I have a question,
On my ulefone armor 5E I installed magisk by fastbooting a patched boot. It is rooted now.
But I don't want magisk 20.3 but 19.3 or 19.1
Is there a way to patch a boot IMG with an older magisk version, but I don't have a recovery for this device. Can't find one....
It is because I like swift installer but that seems incompatible with magisk 20.3 VB (also on my xperia xz1)

i'm flashing magisk via TWRP, magisk manager installed, root ok, safetynet passed, but why magisk not installed?
You installed very old version of magisk. Latest version is 15.3.

I successfully unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP for the Xiaomi Mi A2 Global.
But what I was not able to achive is root with Magisk. I tried beta 16.7 (1671) and also 16.0 stable. And I discovered a 16.7 (1674) in the Magisk thread here. No chance. It looks good without any errors in TWRP when installing Magisk but nothing is there when I boot the phone.
Any ideas?

Which twrp that you use ? AFAIK current build twrp not fully working yet. You can root with magisk using magisk patched boot image (the only way for now until a fully working twrp is available)
I did it! Used this Magisk boot image and have Magisk 16.0 running on the A2.

I installed 19.x and 20.x magisk and all are Core Mode Only on my Xperia g8142 stock rom. 18.1 is the only that works the rest is pure ****. Some of the modules I use won't install because is requesting 19.x is there a way to change requirement for 18.1? I found nothing about old modules.

Hi all, the new magisk 24.1 installing only patching boot or recovery imgs depending if phone has ramdisk or not.
Magisk says that mi9lite has no ramdisk so must be installed into recovery partition. but is really magisk installed in recovery?
Is this phone an exception? Because I have many times updated twrp but magisk didnt need to be reflashed.
I think it has ramdisk. Even when magisk says it has not. If I remember correctly when I got my phone back in december '19, magisk showed ramdisk: yes.
Two weeks ago I clean flashed the lastest xiaomi-eu stable, installed magisk through twrp (renaming magisk.apk to magisk.zip) and is working just fine. (for me at least)

I can confirm that mi 9 lite (pyxis) does have ramdisk.
Just flashed LineageOS 18.1 20220303 build, downloaded latest Magisk v24.3.apk from github, renamed it to .zip and flashed it via TWRP 3.6.1_9-0.
Added safetynet-fix in Magisk and all the checks pass, playstore is certified and banking apps etc. work.
My device has a ramdisk omg file on firmware but magisk says no ramdisk
So I've been trying to install magisk but it just goes into a bootloop, I've been trying magisk 24.3 and I'm on android 11, I've extracted the boot img myself and still no dice, looking for any help
