[ROM][SP:r35] LineageOS 17.1 for MicroG - Unofficial [last update: 20/05/2020] - Xiaomi Mi 9 ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other Dev

*** Please read this : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=82949289&postcount=212 ***
I maintain for my own use an unofficial build of LineageOS for MicroG, that I decided to share here.
What's included:
GmsCore, GsfProxy, FakeStore, maps API (MicroG core apps)
F-Droid Privileged Extension and FDroid
Aurora Store
Etar-Calendar instead of los Calendar (completely useless with MicroG).
QKSMS instead of los SMS app
Pdf Viewer Plus
Several NLP backends for MicroG : DejaVuNLPBackend, MozillaNLPBackend, AppleNLPBackend, RadioCellsNLPBackend, NominatimNLPBackend
Magic Earth GPS & Navigation: the only exception to my open-source policy for preinstalled apps
Carnet (notes app, can sync with NextCloud)
Several new search engines in Lineage's browser (Ecosia, Qwant, Searx, Startpage)
I also kanged some features from other ROMs that I really miss in los:
Smart charging (disables charging when a given level is reached)
Fingerprint vibration toggle
Swipe down to clear all in recent apps
I used @Cozzmy13 device tree and kernel, all credits go to him (and to all los contributors, of course):
device tree: https://github.com/Demon000/device_xiaomi_cepheus
https://github.com/Demon000/device_xiaomi_sm8150-common
kernel: https://github.com/Demon000/kernel_xiaomi_sm8150
vendor: https://github.com/Demon000/vendor_xiaomi
Downloads:
20/05/2020 build:
Many improvements in the device tree : see here. Among the most prominent ones are double tap to wake (DT2W), and fixes for ANX camera.
True black theme (can be enabled in theme picker when dark mode is toggled, by setting the 'primary color'). Not yet in official lineage sources, but submitted to lineage by Cosmin.
More de-googling : default DNS have been changed to quad9's 'unblocked' servers.
16/05/2020 build:
Synced latest lineage sources (security patch 35)
Synced device tree, some improvements under the hood
Kanged a new feature from other custom roms: swipe down to clear all in recent apps. It must be enabled in the launcher settings
Updated apps to their latest versions, and in particular Aurora Store which fixes many problems due to changes in play API
Fought a bit more against data leak to google: completely removed all references to google's captive portal that were still remaining, and changed default option for phone number lookup from google to OpenStreetMap.
27/04/2020 build:
Merged latest DT improvements, see here: wfi hotspot, IR, FOD...
Synced latest Lineage sources, up to security patch r33.
MicroG: enabled GCM registration by default, as well as DéjàVu NLP provider and Nominatim Geocoder. The goal is to make google-free beginner's life easier: there's now no need for an initial setup of microG. Advanced users can of course change this default behavior.
09/04/2020 build:
Merged latest DT improvements (see here and here). Most notably, NFC support added, FOD improvements, battery savings in AOD.
Synced latest Lineage sources.
25/03/2020 build:
Hopefully, camera and video playback issues are solved.
23/03/2020 build:
Synchronized to latest Lineage sources and device tree.
Camera problem solved thanks to latest additions to dt.
09/03/2020 build:
Synchronized to latest Lineage sources, including March security update (r31).
Synchronized to latest device tree and kernel. Many improvements, including one very important: Selinux is now enforced.
Removed DuckduckGo, and re-added Jelly (Lineageos' browser). I added plenty of search engines: Ecosia, Qwant, Qwant Lite (default on fresh install), several Searx instances among the ones that are regularly on top at searx.space (searx.info, searx.xyz, search.galactica.cat), and Startpage. I also added Qwant as suggestion provider.
Removed Aurora Services: useless when Aurora Store is installed as system app.
Replaced AOSP keyboard by OpenBoard from F-Droid.
Added Carnet from F-Droid, a notes app which can synchronize with a NextCloud account.
04/02/2020 build:
Updated a few apps to their latest FDroid version (Etar, QKSMS)
Merged latest lineage tree (this is done at each release...). Among other things, localization (language translations) has been a lot improved
Prepared the rom for OTA releases. Next updates will be proposed by the lineage updater (can be opened in Settings -> System -> Updater). By default, the presence of new versions is checked once a week (this can be modified), and a notification should be thrown. I'll carefully check each release, but maybe in some cases, your device won't boot and only a data wipe or flashing a previous build could recover it... But this is the same for manually downloaded updates... Use at your own risk! For information, downloaded OTA files are stored in /data/lineageos_updates, but downloaded builds can be deleted through the updater app.
24/01/2020 build: A clean flash is mandatory. You've been warned! Backup your phone before flashing...
Replaced stock SMS app by QKSMS
Replaced stock browser by DuckDuckGo
Preinstalled FDroid and MicroG FDroid repo
Preinstalled Aurora Store
Preinstalled NLP backends: DejaVuNLPBackend, MozillaNLPBackend, AppleNLPBackend, RadioCellsNLPBackend, NominatimNLPBackend
Preinstalled Pdf Viewer Plus
The APKs of all these apps come from FDroid and can thus be updated by FDroid.
What has also been done:
Reworked the launcher home screen: clock widget, desktop icons...
Preinstalled Magic Earth GPS navigation app. Although not free software, it has a strict privacy-friendly policy, and I am not aware of any alternative open-source GPS navigation app providing traffic information.
Fixed NLP backends random deconnecting, by a quick and dirty hack, in the hope a better solution to be eventually found.
Replaced supl.google.com by supl.vodafone.com for A-GPS. something went wrong with that, it will be for the next release
Replaced connectivity check for captive portal login (default is connectivitycheck.gstatic.com) by http://captiveportal.kuketz.de.
I will pursue, step by step, the ungoogling of that rom. Any clue or advice in that goal will be appreciated. My next step for a future release will be to replace default google DNS 8.8.8.8 by something else, maybe by Quad9 DNS.
16/01/2020 build: Clock FC fixed
14/01/2020 build: Initial build with minimal preinstalled apps. Added many ones in next builds.
Bugs:
The same as Cozzmy13 build, actually DT2W --> fixed since 20/05/2020 build
NLP backends: they are not automatically started in background (see https://github.com/microg/android_packages_apps_GmsCore/issues/986). At each boot, you need to manually go in MicroG settings and re-check NLP backends --> fixed since 24/01/2020 build

