The face unlock is a bit slower than before, but overall seems more polish regarding the transitions and gestures.
Nevertheless, i think it needs a bit more "speed" on the transitions.

That's a easy fix,
Head over to " Developer Options " and change all Animation from 1 to 0.5

I did the bootloader unlock first. Broke the OTA. Can not be installed. Packet not matching the device.
Relocked the bootloader and it still does not work.
Did anyone update to Android 10 and unlocked the bootloader afterwards?

Sorry but last update is fu.ked up.Gestures in "System navigation" menu don't work.I can't choose this option. Only Virtual Navigation is available
Also I noticed much worse photos from stock camera

Blame Google for that, they managed to break the thirdparty launcher support in Q. If you want gestures, use the stock launcher.

Android Q problems
Any one else who can't se the files in file explorer? Nothing is erased but it won't show either. The same with music in music player. Also a bit lag especially when screen lock is on and I want to control apps running.

the update can only be made if no magisk root and no twrp is installed (if twrp and magisk is installed, the update cancels) whether the bootloader is unlocked is irrelevant during the update

No, blame ZTE. Google fixed this issue with 3rd party launchers back in December. ZTE didn't implement the fix prior to pushing their update. This is on them! And they need to push a fix ASAP cause this is unacceptable!

Does anyone of you experience slow camera? It loads forever. Also switching the lenses.
Both with ZTE camera and Google camera mod.
Plus desktop mode works now [emoji1]
but the DPI is very low on my full HD screen. So not much fun yet.

Android Q issues
Since the new update of my mobile, the ZTE axon 10 pro, to Android Q I am experiencing problems:
*I can't turn of battery saving mode which makes my gps often useless.
*The always on display shuts off when I select specific hours of operation for the always on display.
*When the screen is locked then the mobile doesn't respond directly when I press something, always with a few seconds delay.
*Native file explorer can't find my files, I need to install third party apps to solve it.
*Sometimes the phone freezes, especially when using Chrome.
The are other small issues as well.*
I would like to sideload the new update to see if the problems will disappear but I can't find the zip file for the new update .
Anyone that has the zip file for the global version?
Anyone with similar or other issues?
Any ideas how to fix these?
Thanks in advance!

I never turn battery save mode on. I will check it.
*The always on display shuts off when I select specific hours of operation for the always on display.
I never see this. Once I realized that it turned on with almost 1 minute delay but I didn't check it once again.
*When the screen is locked then the mobile doesn't respond directly when I press something, always with a few seconds delay.
It is always fine for me.
*Native file explorer can't find my files, I need to install third party apps to solve it.
I have never used built in file explorer but I tried it. It works fine for me.
*Sometimes the phone freezes, especially when using Chrome.
I don't know Chrome. I use Opera. Very rarely it waits for longer time but it comes back in reasonable time. The phone has never been frozen fully.
May be you should do factory reset and also get all update from Google Store.

Hello,
I cannot see update to version 2.3 in system updater.
Do I need to do something more to be able to get this package with Android 10?

I am in the same boat.
I have the European version and android 10 is not showing at system updater.
Currently on 1.8

Messaged ZTE about the EU update to the A2020G variant.
"Thanks for contacting ZTE, we are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.
We would like to inform you, updates when available are sent onto the phones via OTA (over the air).
Also it will be released based on the IMEI numbers as well, hence we kinldy request you to wait for the notification on your device for the update."
Guess its luck of the IMEI draw .

I think it's a standard bull sh answer from them. Have you done any alterations to your rom? i have received the 2.3 android 10 version 2 months ago.
The reply you got can't be factual!

