[DISCUSSION] Realme UI V1.0 Beta & later versions - Realme X2 Guides, News, & Discussion

Dear Realme X2 users, please share your reviews and opinions for Realme UI about performance, multitasking, battery life, bugs and etc here; so we can help people to decide that it is wise to upgrade to Android 10 or not.
Thank you.

Is in the Realme UI 1.0 also an DT2W (double Tap to wake) feauture? When the screen is off, double tap the screen to show in there are any notifications and maybe show the time? I just know there is an AOD (always on display), but i would like to have the display off, and double tap the display and see the time and if there are any notifications.

Would also be interested. Better camera Software maybe?

Full screen gestures - global beta rom

Upgraded to latest global beta rom 8.1.18 yesterday and have to say I am loving how xiaomi implemented the new screen gestures feature. Once I got used to it whizzing around between apps in full screen mode is a beauty on this phone.
The rom also seems excellent and bug free overall. And with the updated notifications working properly finally I don't feel like the xiaomi rom is second best anymore.
Yes, i also likes that new gestures, but i like to use One hand mode - and it not work in gesture mode .
Can you please share some screen shots of the new update?

The only significant visual difference is the new gestures setting

Huawei P30 Pro Features - Question?

Hi!
Does the Huawei P30 Pro have the following features:
- Always On Display with ALL 3rd party notifications?
- Double-tap to sleep from home AND lockscreen
- Double-tap to wake from Always On Display
Thank you!
Yes the AOD supports all 3rd party notifications as long as they appear on the status bar. There are exceptions to this, for 'silent' notifications that only appear when you pull the bar down.
I don't believe that it supports double tap in any way, shape or form. With regards to tap-to-sleep this wouldn't work as the double-tap gesture is used to take a screenshot.
Double tap to wake from AOD is not supported either, however if you have fingerprint unlock it is kinda 'one-tap-to-wake' as you place your finger on the fingerprint scanner and the screen comes on.

Good to know about 3rd party notification on the AOD. Do the icons stay on the AOD even if you wake the phone up, but do not act on those notifications?
I'm asking because the way Xiaomi Mi 9 handles this is a complete mess.
Thank you!

No. When you unlock the phone (even if you don't dismiss the notifications) the icons will disappear from the AOD until another notification from the same app comes through.
For example, if you have a whatsapp message and unlock the phone the WA icon will disappear from the AOD until you receive another WA message.
EDIT: The exception to this is persistent notifications. For example I have VPN Unlimited. If this is connected then the icon remains. Likewise with WhatsApp Web notification, that remains.

Ah. I see. What an odd implementation. Xiaomi did the same thing. Good to know.
Are you happy with your Huawei? I'd mostly get it because of the camera.

To each their own, but I think it makes perfect sense. If I have unlocked the device then I am aware of the notifications - they don't get removed from the phone, just the AOD. Much in the same way a notification LED would handle it on a Samsung or other device. I would, if I could, get rid of the persistent notifications on the AOD, but other than that I don't mind.
Am I happy with the Huawei? In a way, yes. I got it for the camera and I am very impressed with it, unless you wish to shoot video. If you want to shoot video (with special mention of super-slow-motion videos) then you should look to get a different device - In my opinion.
The still photography is better than pretty much any other phone that I've ever used or come across and the night-time photography is also excellent. Video wise the panning stutters a little, the slow motion is purely interpolation (the sensor only captures 240fps, not 960 as it claims) and the colours in video seem... unrealistic. Sometimes too soft, sometimes too vivid. It's good, but not as good as others on the market for video.
Hello all,
I'm currently in China and would like to buy a P30 (Pro) and use it in Europe / Germany.
Are there different hardware specs (e. G. Lte bands) except for the obvious memory and storage options?
Thank you very much ?