It ils probably due to encryption. You must format data, not just wipe: in twrp, go to wipe, select format data, answer yes. Beware: you will loose *everything* on your phone. Do that after flashing a ROM..

Dodgy bluetooth and no NFC seems to be a common issue on current roms, are they working here (like latest PE)?

NFC seems to be fixed in latest AOSP ROMs. I can't confirm by myself since I haven't updated yet.
Cheers

Any experience with Fingerprint Sensors? During the initial setup wizard, I was able to add three fingers with no issue at all. But now, i can never unlock my device with my fingerprint. It fails every time.
Thanks!

Update: I was also able to go into the Security settings and add a fourth fingerprint just now. It seems it's just the not working when trying to use a fingerprint to unlock the device or authorize other applications that use the fingerprint lock.

First he does is "E: Unable to decrypt FBE device"
What does that mean?
I tried it before and after installing zip but both times I get into a bootloop.

One thing I learned the hard way after fighting another LineageOS ROM install...
AFTER you flash the LineageOS with TWRP and BEFORE you reboot the device, in TWRP go to "Wipe" then click the Format Data button on the bottom-right and when prompted type "yes" to confirm.
This WILL wipe your internal storage as well.
Try that and see if it boots for you.

2.TWRP
3.Factory Reset
4.Zip installed
5. Data Format
6. Reboot/Bootloop
I can´t explain why this happens.

Ok, I've been using this ROM for about half a day now. So far it is really snappy and light-feeling. I'm guessing all that Google "bloat" slows us down more than we would ever realize.
So far, the only issues I've come across:
FPS - The Fingerprint sensor will let you enroll new prints all day long. But when trying to unlock the device, I'm lucky if it works once out of 10 tries. More often, it give me the "Too many failures. Try again later" message and I have to revert to entering my PIN.
Clock App - Launches Fine, but when trying to enable an Alarm or Modify an Alarm, it FC's every single time. I'm trying out a Third-party Clock App now as a workaround
Tap to Wake feather is not working whether the Always On display is enabled or not. Once you "Wake" the device with the power button, Tap to Sleep does work. But I cannot get Tap to Wake to work at all.
All in all, good stuff! The few issues above, especially the Fingerprint Sensor, may be the only things keeping me from running this as my daily driver.
I was running a slightly older LineageOS with GApps prior to this, and the Fingerprint sensor worked just fine. So it may be that Google Services tie into the Fingerprint/Security frameworks, causing the issues I'm seeing on this Google-free build.

Probably your underlying Miui version is too old. Current AOSP builds need 11.06.0 minimum. I assume it's the same for MicroG.

I don't think so. I'm currently on LineageOS w/o GAPPS (Koen build) and fingerprint works seamlessly.

I can confirm that the Koen build referenced here does indeed have a properly functioning Fingerprint Sensor and Double-Tap to Wake is working.
The thing this ROM from vince31fr has over the Koen build is that it has the base MicroG solution pre-installed and is already configured to allow Signature Spoofing.
With the Koen build, that will take some manual processes to get MicroG fully up and running for the folks looking for that functionality.

