Android 10 - No longer support of Bluethooth codecs like AAC, aptX, aptX HD etc. - Xiaomi Mi A2 / 6X Questions & Answers

Hello Forum,
as far as I could figure out, this has been already an issue in the past. But solved on Pie (Android 9) with the July 2019 update. Xiaomi Mi A2 devices didn't support Bluetooth codecs like AAC, aptX, aptX HD etc.
Now, after the update to Android 10, I figured out the old problem again. No support of these codecs. Only SBC is provided. Even, when I select one of them in the developer options. At least on my device!
Does someone of you can confirm the same issue and even know a working (proven) solution?
I'm on stock Android 10 with March 1st update.
Greetings

APTX-HD for Rooted N960F

Hi all,
Would like to check if there is any way of installing APTX-HD on rooted note 9?
I've tried multiple methods including APTX for Android Oreo & Pie from Magisk.
May i know if anybody has gotten it to work?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you very much!

From what i heard APTX-HD will not work correctly on a Note 9! As it needs to send tons of bluetooth packets it will skip cut out etc, that's why the devs did not include it! LDAC is the best, stick with that codec!

I have several apt-x HD supported devices and I never got it to work. LDAC support is fantastic, as is standard APT-X.
Using sony WH-1000xm2 when selecting SBC, AAC, APT-X or LDAC from developer options will briefly stop the sound whilst it jumps to that codec, no such luck with APT-X HD. I don't believe that the codec is actually implemented on the Note9.
AptX-HD was supported on the Oreo version of the Note9.
I have two Level Pro headphones and after the Android Pie update lost the UHQ audio function from the Level app.
If you looked, you got LDAC and SBC, no AptX or HD.
Then I submit a bug report and they only brought back AptX on the latest version.
I think Samsung it's just trying to push their new Buds as the Level brand is being discounted in many markets.
Also Video Pro Mode was available on the Note9 and removed on the Pie update.
Now I can add my wife had the S8 Plus and she lost the UHQ audio from her Level app.
She went back to Apple at this time as they have better codec support.
Personally I am planning to get the Xperia that has 4K screen and yes, a long list of audio codecs and features.
Samsung keeps playing games, Qualcomm still supports Apt LL and HD, the hardware supports it but it is Samsung decision to remove it.
What's happening with aptx support in Android 10?
When Samsung removed AptX in Android Pie, I send an actual bug report with their support team, it was a pain, because they ask you to reset it then jump hoops.
At the end, they acknowledged that AptX should be "At least supported" because their line of Level headphones run on AptX and AptX HD.
Then I can say, with the next update, they added AptX to the list of supported codec.
Sony and many others are pushing LDAC for their headphones so probably just drop Samsung.

Are you saying that in Andoid 10 they have added AptX support to the Galaxy Note 9 again?
Are you sure?
If this is true, this is great news

I'm on a Sprint Note9(Snapdragon) UI. 2.0. Android 10.
The big difference is AptX supports 16Bit 48KHz and AptXhd support 24Bits also 48 KHz.
Here screenshots.

No aptx, aptx hd and ldac support on honor play

The phone does not support aptx, aptx hd and ldac anymore (it did earlier). I have confirmed this with a ldac enabled device.
Honor support did not know how to resolve the issue and arranged a callback with they never did.
The device is running emui 9.1.0.382.
New user therefore can't post external link or images.
I'm using honor play running on emui 9.1
Are you sure that it doesn't support ldac??
it still supports aptx-hd. Are you sure your phone is turned on?
I have all but LDAC. Was it removed on purpose ?And why ?
Weird because in search it still shows LDAC but not in BT codec list in developer settings

Has Aptx support in Emui 11 been removed?

Hi,
I updated to EMUI 11 last month and just recently noticed that in the bluetooth developers section there is no support for Aptx anymore (a couple other codecs are missing). Is this the same for anyone else? I'm certain there were a lot more codecs available before.
After connecting my headset, aptx shows selected in dev settings. In BT settings, clicking on BT device shows high quality sound being chosen. I'm on 11.0.0.118

Question No LDAC Bluetooth codec?

LDAC is one of the best sounding bluetooth codecs for Android. Unfortunately it seems the Redmi Note 11 doesn't have it.
If i connnect my Bluetooth device, which supports LDAC, with my phone, i can only choose between Aptx en SBC.
In Android developer options LDAC is present, but if you try to select it it switches back to Aptx.
I have understand in the meantime that more expensive Xiaomi phones do support Ldac and Aptx-HD.
So it's the same as with the Always On Display. Xiaomi ditches certain basic Android features to annoy the Redmi Note owners so you buy a more expensive phone next time.
edit, found on Google: LDAC's source code is part of the Android Open Source Project, and it should be available on any phone sporting an Android Oreo 8.0 operating system and above.

Question Codec bluetooth

I want to buy the Redmi Note 12 pro 5g phone and I have a question if it has bluetooth support for the aptx and ldac codecs. Has anyone already tried it?
If xiaomi source code is sync with AOSP 13, they should support native aptx https://android.googlesource.com/pl.../heads/master/system/embdrv/encoder_for_aptx/