It's finally here and you can now download it! Stable Android 11 on Realme X2. FIRST IMPRESSIONS AND REVIEW
Credits to @dev_harsh1998 for the hard work and dedication in bringing the first stable Android 11 Rom barely 5 days that it was released by Google to Pixel devices and now it has been also publicly released with source.
Okay, now that I am through with the formalities, let's check out what's new with Android 11.
What's New?
There is no complete UI overhaul from Android 10 but there are plenty UI changes that are so pleasing to the eyes like the new power off interface, notification arrangements, Bubbles and lots more.
The power menu has been revamped (see screenshot below) and is now more useful than ever. You can now add all kinds of controls in the power menu and even full screen cat games...
Notifications have been completely transformed with system wide notification bubble.
All new built in Screen Recorder that can record system's internal Audio and mic.
Super enhanced privacy settings with new One time only permission
There is so much to Get you excited about the new Android 11
PERFORMANCE
The Android 11 user interface is so smooth, you'll probably get emotional attached to the experience.
Everything is so smooth and the animations are just fun. Switching apps, opening apps, playing games etc.
BATTERY LIFE
Battery backup is good, a little bit better than what I get in Android 10 probably because I haven't installed over 120 apps... ? Idle and background apps battery consumption was also great.
What's Working
Boots
RIL (Calls, SMS)
Mobile data
Bluetooth
WiFi/hotspot
VoLTE, VoWiFi
Media (audio/video)
Camera(s) all lenses
Camcorder
GPS
OnScreen Fingerprint sensor (FOD)
NFC (1991/1993)
CTS Green
Encryption
DRM
Sensors
etc.
Bugs?
headphone jack audio routing
There is no magisk yet so you might have to experience life without root on Android for some time before magisk for Android 11 will be released so,
What are you for see it for yourself and possibly flash
IT
Check out the Android 11 (AOSP) Realme X2 XDA thread here
For flashing instructions and download links.
Thanks for the detailed review. Will try this out once stable magisk for android 11 rolls out as I cannot live without root on my device.

Fingerprint sensor SM-986B

Hi,
A new topic specifically for that topic:
I have the SM-986B (exynos) and saved 4 fingerprints.
The fingerprint reader is horrible, it's in the bottom of the screen and it usually takes me 4-5 seconds to register and unlock.
I have my old Redmi note 5 pro nearby, with proper fingerprint reader in the back, it takes hardly 1/2 seconds to unlock.
Comparing the two is obvious, that component is a big failure (to me). Too slow, not precise enough.
Overall it impacts my feel for the phone.
Very true the Finergprint sensor could have been better and more responsive
You most likely have battery optimization on for the fingerprint reader. Disable it in advanced battery settings, my phone unlocks almost instant, same speed as oneplus 7 pro in-display fingerprint reader.

Search Optimise Battery usage => Special Access => optimise battery usage => show All => untick com.samsung.android.biometrics.app.setting
Remove Com. Qualcomm.buometrics from app optimization.
>important >>Tap the fingerprint icon, don't press.
Limit animations.
Use dark colour lockscreen wallpaper.
Make sure your screen protector is fingerprint reader compatible.

Question Repeat Notification on screen...?

Hey all, just picked up a mi 11 ultra, coming from a OnePlus 7pro. I have plus beat on my 7pro to show me on screen notifications from sms, email etc... Trying to find something that works on the Mi11 ultra, so far I've tried plus beat and AOE but I can't seem to get either to work. AOE will do a notification one time, but won't repeat after 5-20 seconds after the initial notification.... Anyone else attempting this, or have found a solution to have screen notification reminders?
I'm using Glimpse Notifications:
[APP] Glimpse Notifications
~~~~~~ Introduction ~~~~~~ Using Android Lollipop/Marshmallow's lock screen notifications? Tired of having to press the power button to see them? Want your phone to turn on new notifications, but only when you grab to look at it? Want your...
forum.xda-developers.com
Very good app, many configuration options available, no battery drain.
Anyway, Plus Beat for Oneplus 7Pro is unbeatable, Xiaomi is missing the Ambient Display...
Perfect, thanks I'll give that a shot!
Thanks that works, not nearly as nice as plus but will do the trick, hopefully the pocket detection works...
I don't get why this isnt implemented into phones as an option... Repeat notifications
