Aren't you missing the notification LED? - Realme X2 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi,
I'm just missing the notification LED in the X2 Pro, I tried NotifyBuddy, Always On Edge Lightning, flash notifications but they are not working or battery hungry apps.
Aren't you missing the notification LED? If so are you using something?

I use NotifyBuddy and I like it a lot.
NotifyBuddy dont drain my battery.

I will retest it so and keep updating this thread.

I also tried out the aforementioned apps and stuck with NotifyBuddy, haven't noticed an usually large battery drain at all and it works for eight various messaging apps each day.

Notifybuddy works very well, no battery drain and completely affordable. I have removed battery limits from app settings and has it blocked in background. Really i have no issue with it.

I do try NotifyBuddy but I fell uncomfortable because the fingerprint scanner is not active. Looks like the app overlaying on top of the fingerprint scanner. So I need to wake my phone before I use fingerprint.
Can we enable to make fingerprint active when AOD is displaying?

When you receive a notification you can set double tap to wake, for me is very comfortable, because i have face unlock enabled and that combination works very well.
I don't know about aod, i have never used it.

at the phone settings/app management have you changed anything for notifybuddy?
also can you tell me if you activated any system apps from the notify buddy menu?

I have no system app activated with notifybuddy yet

I seem to find notify buddy works (most of the time).
But according to the battery stats, it's draining the most battery. I'm not sure how accurate it is because it doesn't feel like I'm losing that much battery with it.
Had anyone actually verified the battery drain?

I think he wants to extend the period of time of when the notification LED is blinking when a new SMS/ missed call is waiting. I read that it doesn't blink until you actually look at the SMS or look at the list of missing calls, but stops after a certain interval.
I hope this is clearer... don't have an answer though

I use this program too. Highly recommended.
Also "Handcent SMS" will allow custom LED notifications and also happens to be the BEST SMS handling app out there with tons of features (and free)
I bought "Tasker" yesterday.
There you might be able to create a script with a LED-Loop if notifications from App XY or all are received. Doesnt work at all this time, but its my fault.

i feel no restrictions in accupower since useing Tasker! If you leave the DisplayOffCheckSettings to 600 secs, i think there will be no problems. Try it out !
is there the possibility to change led color?
there's only red and green?
No chance
Maybe if the Device is rooted. We'll see soon

NoLED and menu buttons

Does anyone know how to make the lower buttons, back, menu, search, and home buttons not light up when I receive a message our missed call while using the NoLED app?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I don't believe there is that option within the NoLED app. The BLN has to be built into the Kernel I believe.... I'm sure there will soon enough be a supporting Kernel for this as there is much support for the Galaxy series phones and this sort of thing. As I am not a dev I have no idea how easy/hard it would be but I cant wait
The op was trying to turn the lights off not on. As far as I know it just needs to be updated for gingerbread/ns so that the bottom lights don't turn on. You can follow the original app thread here. It looks like the dev won't be working on it til after the holidays.
Why not to use the flash led as in the desire?

As in the camera flash? Well if your phone is laying on it, that probably doesn't work too well
Plus that LED is bright. Not sure what it's power requirements are compared to using NoLED.

That's what Back Light Notification (BLN) is and it needs a supporting kernel to be ported over.
Didn't want to start a whole new thread just to ask a question, but for whatever reason, NoLED doesn't work for me. I'm on Android 2.3.1 running stock (not LP or AWD). I've read the FAQ and I believe I have everything set up correctly. I call myself and miss it and I've emailed myself (different accounts) to test it, but I don't get anything on my black screen.
SOS?

did you use the widget to turn it on or restart the phone? personally i don't like it, i had my phone fully charged and had about 4 notifications bouncing around, not sure if thats a lot but it drained my battery to 16% in about 3 hours.

Yeah my battery also feels like it's draining quickly put I never thought our was because if this, since they say it's good for these types of screens, but note I'm thinking it may be this app. What other alternatives exist to get some sort if notifications for the nexus s?

I honestly doubt its the app. Blacks on SAMOLED consume nearly 0 power.
Check your apps power consumption under Menu > Settings > About Phone > Battery Use.