Clock force-close will be fixed in next update, thanks for pointing that out.
About fingerprint, I have no problem on my device: may be your firmware is too old ? You should be at least on 11.06, or a recent xiaomi.eu dev.
About dt2w, as I use @Cozzmy13 device tree, kernel and vendor and he did not fix it yet, it does not work in my build either. Koen uses @markakash device tree, where dt2w has been fixed.
Acutally I prefer using Cozzmy device tree, as it is specifically tailored for lineage, and does not need to be adapted.

Great news on the Clock FC fix!
I'll do a clean flash of your latest release and see how it goes. Not sure it's a underlying firmware issue, because flashing that Koen build the FPS works fine.
Fingers Crossed!

New build is out, Clock FC should be fixed.

:highfive: Hi neighbor
Thx for your work, will give a try to your build
Which fw / vendor recommended ?

The world i is small
If I remember well, I'm on xiaomi.eu 9.12.26... As I use Cozzmi13 device tree and he recommends global stable 11.06, I suppose that any firmware equal or more recent than these two should be ok.

Known Issues
FM Radio does not work
Sometimes wake up causes music stutter
Unable to un-pin screen without rebooting
Some users have reported issues with call audio (see FAQ for a possible fix)
Some users have reported low volume when recording video
Does not work on 4.1 stock ROM's bootloader, please upgrade to stock 4.2 before flashing
Additionally, Dual SIM has the following limitations:
Both SIMs are always enabled (no way to disable one SIM)
"Receive incoming call while data is enabled" is always enabled
Installation
Make a backup!
If you were on CM 10.1 or a stock ROM prior to 4.2, upgrade to stock 4.2 first.
Install ClockworkMod recovery with SELinux support (.tar) (.zip). Older CWM will result in a "status 7" error.
Reboot into recovery
Wipe data if coming from stock or another non-CM ROM (You may get a "staus 7" error if you fail to wipe.)
Install the ROM
Optionally install the Google Apps Addon
To upgrade to a newer build, simply flash the zip. There's no need for data wipe or flashing Google Apps again. (However, during this ALPHA stage, if you are experiencing strange issues, you may want to try a wipe.)

FAQ
Sometimes the people on the other side of the call cannot hear me
The real cause of this is unknown, but this is often found with people using the I9082DDUBNB1 baseband/modem. Some people have reported that flashing a different baseband (e.g. I9082XXUBMK3) has resolved the problem. A collection of basebands can be found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2496989. Or you can also try I9082LUBUBMK1 that I use.
How do I enable/disable Dual SIM?
Dual SIM support is enabled by default. If you only use 1 SIM and wants to disable Dual SIM support, you can use the following instruction:
Enable:
Code:
su
setprop persist.radio.multisim.config dsds
Disable:
Code:
su
setprop persist.radio.multisim.config none
(Instruction screenshots)
What are incremental/delta updates?
Delta updates allow updating from one version to another downloading only the difference rather than the full ROM, for those on limited bandwidth. They are named like "cm-12-20141206_from_20141202_delta-UNOFFICIAL-i9082.zip" which means that it can be used to update from 20141202 to 20141206 (simply flash it in recovery like any other update). Delta updates will not work if you have installed custom kernels or other system modifications, including editing build.prop. In those cases, downloading the full update is recommended (flashing a full update will not wipe your data).
If you want to restart from a clean state to use the delta. First format /system (not /data). Then flash full zip of any build. Then flash the gapps linked in this post. Do not flash any other zip or make any other modification to /system. After that, you should be able to use the delta. This will not erase your data, which is on /data.
How does OTA work?
Starting from 20141218 build, you will be able to check for and install update via Settings -> About -> CyanogenMod updates. Updates will be downloaded from the BasketBuild mirror. Delta updates will be used automatically if available (e.g. update to the immediate next build). Otherwise, the full update will be downloaded.
If after using the OTA, the version number remained the same, it means that the delta update was not flashed properly. See the "What are incremental/delta updates?" FAQ for more details. The error message is also available is /cache/recovery/last_log.
The Music app crashes every time I open it
There seems to be something causing corruption in the Media album art database. Clearing the data of the "Media Storage" application and rebooting should fix it.
To clear data, go to: Settings -> Apps -> All -> Media Storage -> Clear Data. Then reboot.
Login with Google does not work in some apps
Sometimes, on a fresh wipe, the phone language will be set to an invalid language. Changing it to a valid one from Settings should fix the issue.
Battery Statistics shows that Wi-Fi is always on even though I've turned it off.
If you are using "scanning always available" in Advanced Wi-Fi Settings, then Wi-Fi will always be on to scan for available network to aid location discovery.
How do I enable root?
Root is now disabled by default in CM. To enable root, first enable developer options. Then enable it in Settings -> Developer Options -> Root access.
I'm having battery issues

