NFS is on version 11.1 and magisk 20.3 so.. Update?

already updated but doesn't work

If you've updated to both the current Magisk and the current module, but things still don't work that means you've now got a different issue and need to provide additional information. And logs... Logs are nice.
But, also keep in mind that there already exists a support thread for that module, so maybe you should continue there:

No, the screenshot you posted shows that you are trying to install an outdated and incompatible module version (at least the second one, I can't see what the first one says, which is why an actual log is preferred over a screenshot). Try with an up-to-date Magisk installation and an up-to-date module (directly from the Magisk Manager Downloads section would be best) and if that still doesn't work you need to provide new (and more detailed) information.
Edit: If you didn't catch it the first time, here's the link to some tips on gathering logs and info: https://didgeridoohan.com/magisk/MagiskHelp

If you're still talking about the screenshots in the first post, those are not enough and not valid anymore... Those where, as you said, from Magisk v19.1 and NFS 3.5. Those are both outdated versions (with NFS very outdated and will not work with any Magisk version after v18.1, or thereabouts) and you need to update (as you say you've done).
If you've updated, both Magisk and the module and you are still having issues, you need to provide the new logs from the updated versions.
I've been able to see what the Magisk log screenshot is about now, and there are a number of mounting errors in there. Therefore it is necessary for you to update Magisk (preferably to the latest Canary build, to make sure you're running the latest code that might have fixed any issues you are experiencing), install the module (from the Magisk Manager Downloads section so you get the latest version), save the install log and the Magisk log and post them here.
It could also be useful to know what device you have, what ROM, Android version, etc... But all of this is explained in the links I've posted. You need to help us help you...

You can't just download the zip of the source directly... Github by default will create a subfolder inside the zip.
Either you wait for topjohnwu to add this to his repo, or download the source, unzip, and re-zip to fix the folder structure.

Gotcha, sorry. I didn't think that would work, but I guess I was confused since you linked it and the magisk module stuff is pretty new. I'll wait for it to show up in the repo.
This module does not work for me. After I install it, it says "module will be updated at next reboot", but nothing changes on reboot, and still no EIS.
My repo has just been accepted and therefore downloadable using magisk manager. Please retry your installation using magisk manager. I tried it myself just now, and it seems to be working.
I have the same issue when installing with the manager. I've attached screenshots of 1) the /magisk folder before and after reboot and 2) the /cache merge folder before reboot.
After reboot the merge folder disappears and nothing appears in /magisk/cache.

Apparently there is a bug in the cache module processing. I'll merge the fix tonight when I get back home.

Still, the weird thing is that it somehow works on my phone...
EDIT: I was installing in TWRP, and also deleted the module folder from /magisk/ folder. No wonder it worked on me the first time. However, I did several tries installing thru the manager and it worked too... Maybe because I never reboot using magisk manager prompt but always do turn off-on manually...

@grimsandwich, this is unrelated, but I can't seem to get phh's superuser to work on the 5x. were you able to get it working? every time an app tries to ask for root access, the screen opens and closes instantly. I've tried turning on auto accept but it didnt help.

Agh I can't get this working after having it work before I just updated to 7.1.2.
I dl'd the github zip, extracted, zipped the folders contents, added in magisk, said installed, checked magisk merge folder and it's listed, rebooted as instructed, and it's not listed in magisk installed modules. in log it lists analyzing module: /magisk/camera_60fps (ie another module I've installed) but not this one. What am I doing wrong? I've up'd the created zip from git I've created in 7zip: https://uploadfiles.io/7f3282
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Magisk Hide only works with core mode only.

Im using Pure Nexus with ElementalX kernel and magisk hide just works with core mode only. I have tried other kernel, deleted all frameworks and i have deleted all modules still same thing happening. Please help.
The Magisk log is helpful. Anyway try this from terminal
Code:

rm -f /dev/magisk_system/mirror/vendor

I already posted a thread about this. It's pretty much the top thread here atm In Magisk forum. Keep it in core only mode until Magisk 13 when it is fixed. Google updated their SafetyNet, that's all! The magisk 13 beta does not pass, but the dev has fixed it. Just wait for full magisk 13 release!

Until the full magisk 13 release, a.k.a not in beta, the only way to pass currently is core only mode. Check the thread I posted as I was the first one to report it here in Magisk forum. Even with 0 modules installed, you won't pass safetynet without core only mode atm. So easiest fix for now until full 13 release is to install magisk 12 and enable core only mode. You can flash any system mods that don't use magisk and you should be ok.

the new 6-16 beta, safety net passes, core only not needed

Hello friends,
I have ZenFone 2 running on LineageOS 14.1 and rooted with magisk. I can pass the safetynet only if the core mode is ON and magisk hide is ON. Thats all fine but my problem is after sometimes all of a sudden i cant pass the safetynet even though the Core mode and Magisk hide is enabled. I am unable to figure it out that exactly when does it happens. Sometimes i restart my device i am unable to pass but other times i restart the device it does pass. Its unpredictable. But i want to know the root cause of the problem. Why all of a sudden i am not able to pass the safety net even though Core mode, Magisk hide is enabled? Also my USB debugging is off.
EDIT- So i flashed a magisk module name "universal safety net fix" and after that even after turning OFF the core mode i am able to pass the Safety Net Hurrah!!!! All credit to the modder who made that module.