Display will always be the highest under almost every circumstance, regardless if you had the app or not.
If anything is higher than display, I'd be super concerned.

Yes to both. I have the widget set to "on," restarted my phone, and before, made sure all the settings were correct.
Still, nothing shows up after sending myself emails and giving myself calls (didnt' pick up, of course).
Doesn't seem to work; I'm running 2.3.1 with stock launcher.
Just read the FAQ. It's the "No Lock" app that's preventing NoLED from functioning. That's a shame because sometimes when I'm at home, I dislike having to swipe or enter my pattern key to unlock the phone.
NoLED works fine now. Thanks y'all.

[Q] LG Notification App

Hi, I am currently using LG Notification App to alert me via the touch leds if there is any notification on selected apps. As you can see from the picture, sometimes it uses up too much battery, I don't quite understand why.
Is there a more battery efficient app that can do the same thing? I mean 40% is huge piece of the batt drain for just one app and I want to avoid it if possible.
Thanks.
Sorry forgot to upload pic!

I'am using the same app and it doesn't even show in the list...
Take a look at the logged notifications in Settings->Advanced. Is there any notification listed you didn't react on or an activity that often happens?
If yes, you can exclude that from the notifications under Settings->Main->Notifications->Excluded activities
Maybe you might change the default feedback to somewhat less powerconsuming... blink just shorter for example (I have 25ms-100ms-25ms-2000ms, therefore an average LED duty cycle of about 7% much less than the default setting).
As I said before, it happens sometimes. I use it mainly to know if there is any whatsapp messages, and some days I do get alot of messages from whatsapp app.
My logs are disabled in the LG notifications app. So no logs
Here's another picture after making a full charge. This picture and the previous one all happened within 12hrs.. so its within the same day and not a screenshot from days before etc.
Thanks.
Well, this one looks pretty ok to me...
Next time this happens you can try to track in OSMonitor how much CPU it consumes and therefore whether the app prevents your CPU to clock down.
In that case you need to enable the debug output and the notification log to find the app originally causing this, probably by generating too much notifications...
Ok thanks!

Notification LED and Stamina Mode

Hi everyone,
As you might notice, when you have Stamina Mode on you won't get LED notifications on your Xperia Z.
There’s a great app on the Play Store called Light Flow! This app let you personalize every type off notification with a vast set of colors!
The thing is, it only works with Stamina Mode off! Even if I have the application in the white list!
Anyone manage to make LED notifications work with Stamina Mode??
I got a question, how do I access the stamina mode white list?
I can't find it on my Z settings.

the same part that is responsible for notifications is responsible for showing the led. I don't think this is a service that you can white list. So hopefully Sony will see this as an bug and exempt the notification service from stamina, it they are able to control this independent from the rest of the core os.

No no no.
It doesn't prevent the service.
It prevents other apps from running under the lockscreen so they never receive notifications to show.
Sony have already provided the solution, you can add apps to the white list so that they DO run under the lockscreen (and thereby receive notifications).

Notification light turns off in Stamina Mode so anyone claiming it still works is lying - There's no way to use it, hopefully Sony will change this in 4.2.2 but somehow doubt it.

I tested properly a short while ago.
I hadn't thought twice about this before, as like I said, I receive notifications for my Corporate email account. I don't use this phone for personal use, so I hadn't tested SMS etc.
I tested a few apps earlier after I saw this thread and I can't find any others that trigger the LED notification in stamina mode.
Sorry if I mis-lead people before, I assumed that as it works for my email account, it would work for other apps.
EDIT: I don't use any other apps and am running a totally stock ROM and am not rooted as this is a work supplied device (not my choice of handset).

Where do you see "lock automatically"? I don't see this under Lock Screen options.
It's definitely the lock screen causing this. If (like me) you turned off the lock screen completely, the sms notifications failed to show on the watch.

It is indeed. This is really annoying. I don't like to use a lockscreen, but I want texts to relay to the watch. What's the root cause? Is the lockscreen widget actually relaying the messages? Is it a bug? Would really like a fix that doesn't require me to lock the screen.

The Samsung App store page for Gear Manager will tell you. I recommend you don't update, because you'll most likely lose SMS notifications to the Gear.
