Hi all,
I'm proud to announce SailfishOS for the OnePlus 6!
I think it's great to support alternatives to Android and help bring some competition back to the mobile OS space.
I really appreciate any contributions, bug reports or suggestions on GitHub
Code:
#include "disclaimer.h"
/*
* I am NOT responsible for you getting fired because the alarm app failed or if you destroy your device.
* Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this port.
* Same security standards as for official Sailfish OS devices may not apply here.
* Everything is served on an as-is basis and YOU are choosing to do these modifications.
*/
If you aren't comfortable formatting, flashing and generally dealing with your device, please don't install this ROM
What works?
* Display
* Touch
* LED
* Audio
* NFC
* Bluetooth
* Phone calls
* Texts
* Mobile Data
* WiFi
* GPS
* Camera
* Sensors
* RTC alarms
* USB data and charging
What Doesn't work?
* Fingerprint reader - currently unavailable on unofficial sailfishOS ports
* Battery optimisations - I will be moving to an updated kernel and applying some manual tweaks (possibly from the brilliant custom kernels already here).
* OTAs - I'm currently working on getting OTA updates working, when they are you will be able to get new updates without having to flash a new image!
FAQ
PLEASE read the FAQ before asking questions, I won't respond to questions about features I've mentioned there.

Very cool! Now, do you know what i need to do to port Sailfish to my OnePlus 6T fajita? I'm pretty sure there are quite a few similarities between these devices.

I'm hoping to expand to support the 6T in the future - if you're interested in testing I could probably create a build in the next few weeks.
If you fancy trying it yourself you can follow the build guide (https://github.com/sailfish-oneplus6/sf-enchilada/blob/master/building.md) and modify the file manifests file (https://github.com/sailfish-oneplus6/local_manifests) to use the OnePlus 6t device tree (https://github.com/LineageOS/android_device_oneplus_fajita) and changes some of the other config files you should be able to get something going!

I would definitely be interested in testing!
and sure, I'll try to modify the enchilada local_manifests to match fajita.

Hmm I'll give it a shot on 6T thanks for the repos and most importantly, your hard work!!

This is very great news, because I always wanted a real Linux+GNU OS for a phone! Tried porting pmOS to the op6 but with no luck. When I fix my ThinkPad I will try rebuilding it again. Good luck with the OTA's and the optimisations! Great work!

This is amazing and outstanding news. Are you going to create a Telegram channel?
What are the privacy points to using Sailfish vs android with no gapps?

Also what will it take to get the fingerprint reader working, if ever?

Also, when will you move to OOS 10.3.0 base?

Thanks you I'd be happy to create a telegram channel if people are interested.
I personally love the freedom of being able to have a full systemd based operating system in my pocket, but it entirely depends on what you value. A large benefit for the moment is that there will be very little in terms of viruses/exploits as there isn't a large user base.
I'd recommend checking out this wiki page.

I won't be able to work on fingerprint until Jolla make the UI code available, it's currently implemented in the driver.
Sailfish is based on Lineage OS not OOS, android 10 base support will hopefully be coming this summer.

tks !!!!!!!!
You are the best

thats awesome. time to root my oneplus. i've been waiting for this for so long. thank you so much.hope the build will be more stable in the coming days. appreciate the hardwork.

ok. short review. the rom os very stable. your work is so great that I have no word to thank you. however, battery is too bad for a daily driver rom, and no way to use whatsapp or other very important android app is a very unluky thing. but hreat work.

It will be installed when you click the download complete message. If it doesn't :
1. Check if you haven't turned on 'Install Software from untrusted sources' in settings.
2. It can't be installed due to dependencies, solve the dependencies first.