Can you include Feature X into your ROM?
No. This ROM will have CyanogenMod's feature set.
Can you include S-Note/S-Planner/MultiWindow/Insert Samsung App Here?
No. This is an AOSP ROM and cannot have TouchWiz applications.
Can you include call recording?
No. CyanogenMod does not include call recording to avoid potential legal issues. In addition, unless a stock ROM with call recording is found, it is highly likely that it is not supported by our hardware.
Can you add Feature X to the stock ROM?
No. I don't work on stock ROMs.
What kernel does this ROM use?
A slightly modified version of the stock kernel, the source code is linked above.
I've heard that Broadcom doesn't release source, how can you make this ROM?
Contrary to the popular belief, userspace driver source code is not always required to make an AOSP-based ROM as long as the proprietary binaries shipped with the device does not modify the API too heavily (or is from a very different version of Android). Instead of modifying the source code of the drivers, the Android source code was adapted to be able to use the proprietary binaries.
Can I use your ROM as a base?
http://source.android.com/source/licenses.html
Most of Android/CyanogenMod is licensed under the Apache License with other small parts licensed under other open-source licenses. Which means that you may modify and redistribute without asking for permission as long as the proper credits is given and it is not misappropriated as being the official CyanogenMod. (In other words, you must say that it is based on pawitp's unofficial CyanogenMod, but is not related to CyanogenMod in any other way.)
Will you make this official CM?
Due to the amount of work and commitment involved, I am not planning to make an official CM port.
For example, I would have to re-format the compatibility patches in such a way that merging it into CM will not break other devices. When critical problems occur in an automatic nightly build, I would be expected to fix it in a day or two because users would continue to download those builds (as opposed to unofficial builds that I can test before releasing). I will also need to justify every modification made to the ROM, as it affects CM as a whole. For example, I may not be able to include the Samsung-style backlight behavior or WCDMA-only setting.
Can contacts be saved to phone/SIM?
No. It is not supported in AOSP-based ROMs.
Can I send files over Wi-Fi Direct?
Yes, but you must use third-party applications. The implementation provided on Samsung ROMs is not an open standard. AOSP/CM does not provide a native way to send files over Wi-Fi Direct.
Can I mirror your ROM?
You're free to, but I will not list it in this post.
Will feature X from a previous version of CM be implemented?
I don't know, probably will be, eventually. I don't really involve myself in the feature-set side of CM.
Reporting Bugs
You are allowed to report bugs only in this thread.
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

- The CyanogenMod team for providing a great ROM. Without all the compatibility work which went into it, this ROM would've been much harder to make
- My real-life friend for letting me borrow his phone to work on this
- RampantRhino for donating a phone to help me continue with this project
Wooo... Lollipop for our Grand! Thanks.
What is the difference between this and this (unofficial). I guess there is none as both are pointing to the same downloads page.
Thank you @pawitp I'll test right now and report bugs with logs
Edit: ASAP

When M-releases come out, yes. But right now, I would highly suggest you to wipe as the code to handle upgrading some databases are not merged yet.
Thanks for the cm 12 update sir...... Thanks a lot ..

Thanks OP.. Wonderful ..
If anyone wants to quickly switch to Pawitp's recovery I have made a flashable zip you can flash it on any recovery Link -Opening odin for switching might be time consuming
Also because other recovery gives errors, TWRP gives update binary error
@pawitp you can add it to OP the LINK if you want .

