I faced the same issue after a wrong flash and had to do a test point, enter EDL and reflash using miflash.

Maybe if you have good luck, you could enter EDL mode with a deep flash cable

Good news so. Just download the fastboot version of the miui rom you want, download miflash tool (Google it) and use it to flash the rom. You can find full steps by step somewhere in the xda threads.

No need to enter in fastboot mode with miflash that's the point with this method. But you'll loose everything on your phone

Thank you, will try now, but will take some time to download the rom, will definitely update on the process once i tried it. i really appreciate your reply, hope this works. thanks once again.
a million thanks
It worked, You are a life saver,:good::good::good::good: thank you very much for your assistance.
I would first recommend you to download any Mi 5 Fastboot image from MIUI forums than install it in Fastboot mode (Hold Volume down+ Power button) through ADB or MIflash tool.
Afterwards recharge your phone fully and then proceed to install TWRp and custom ROM (provided you have unlocked bootloader)

Guys I wanted to install custom roms in my Xiaomi mi 5 , therefore got my bootloader unlocked and installed twrp recovery through adb . After that , I wiped my miui ROM after taking its backup and tried flashing aoscp ROM , which didn't flash . Thereafter , I restored the previous ROM and now whenever I reboot , it gets stuck on the initial startup screen where Mi logo is there .
Kindly suggest on what to do next since this is very worrying issue for me . Regards

[Help] Mi Mix with no rom and locked bootloader, can't enter recovery.

Hi everyone,
everything is in the title, yesterday I bricked my Mix when I tried to install a new version via recovery (Mi Pc suite chinese version).
It updated, started working (I entered the rom) then restarted because it asked for a reset, had to say yes, when it restarted I was in a bootloop of Xiaomi logo and couldn't go into recovery mode anymore.
Only fastboot works, but still can't install rom via because I didn't unlocked the bootloader yet and didn't check for usb debugging.
Any ideas would be really appreciated.
Regards

So you still be able to flash official with miflash?
When I try to flash via Mi flash it says critical partition error thing (probably because I still don't have unlock the bootloader)

Shouldn't need unlock to install genuine ROM from xiaomi with miflash, you are using the fastboot ROM right?
Likewise USB debugging shouldn't be necessary, as far as I know. Like if you have no ROM it wouldn't know anything about USB debugging.
Yes I'm using fastboot rom
On this page: http://en.miui.com/a-234.html You can see Mi Mix is listed as it needs to unlock before any flash with fastboot.
When I try flash with MiFlash, it says Flash xbl error : https://i.imgur.com/ct0xAQY.png

You have unpacked the file correctly?
Think they mean if you're not using miflash.

Don't know if it would work on mix
Yes I did, with all the bat files the images folder.
I'll try one more time when I get home.
Or wait some days to get the unlock permissions by xiaomi

Might be safer to just wait. If you do it now you will have to do it again in a day.
I tried to unlock again with no success, it says error because I didn't enable the "OEM Unlock" option..
Any suggestions?

Have you tried reinstalling the recovery,
From command prompt or from the same command prompt , reboot recovery. Any of these useful?

I'm sure you have disabled driver signature on Windows but just checking.

Redmi 4 (Santoni) bricked. Please help.

I unlocked my redmi 4 (Santoni) boot loader and flashed pixel experience ROM (https://mega.nz/#F!INZgnAZI!9fuWhfCuazOO5YPBjxGlmA). It was working fine for a few days (Small heating issue was there). Then one day while i was charging the phone the phone turned off and never turn back on. When i try to switch on the mi logo flashes for a split second and then turns off. I tried to get into recovery but couldn't.
I can get into fastboot mode. I tried flashing the phone using Mi flash tool and fastboot rom. But it shows an error "flash tz error". When i tried an old version of mi flash tool i get the "Unspecified error (0x80004005: FAILED (remote: Critical partition flashing is not allowed))
Please Help.....