LG Watch R Android Marshmallow OTA Waiting room

Google announced that ALL android wear watches will get android 6 update....
so here you can report when you get the OTA on lg watch R or any other useful news about it
links:
http://www.xda-developers.com/google-begins-marshmallow-rollout-for-android-wear/
http://officialandroid.blogspot.in/2016/02/android-wear-designed-for-your-wrist.html?m=1
Hope we will be among the first served!
I am checking my watch every hour
I'll give it a week before even thinking too much about it. Also if it's going to be similar lollipop update rollout we might need to factory reset to get it fast.
I say it starts rolling out in March.
From the Wear Support forum: "To successfully receive the update on your watch, please make sure your watch is on its charger overnight and connected to your nearby phone by either bluetooth or Wi-Fi (Android phones only). "
So yeah, keep em' connected to the charger and phone
Have to say I have never been less excited about an update to the watch. Nothing really new announced. Don't use any of the gestures anyway. Wish they would allow the use of two or more languages for voice commands.
people are reporting that moto 360 (1st gen) is getting android 6 update in these hours...
edit: moto 360 2nd gen too
Not to excited either, secretly hoping that they make the "ok Google" command more sensitive again. Since the latest update it's a hit and miss.
i really hope for a better battery live, android 6 is great on smartphones
Hey i read somewhere that rooted devices wont get the ota update does any1 know if there's any truth to that?

You might get a notification, but I doubt it will successfully install (assuming OTAs are handled like other devices and must not be modified in any way).
Root or unlocked bootloader shouldn't cause problems with updates, and in case they do you can always sideload the update and solve the problem using adb.
I checked out the update on a moto 360 first gen, gestures are good enough, and I noticed also an improved smoothness. Battery life is also improved, especially in stand by mode or ambient (doze magic).
Keeping in mind all those benefits.. I want this update as soon as possible.
Just got the update

Did you do this before or after applying the upgrade? If you did it afterwards, it's useless as the URL won't be in there.
Otherwise, try searching for "googleapis.com" or just "http".

Recent Apps reloading while switching all the time!

I recently bought the Honor 10 Lite and everything, from its looks to the performance has impressed me. However, I noticed a very frustrating issue with the "recent apps" function. Every time I try to switch to another app from the list, it reloads all over again instead of opening it in the way it was left.
I did my research and found that tons of other users using EMUI 9.0 or above are facing this and it is happening due to Memory Management. I found and tried all the alternative solutions like lowering the screen resolution, changing the "App Launch" settings to Manual in the battery options, disabling the apps from the "Battery Optimization" settings from the Special Access menu etc. but none of it works. Some have also mentioned to Disable or Uninstall the stock launcher to get back to the Oreo style Recent App card list as a solution. But I am scared to do that, as it can affect the future updates for sure.
It seems like our phone's forum hasn't been quite active so far. Its obvious as its a new device and people are yet to find and talk about issues here. Anyway, there is surely a memory leak which is causing all this. The remaining memory is always below 1 gb which is unusual in a phone with 4 gb of RAM. And it is due to this, the apps are being reloaded in the Recent Apps list to free up more RAM! I really hope Honor will look into this and find a solution in the upcoming update!
Please share your opinion or help out if you are facing the same too. Thanks!

I have an Indian version of Honor 10 Lite. And I am using a different launcher already. So you are saying, I can disable or uninstall the stock launcher and the updates wont be affected? You sure?
I wrote about this to Honor India's official page in Facebook before few minutes. And their reply was quite typical. They wanted me to turn off the android system and transition animations to free up the ram and stuffs. I clearly told them that this was a memory management issue as others described it. But they gave me this irrelevant reply!
I just bought this phone. I mean its just been 2 days. I really dont wish to regret my decision now. The recent apps keeps reloading every time I switch them. Its ridiculous!

Yeah, thats what I said too. I am using another launcher apart from the stock "Huawei Home". I have not disabled or uninstalled the stock launcher yet. Shall I do that? That is what i am asking!
A lot of people have said that uninstalling the stock launcher will free up a lot of RAM and also enable the Oreo styled recent apps card list which will solve this app reloading issue!
I just contacted the Huawei customer care and a lady advised me to record the whole issue and send the video to their service email address. I have shared this EMUI 9.0 issue faced by others as a feedback to them too. Hope they will fix this in the upcoming update!

