there are enough stories on the forum of device led's burning out to put one off this idea - do a search and you will see what I mean  The quality seems to vary.
Its not hard to replace the LED though, the wizard can easily be taken apart.

[Q] HTC One (m7) Green LED not working

I currently have a stock HTC One in Canada on the Telus network.
The last few weeks i noticed the LED light growing dim. About a week ago the phone rebooted itself only to say it had an issue and that it was not shutdown correctly.. and asked if i wanted to report the problem to HTC.
The phone the froze with the Screen on but a black background.
After 15 minutes i powered off the phone.
At this point the phone would not power back on.. when i plugged the power in to the phone from the wall the phone would not indicate that it was charging via LED.
I tried booting no response.. no vibrating,.. just slight flashing lights on the Home/back buttons
I ended up booting up the phone by shining a bright light into the light sensor while holding Power and DOWN volume..
Phone has been working fine ever since, however still no LED.
I did a factory reset and still no LED.
Has anyone see anything like this?
I want to root and install Google Edition Android however if the hardware is faulty i dont want to risk voiding the warranty and being stuck with a faulty phone.

Unfortunately I have not been successful getting the LED back.. I am debating sending the phone in for Warranty work... or just sucking it up and rooting/flashing custom roms.
My main concern is that there may be a bigger hardware issue going on internally.
I'm really just trying to get a feel of how common this issue is..

Try this: in dialer type *#*#3424#*#* (3424 = DIAG), that will bring up HTC internal diagnostic, there's a "LED Test", select and run it to see if it's a hardware defect or not (you will get Orange and Green LED tests).

Thanks for the info.. Just tried it the LED test .
To my surprise the Green and Orange lights actually show up but I have to hold it to my eye and block out any external light to see anything.. kind of defeats the purpose of an LED notification light..
I guess the light works its just extremely DIM.
Any way of controlling the LED light brightness?

Don't know, but I just ran the same test in a very well lit environment and the Green and Orange LED are quite bright... I don't have to "go look for them" they pop out nicely.
Are you using a cover of any kind? Or maybe the LED has somehow shifted it's position and is being partially covered by the speaker grill? Hate to say it, but sounds like a hardware issue. Sorry
Hope someone else has other ideas.

Shouldn't affect it. I've been using ARHD 9 through 13.3 and works with all of them.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I've ran the LED test, and all of them work. But they dont light up for notifications, and i have it enabled in the settings.

Have you manage to find a solution for the problem?

I also have the same problem: when it is charging and when it is fully charged the light works OK but doesn't flash for notifications. But it worked OK some time ago. Actually, when I think about it, it seems that the problem started after I had updated to the current firmware: Android version 4.3, HTC Sense version 5.5, software number 3.62.401.1
It must be issue with firmware/software because LED test works fine.
There's another thread similar to this one and someone there figured out the solution - you do a factory reset but, when the phone reboots, you do not restore everything using your Google account. Go through the setup as normal (without restoring) and once that is complete then you can add your Google account details.
It means you have to download and set up your apps again, but it is worth it to get the LED working.
HI I had a similar problem I cleaned out the hole with a needle and all is well, pin came out dirty (the one on the grill dirt was blocking led )

How to fix screen backlight on HTC One m7

I haven't seen this posted anywhere so I figured I would post for anyone having a similar issue with their One.
Recently my phones backlight stopped working. It would not work at boot or in the ROM. I tried flashing to stock and tried optimizing the proximity sensor, but no luck. It was clearly a hardware problem.
Not seeing any solution to this issue other than people saying it is the screen or the motherboard I decided to order a new screen.
Well installed the new screen, still no backlight. I was about to give up on it and just buy another phone, but I got the feeling that the light sensor may still be my issue. The backlight on the capacitive buttons would not turn on unless I helded down the power button to force shutdown. This meant the backlights for the buttons at least worked and something else in the phone was preventing them from turning on.
I decided to remove the light sensor from the daughterboard (opposite the power button connector). Booted it back up, and the screen came right on. The phone works great without it, other than auto brightness. The screen still turns off when against face during calls.
So long story short if your LCD and button backlights aren't working don't order an LCD or rule your phone dead right away. Open it up and take out the light sensor, it could be the culprit.
I'm going to order a new sensor and can update with results after installing if anyone is interested. In the meantime I'm using the phone without it, no hiccups so far.

