international version??

I just got my nexus 6 in the mail and its an international version. I went to the attached store ,got it activated and it won't connect to LTE. I don't believe this has a LTE band that my town uses. What are my options here? Send it back and get the right variant or can I flash a modem to fix this?

where are you at? who is your provider? and what bands do they use? and any other info that you are missing(we arent mind readers here)..
Thanks for the prompt reply. I'm with att, Jackson ms. I have no clue of the band they are using here, I just noticed a couple bands missing from the international version listed on a web site.

I have no clue.... I'm in contact with the seller on amazon trying to figure that out. Yes it has LTE. I've already went through the APN settings also and corrected that.

Yes. It even has the international massive 3 prong charger in the box. I was wondering why....

Also read up that they use band 4 and 5. So it has band 5 but i think they have a lot of that deployed anyway. Send it back.

Ok so which Note 5 version to work in UK ?

Let's help to everyone. Can someone confirm or help find which version of n920* will be fully compatible with Uk 4G networks. As we know should be 3, 7 and 20 band which are 800, 1800, and 2600 mhz. I know networks are different and use some frequencies. For example I'm with EE which use all of them for 4G. I tried to find myself and only n920T looks good . Any ideas
My understanding it will be A version N920A
This is useful in also considering buying this phone also where is the best place to buy from without being charged customs etc.
Thanks
I like to buy the note 5 and was wondering if anyone knows whats the best model to buy for it to work on THREE UK and to get 4G
i have a brand new unlocked black 64gb N920A for sale in uk gets 4g on all networks

Sent from my SM-N920C using Tapatalk
I'd also like to know which model is best suited to use in the UK.
The three network in particular.
n920c missing band 7 and 20 so will not work proper on 4G in UK.
As for now it looks only N920A is good for uk 4G networks as it have all 3 bands 800, 1800 and 2600 mhz . Cheapest unlocked from ebay shipping from US is bout £570
Other places you find please post
Hi
Found a note 5 on Ebay N920i
2G bands GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G bands HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
4G bands LTE 2100 (B1), 700 (B17), 850 (B5), 1700/2100 (B4), 1800 (B3), 2600 (B7), 1900 (B2), 900 (B8), 700 (B12), 800 (B26), 800 (B19), 700 (B28)

I'm contract free so can go sim only on any network.......
Is there anything else I need to consider before buying? From what I understand it's the bands that will determine if it will work or not
Let me know our thoughts
Cheers

I've just imported a N920i to the UK, based on the research I did before hand only go for this model if you want to used 4G on EE, the other networks work on other bands.
The N920a will work on more of the UK networks (although i'm not sure whether it will be branded up as AT&T).
The N920i imported came with a UK charger as I believe it was from Hong Kong which I believe have the same power sockets as us in the UK.
Mine set me back £464 and then an additional £30 for import VAT.
Mrlynch
Thanks for the reply,
I take it that the phone works well, are you getting good 4g speeds?
And just confirm is it just the 4g bands you took into account before buying it. Is there anything else that will determine is the phone will work in the uk?
Can you tell me where you got your phone from. If you can't post a link to the site here would you mind sending me a PM
Cheers
Paul
I too have a n920i and it works fine on three the only netwroks it wont work is o2 and voda
Being honest I haven't tested the 4g yet as I'm on an old 3g unlimited data plan for £10 a month so it hasn't been worth upgrading to 4g. Plus I work from home so I'm on 100mb wifi all day. So far 3g has been spot on and so has 2g.
I got mine from ebay, I'll pm you a link shortly.
Do we know why the n920i won't work on the other networks. .......it has the LTE bands that voda and O2 use so on paper it should work, I think? ????

My N920C has band 20 and 3, and i guess it will have band 7 as well (though i can't test it). So this model should not really have problems working in Europe.

Thanks for your feedback regarding B20 band; I'm in Italy and here same problem with LTE bands (I'm on Vodafone that works on B3/B7/B20) now looking around I've found a N920C dual sim model (available on arab markets) called N920CD I hope someone can help us to confirm if this model works on B20 LTE too....
Which dual sim model will work in the UK with Three?
Just ordered a Samsung SM-N920S Galaxy Note 5. I know someone who ordered a phone from the same region and uses it in the UK...
Giffgaff and EE sims on standby for testing
Will let you know if all is working......

