Mic not working with AKG earphones - Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro Questions & Answe

I bought an AKG earphones, everything is working fine like listening music and able to hear the others voice in calls.
but the problem is mic is not working (my voice is unreached to other end).
i tried with other earphones those are working fine also tested same AKG earphones for other devices no problem
Any Solution ??

same with me. Mic on AKG earphone not working, but in my other phone (non-Xiaomi), it work just fine.

Use USB c to aux adapter. For some reasons xiaomi 3.5mm port does not work with expensive earphone.

I agree.. Xiaomi should fix this asap

I've the same problrm. What you can do is to pull the connector out very slightly.. Maybe 1mm
Try it

ive got this problem with akg and kraken pro v2s :/

AKG EARPHONES NOT WORKING ON K 20 Pro
Same with me SAMSUNG AKG earphones microphone not working on k 20 pro but same earphones work perfectly fine on any other phone or laptop.
Also any other earphones are working fine on k20 pro

On the K20 (standard) with a cheap 3.5mm anc headset the mic is not working too.
With an older regular 3.5mm headset the mic is working fine. Both headsets are fully working on my laptop.
Maybe the mic port is hardwired differently and the 3.5mm input jack does not support both/multiple standards?
Here are some links that i found on the topic.
3.5 mm TRRS plug confusion (CTIA vs OMTP)
TS/TRS/TRRS/TRRRS: Combating the misconnection epidemic
Smartphone Headset Standards: Apple iPhone, AHJ (CTIA), & OMTP
AHJ/CTIA is used by: Apple (although a non-standard CTIA), HTC, LG, Blackberry, latest Nokia (including 1st gen Lumia as well as later models), latest Samsung, Jolla, Sony (Dualshock 4), Microsoft (including Surface and XboxOne controller with chat adapter)[18] most Android phones. Because this is the most compatible, most Headset Buddy products are CTIA (non-Apple) unless otherwise stated.
OMTP is used by: old Nokia (and also Lumia starting from the 2nd gen[17]), old Samsung (2012Chromebooks), old Sony Ericsson (2010 and 2011 Xperias), Sony (PlayStation Vita), OnePlus One
Does someone know which (non)standard xiaomi is using? Maybe an adapter exists so that existing headsets can be fully used.
Xiaomi/Redmi does not seem to want to have an universal 3.5mm headphone jack. (Cheaper to produce or no extra licensing costs?) Should be solveable by software by changing the line inputs.
The issue persists over multiple smartphone generations.

Adapter with mic support

Hello
I have Jabra wired (not Bluetooth) headset with mic. It is very comfortable for my ears. But unfortunately it is 2.5mm, not 3.5mm. I bought 2.5->3.5 adapter off eBay and while it is fine with music, there is a problem - it does not send sound from Jabra's microphone back to HD2.
So people do not hear me at all, or hear me very bad, because basically they hear me from phone's mic, not Jabra's mic
I know that HD2 works fine, because mic works as expected with included HD2 headset.
Any suggestions ? Besides buying different 3.5mm headset or moving to BT ?
Does your headset and adapter have 4 pins?
I think you should use a 4-pin converter, cause the headset uses a additional pin to transfer the mic signal.
how would I know how many pins are there? It is rounded, do not see any pins :-(
Yes its rounded, but in 3 or 4 contacts separated.

headset for xperia play

My Thread in Q&A was deleted i guess because it was the wrong place to start it.
so i try here and hope its ok,
does anyone know about the compatibility of the Play to other headsets?
i'm not sure what you really mean but as long as your headphone has 3.5mm jack then it should work..
Anything with a mic other than the headphones that are made by sony ericsson and are compatible with the play (livesound etc) may bug up.
calls wired - only sony ericsson headphones work guaranteed
others have a roughly 25% chance of working most dont
bluetooth - as far as im aware all bluetooth headsets work
(note: my official xbox 360 headset works fine its the new mw3 model (got it on sale for £30 same as the old))
music (no microphone attached) - my sennhieser headphones work great with no problems but ive head people say other headphones dont work or suffer with problems my guess is a decent pair should work when pushed in correctly as it doesnt use the microphone part of the jack which i believe is using a minus voltage to make it so only SE mics work

There's a converter that will make mic'd wired headsets work with the Play. I don't know why they did that. Converter is only a few bucks.

basically the android requiremnts are that it uses a 3.5mm jack as standard for audio headphone output so it cant be any of the old propriety types where every company was different and unique. so to make it so you could only use there headphones they use a different voltage at a minus level for voice.
i believe this is what has happened from what ive read about the android requirements and the logical thinking of SE trying to make you give them more money

[Q] Headphone adapter with microphone

I'm searching a cable/adapter with a mic and a 3.5mm jack where I can connect a classic stereo headphones.
The reason is to use my in-ear monitor (without mic) to answer to the calls when I'm listening music.
I've found this one:
www.ebay.com/itm/360528518602
Anyone I've tried it?
Do you know a similar connector working on the Samsung Ace (or Galaxy)?
Today I've received this adapter: it works fine and finally I can use my expensive in-ear monitors for both music and calls.

USB-C Headphones on the Note 8 does not answer calls

I havent found any info on this directly on any of the forums.. But anyone tried using USB-C headphones/buds with their Note 8? My Xiaomi USB-C (with NC) ones just rocked up and tried it on the Note 8. Works fine with music and NC is working.. But no sound for voice calls? Tried VOIP calls too and depending on the method of VOIP, it may or may not work. Just seems Call does not route it to the USB-C as such but Media does.
I have the same issue as you bchliu. I own a pair of JBL Reflect Aware C usb-c headphones and they too work great while playing music, but voice calls are played through the internal speaker.
I wonder what we can do to resolve this?

Could be the model of headphone you got. I know some companies that where doing USB-C headphone would only work with certain phones. And some features wouldn't work either. I doubt JBL would do that, but you never know. Google a lil bit might find answer.
That's what kept me away from USB-C headphones. Sticking to jack and bluetooth. But I think USB-C may be the future for is multiple uses.
Why USB C Audio and /or calls do not work.
Its all about Digital vs Analog.
A phone either...
1. Converts both audio and voice to analog.
2. Converts only audio.
3. Converts neither.
Most phones only either do 2 or 3.
Now apparently, you can use a dongle for audio if your phone falls under #3, but idk why they have usb c voice disabled on the phone itself. Apparently the note 10 and newer ones support it though. They fall under #1
