Understood. Format your phone from the wipe this will delete everything as you don't have any option right now. After this reboot to recovery and transfer rom from your pc remember to mount storage and flash the rom no further wipe is required.

It's encrypted that's why you are getting like this, just format from twrp this will be solved.
One more thing, have you tried updating your twrp to latest version?
Because latest version supports encryption.

Yes, i do have twrp to latest version of twrp-3.3.1-0-cepheus.img
Should I use stock rom (MIUI) or can I use xiaomi.eu?

I am new to this. Does format mean factory reset?
And when I do this will I be able to put the rom in the phone?

No, it clears everything which are encrypted. Once formatted you will be able to see your phone memory in your pc and transfer rom for installation.

Flash a rom using OTG pen drive... Twrp detects it

Download a stock firmware for your device model, and flash it using Odin.

Cant get ROM to boot

Hope someone can help with the problem I am having flashing roms. I have already flashed a few roms to my unlocked mi5 but now I can't seem to get them to work. I have downloaded both versions of 7.3.50. I am currently on cm 13 and thought I would see if the latest official was any good. I have flashed it using twrp and also miflash. They flash ok but on reboot it sits for ever at the mi/android screen with the three dots moving (waited half an hour). Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?
You use Miflash beta version or not. I recommend it work. also should clean all.

I got it to work with Miflash. Only problem is the storage is then encrypted so TWRP cant see it. To disable the encryption have to erase data but then I am back to square one with having to flash it again??
Ok just an update. Managed to get the 7.3.50 rom installed but still could not get sd card encryption removed. Ran with the rom for a day but decided cm13 is better. Because I could get to the sd card to put cm zip file on for twrp to flash it, I had to use adb sideload. Once cm13 was on I was then able to copy my cm13 twrp backup to the storage and restore the backup using twrp. Next time I have a stupid idea to go away from cm13 to the official rom somebody remind me of this.

I messed up Help

OK I was going to give my Nexus 6 to my brother I got a new phone. So I was going to flash a rom and let him start fresh. Well when I was going to wipe I stupidity wiped internal memory. So now the phone is empty? I did not exit out of recovery so I am still in there is there any thing I can do? Even if I have to go back to stock without root that's fine?

You could flash a pre rooted stock rom.

I am stressed a little because I promised him this phone in the morning. I know better than that I have been flashing for a while now. Guess everyone screws up sometime. I have never bricked a phone or had to flash stock on a phone.

it is a stock rom. Uninstall SuperSU and you're done. It an easy way.
But flashing a factory image is also an option.
But more hassle.

Just remain in recovery mode, download the ROM provided or any other you wish. If you want to get it to stock, that requires fastboot which is up to you depending on the time you have as well as the proper drivers installed on your PC. But anyway, easiest method is to transfer that ROM to your device and flash it from your recovery along with gapps. Afterwards, you can uninstall SuperSU and you won't have root anymore
Your problem will be solved within 10 minutes tops

Good addition.
And the lite stock rom of Danvdh already has most important G-apps installed.

Man, just reboot to the bootloader and flash manually the latest factory mage. If you don't know and don't care to learn, use nexus root toolkit and be happy.

How to go back Stock ROM from CM?

How to back from Cyanogenmod to MIUI official global ROM?
Any help?
Factory wipe and flash recovery image of MIUI in TWRP.
I'm surprised this is asked considering you have more posts and have been here longer than me.

Sorry didn't read the part where you said you got a "No OS installed" message, so you were already able to completely remove cm.
It sounds more like you're using the wrong zip or something, maybe try redownloading the zip ?

Trying unmounting the /system partition before you flash it. Solved it for me anyway.

That's what happens when you wipe system. The issue seems to be that he does not know how to get the ROM zip into internal storage after messing with TWRP wipe.

You might as well just manually wipe data, system and cache in the advanced menu.
Reboot back into TWRP and drag the file into your internal storage to flash. Or you can just adb sideload the rom.
If you're trying to put your ROM in via booting up android, it's not going to work because you've already wiped the system, hence no OS.

It should mount usb by default, at least for me.
If not, go to mount -> mount USB storage to manually mount it.

I used to have a problem with encryption on a MIUI rom, and no matter what I did, flashing only system or anything other than a full wipe including internal storage didn't do anything. Thought he had the same problem

He does have the same problem. However his dilemma now after doing a full wipe is that he does not know how to put stuff in his internal storage without booting into system.

Question Unable to mount storage on twrp

I have tried twrp as well as orangefox but in recovery mode it is not able to access internal storage. Also it does not ask for screen lock password. I tried wiping data which temporarily works but next time when I get into recovery it again shows internal storage as 0mb. Any fix for this?
Thanks in advance

Yes, if it's required password for decryption just insert your phone password/passcode.
