Ring.com doorbell - not receiving notifications

Hi,
I've recently got a Huawei P20 Pro and it's not receiving any ring notifications when someone rings my ring.com doorbell..
I've had a few instances where the notification has come through as it should, but literally 99% of the time i don't receive any notifications at all.
I've ran through all the steps outlined in their guide (How-to-Troubleshoot-Ring-Notification-Issues-for-Android-Devices - i can't link the URL as i'm a new member here) but none of it has made any difference.
I have checked all permissions, notification settings, disabled them, re-enabled them, cleared cache, cleared data, deleted the app, re-installed, set the "App Launch" options to allow to run in the background - all to no avail.
Got another phone (Samsung S7 Edge) set-up to receive the same notifications from the same doorbell - and that's receiving all of them absolutely fine.
My P20 Pro is running EMUI 8.1.0 and Android version 8.1.0.
I've raised a support ticket with Ring.com, but thought i'd also post here - as it seems likely this may be a P20-specific issue..
I have the same problem with Logitech Circle 2 security camera. I'm not getting every notification, but on my HTC U11 it works fine. I think it's some aggressive RAM management or Doze. I've just setteled with the reason beeing early firmware and that Huawei will fix it. A bit of a hassle, but I have never bought a phone at launch and not experienced any bygd yet. No matter if it was HTC, Samsung, Huawei, Sony and so forth.
The ram management is ridiculously aggressive. I have several apps that don't function correctly, despite removing them them from the app launch settings.
Some of them are really annoying, but I have an issue with Outlook on an office365 account not notifying me about really important work stuff.
Go to battery settings, app launch, and set it to manage manually with all the options enabled. You will probably need to do that for a few apps.

Have you disabled the 'Manage automatically' battery option?
Thanks guys.
It looks like it was the App Launch settings. I resolved the issue by performing the following steps;
1) Deleted ring.com app cache
2) Deleted ring.com data
3) Uninstalled ring.com app
4) Re-installed ring.com app
5) Amended the following App Launch battery settings; Settings > Apps & notifications > Apps > Ring > Battery > App Launch > Switched off Manage Automatically and enabled all 3 manual options; Auto-launch, Secondary launch and Run in background
i had the same problem and this worked
I talk to ring support and the are telling me that the app its not fully compatible with android 9.0
I recibe notifications if the app its open. But if the app its fully closed I don't recibe any notifications.
I already try the above solution but no luck.
I have the mate 2o X.
Any one have a work around?
Yes, I tried to the above fix too but it's still doing the same for me. If I open the app up it works for about 2 hours and then just stops working. I've even tried LOCKING the app window so it can't be closed and that won't work either. I had a OnePlus 5T previously and it worked perfectly on that, then i got this phone and it stopped working. My wife's app on her OnePlus 3T works fine. I'm getting really annoyed with it now as it's bloody pointless me having it.
I have a Mate 8, ring app notification would stop coming through not long after setting up the app but nest doorbell app works perfectly, same battery management setting on both apps.
Once battery management has been set, go to apps, apps, click 3 dots top right, special access, battery optimisation, where you see "not allowed" top left, set to "all apps" , now set the apps needed to "not allowed".
tested on huawei mate 20x emui 9.1

Android Auto crashes out when contacts selected

Having an issue with Android Auto that when I select the Contacts Tab, the app crashes. I am able to select all the others (navigation, music etc), but when I select contacts screen goes black and audroid auto closes down
here is short video of what is happening

Any ideas?
Same problem was present into v3.6 of AA in my Honor 9, now on latest 3.7 is fixed.
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/android-auto/android-auto-3-7-5840-release/
Got even worse now, cannot even open AA on my phone without crashing out
https://photos.app.goo.gl/4CTbdEJtt53xLcFA8
I am running version 3.7.584044
I have this issue on my Honor 8 with EMUI 8.0. It typically crashes on the contacts tab. Once in a while, it hangs Android Auto for a while and the contacts tab eventually loads, but if I try to use it, it crashes. I'm on 3.7.584044.

Can't launch Android Auto app

I have problem with Android Auto on Anroid 10. It looks like AA is preinstalled because in the Settings>Apps & Notifications I can deactivate the application or uninstall updates. However, I don't see the icon in the installed applications. I found that solution should be to turn on Autolaunch option in Additional Settings in the App, but I don't have that option there. Is it possible that this is due to the fact that AA is not officially supported in the Czech Republic? Any idea how to solve it?

Here is your answer... I wanted to install the app "android auto for phone screens" like suggested in the support article but got the message" not available in your country"
Funny thing is that on my pixel 3a android 10, its working just fine here in Greece, i just have the system language set to english so that the assistant works....
Edit: here is the apk Android auto for phone screens
Android auto for phone screens solved it! Thanks

Screen2auto 3.6.3 Xiaomi Note 8 pro black screen

Hi there, i have installed the screen2auto through the AAAD app, i did the right settings (i think so) and gave the permissions on Xiaomi Note 8 Pro (no root) but when i run the screen2auto 3.6.3 via Android auto i cannot see anything. If for example choose the instagram app or gmail app i can see only a black screen. Is there something i can do to resolve that issue? Or a good tutorial to watch and setup the right settings step by step?
Best regards.

Hi.
I have non rooted Samsung note 9 and using s2a 3.6.2 /wireless Android Auto connection in my car. I have been using it for the last 5 months and it works very well and the s2a app has not dropped off my AA apps. I started by uninstalling AA and installing older version of AA 6.6.xxx . Playstore forced update to newer version of AA. Under settings menu tap the 'Version' 10 times to enter developer settings. Under these setting select(tick) 'download from unknown sources', 'developer mode' and 'wireless projection'.
I know there is a newer version of S2A but I am using 3.6.2 version and will not upgrade because 3.6.3 may not work on my phone. Download S2A 3.6.2 and AA Ease page 94 of this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...rroring-only-for-root-devices.4062787/page-94.
Install S2A with AA Ease and this should install in Android Auto and S2A should show in app list or as one of apps under AA Version.
This has worked for me and not had to reinstall it on a non rooted samsung note 9. I can watch youtube, bbc iplayer but only get sound on netflix because of DRM protection. Also try AAAD because I paid for pro version and Carstream and Fermata Auto work on my phone/car head unit.

Android Auto updated to 7.8.622514-release --> "Google" app now available on Android Auto

Hello,
Today I was unfortunately forced to update Android Auto to 7.8.622514-release. My Android Auto was running really stable with 7.5 (and I had really bad experience with 7.1 and 7.3 --> therefore I'm absolutely no fan of this forced updates).
I checked the functionality with a second phone with the app "Headunit Reloaded".
I noticed that I have a now the "Google" app available in Android Auto.
But it seems to me that the app has no function at all. I just have the message "no new messages during your drive".
Moreover it also does not appear in the launcher settings on my phone. Therefore I can't even deactivate the Google app.
Does anyone else have this? Does anyone know what kind of function the app should have?
I really do not think that I need this app. I prefer to have a clean Android Auto. Is there any other way to deactivate this app from Android Auto?
Thanks a lot.
Update: I also noticed that the Google Assistant shortcuts vanished and can't get brought back...Where are my Google Assistant shortcuts now?
Update 2: now after using Android Auto today for some drives in my car, everything is normal again. The Google app was gone after the 2nd drive and I could add my Assistant shortcuts again after the 3rd drive. I'm really curious why this happened...
I just hate these forced updates.