FAQ/Frequent Statements
Q0: When ${THING}?
A0: No ETAs. Don't ask.
Q1: You list my phone above but there isn't a build uploaded, why not?
A1: Haven't gotten around to it yet.
Q2: But when will you get to building it?
A2: Damn it, see Q0/A0.
Q3: How often will builds be produced?
A3: Whenever I get to them and feel like uploading.
Q4: But ${THING} isn't working for me. I cannot live without ${THING}. :crying:
A4: Not surprising, lineage-14.1 is still young. Some features aren't ported and some may still be buggy. Maybe lineage-14.1 isn't ready for you yet. And don't cry.
Q5: Xposed/Magisk?
A5: Don't know. Maybe, maybe not. I'll ignore you if you complain about something and are using them. Don't even think of talking about it.
Q6: Can I complain about something?
A6: I'd prefer not, but be prepared for me to ignore you.
Q7: Can I report a bug?
A7: Absolutely. Please ensure that you are running stock ROM and kernel. No Xposed or other hacky crap. Create a logcat.
Q8: When will you fix ${THING} that I just reported?
A8: Damn it, see Q0/A0. And if your ${THING} isn't something that bothered me, it probably just got shuffled to the back of the line.
Q9: Can I donate?
A9: Code, yes. Money, no.
Q11: My bluetooth seems to mostly work except it gets glitchy when I turn my screen off, put it in my pocket, walk away from it by more than a couple feet, etc. Why?
A11: Your OUI isn't recognized by macloader. We're doing the right thing for cm-14.x+ and giving EVERYONE the correct BT and WIFI firmware/calibration data. Send me the first three octets of your WIFI MAC address as well as the output of the instructions in this post.
Q12: Can I dirty flash from CM to LineageOS?
A12: The official timeframe for dirty-flashing from CM to LineageOS is over.
Q13: HALP, I restored a TWRP backup and now cannot get my radio to work.
A13: First, don't panic. You have a full backup, it's just that something weird is happening on boot of the restore. We can get through this. Go ahead and restore that nice, clean backup again (Yes, restore it AGAIN!), but DO NOT REBOOT YET! Using the TWRP file manager, delete these two directories:
/data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/
/data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/shared_prefs/
Now you may reboot your phone.

Doesn't Work:
CM ThemeEngine - Not ported to lineage-14.x
VoLTE - Didn't work on cm-13.0. Didn't work on cm-14.1. Don't expect great things, even devices from the same generation as ours that had VoLTE on M (e.g., bacon) don't have it on N.

Theme engine isn't working yet on CM 14. Themes are low on the priority list when it comes to CM development. Traditionally you start with the basic components (radio, WiFi, sysui and framework issues) to reach a stable base and then work on features like themes, Bluetooth etc.
For anyone wondering about the stability I'm really impressed with how stable this alpha build is. WiFi and radio is working great on my end. It appears Bluetooth is working though I've not really tested it thoroughly. Many of the root apps we all use seem to have several minor nougat compatibility issues but that's unrelated to the Rom itself.
I'm seeing a minor issue where it's not automatically detecting time zone on setup. A few appearance based settings are non functional it seems at the moment. Overall though the rom runs great and for an alpha its much better than I expected.

I'm sure that u are very Much aware of the bug call delay. But I'm reporting that once again in here.
The bug is like when receiving or calling someone the voice from other side is able to heard like after 6-8 seconds. Like callui is sticking for that time and voice too.
I'm sure ur aware so that I didn't provide log for that.
I hope this may be solved soon too.
But thank you all very much who are contributing for kite development. Thank you!

