please help with installed version - Huawei P30 Pro Questions & Answers

Today I bought a second hand huawei p30 pro and looking at about the phone it says:
emui version 10.0.0
android version 10
kernell version 4.14.116 [email protected]
and at the end of everything shows:
customization: TME.ES 10.0.0.3 (CT)
what does that mean? I have no idea

Hi m8,
It means that your phone has a carrier customization firmware. No need to worry You have the official Huawei firmware + your SIM carrier update (usually VOWIFI, VoLTE or other things related)
If you Factory reset it and insert other carrier SIM, you won't get that customization reinstalled.

No need to change your phone, you will receive official updates and all the stuffs, no worries ?. The carrier customisation is sometime a good thing, because it get you all the settings for to be used by default on your device, such as mobile internet settings, VoLte or VoWifi.
So stay safe and take full advantage of your device ?

Thanks but there isn't option (i have checked all menus and all submenu), in all my smartphones android is possible encrypt.
in your firmware is possible? have you single or dual sim? which version you have?
thanks
I am running that exact firmware, Dual sim.
And for me It is under Options -> Security
Maybe you need to switch from general to all settings above the settings screen.
Though a little Heads up you will not be able to use Bluetooth, GPS or FM radio after encrypting.

Single sim, ALE-L21C15B136 but it is something you should find in every version.
Are you sure you are using the full settings view (as someone already asked)?
Hi
I have that same problem (not visible, I have buildnr ALE-L21C432B136 (dual sim, android vs 5.0, EMUI 3.1)

Hmm I'm starting to wonder if this is a regional thing. China seems to dislike people keeping things private and encrypted.
Ale-l21 b133 (latest, i don't remember now).
I can see encryption and i can use it if i revert back memory to telephone instead sd card.
Edit:
Corrected firmware version
Hello,
I discover the same issue with my dual-sim ALE-L21 P8 Lite device.
I do not know if this issue appear until I upgrade to ALE-L21C432B170 rom version, but I'm sure to have already test with success the full device encryption feature for my work tips.

Convert P20 pro from single to dual sim

Hi all,
Is it possible to force flash the dual SIM ROM on the single SIM phone? Obviously assuming I can get the bootloader unlocked and without using the funky Huawei tool as it costs money as far as I understand.
Also if possible will then the phone receive rom updates via OTA?
Thanks
You can email them in the UK and they will give you a bootloader unlock code [email protected]
normal dual sim have 2 diferent IMEI , conversion via FunkyHuawei you get only one imei with 2 sim

thanks, having a single IMEI shouldn't be a problem as long as the two SIMs are hosted on different networks. (at least this is my interpretation).
Would an adaptation of this method work?
http://ministryofsolutions.com/2017/10/huawei-p10-lite-rebrand-convert-dual-sim-free-method.html
Effectively if we can change the oem info file to match the dual sim version then we should be able to flash the dual SIM firmware, right?
I see in another thread even if you do it the dual sim adapter doesnt fit in the single sim variant.

Hi all, any news on this ? just see here https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...de-how-to-root-debrand-remove-retail-t3788326 that THERE IS NO HW POSSIBILITY TO CHANGE SINGLE TO DUAL SIM, SO EVEN IF YOU GO FROM L-09 TO L-29 THERE WILL BE NO DUAL SIM!!! NOT EVEN IF YOU PAY TO FUNKY
what is the reality ? I wrote to funky because on their site they say not usable with Emui 8.0.1 and I have a CLT-L09 8.1.0.128 (C432) fw installed - emui 8.1.0 Android 8.1.0, waiting for an answer:fingers-crossed:

CLT-L09 has same hardware as CLT-L29 can be converted to dual sim with FHP20SingleToDual, no problem.
CLT-L04 has different hardware and can't be converted to dual sim.

Not true. One IMEI can manage two sim. You find The problem is in that countries where there is a sim-lock, like USA and Cina. This because IMEI is locked by operator. In Europe there aren't that problems !

Not true. But maybe you wrong understand. In first period there was no sim tray holder for P20 pro and someone (like me ) tested the sim tray holder of Mate 10 Pro. This works for both sim but it is too longer.
Now you can find the original sim tray holder of P20 Pro both from Huawei assistance and also from international resellers ( find it with google, like ali....)

