Hotspot in 5Ghz Band not working - Realme X2 Pro Questions & Answers

Hello All,
I just discovered that the hotspot on 5Ghz do not work. I cant find the network. 2.4Ghz works...
But I need it to work with 5Ghz to avoid bluetooth interference.
Anyone notice the same issue?

Can someone test and report, I want to know if this is issue with my device only...
Thanks

5GHz hotspot is working perfectly on all my devices except for Nintendo Switch, it needs 2.4GHz hotspot even though Switch supports 5GHz wifi.
But I found other bug in hotspot settings, I cant save settings if I change hotspot security settings from wpa to wpa2.

Mine is not....cant see my band 5 Ghz network....I sent mail to support and rise a bug ticket

Guys, can someone test this (it will take no more than a minute) I really need to know if only I experience this issue .....
THANK YOU!

Tested and fully working setup here.

After a sleepless night. I was able to make it work. It is that mi Wifi country code are messed up by my region (Bulgaria). The hotspot works indeed on channel 149 but my tablet can only scan till channel 140...So i dig around and found out that my SIM card in my tablet changes my wifi country code and messes up my 5Ghz bands. So after an Airplane mode and restart of mu tablet booom I had all 5Ghz channels available and I was able to connect to my Realme X2 Pro hotspot on channel 149.
SO KEEP IN MIND: if you try to connect to your realme 5Ghz hotspot with a device with SIM card ...you may be able not to if you don't use this trick!
Meanwhile I wrote to Realme support and look what do they replied:

WTF....it works it is ugly it uses not very popular channel 149 (I prefer the lower onecs40-44)
So this support Guys dont really know what do they support and not support!!! I asked to have communication with a technical guy

ok... i got "almost the same" problem with 5ghz band on my realme x2 pro. it works, but it is extremely slow, i stuck at 2.25Mbps on download, and 28.28 on upload. i tested my Access Point with my old Samsung S8+, the speed is 137.24Mbps and 127.69 for upload.
here's my screenshot compilation:
ok, i updated the OS, so from ColorOS to RealUI, and nothing changes on this bug. it is still slow on 5Ghz band.

after several tweaks, i found the solution
i tested my daughter's xiaomi phone, it suffered the same problem. so i come to conclusion that it must be some incompatibility of the wireless network. so, it turned out that, the xiaomi and realme phone, does not support 80 MHz channel width. speed is 120Mbps+ after i switch to 40 Mhz channel width. it's a little bit disappointing though, because 80 MHz does offer greater bandwidth than 40 Mhz channel width. But it's a relief at least it's not 2 Mbps anymore.

[Q] Extremely slow/laggy HSPA+ speeds on custom rom? Anyone?

Hey all, anyone getting horribly slow/high-latency data connections on T-Mobile HSPA+? I'm running the latest Android Revolution ROM and generally use my phone as a tether for my internet connection.
A few weeks ago I started noticing my connection and latency speeds becoming terrible. YouTube videos now buffer every 2 seconds or reset the video entirely, downloads take forever, hardly able to even stream music anymore without a dedicated connection.
I'm noticing the speeds both directly on the phone or when tethered to my computer. The funny thing is P2P connections still fly (1.1mbps in some cases) and speed test comes up with OK but inconsistent speeds.
Anyone else having speed issues on HSPA+ and if so were you able to work around it?

Sounds like an issue with your service provider; you should contact T-Mobile.
Someone else reported this and T-Mobile was upgrading masts in their vicinity.
Yeah I went over there and they said nothing is up with the towers. It's weird because I can, for example, start downloading an update for an app and it'll go pretty quick for about 10% then it just seems like the connection dies. The download will either fail or take all day.
Just to give you an idea of how truly slow this is here is a group of Speed-Test results

Have you flashed the latest 2.17 radio?
I would recommend that you go back to stock rom if you want better connections. Custom roms means that there will be code changes within it can affect the functionality of the m7.
Have you tried running a benchmark and speedtest.net diagnostic when after factory reset? It could be that one of your apps that is causing the problem.

I have one but have not had any issues like this. Have you tried forgetting the network and then reconnecting? Also are you having this issue on any other wireless networks?

My WiFi seems to cut out frequently without warning. It still shows that it is connected, but data doesn't transmit for some reason. After a moment, it might manage to reconnect and continue. I'm not sure what is wrong with it, but thought I might try turning off the battery saver WiFi option in case it's buggy. This is with my Netgear R7000 802.11ac router sitting about 10-15 feet away and other devices working just fine; meaning it's definitely the X having the problem. If I can't fix it, the phone goes back.

I've also noticed this issue while setting up my new moto x. My wifi dropped for a few moments 3-4 times within the first 10 minutes. We'll see if it keeps doing it...
I am up to level 4 corporate support at Moto now. I have emailed them all the links to forums with WiFi issues. I will keep updating when I hear back. Here is another thread about this too.