Nice!
CHANGELOG:
05.02
- Hopefully fixed the biggest deal breaker for selfie whiners, front camera, however, since there are 3 different front camera models for this device, let me know if there are problems, and if so, your specific camera model;
- New media encoding libraries, should be way faster to generate encoded multimedia files - this doesn't affect pictures, only videos and audio;
- New BT libraries;
- Applied patch as indicated by our great friend, Raziel. People with two SIMs should be good now;
- Miracast now should be working out of the box;
- Bad same thing: A-GPS isn't as simple as I initially imagined, I'll leave it the way it is for now, so keep it in device only mode;
27/04:
- Blobs from 8.2.4.0;
- Hardware GPS completely fixed (keep it in Device Only mode): High Accuracy or Battery Savings do work properly, but Google Services creates a wakelock requesting position all the time. Not really fixable at this point, and not anymore a priority, next will be front camera;
- Removed a bunch of useless stuff;
- Deep sleeping even better than before;
Me and Raziel are taking over msdx's and Ahnik's work, which are awesome developers, but are probably working on other devices for now. Once they come back, I will let go off of it, since they are way better developers than myself.
Note: Please, do not quote me to ask whether you should "wipe data before or after installing rom", or any similar questions.

I don't know if you did but msdx was constantly merging the new releases from codeaurora here:
https://source.codeaurora.org/quic/la/kernel/msm-3.18/refs/tags?h=LA.UM.5.3.1_rb1
Release list is here, you can see that our tag is LA.UM.5.3 :
https://wiki.codeaurora.org/xwiki/bin/QAEP/release
It may be a good idea to continue. Just something to consider.
Hopefully the sources can be released and worked on in the open, as msdx321 and Anik1199 did. Maybe rebranch on markw-dev repository?

Wow this is great!
Ok, guys, we might have solved the GPS wakelock problem. Keeping GPS on "Device Only" mode now works perfectly and the GPS sleeps like a baby after using it. However, "High accuracy" still keeps the phone awake, but I guess for now it's some good improvement. Also, updated our blobs to 8.2.4.0 (not sure if this is good or bad, haha). I'll test battery life now and probably post an update by tomorrow.

Important notes:
Why does the initial boot take so long?!
- I had to sacrifice dexpreopt because of wifi issues while it was enabled. This can result in pretty long initial boots or upgrade boots, and dexpreopt might run during the first time setup wizard as well, slowing down the system for an additional couple minutes. I also suggest to wait some minutes before running the SetupWizard if you use Gapps.
My RIL doesn't work, i don't get mobile data!
Sorry guys, some of you tried to force me to release Nougat Roms (and here we are) even if i haven't solved known bugs like RIL issues. Source is open for everyone, feel free to fix it yourself.

1. install addonsu-13.0-arm.zip
or
2. install addonsu14.1-arm-signed.zip
or
3. Do not install anything, already included in the ROM?

It's in the OP under extras. Guess what: the SU add-on for LOS 13 won't work on LOS 14, thus the new link in OP

Perhaps you didn't noticed, but besides your grateful expression there's another that can be interpreted as a complain to the project, and thus to the dev. Please, don't stress the situation any more, the only thing stopping you to upgrade to 14 is your lack of knowledge to fix the issue, it's not Andi's fault, he is doing nothing but progress here, maybe you could make some too.
Woah hey calm down guys ?
I read the OP and just expressed my remarks ok. Pls I'm not a troll

thank you Andreas for keeping this device alive :good:
I saw your post of LineageOS 14.1 on XDA when I was in school... I was so excited to get home to test it...
I tested it on GT-P3113, 100% stable, 100% fast, no errors.
Awesome work! Thanks, @Android-Andi

Awesome work, all works fine, camera works but the image is rotated to right but nevermind because I not use the camera in my Tab, thanks for the N ROMs
Don't let that idiot ruin your day Andi, you have powered my Tab 2 since KitKat if I remember correctly and I really appreciate it. I had a Nexus 5, and now a Redmi Note 3 but I still keep my Tab 2 for media purposes. It feels so good that my old device is still kicking and rocking Nougat and some newer devices are still on marshmallow. Thank you Andi.
I've never seen a developer like you even on the Nexus 5 thread or the Redmi Note 3.
@Android-Andi john99ap and me found a bug in custom builds of nougat that make it unusable. The custom builds of nougat will be smooth as butter one sec and super slow the next.
@theportal2 without logs I don't look into anything. Also detailed information are a must have.
@Android-Andi how would I do logcats, plus what I think is the cause of this bug is a mix of reboots with bad caches cause when I rebooted it started happening and when i cleared the caches the slowness was fix temporary.

