Hello, I have successfully applied extreme syndicate root to my note9, but when I wanted to register for Samsung Pay, I always got stuck at the login screen, also I'm not able to use secure folders. Does anyone have the same problems, or does anyone managed to get them working? Thanks.

With root you lose Samsung Pay and Secure Folder, there is no way you can get them back.. Even if you remove Root and Flash normal firmware Samsung Pay and Secure folder will never ever work!
When you rooted your Note 9, you have blown the Knox Efuse on the motherboard!
True for exynos models, once knox is tripped and they are gone. There is a work around for secure folder and for Samsung pay you'll need a Samsung gear watch.
For snapdragons (seems the OP has one since he is using Extreme Syndicate Root.) He should be okay flashing back the stock firmware. (Or things changed from note 8 to note 9 root?) The knox doesn't get tripped as it seems on exynos models.
Do a search on secure folder you should find a thread on it (maybe on the note 8 forums of xda but it should work for all phones.)
Samsung pay is gone when rooted hopefully the gear watch method still works. Don't have a gear watch then no go on rooted phones! But at least you can return to stock on snapdragons phones and have Spay working.

Just have a question if I root my phone will I be unable to use Samsung pay even if I restore to stock firmware and unroot it? Is that's the case I think I will just live with it.

in sort yes, if you root you will trip Knox counter Yes, even if you flash back to stock Rom, your Knox counter will show. that's it's tripped (0x 1.. etc.) So you won't be able to use Samsung Pay.
All my devices Note 2,Note 3 , Note 4
Note 8.0 tablet is rooted Not the Note5, so far not interested. It's smooth enough, Themes in Theme Store i am happy with.
Battery is very good overall.
I get my "root " enjoyment " with all my other devices....!

Yes. Even if u ruu back to total stock and unroot your knox wil still be tripped and samsung pay will not work. This happened on my s6. After unroot and odin back it still was tripped. For this reason i choose to not root my note 5

Maybe there will be a way to reset the Knox counter in the future. I had used triangles away for my S4 in the past.
Hey XDA, i just bought (another) Note 5, this time SM-N9208DX version shipped but not bought from Malaysia . It came sealed but has a knox code of 1 (0x500), I have searched all over xda and have seen two users with the same type of phone with the same knox tripped. While this is not too much of a problem, ill like to know what knox 0x500 means and if it cant be reverted, can i use secure folder without flashing a custom rom?
Knox is tripped and you won't be able to use Knox, Sexure folder, samsung pay and even Samsung health will refuse to open.

Can I flash another country's ROM, certainly under same hardware architecture (N960FXXS2ARK2), without breaking the Knox?

on the about section in settings, then under status , does the phone still show as "official" ? after you guys successfully flashed other region firmware ? this is a straightforward way to see if the phone is still "knoxed" or not, as i am wondering if the Samsung pay not working is due to georestriction or knox related? Because as i remember with my pre-previous phone the s7e that i rooted, tripped knox resulted in many Samsung apps locked with an original firmware as Samsung health, pass, pay secure folder etc but otherwise still usable.
Just remember that since the S7, once the phone is rooted or knox is triggered there is no way back even if you flash the original firmware and completely unroot it, knox is like an electric fuse and once it is broken there is no way to "unroot" or restore knox to official status except replace the motherboard (until s6 root and knox was software and fixable by flashing original firmware but since s7 knox counter is hardware)
Manage to change region by following this thread.
But I'm not using spay so can't confirm if it will make spay work or not. Knox won't be tripped so nothing to lose if you try it

You'll lose Samsung Pay, Secure folder and Knox(?) Once you are rooted no getting them back, If your on Exynos models. On Snapdragon models (sm-n950u/u1) you'll lose them when rooted but once you'll go back to stock you'll get them back.)
The 80% limit is only for the root method for the snapdragons models (sm-n950u/u1/w). BUT you'll have to be on bootloader version 3 and below to get root!!! Once on bootloader v4 and higher NO MORE ROOT!!!(Samsung patched the exploit!
On Sm-n950F/N/F/DS (exynos models). You can root away but one thing to be careful of is the missing OEM switch in developer options and no more Samsung pay, secure folder when Knox is tripped. Once missing you'll have to flash stock firmware and wait for 7 or more days for the OEM switch to appear again. You can search xda for possible solutions that may or may not work for the OEM switch issue....