Have you tried installing TWRP via fastboot?
I had the same exact problem, i put my phone on charge & when i came back to check it was switched off. It wouldn't turn on except the mi logo. I tried to flash through fastboot turns out my bootloader was re-locked for some reason. I had to re-unlock it then proceed on to fash fastboot miui rom. Check if your bootloader is locked or not.

This is a good idea! Probably u first try to install trwp in fastboot mode. If this doesn't work try to unlock bootloader again and then install trwp.
When all these Option doesn't work u still can open the phone and use edl fastboot mode to flash miui again.

Tried unlocking boot loader and was not successful because the phone was bricked. My only option was to use edl test point. Now i installed miui 11. (Aprart from some minor bugs which can be eliminated by reflashing some other roms) Thank you guys. Now my phone is successfully unbricked.
For somebody who is having the same issues,
My phone (Redmi 4_Santoni) was completely bricked. The only thing i can access was fastboot by pressing the volume down + Power button combination. But i could not install twrp or any other recovery because my boot loader was locked. I got it fixed completely with the help of you guys (Thanks again) and i want to share the procedure i went through.
Condition: Completely bricked with only fastboot access, Locked bootloader.
I tried this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j27x5iJSS40) but failed because i could not access recovery. So my only solution was to use edl test point flashing. I followed this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74818435&postcount=3. It was very easy to do. But in the device manager (Press Windows key + R and then type devmgmt.msc and press enter) instead of showing "Qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008", the device is shown as "Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 900E". The problem was you have to plug in in USB cable while the test points is being connected with a pair of tweezers or a paperclip as shown in the link above.
Make sure you already downloaded the latest mi flash tool from here https://xiaomiflashtool.com/ and download fast boot rom from the official website. (Go to https://en.miui.com/ Click rom downloads. Click flashing guide. Download the fastboot rom from there for your device.) Now flash your device using mi flash tool and voila. your phone is unbricked.
Thank you guys..

Maybe someone can help me with flashing a ROM (I have a problem)

So, I have Xiaomi MI 8. Problem is, that phone is without any ROM at the moment. I did flashing and by mistake locked the phone, when checked in MiFlash box, where says "flash and lock" or something similar. So my phone fastboot is locked now and I cant flash it, because I locked and in MiFlash shows error.
I can also use Miunlock, because debbuging is off, because I cant even turn it on. ADB is not working also without debbuging allowed. Any ideas what can I do? how to flash my OS?
I fixed it with test points

Question REDMI NOTE 10S (Your system has been destroyed+ locked bootloader) error

I have redmi note 10s. I bacame bored of miui because of several bugs. So i decided to mod the device with a nice custom rom. I started the process. Because it is a mtk device, it has complicated flashing process than snapdragon devices. I entered the fastbootD mode and cleared the system by using adb command(which i dont remember). Then i flashed the custom rom. By mistake, I locked the bootloader by typing adb command fastboot oem lock. But now due to complicated case, the device is showing your system has been destroyed and when i try to force reboot it into fastboot, it still give systen destroyed error(means fastboot mode is inaccessible). Can anyone please help me to fix this issue without using edl pins? I am in a great issue
I cant go to service center as my device is out of warranty
in google there is a pc program than can unlock bootloader of mediatek devices, search for it
Bro i cant access the bootloader, so unlocking it doesnt make any difference
I want to restore the bootloader.

Okay so first of all download "mtk client"
Than open the mtk client
It will give you instructions on how to connect your phone, take back of everything except system(super),vendor and userdata. Tap on flash tab there you'll notice a option called unblock bootloader tap on it and your bootloader will be unlocked
Bro Will this restore my bootloader or only unlock it because if it only unlocks then your help wont work.

You need to see the PM I've sent to you. You will find it here.
Start from BROM mode - that is always available. Then you can use mtktool to restore everything. I have an article about it on my blog, but I am not supposed to post it here... find it in my profile, or send me a PM for help.