[ROM][UB] February 10: JAGUAR SIRIUS LP 5.1.1 OFFICIAL HARDENED

October 17. Rom fixed: boots and works fine on Xperia Z3, which is like Z2 a Shinano device.
This is the Official Jaguar rom for Honami, which is based on AOSP with some flavors from Slim and Dirtyunicorn. The main difference from other roms is the emphasis on security and multiple features. With that in mind , let's see what Jaguar has to offer:
1. Hardened Kernel, modified M5; hardened rom built with HYPERTOOL 5.4
2. All ciphers enabled in kernel instead of just a few
3. Hardened/Fortified Bionic and Libs
4. Fstack protection strong to resist buffer overflows
5. Many System apps and processes are made read-only, to reduce elevation of privilege
6. Selinux replaced with Tomoyo Security, Yam security
7. Disc encryption, keymaster to 256 bit AES instead of 128
8. Latest TWRP with working brightness and ability to decrypt Data
9. Random number generation mixed hardware/software, as recommended by Linus Torwalds
10. Options to randomize host on every boot
11. Option to have a separate password for lock screen and boot
12. Qualcomm's Time Services disabled due to leaking on early boot (set time to automatic to get it from your carrier). Forget it. Jaguar now has Sony TimeKeep ported from MM/Nougat that sets the correct time locally without the internet or GSM signal. So, even if you are in Airplane mode, the time will be right on each reboot. All you need to do is to set it right once on a live device
13. WIFI Background Scanning disabled to prevent leaking
14. Internet disabled for both WIFI and Data until Afwall is set and activiated (Afwall included in download, install as regular app)
15. The phone is VOLTE ready and you have all network options available in Cell menu (not just LTE/WCDMA/GSM)
16. GRsecurity features, such as Sidechannel implemented
17. Some Pax Security Features
18. Option to deny USB connection: denied always; denied when locked; and allowed always
19. Hardened webview with Google and other "interesting" IPs removed
20. Prevention of bruteforcing screen pin: the phone will reboot upon 3 unsuccessful attempts
21. Perfect_Event_Paranoid ported from Grsecurity: now third party apps can't use other apps including system to elevate privileges
22. Camera hardware button works to focus, take pictures and start video recording
23. Option to disable writing to Tombstones (a lot of private info is dumped there if there is a crash)
24. Option to disable continuing writing of logcat
25. Option to disable device cameras: back; front, both or none
26. Always latest Google Security Patches
27. Always latest Code Aurora Security Patches
28. Changes ported directly from Google Android Gerrit, so most of those in MM and even N are in this rom
29. About 80% of kernel changes are ported into Jaguar kernel from 3.10 and 3.18 (not Sony AOSP 3.10 that has Down Syndrome, but Linux/Google/Code Aurora one)
30. Rom is odexed to significantly increase boot speed (under 30 seconds) and application start
31. DNS_Crypt that gives you a native option to have numerous Dns providers all encrypted (in Settings/Security
32. Seccomp/secure computing implemented and enabled in kernel
31. Many more security features ported from Linux and Copperhead OS
Other features include: Layers Theme Engine; Native Call Recording with interface integrated in Dialer with no restrictions; Privacy Guard; Native Wakelock Blocker; Native Black List; Global Menu; Slim Recents; Traffic Indicators; Advanced Reboot; Slim Pie; CPU Info on Screen; Ram Bar in Recents; Open Source Superuser included and integrated in Settings; True Offline Charging with Screen Off; Kernel Adiutor included (unzip and install as a normal app) and integrated in Settings; FM Radio and Recording plus more
Things users need to know to have smooth experience:. These are not bugs, but rather an explanation of some features
1. If you want to do data encryption, keep in mind that unlike Android, Jaguar uses 256 bit encryption. If you were encrypted on other roms, you won't be able to decrypt. So, wipe encryption and then re-encrypt on Jaguar. Also, keep in mind that if you ever did factory reset on official TWRP 3+ for honami, your data partition is screwed and have to be resized to enable encryption. This has nothing to do with the rom, but rather with the official TWRP itself. Fastboot my unofficial TWRP 3.0.2, which, by the way has working brightness, as well as ability to decrypt and mount data
2. Jaguar contains a script running on early boot, which cuts the internet access to both WIFI and Data until Afwall is running. This is done to prevent leaking, as well as having all your internet traffic routed through some interesting number of servers, including this IP: 26.147.196.22. So, install Afwall and activate it, otherwise, no Internet for you
3. If your system language is different from English and you want to make changes in Phone/Cell Network settings, switch to English first, make the changes and then return to your language. The changes you made will hold. If you try to make the changes in your language, you will have com.android.phone crash. Localization takes time and is virtually impossible to implement in Jaguar, which is a one-person-rom
4. Sony TimeKeep, which is ported from MM/N, now sets the correct time on reboot without the Internet or GSM signal. All you need to do is set it once and TimeKeep will save/recalculate/restore the same on each reboot
5. GAPPS: if you use them, you need to flash them right after the rom (or each update) and before reboot. Flashing after reboot will result in multiple f/c
6. Due to Volte implementation, you will need to flash (one time only) stock LP or MM baseband, but only if you have no GSM signal
Download: All updates and change logs are in Post #3
Instructions:
1. Be on LP, Have TWRP (fastboot my unofficial version), unlocked bootloader and root
2. In TWRP, wipe data/factory reset, then wipe System/Data/Cache/Dalvik
3. Flash the rom
4. If you use xposed, flash the latest installer
5. Reboot, install Afwall and Kernel Adiutor as normal apps; activate Afwall to have Internet
6. Enjoy the rom, say thank you, donate or do both
Warning: If your device and/or anyone in the immediate vicinity dies, don't blame me: it is all China and Russia's fault.

Development update as of February 16 and some Screenshots
February 16: I broke my Z1 screen again and am not in the mood for after market screens. And I am sick and tired of Sony crappy treatment of development community.
I am now looking at Lenovo Zuk Z2 or Z2 pro. Both excellent phones with the latest CPU and made out of metal and glass by Motorola which they bought from Google a couple of years ago. Zuk is friendly to developers and their blobs don't dumb down camera and they don't seek to "unify" bugs for all their devices. I no longer wish to support a fat bastard corporation that can't make a good phone, but thinks that just by putting their logo on the phone would make it worth $700.
RE Jaguar. I will continue to maintain Jaguar mainly with security patches... for a while, but my main work will be concentrated on Zuk. There is a lot of work to be done cleaning Android N and implementing security and other features from Jaguar...