Hey,
I can confirm this. I've got a model having 3 gb ram. I am using Microsoft Launcher and deactivated everything related to battery to test it out.
1. Closed all my apps via recent apps
2. Then I opened a folder in ES Explorer and went back to homescreen.
3. I went into gallery and watched a video for 60 seconds, back to homescreen.
4. I went into Facebook and read an article for 60 seconds.
5. Going back to Es Explorer (No matter via Homescreen or recent tabs) makes it reload completely.
This definitely is not related to not having enough RAM.
I also can't deactivate my Huawei home, it is greyed out. Right now i am seriously starting to hate that phone.
Alright I got it working more or less by uninstalling Huawei home via adb. it's not perfect (3-4 keep open mostly), but with the switch to card style in recent apps it finally feels not as sluggish as before anymore.

How To Get Pie On Your Note 10 [For them who haven't signed-up for the Pie Beta yet]

Since I can still see in the forum that many people are not getting Pie on their Honor Note 10's mostly because they are not aware that, Huawei is currently only pushing the Pie firmware for them who have signed up for their Official Pie beta testing...
You can still sign up for the Pie beta...They didn't close the beta registrations...
Here are the procedure to get Pie beta on your Note 10's...I have let many people know about this process but thought about sharing the details in a new thread so that more people can see it & get Pie on their phones...
1) https://www.wenjuan.com/s/aQFNBj/
2) Translate the page to English using Chrome Browser...
3) Choose Glory Note 10...
4) Your current operating system...
5) Your 16 Digit Serial Number (not your IMEI Number)...You can get your SN easily by dialing *#06#...The bottom one is your SN...
6) Put Any random 11 digit phone number starting with 17 (for example, 17865655679) & hit the Submit button...
7) After 12-14 hours, you should be able to receive the Pie update...Keep checking for updates manually...
8) After you get the Pie update, you will need to keep checking manually because the later updates like 181 & 183 "might not" automatically show on your handsets if you don't manually search for updates...
For your convenience, I'm also attaching a screenshot giving you all an example of how to fill-up the Pie signup form...
Best wishes...
If you face any problems, you can always let me know here or in PM...
EDIT : As of now on 28.03.2019, the Pie Beta signup has been stopped by Huawei...People who filled the form before 27.03.2019 got the Pie updates on their Note 10's but people who haven't signed up yet, can no longer use the form as the sign-up has been stopped...They need to manually search for any available Firmware updates when Huawei starts global OTA Firmware updates which should not be far away...
Check the official confirmation from Huawei about the removal of the Pie sign-up procedure in the attached pics...
Thanks. Filled it form. Now let's see what happens..... [emoji1695]

You just need to go to your settings main page & type the setting name you want to reach to, on the search bar at the top...
For example, if you want to find where the Gestures settings are, just type Gestures in the top search bar on the main settings page of the phone & it will show you all the settings related to the gestures...Just tap on the required settings which comes up in the search & you will reach there directly which will save your time...

Battery life is little bad on Pie & also loudspeaker volume is much lower than Oreo...
You can revert back to Oreo 165 using HiSuite if you don't like Pie...I am also on Oreo because of the before mentioned reasons...
Make sure you take a full system backup using HiSuite if you want to go back to Oreo because the Pie to Oreo downgrading process will remove all your phone data...