XT1103 - Questions regarding value and worldwide usage

I was checking XT1103 i.e. NEXUS 6 64GB in USA. ITs now available for < 250$, which I think is quite a fantastic price. I do not really need "latest and greatest" so older gen phones are ok. However, I am wondering if the XT1103 works in India with 4G-LTE ?
From the wikipedia it says
3g - 1 / 2 / 4 / 5 / 8
However carrier bands are given in MHz on coverage maps
USA is GSM 900/1800
India is 850/1900 MHz
So Should I get XT1100 international version? Will the international version work on any carrier in USA. As long as coverage in cities, is there, its fine. Do not need full remote area coverage.
That said, is it a good idea at < 300$ for 64GB, or I should look at NEXUS 6P price drop?
To see the bands available by the nexus 6 I suggest going here:
http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_nexus_6-6604.php
To check the bands that each carrier use by country I suggest going here:
https://www.frequencycheck.com/carriers
Just do a comparisson and buy the one that suits you more I guess.
On the other hand, at this point I would wait for a price drop on the 6p. In december last year I got the 32gb nexus 6 brand new for 250, so at this date it's not a bad deal, but also not the best, it's a 2 year old phone after all.
The US model (XT1103) would not get LTE in India because the LTE frequencies wouldn't be correct, but 3G and HSPA+ would function just fine. You want the XT1100 if LTE is offered by your carrier.
Thanks, I was thinking that XT1100 is US version and XT1103 is the international version. Is it the other way round? Will the international version work inside USA (3g 2g only good enough)

Thanks!
So XT1100 is great. I went to the websites suggested. It says INDIA LTE is B40 (TD 2300)
Phone specs for LTE say.
I do not see 2300 in either of them.
LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 9(1800), 19(800), 20(800), 28(700), 41(2500) - XT1100
LTE band 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 12(700), 13(700), 17(700), 25(1900), 26(850), 29(700), 41(2500) - XT1103
LTE band 4(1700/2100), 13(700) - Verizon
You're not imagining it. Neither model has band 40 support out of the box, therefore you won't be getting LTE at all, regardless of model. It may be possible to add the missing band, and there is a thread in the General subforum on how to do that. If you don't want to go through that however, the international 6P apparently does have band 40, so that may be a better option for you.

Planning on buying a 5X but I have some questions

Hey! So, I'm planning to buy a 32GB Xiaomi Mi 5X. I want to ROM it with the A1 port and I wonder: does it change the bands of the phone? Can I change them myself? Can I install more bands?
I need to activate bands 4 (AWS or 1700) and 28 (APT or 700*). As far as I'm concerned, some bands can't be activated in that terminal but I'm not sure which ones.
Thank you in advance! You could save me lots of money!

theirs a small difference between the a1 and the 5X band wise, the a1 is more geared towards global and non china carriers. i actually was going to try cross flashing modem files to enable more bands on my 5X but then a update fixed my issue and game me 4g.

M1804D2SI vs M1804D2SG

I can't find this anywhere so I am posting here. Does anyone know the difference in the LTE bands (if at all) that they support. Will a device imported from India M1804D2SI work in Canada? I checked on the frequency check website and they don't even have the Indian version listed.
this from gsmarena (they have some of the same bands, not all):
2G bands GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 - SIM 1 & SIM 2
CDMA 800 & TD-SCDMA - China
3G bands HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700(AWS) / 1900 / 2100 - Global
HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 - China
4G bands LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800), 38(2600), 40(2300) - Global
LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 34(2000), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500) - China
It's odd though, using frequency check, it seems to have the China bands listed for the global one... Compared to the chart above anyway. It's pretty disconcerting not being able to be sure of something as important as this...
On second glance, it looks like freq check has ALL the bands - for both china and global, listed together under global. I'd bet the gsmarena info is accurate.
But is China version same as India version?
Thanks for the information. But since all information on web points to differences between China and Global, does that mean the Indian version is same as Global version or Chinese version? Or is it it's own thing?
Just get a Mi A2 from Europe and you are good. QC 4.0 is not woth all the hassle especially after people reported some issues with the Indian version.
Just an update on this. I have imported the Indian version and I am using that on public mobile in Canada. So far I am not noticing any difference in my internet speed on my 3G only data plan. This is based on just a few hours of testing. I will be using it more comprehensively in the next week.
However, if anyone has any suggestions for how I should confirm the radios supported on the Indian version, I would be happy to do so and contribute my results back here so that it might be useful to others.
I purchased the Mi A2 in Belgrade, Serbia and it's the M1804D2SG Android One (Mi A2 Black 4GB RAM 64GB); which is also identified as "Xiaomi Wayne" ROM, right?!
The box says, which is of little help:
Dual SIM, Dual Standby | FDD-LTE/TDD-LTE | WCDMA | GSM