The issue on Shinano was that kernel compiled with UBERTC 5 and higher wouldn't simply boot...
I have now published a fully working Jaguar for Z3 and Z3c...

Wouldnt flashing shinano rom hard-brick sirius?

Oh, please. Both Z2 and Z3 use shinano platform, but the roms are different for each device. This one is made specifically for Z2-Sirius... So, you won't brick your device if you flash it...

You do know that you have to long press on screen and then do copy/paste? On some apps copying doesn't work, but on most it does...
hi bro,
great work! this is so light and smooth in use
i liked minimum pre-apps on this ROM
but as you know copy/past texts not work at all! (copy function works very well but past doesn't work)
have you any solution for this?

2.i've get bootloop when i flashed xposed(arm-sdk22-v86) in twrp.
Is this ROM not compatible with xposed framework?
where is your unofficial TWRP?
I want to use AES 256 encryption on your rom.
In your post, you recommended using unofficial TWRP when i use encryption.
But I can't find your unofficial TWRP for SIRIUS.:crying:

PixN Rom** Theme friendly ** Better Camera ** exFAT ** Optimized kernel ** Substratum ** Clang ** Custom Settings **
This is my daily driver which I update occasionally depending on weather I need/want new features. There won't be any OTA's because of work. Do please also check the Credits section, and the Screenshots tab.
I do not have a single sim device, however I have compiled kernels for the single sim and dual sim variant both.
The kernel thread has now been split to be here since the kernel gets more updates than the rom (for now atleast).
This project has been renamed to show the my first forays into more *real* development.
Please use the Feature Request tab for feature inclusion requests.
It's also very hard to keep track of bugs reported here in the comments so please, again, use the bug reports tab...
I'm very thankful to everyone commenting, it's just hard to keep track sometimes, and seeing as DevDB has all the features required...
Since I also use XDA Labs which has no DevDB support it'd be best to comment AND add the comment in the required DevDB tab..

Please feel free to report more bugs, or even request more features but I'm not a dev so, no guarantees.
Installation Instructions
Eventually these will be flashable zips, however right now they're causing an error (IOError: [Errno 28] No space left on device)
So for now install by fastboot
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery_3.0.2.img
I don't recommend wiping userdata via fastboot so if you want you can always factory reset or clear Data, Cache, Dalvik and System from TWRP.
EDIT:- People having trouble flashing the system.img should try with mfastboot (fix found by @katibehi)
Downloads
The DevDB downloads are for the system.img and boot.img files only. They're in 7z cuz otherwise I can't upload them.
Get the latest kernel from the PixN kernel thread here.
Beta Release 1.999
This is in the DevDB download. The changelog is incorporated into the feature list.

Beta Release 3
MAJOR RELEASE. Go get it.
Beta Release 3.1
Bugs squashed. Notably the reboot.
Beta Release 4
Biggest YET!! Most feature complete rom around.
Beta Release 5
Bigger than ever (feature wise). First and only 7.1.1 build for our devices. Happy New Year!
Sadly this release is not on DevDB.. Since DevDB won't finish attaching files as of 1st Jan and I don't even know if it'll be back. I'm really hoping for a basketbuild account, cuz then I'll be able to serve OTA's. Anyway.
For now due to popular demand this release, Release 5 is uploaded to MEGA.
Beta Release 5.5
Still on MEGA.
The link to the folder is here
Beta Release6, 7
Mega again... Until DevDB is back up assume all future releases to be on MEGA for now.
The link to the folder is here

FAQ/Frequent Statements
Q0: When ${THING}?
A0: No ETAs. Don't ask.
Q1: You list my phone above but there isn't a build uploaded, why not?
A1: Haven't gotten around to it yet.
Q2: But when will you get to building it?
A2: Damn it, see Q0/A0.
Q3: How often will builds be produced?
A3: Whenever I get to them and feel like uploading.
Q4: But ${THING} isn't working for me. I cannot live without ${THING}.
A4: Not surprising, nougat is still young. Some features aren't ported and some may still be buggy. Maybe this isn't ready for you yet. And don't cry.
Q5: Xposed?
A5: Don't know. Maybe, maybe not. I'll ignore you if you complain about something and are using Xposed. Not out for nougat yet.
Q6: Can I complain about something?
A6: I'd prefer not, but be prepared for me to ignore you.
Q7: Can I report a bug?
A7: Absolutely. Please mention the kernel version and any additional files you flashed. Create a logcat.
Q8: When will you fix ${THING} that I just reported?
A8: Damn it, see Q0/A0. And if your ${THING} isn't something that bothered me, it probably just got shuffled to the back of the line.
Q9: Can I donate?
A9: Sure! Whatever you can. This takes a lot of time. Apparently not.
Q10: What is this "sdclang" thing?
A10: CM is using a optimized version of the clang/llvm compiler for official builds of Qualcomm devices. I'm using it for my own builds. See these links here and here.
I've depreciated this to move to Clang 3.9 (newer).