hey
i'm having the same problem are you sure that it is a hardware issue and not the software issue my h/w buttons doesn't light at all and my screen stays black for some time after unlocking the phone it comes back but the brightness is too low
any suggestions would be appriciated
Mine was a hardware issue, the backlight did not turn on at all, even on the htc start screen. The capacitive buttons would only flash when holding down the power button. If ypurs is intermittent and your phone is rooted you cantry insralling an app fhat alows you to change the proximity settings, sorry, cant remember the name of the app i tried. If the app can't detect the sensor it is likely broken like mine was. If that doesnt work try a different rom.
If neither of those help it is likely a hardware issue.
i used the app both light senor and proximity sensor are working fine
any other tips that i can try

Sorry for taking so long to respond, just noticed your reply.
Did you ever get it working? If a different rom did not solve your issue maybe your sensor is just dirty. You could try cleaning it with a can of compressed air. Not sure how effective it would be, but it may help.
Hi @nsodmordex, my HTC One M7 is in the same situation as you describe, no backlight, but working. I'm going to try your suggestion of removing the light sensor, but I'm unable to find it, I'm not sure where the light sensor is.
Please, can you tell me which component is the light sensor? This is a photo of the daughter board:
htt ps://d3nevzfk7ii3be.cloudfront.net/igi/ALPJIMWqGsLwul5Y.huge
Thanks!
Found it... it's located behind the daughter board, at the two little holes of the front cover of the phone. I have removed it but no luck, the screen continues black, but the mobile is working good.
it seems a screen related problem, I'm going to try to change the screen and see if it comes to life again.
Drain battery
Hi all,
I also have this problem and found out that if I drain the battery completely and wait about 1 hour, it turns back on when I put the charger in the phone, if the screen doesn't turn on, drain and wait longer, if it does turn back on then power the phone. Do not wait till it has a little bit power because than it fails again and you must drain and wait again.
It works for me and I will make a video of it and post a link later.
Hope it works for you all!
Tip: use a led flashlight to see what's on the display

Than the lightsensor is broken, are the contacts on the back of the sensor 100% clean, in my case it was dust that created the error.
Is the display not broken?

The display is ok because I can see what is on the phone with the LED flash of a Galaxy S2 so I think that the display is not broken.
The backlight doesn´t turn on with the light sensor and without it either. But i can remember that the last time that it worked the Autobrightness was fine
Edit: I tried rebooting on fastboot and recovery via ADB and the screen is without backlight too
PD: Sorry for my English

I think the sensor is broken and if you replace it the backlight comes back on (sensor is +- 10€ in holland)

But as I read, if I remove the sensor and turn on the phone without it, will it work?
In this moment the phone has 0% battery and if I plug the charger i can see the red light and if i use a flashlight, i can see "the battery with the lightning" on the screen

No i dont think thats gonna work, push the power button (whitout charger) every time till the battery is really empty, than wait an hour.
If you connect the charger and the screen will not turn on, wait longer. a night is even better.
If the screens comes on then turn direct the phone on dont let it dim itself or else you can wait again.
This worked in my case but my lightsensor was dirty and after a cleanup it worked normal and it stil works.

Okay, thanks, it worked once, but with the phone turned on and the backlight working, if the screen turns off, the backlight runs away again.
can you repeat point by point what i need to do?
when you say "drain" the battery, you mean leaving the phone on till it turns off? then what should i do? wait an hour and plug the charger to see if it works right? okay, and later if the phone turns on what i need to do?

By 'drain the battery' i mean continuously turning the phone on with a empty battery till it does nothing, not even vibrate.
It must be so empty that the phone not knows its a phone.
And yes if the screen comes on just power it on, thats it.
1 drain
2 wait
3 plug in charger
4 screen comes on
5 turn phone on
6 done
1 drain
2 wait
3 plug in charger
4 screen stays off
5 drain and wait longer
that are the steps that worked for me
Thanks @Dippie83 , it "worked" draining the battery and waiting forma a night to turn it on but when i turn on and i push the power button yo lock the screen, the backlight stops working
Any idea?