Good question: I've seen three or four LineageOS 15.1 UNOFFICIAL ROM build posts for ONE version of ONE cellphone, so I am officially left confused by the weird levels of disunity caused by several separate builds. It's awesome that we ARE seeing several builds, like the one from the OP, but I am left confused by this situation. Can't the ROM developers UNITE and make ONE version of LineageOS 15.1? What are the functional differences between each versions of the LineageOS ROM?
This confusion is what has led me to just eventually stick to the Pixel Experience ROM.

Thanks for the explanation here. Much appreciated.
That said, in order to minimize confusion, project re-continuations need to be handled better.
Who can report SOT on this rom? Thanks. Sorry my english
Installed this rom today, so far so good, will leave a review in a day or two,
However i saw this new thing, not sure if this is a new feature added, when u install a new app, in app drawer a placeholder app is added and it shows the status of download, once done it will show the app name and will adjust accordingly, this looks good, pls confirm dev,
It is great , by the way remember me

[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][Sailfish OS][3.3.0] Sailfish OS for the OnePlus 6!

Hi all,
I'm proud to announce SailfishOS for the OnePlus 6!
I think it's great to support alternatives to Android and help bring some competition back to the mobile OS space.
I really appreciate any contributions, bug reports or suggestions on GitHub

* I am NOT responsible for you getting fired because the alarm app failed or if you destroy your device.
* Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this port.
* Same security standards as for official Sailfish OS devices may not apply here.
* Everything is served on an as-is basis and YOU are choosing to do these modifications.
*/
If you aren't comfortable formatting, flashing and modding your device, please don't install this ROM
What works?
* Display
* Touch
* LED
* Audio
* NFC
* Bluetooth
* Phone calls
* Texts
* Mobile Data
* WiFi
* GPS
* Camera
* Sensors
* RTC alarms
* USB data and charging

Good to hear, word on the street is there's some work getting PostmarketOS booting on the OnePlus 5, once I get a more stable release out - and ideally OnePlus 6t support, I might follow suit!
Unfortunately I don't think we'll get UBPorts any time soon, they currently only supported android 7 base and this phone shipped with Oreo
Sailfish OS Is very good on op6. I tried the previous release but unfortunately battery drain was very much annoing and It bring my brain crazy. I have got only this device and so I can't test every build cause i Need phone.
When the release Will be a Daily driver build, I am getting It on my device.
Great work. U are the best
Can't wait for stable!

Battery life is drastically improved, hence the 1.0.0 version tag. I'm not sure what you mean about "third party program installation", you can install storeman and get applications from openrepos if you choose but that's about it.

Wow. 4 times Better means that battery drains in about 3/4 ours. It Is too bad again!
Thanks for your effort and i Hope u Will be able to solve every issue. You are the best man.
Dear kalube, are u developing about battery life or android apps compatibility to use over the build? I ask u this because I am proud to read yout post and test your work. Unfortunately i Need whatsapp. Only this app. After that i could be your official tester. I have got only this device with only One SIM card, so I cannot test your work without whatsapp. I Need It for work group and Red cross group.

Thanks for SFOS, using it nicely.

Glad it's working well for you! I'm mostly focusing on postmarketOS now, Sailfish becomes harder and harder to build with each update and is super hard to get reproducible builds with so it's really hard to justify working on it which is such a shame because the UI is brilliant.

Wow fast reply?? Thanks for the kind explain.
Such a shame? I've used SFOS ports since it was 1.0 alpha(in Nexus 4), I hoped that by now the building environment would be much better... Seems like it's reversed.
Well, gonna use what's already on since it works well.
PostmarketOS looks great too! Real mobile linux sounds fun! I hope what you do goes well??