Well.... I'd suggest you wait for a while after the reboot.. Then try the internal camera in WhatsApp... That works for me..
Though the camera problem is basically across all aosp builds until Sony or cyanogenmod or someone fixes it...
First of all thanks for your great effort! this rom is amazing.
Well time to report.
First, battery life is quite amazing, over 5 hours of sot. (around 3 in stock rom)
Second, the 64gb sd card won't get recognized... but on the other hands 32 gb one works well.
Regards,
Jerry
P.s. if you would like to solve the camera issue try to dig into @infected_'s repo... His roms had solved the camera problem.

Thanks for the heads up I'll definitely look into it
I'm not sure why the 64 gb cards don't work...
I'm not having issues with my 128gb sd card but it did format it before it would work..
Has it offered to format the sd card?
EDIT: @infected_ also seems to have used the same sonyAOSP repositories for his aosp build...
It's unlikely but maybe a different tool chain might help... I'll check. Also they seem to be all marshmallow builds... That might also be behind their camera working better...
camera isnt working yet on AOSP, on the kitakami/msm8994 family and all others. with some hacks msm8974 was taking pictures, but nothing stable.
regards.
What about the battery life during the night for you ?
It started from 82% at 2:00 AM, and now it's at 65%...

Yikes, that seems really awful. I'd suggest you use naptime for aggressive doze.
You could also try the doze app which stops background data for chosen apps...
With naptime installed you should get much better battery life...
Did you clean flash this?

I can't flash system.img, fastboot shows this error
(load_file: could not allocate -1585037392 bytes
error: cannot load 'system.img')
I downloaded system.img two times but same error.

Which system are you coming from?
I think that error probably has to do with the larger size of the system image because of gapps being included..
Are you trying a full wipe?
finly i flashed it every think is good but camera dosent work. for now i come back to stock.camera important for me.thanks for your work
Is it possible to make this compatible with the E6653 device? The rom loads perfectly on my phone, only thing not working is my SIM card because I dont have a DSDS phone.

Yup it is possible and I'll release a working boot.img for the e6653 with the next release (hopefully today itself)
Actually the delay is because I'm compiling with uber but my first build was laggy as hell.

Why you don't flash this(http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z5/development/cyanogenmod-14-1-xperia-z5-e6553-t3493283) on your e6653?

Actually trying that one now, funnily enough it's not detecting my SIM card either. Never had this issue before, might be because I am in Australia.

Haha, you have no idea how excited I am right now. Eagerly awaiting that upload. Soon as it's up, I'll load it up and if all works well I'll use it for a while and give you some feedback.
Unfortunately the CM 14.1 ROM that was posted (which is for the E6653) cant detect my SIM either, lot of other people are having that issue too. Hopefully yours will be that stock experience I'm looking for.

Ok, so I installed Doze, Greenify (without Xposed, hope that it will be compatible with Android Nougat soon ), and NapTime. Without effect, always 2-3% drain per hour.
I realized that my device won't deep sleep, it was always in activity even when I wasn't using it.
I searched for wakelocks, and noticed that Google services were faulty. I disabled some of them after searched online, and it's better
I think without camera, the rom isn't complete. I am waiting for that.

I believe the sim detection in @fergy's rom has been fixed by him.. check the last posts in that thread...
I do honestly believe aosp is doing better than cm-14.1 at the moment, mostly because CMTE hasn't been doing well on the newer CM roms while Substratum is working really well...
I'm uploading a single sim kernel to release 1. Since the Uber builds are being more trouble than help...
Test it and tell me how it goes...

On release 2 (testing) with the Uber toolchain, Open Camera works... however the rom is overall very laggy using uber...
So I'll be looking into other opportunities...
By the way, have you found any non-stock rom (AOSP,CM etc) here or elsewhere with a working msm8994 camera?
If yes please link the repos here, I'll gladly try to incorporate it.

Features
Includes Vanadium, a hardened variant of the Chromium browser and WebView
[*]Minimal security-focused PDF Viewer
[*]Hardened malloc : This is a security-focused general purpose memory allocator providing the malloc API along with various extensions. It provides substantial hardening against heap corruption vulnerabilities. The security-focused design also leads to much less metadata overhead and memory waste from fragmentation than a more traditional allocator design.
[*]Security centric exec spawning model : provide each application with a unique address space layout, random hardened_malloc heap layout and unique keys / seeds for other probabilistic exploit mitigations like stack canaries, setjmp protection

There's no vanadium browser. Isn't microg included in the ROM ? The trust app says it's build for older android version.