Can't select 5 Ghz band for hotspot

Hi folks.
Today I tried enabling hotspot and it just said "error. I rebooted the phone and the same thing happened. Then I went into the hotspot settings and even though it said 2.4 Ghz, after manually reselecting it I was able to enable it. It's weird however that 5 Ghz does not show up anymore. I had that selected before and it worked fine and I can connect to 5 Ghz networks without issue for regular Wifi. I don't know what happened because I'm sure this used to work.
Any clues? Phone is 4/64, stock unrooted and bootloader locked.
Thanks

Screen?
Right! I was pretty sure I had been able to do this before with both the A1 and A2, was very surprised to see 5 Ghz vanish out of nowhere. Not that important as 2.4 works but very odd nonetheless.

That's true. I only have 2.4 as well. Wonder what the difference is..
Now, out of nowhere, I have 5 Ghz back. I was also able to actually enable the hotspot after selecting it...very weird.

Ok so I'm not having the exact issue but, whenever I try to turn on the hotspot, it shows "Error". The moment I tap to turn it on, it turns off itself the very next second. I tried restarting the device. I also reset the network settings. Still no luck. I do have the 2.4GHz as well as the 5 GHz band options. But the error remains the same irrespective of what band I select.
How do I fix this issue? I want to be able to enable the hotspot.
Please help. Thanks.
Is it just me or anybody else still have this problem after a few update? I can select 5gh hotspot but when I try turn it on, it immediately turns off, and says error.
I can't see 5ghz band on my hotspot only can set 2.4ghz for hotspot

Question Wifi connectivity problem - Redmi note 10 pro

Hi,
On my new redmi note 10 pro the wifi connection seems to work only in spurts. Even in an app like whatsapp if a send a message it will change from the clock to tick only after a few minutes. And it seems to be working in a batch. Suddenly all messages are sent and received then it will sleep again for some time. WhatsApp web will indicate that phone is disconnected. Mind you have have 2 high speed connections at home and all other devices including some older redmi devices work fine on them.
There is no problem when the phone is connected on the network providers data connection.
Is this a settings issue or a problem with the device
Thanks,
i have problems with wifi connectivity when the signal is low (1 bar). When I play mobile legends, HI3rd or genshin impact, my wifi connectivity turns off and switches to mobile data. I will auto-connect to wifi again after a few seconds. Even though the location of the wifi is not too far and the signal is fast.
Go to settings>Wifi>Wifi assistant>Disable all options and Your issue will fix.
In the majority cases in the majority of cases WiFi connectivity issues, they can be traced back to the cause of something in the device. The cause can be any small alteration in the settings to a massive hardware issue.
There are a few things that you could take to resolve the issue. The steps to take are listed below. Try each one at a time until you can resolve the problem.
Although it is true that the problem may be caused by some other failure, in most cases the spontaneous disconnection of the WiFi connection is caused by a bad MIUI configuration, specifically, its automatic connection to the networks with better signal . Go to Settings> WiFi> Wi-Fi Assistant.

Sometimes it appears like this.
Turning off the wifi assistant didn't work either.
The problem is solved if you only turn on wifi
i have the same problem and my sister in law as well

Looking for ROM that can force Wifi Calling

HI all.
Long-term Pixel 4 XL user here.
I am looking for a ROM that can force wifi calling.
This feature existed in my previous phone (Note 8 Samsung),
However I cannot find it on my Pixel 4 XL.
I linve in an area where there low cellular signals but I have great 1GBPS Fibre internet.
The only thing i can do right now is put aeroplane mode on and then manually turn Wi-fi on which forces the wifi calling, this is too tedious for me and sometimes i forget to turn Aeroplane mode off and realize I have had multiple missed calls.
This is what the setting looks like on my Samsung.

Also on a 4XL on A12. Take a look at Network&internet->SIMs->WiFi Calling->Calling preference->Call over WiFi (If Wi-Fi is unavailable, use mobile network)

I actually dont have the calling preferences on my Android 12
You should have the calling preferences menu if your sim is properly provisioned for WiFi calling
Is your sim SHOWN as being provisioned for WiFi calling in the test menu via the dialer?
*#*#4636#*#*
Under phone info you will find Volte/Video/WiFi toggles. If your sim is properly provisioned for WiFi calling by your carrier, the toggle will be in the "on" position and may or may not be greyed out. Even if this is the same SIM you used in your Samsung, if the sim is not shown as provisioned in the P4 this may be why you don't have the preferences preferences menu. BTW, this menu does not force WiFi calling, so even if you do get the menu working, you are still looking for a means to force WiFi calling.
Wifi calling works perfectly if I turn aero-plane mode on and then turn wifi back on.. That's not the problem.
My issue is Googles algorithm on when to use wifi calling sucks, even when I have low reception in cellular it is still calling through cellular and not using wifi calling.