Magisk manager/app refuse to open after *recent* update.

Hey so I realized that Magisk won't open after update v22 if im not mistaken. It just opens, asks to do a "full installation", when I press ok it does some stuff in the background and closes asking to restart the app over and over. I'm confused why this happens as Magisk has worked previously.

I have a samsung galaxy note 4 (snapdragon) with a custom rom running on android 10.
goto magisk github and download magisk v22 apk manually then install it usually when that error box show it open google chrome but on your case it didn't ...
oh upon reinstalling it, it seems like the app "works" now for the most part but I have a new issue. I have lost root access and can't manage to get it working back. I flashed the apk in my recovery as the instruction said, according to twrp logs everything installed properly (didnt exit with any error codes) and after I rebooted my phone Magisks detected the installed state as N/A.
Any idea why?

Solving the same issue as OP right now. Can't see about disabling magisk hide in the changelog, am I at the right page? https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/changes.html

Anyway is there a way how to disable Magisk Hide without Magisk Manager?
Hello I have the same problem. I Updated magisk to 23.0 without disabling the hide magisk. Root seems to be lost , NA indicated in magisk. Magisk manager no more available. I can't see any magisk manager installed anywere. I did you succeed to remove one magisk manager ? Using which tool ? I use a redmi note 9 pro
A bit of a necro, so I won't tag the OP, but when something is resolved, you can either Edit the OP, or choose the three-dots in the upper-right corner of the OP, and choose Edit, and then add the tag:

in front of the current thread title.
The poster can additionally Report the OP and ask that the thread be closed, if necessary.

[Solved by 208]Today's( Feb 26 2023) canary refused to open

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this. I haven't seen this reported yet.
First specs: Unlocked Pixel 6 Pro. February update. Only mods are systemless hosts and usnf 2.4.0 displax mod 1.2. No hide enabled. No google services in deny list.
Opened magisk today and saw there was a canary update. I ran the update. And magisk wouldn't open (flash on screen back to home). Only updated app not boot.
Tried to redeem by:
Reboot
emptying cache reboot (did not work)
Emptying data reboot (dnw)
Installing magisk stable from github reboot (generic app icon no open)
Install magisk last canary (had to go to apkmirror for it couldn't find it anywhere else, works but would rather use official source)
Anyone else experience this with today's? Bookmarked github will wait to update til it shows a further update (unless someone has help for me).
I had the same issue but with originally hidden magisk app.
I got back to the version before the update by removing the hidden magisk (long press, info, uninstall), uninstalled the new canary (same way) and then installed the last version (25206) again.
now it works, all modules are there, all settings are back.

Not everything is well. You can't hide Magisk app under other package, Hide Option doesn't work. Some apps require Magisk to be hidden under other name.

Complete Noob Unable to Root Pixel 5a

Hello ladies and gentlemen,
I am attempting to root my Pixel 5a using the instructions here.
I chose the latest factory image:
13.0.0 (TQ2A.230305.008.C1, Mar 2023)
although I admit I don't know the difference between that one and
13.0.0 (TQ2A.230305.008.A3, Mar 2023, T-Mobile, T-Mobile MVNOs).
My bootloader came unlocked, so I was able to skip that step.
The rooting process seems smooth. Everything installs and Magisk returns no errors. However, I suspect the root failed for the following three reasons:
1) In Magisk, the "Installed" section for both "Magisk" and "App" says "25.2" and not some hash-looking sequence like in the screenshot.
2) The software "Root Verifier", which I got from F-Droid, says the phone is not rooted.
3) The "Hide Mock Locations" Lsposed module I am trying to use doesn't hide mock locations for the app I am trying to trick. The app tells me to "turn off mock locations", even though the "Hide Mock Locations" app reports it's working.
I'm really unsure what I'm doing wrong. Could you please help me?
You could have asked this question in my thread. Just saying.
Where did you download Magisk from?
The "hash looking sequence" is simply the Magisk commit stamp, as the screenshot was from Magisk Canary.
This is what I am seeing on my Pixel 5 with Magisk 25.2:

Remember that you have to grant root access to apps that request it. Go to this button in Magisk to see what apps have been granted and/or denied root:
Wow, thanks! Sorry for not asking this question in your thread.
I downloaded Magisk from the official Magisk github.
Your screenshot looks very similar to mine as far as the version number goes.
I did grant superuser access to the Verify Root app, but the app still reports that my phone is not rooted.
Ok ladies and gents, as @V0latyle suggested, it kind of seems like I am rooted. I guess the Verify Root app just doesn't work. Will update if I figure anything out.

I downloaded Magisk from the official Magisk github.
Your screenshot looks very similar to mine as far as the version number goes.
I did grant superuser access to the Verify Root app, but the app still reports that my phone is not rooted.

I've honestly never used a root verification app. Magisk generally does a good job of indicating whether root works or not; if I absolutely have to make sure, I just do something that requires root, like refreshing the systemless hosts in AdAway, or elevating to SU in Termux.