The 2 button navigation is clashing while opening app drawer .it opens recents instead.

Vanadium is not a browser, its a webview implementation.
microG uniNlp is included. (Check op before asking)
The 2 navigation problem exist in los (base rom) too.
A few questions regarding MicroG implementation on GlassRom, i'm about to flash it
How to update MicroG if needed? (Microg repo on F-Droid?)
does it includes fake playstore? (i don't see it on screenshots so i guess no)
Can we flash another MicroG version like Nanodroid? (to customise it like , force system, location providers, playstores, init scripts etc...)
Can we flash Magisk?

u can flash any microg zip over prebuilded and update it via fdroid, rom includes only UnifiedNlp, magisk works well
==============
btw here is unbloated microg zip, only gmscore, gsfproxy and unifiednlp backends:

[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][11][R]LineageOS 18 for z5c (suzuran)[BETA]

Hi all:
Here is a LineageOS 18.0 BETA ROM for Z5 compact (suzuran).
Download 2020-12-11
This is a 7z archive with the zip'ed ROM and the md5 file in it. Please unpack this archive, copy the included two files somewhere to your device, reboot into TWRP and flash this zip file. Enable zip verification and md5sum checking.
Kernel sources
Tree sources
Features:
OS Version: 11 (R)
Kernel: Linux 3.10
Kernel 3.10.108
New: Android security patch level: 5 November 2020 (see attached screenshot)
Using Sony blob's from stock version 32.4.A.1.54
Important informations:
You should be familiar with general installation of custom ROMs.
Required for installation: TWRP 3.2.1 (pick the version from 2018-02-23!!!) There is a version 3.2.3 out there, but with that version I had problems to restore my backups. 3.2.1 is just working perfect for me!
This ROM needs a clean install, old /data may cause problems!
This ROM is NOT pre-rooted. For rooting you can use Magisk.
Working:
Phone calls
SMS
WiFi
Bluetooth
Fingerprint
GPS
Location services
Headset
LiveDisplay
Enforced SELinux support
Torch
German app AusweisApp2
Offline charging
Notification LED
NikGapps (pick this version: ARM64, 11.0, core [tested]).
New: Camera; both built-in camera (Camera2) and 3-rd party camera apps.
Camera2 may be a little bit laggy, please use 3-rd party camera app instead; for example OpenCamera. If you're running into errors, please report.
New: FM-Radio (maybe it needs a few restarts before it's working)
These things are NOT working:
Restart into recovery
Maybe some more things are not working.
Use this ROM at your own risk! It comes without any warranty! I'm not responsible for any damage! If you don't agree with that, don't try to flash this ROM in any way.
Benefits:
Added F-Droid and UnifiedNLP! If you don't want this, simply de-install it.
I've set maximum speaker volume to a higher value.
I've increased microphone gain.
I've changed the microfone gain to avoid echo in phone calls.
I was just gonna ask if you're planning on jumping on it after seeing the post from XDA. Am I assuming that whatever you did to make the camera work on LineageOS 17 didn't work with 18?

I'm using nearly the same source code that Tarkzim uses to build a ROM for Z5. And there the camera is working. I don't know why the camera is not working at our Z5C.
I have one or two ideas left; then I'll see...
Is there TWRP 3.3.1 for Z5C? This one's download link is dead.
---------- Post added at 08:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:38 PM ----------
So is there supposed to be a vendor partition? Magisk wouldn't install because it can't mount vendor.
New version out; see 1st post.
Camera working; both built-in camera (Camera2) and 3-rd party camera apps.
Camera2 may be a little bit laggy, please use 3-rd party camera app instead; for example OpenCamera. If you're running into errors, please report.

Yes. I'm using this version of magisk.
What about encryption capabilities with this ROM?
Never tried to use encryption; in none of my ROMs; not even in stock ROM.
So, please try it and report about the results here...
But beware, TWRP can't handle encryption at all!
New version out; see 1st post.
Fixed: Searching in the settings menu and access to the developer settings menu.

How did you work around the vendor partition?
And I don't think that's the official version (or at least the site isn't). You should try the one from GitHub in case they're different.
I remember the developer criticized Android Authority for linking to that site instead of the Github repo.
Edit: got it to work with 21.1

you can install microG by edxposed signature spoofing module.
i using berni's los 15.1 and i installed xposed and signature spoofing module then flashed microG so everything works good
But If @Berni-0815 build AospExtended rom for our device, (this rom better than los, becuse it has many many features like own wakelock blocker, ui customization, signature spoof...) then we will Very Happy
flashed this and successfully booted last night... ran it for the evening with great stability. also successfully flashed magisk21 with no issues. camera needs work before calling it a daily but super stoked to see this!!! thanks so much!!!