I'm a low to medium user too & I get almost 3 days (about 2 days & 21-22 hours) out of my phone in Oreo so yes it's much lower in Pie than in Oreo...It's a 5000 mAH battery so 2 days is not normal for low to medium users...
And about the loudspeaker, check the Android P 9.0 beta thread & you will see there are several people with the same problem...I put my ringtone & speaker volume to the maximum level always so I did notice the decrease in loudness...For people who do not listen to songs using full volume on loudspeaker or don't use the maximum ring volume, will not notice the difference...Battery issues are also being reported by other members in the below thread...
Here is that thread : https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-10/how-to/android-p-9-0-beta-t3886194
And here is one example of one such post in that thread :
dido4life said:
hello guys, last week I got the 9.0.0.181 update, it's faster and better but I noticed the issues below:
1- the volume decreased like 20%
2- battery life descreased like 30%
3- the stock camera app became worse as video stabilization is always on and there is no option to turn it off
4- brightness silder is not working it sould be
before 2 days I got the 9.0.0.183 update so I updated my phone hoping the previous issues will be solved but it got even worse, now the stock camera is unresponsive and the update did not solve any of the prevous issues so I rolled back to Oreo software...

You became a little late...They stopped the Pie signups yesterday night...I just woke up & saw this thread & by trying to find what happened with the link, I found that Huawei stopped the Pie registrations yesterday...Please check the attached screenshots for confirmation...
You can no longer sign-up for the Pie beta using that form but since the beta testing is over, Huawei should start pushing the Pie updates via normal OTA procedure soon...So, keep checking for any available updates manually & when Huawei will start it, you will get it & also all those people who didn't sign-up for the Pie beta, will get it...Best wishes....

They were all official from Huawei...At starting they were pushing the Official Pie beta to them who were filling out the form...Later they started pushing the newest stable versions like 181 & then 183 directly, skipping the beta...Since the Pie sign-ups are now stopped, they should be sending out the upcoming FW versions by normal OTA procedure...
Previously it was only possible to update to Pie by updating to Pie Beta 167...But since the beta testing is now over, Huawei started pushing the latest build 186 directly to the phone & like I already mentioned in my main post, you no longer need to fill-up any form to get Pie...If you want to update, just search for the update in your phone & I think you will get the latest build 186 directly...If you still not receive the update, wait for some days & the update should reach you shortly...
Thanks for the tip, I did a few days ago and received the update.
My analysis:
System more fluid and with soft and beautiful animations, sounds of the system, are pleasant. I liked the square design in the notifications for example, I liked the square photo on the dialer.
But, as someone already mentioned here, listening to music with bluetooth is not recommended, the battery goes down ungoverned. Just on standby the device already consumes more than it should, with games then, it reminds me of the cars of the 80's and 90's. I did not notice the low sound that they complain about, but I'm not the user who uses the maximum volume. Anyway, I'm returning version 165, I prefer stability. That's why I left Xiaomi. Hehehehe.

I want to but One plus isn't even trying...
Last time I installed Q beta on my 6T I was so excited and then so disappointed.

Hoping that this beta on the one plus 7 pro is better more features.

Installation just finished I will report back what I find and let you know if it's even worth it.
Let us know how it goes...
Had an issue with start up and fingerprint at first, rebooted and was able to get through fingerprint. I go through all the startup steps finally boot and oneplus launcher force closes non stop. Reboot does not fix this issue either, I was lucky to have Nova launcher restored from back up but now navigation gestures do not work. I will try another fresh install and see what happens but so far stay away.
I was able to get through the initial setup but I had to skip network setup because the keyboard wasn't working. The rom seems very buggy.
Things like the QS pulldown animation are very laggy, gestures work but are laggy too and OnePlus launcher can randomly crash when opening app drawer and causes screen to flicker. Location permission seems to freeze the whole app and sometimes the whole phone just goes crazy and the screen flickers and the touchscreen gets unresponsive... and I've only had it installed for like 10 mins. I'd stay away ?

I had to reinstall the preview version, then after everything I had to uninstall update to launcher, no more force closes and navigation gestures are working. And just as I'm typing this i rebooted device and now stuck in a bootloop. Going back to Pie for now.
Tmobile device converted to International.
SIM locked BL Locked
Installed from 9.5.7 - same errors with the launcher as everyone else. Updated and it smoothed out.
Calls only worked on bluetooth and speaker. (maybe a product of my locked bootloader?) I'm not complaining thought. It's beta software for devs and I understand that.
Why are people downloading this expecting a polished final product? IT'S A DEVELOPER PREVIEW. It's not meant for general users, it's to help developers to prepare their apps before the final version comes out. You're under no obligation to even install it.