Screen won't stay off, keeps waking up

This has has happened to me 3 times so far while I am plugged in charging overnight. I'll wake up to see that my screen is on. If I hit the power button it will shut off, and then come back on in a second or two. Even if I flip it upside down so the screen is down, I can still see that the screen is still coming on. The only way for me to fix it is to reboot the phone. Anyone else experiencing this?

No, that's not it. I'm not talking about how it will come on every 3 seconds when you have a notification. I'm talking about turning fully back on so I can see my home screen.

Nope, that isn't checked. And normally this isn't an issue, only a sporadic thing.
Happened to me again last night, woke up and noticed the screen staying on around 5am. I tried disabling the active display but it didn't stop the screen from coming back on after I shut it off. I did find that when I unplugged it from my charger, the screen stopped coming back on. Does this give anyone any clues?

Its something you have installed.

I believe Safe Mode is still in Android. Try it. Warning: it will break your home screen widget layout.
If it is something that I installed, how can safe mode help me determine what it is?

The same reason it does in Windows. You use it to narrow down what is causing it. If Safe Mode cures the issue, you know for sure its an installed app. From there, process of elimination.
Right?
Just got the phone and have had this happen a few times also. No apps installed that I didn't have on my previous phone.
After a bit more testing I have more information. It seems like it only happens when it is plugged in and has reached a full charge. Once I unplug the phone from its charger, the screen stops coming on by itself. This is still some kind of bug, there's no reason I shouldn't be able to keep the screen off even if it is fully charged and plugged in.

Mine stays off. We cannot really call it a bug if it doesn't happen to everyone else.

Well I didn't think it was something that effected everyone, otherwise I would have found a thread on it. I'm going to try using a different charger tonight and see if that makes a difference.

Fair enough. I still think its an app installed though.
By any chance do you have the notification enabled for when the battery is fully charged?

No, I don't.
Ive tried this for two nights and it doesnt seem like I've had this issue since using a different charger...
My problem turned out to be the button accidentally being pressed and the screen lock setting being set to "5 seconds" after hitting the button, as opposed to right away. So the screen was going off, it wasn't locking, and an errand touch of the side of the phone while moving it would make the screen come back on without seeing the lock screen again because it was within the 5 seconds that the setting enabled. I was not familiar with this setting being on my previous phone and the Turbo was set to this by default. Hope this helps.
I agree that it is a bug, however, I was wondering, is there a way to get rid of that screen entirely? Frankly all that screen does for me is waste the battery, so being able to not have it at all would be great.

another update in this short time MMB29K.G925VVRS4CPL3

I can not do the update with Verizon Software Upgdate Assistant. It shows mine up to date, but I know it is not. Anyone did the update, and any difference?

I also tried to update via verizon software tool its showing me also my device is up to date.
I updated mine to G925VVRS4CPL3, and the auto brightness and soft-key lights do not work.
I'm using LUX to control the "auto brightness" until there's a newer update.
The soft-key lights are still working. During the Verison Wireless red screen on power up or restart, the soft-key lights are on then fade away when the lock screen displays. Once the lock screen appears, the soft-key lights stop working.
Anyone know where to find the official G925VVRU4CPK2? I'd like to flash the firmware back to that version.
Thank you

Looks like if I delete the device in the software upgrade tool, then connect the phone to the computer, it shows the available update. I am doing it now.

What are the new changes in this update?
I can not tell the difference. It should be just android security patch.

Thank you for confirming.
I have called Verizon tech support and they routed me to Samsung tech support. They suggested I go see a Samsung tech support guy at Best Buy to re-flash the firmware. My phone was re-flashed to G925VVRU4CPK2 (the one before CPL3). The symptoms still show. I updated to CPL3 and the symptoms still persist.
Its strange that the Lux app can control the auto brightness. When I cover/uncover the sensor the screen dims/brightens. Without the app, the phone just stays 100% bright with auto-brightness checked.
And the soft-key lights up during power up, but are somehow disabled afterwards.

How old is your phone? Any chance that the battery is degarded after many charge cycles?