I wrote many time in that thread : the RED sentence it isn't true ! With funkyhuawei method you can rebrand a CLT-L09 with single sim in a CLT-L29 fully working dual sim ! And I say this because I done this with my P20 Pro ! And many other poeple (for verified direct experience 5 people, but much more they said they did it). So I don't think that only few specimens of P20 Pro have a different hardware !!
I can say that all P20 pro have the same Hardware : both CLT-L09 and CLT-L29.
For your Last ask I must say that Maybe you read wrong because funky made specific tools for P20 Pro with EMUI 8.x.x . That info do you read is specific for older phone, like Honor or Mate

Did you read the rest of the thread? You didn't need to say he/she is wrong. That was from May and later people updated in June saying they did verify the dual SIM tray fit and works. Perhaps it was too early then that not many people knew and later discovered solution.

My fault.
I do not read last two posts before mine.
My fault.
The first post I don't read say: "Oh. Thank you..."
The second say:"Call them to official line huawei uk...."
Too much interesting too loose.

Tapatalk
Just wondering if there has been any progress on this? I have rebranded from CLT-L09 to CLT-L29 and have purchased the official dual sim tray but the second sim will not get detected
Would rather not use the FunkyHuawei tool as it perma-locks the phone.
*Bump* - Can anyone please advise? I'd really like to convert my L09 to L29 to enable the second sim. I really don't want to use the funky method, due to serial change and bootloader re-lock etc.
Many thanks for your help.

Note 9 Android 9.0 Beta on SPRINT

Works great...wifi calling works, carrier branding with Sprint logo on boot...WiFi calling works...strange that the install did not wipe my user data... VoLTE works by default...maybe enabled after I enabled wifi calling??? For outgoing and incoming calls...very stable...though my dark theme doesn't look right on some settings screens.
RCS works natively in the Samsung messages app.
Can not edit APNs anymore though the old methods though.
Any other Sprint users try this out???

It was not before the Android 9.0 update... Android 8.1 did not show any branding, but the Android 9.0 does. Similar to how the Samsung s8 was when you could switch carrier branding on the fly

This is what's confusing me to be honest. My T-Mobile Note 8 U model rebranded to Sprint when I inserted a Sprint sim card. I didn't think U1 models did this for the note 8 /S8 or 9 ? I thought brand switching only worked on unlocked carrier branded U variants.

Stay on oreo for dual sim and sdcard.
No for NONROOT phones!
You'll have to root phone for that mod to work.
If that mod and to have an unrooted phone is important to you stay on oreo and wait for someone to find a work around.

I was in the same situation. Think I ended up with a grey import.
I found and then applied using Odin an unlocked Samsung ROM for the UK (Service provider Software now says XEU,XEU/XEU,XSG).
Since applied I've had one OTA update.
So yes, it might be worth looking into this approach for yourself.

Yeah but, before using Odin, your phone's firmare was for the UK? Or did u decide to install a different region firmware?
The phones origional region code was XSG, It did come to me with XEU,XEU/XEU,XSG as the region code. Provider is SAOMC.
I wonder if my problem was a baseband / firmware mismatch.
But I really don't know.

I understand, so you use your note 9 in the uk, this is why u flashed an UK Rom.
Yes, sorry, I'm in the UK.
If you go to the software information / service provider software version and look at the right most three character code on the third line of information in that section, you should get the origional country code.
But you have a very recent firmware & security patch, unless somethings not working I'd leave it for now.

I think if you have now firmware for UK, just download last one with samfirwm and flash with odin.
3-4 months, my sister have problem with j7 pro, it updated to andoird 9, but phone says last version is android 7(not even android 8)...so we just download firmware and flash trough odin...all is fine now
I flash pretty much all software updates now as it's clear Samsung isn't going to update on time. Based on my experience as long as you have an OXM Model and use HOME_CSC it shouldn't matter and your product code won't change.
I have a similar situation with a N960U. Wouldn't get software updates, was originally an AT&T phone. Flashed with a carrier unlocked firmware (TFW, in the states) & now it's a N960U1, & gets all updates.
Also has allowed me to use a CDMA network, because it just gets better service where I live (as opposed to GSM, as it was from purchase date) & effectively debloated it as well. Already enough samsung bloat, the AT&T bloat on top was just too much.
Hope this helps.