Based on the posts above, I don't think anyone, including myself, is expecting a final product. No one appears to be complaining. It's feedback on their experience with the installation and performance of the Beta 2 release. I think we all know it's a work in progress. This is kinda of a heads up for others who may be considering installing it for the purpose of using it (with the occasional hiccup).

Why does every thread has to have some overseer come and tell us what we already know?
First of all everyone here was having a great conversation with good feedback regarding the update. No one said this is for developer's only? OnePlus also mentions "Early Adopters" please don't start with negativity just let the thread be!
On another note thank you guys for installing and reporting back your findings, It helps alot now I don't have to wipe my phone and install Q beta.

Lol I asked for a fingerprint theme where everyone else was requesting a theme and that GUY with the funny mustache the OVERSEER didn't approve.... Usually I get ghetto but I just kept it pushing lol.... Back to lurking because of funny mustache guy lol
Launcher kept crashing. Tried a reboot but stuck in a boot loop. Will get it sorted. Beta is beta. If you don't want issues, stay on stable.
Just a heads up, whoever still wants to give it a try do not reboot. After you play with Q for a few and want to go back to Pie. Go and download the downgrade and install. It's a little tricky because with me I lost recovery as well for some odd reason after a reboot.

Totally forgot about that, I should have tried pushing twrp as I was able to get it stable enough for daily use. But for now I'll just wait for the public Beta.

Agree. My BL is locked but a reboot caused a bootloop. I needed to use MSM to get back up.
Let me take a wild stab at this one...no 7 Pro 5G support?

Android 10 for Oneplus 7 Pro Sucks

Hi All,
So I have been trying to switch to android 10 couple times (3 exact) but because of it's bugs/annoyances it is really impossible to have it as a daily driver. Here are couple that I've found:
- bottom chin when keyboard is enabled (like really, what the hell. I know that for some folks that option is great and all, but it is making the keyboard unusable for me. I often touch the spot where the space bar should be and because of that writing seems very uncomfortable...
- LAG WHEN COMING BACK TO HOMESCREEN FROM APP - this is the biggest one for me. That problem occurs when you are using a custom launcher (like Nova, Evie etc.). Every time when you are coming from app to the homescreen, there is slightly delay in animation (like icons need some time to load...). That for me is biggest issue. Why do I need to withstand the lag in the system, when I have the fastest android smartphone on the planet?! Yet still i haven't found an solution for that (besides turning the animation completely off....)
If you don't have any those (or similar) problems and for you this update is gods gift then please don't respond....
I'am really disappointed with this Update and it seems that Oneplus is not going fix/change anything at all with it because they have already started rolling out the updates for Oneplus 6...
Feel free to comment on that topic
Thanks
Paweł
Just so you know the keyboard space is on every phone with Android 10, it is part of Googles implementation of gestures. It allows the use of gestures while the keyboard is open without typing or typing without triggering gestures.
Have you thought of using the stock luncher?...
@Snowolf940
Well Mr. Snow wolf, "sucks" is a relative term but I found 10.0.0 too buggy for me so I moved back to 9.5.11 and waited for another update.
10.0.1 solved all of the issues that bothered me except that annoying space under the keyboard. That made it so difficult to type for me. I understand the frustration there.
I stumbled upon this awesome fix yesterday here at xda. -100 did it best for me. The -75 was not enough removal of space.

I haven't noticed the animation lag on Nova (which I am using) you were speaking about so sorry I can't help with that. But I would genuinely be surprised if it wasn't ironed out in the next update which personally I would guess would be soon.
I hope this helps you. Hang in there man. There will be better days ahead.
I don't know exactly what the issue with the keyboard layout is, but my keyboard hasn't changed.

It has been stated many times across many threads here at xda regarding the space between the keyboard and the bottom of the phone when using gestures (not a nav bar). When someone is not used to that space, users are hitting it accidentally instead of the spacebar creating many errors in typing. If you are using a navbar this does not apply. The keyboard you are using is not relevant either.

I have heard that this option also cut the toast notifications which is bad
I am just really disappointed with this update. I have thought that the company like Oneplus just can't roll out so unpolished firmware.
Right now iam afraid that going back to 10 will be just waste of time....
+ I also recall that I was not able to turn off the Facebook messenger vibrations without completely turning them off...

I have not had this issue with the toast notification. I also haven't had the animation issue either. There are users having no problems at all on 10 so maybe you need to investigate more.
My only issue was with the keyboard and that modification fixed it.
You have other companies literally breaking wifi and data with updates so if OnePlus adds a space under the keyboard which has a fix, I think most will think it's okay.
But I would at least try the keyboard fix instead of just complaining when others are giving solutions.
The Facebook thing I don't know because I don't use Facebook and that app is the worst app for a phone known to man.
I've noticed some apps crashing, but I'm rooted so it is what it is. Overall no major issues here

Please do not disregard the problem only because for most people Android Auto works fine
Same thing with my issues with Android 10.
So after reinstalling it (4th time, full wipe every time ofc), I still have a delay when coming back to the homescreen from my Lanucher (it doesn't matter which 3rd party launcher I use). It's really pissing me off...
Once again, I do not understand comments like "for me everything works fine/ I can't see the problem". That's because either you are lucky one and Oneplus made a version of software especially for you (sarcasm on) or you are unable to see it... So please don't commit to this conversation if you don't have anything interesting to say. We all know that your version of Android 10 is pure perfect (please brag somewhere else)

Haha! This is hilarious! :good:
I saw that this thread was bumped and I was like, "this dude is still complaining?"
I'll report that I'm on ob5 and this is awesome. Android auto running well as is everything else. I guess I avoided the user error bug. I figure, if we have identical phones, and mine works great on the same software another is having issues with, it's either user error or maybe a bad phone and it needs to be replaced? Not sure.

What launcher are you using?
Oh, there's also no delay going to the homescreen on a proper setup. If you want to use gestures on a custom launcher, it has to have quickstep support and you need to use quickswitch to set it as the recents provider

What?
Honestly, I am surprised that nobody else has this problem with the delay or "notices" it. Of course I am happy for you! :good:
But unfortunately I also have this problem and it sucks really!
I have had the problem with Lawnchair, but the Nova Launcher also has this problem. Installing QuickSwitch does not help, it says that the launcher is not compatible with it...
That alone makes me think about either going back to Android 9 or trying out a custom Rom. But the problem seems to be widespread on Android 10.
Actually, the Stock Launcher is great, but I don't have the possibility to adjust icon sizes and grid. The presets are not enough. And I really don't like the drawer with this strange semi-transparent background.
At the end, i really hoping so that one or the either probem(s) will be fixed. I'm soo upset because of this crap but i should not be able to be so on such an high priced smartphone really...
Maybe you are mostly on Open Beta 5/6 and that lag is actually fixed?!..

So the last option is to roll back to Good old android 9 ;(

I have started to notice the lag on launcher when unplugging the phone after using Android Auto.
What fixes it for me is to lock the screen and unlock it again a few times and then if will become responsive again.
This oddly (or not...) also coincides with some server side changes that Google pushed to Android Auto to enable the new features.
Adding here that the theme changes have just gone worse with 10.0.2 - theme follows the car, so if you use a dark theme and the car is in daytime, it will change the theme on the phone to bright when you exit Android Auto.
Also, the audio quality is pretty horrid and still not fixed, but I am experiencing with a workaround and will report when I have more concrete results
