Magisk Question - Google Pixel 4 XL Questions & Answers

I have a few apps that DONT work due to root. Might be a stupid question but Samsung is the worst when it comes to that. Any help fooling the app to think I am not rooted would be amazing.

I did that. That is why I am asking. Seems Samsung wont let me use Family Hub or Samsung Pay due to Root. I hope they have a way to get past this.

You're talking about Samsung apps in a pixel 4xl forum.
If you have a Samsung then go to the relevant Samsung forum and ask the question there

You don't. Not sure what you want to "mod" but just about everything not available on the market, and possibly everything seen here requires root. It's not hard, just do it.
I just want to be able to do all these gorgeous things http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=519
Download the .zip file, place it into your SD card, reboot into recovery mode (phone needs to be rooted by the way) by holding the HOME key and POWER key, select aaply sdcard:choose zip, select the .zip you just downloaded.

Have to root. Like I said most things in this forum require root. Best thing you can do if you have one of these. Even my wife was able to root hers.

Just got the Note 4......

SOSo, I just got the Note 4 and decided to use it for a week without rooting and everything. Well, now i'm ready to root and install some ROMS on it. I was wondering, is there a knox this like back on my galaxy s4 that kept count whenever I root or install a custom Rom? and if there is, is there a way to do it without tripping it?
Is search broken on xda?

Welcome to the Tmobile note 4 forum.
These are the steps to root.

Don't worry about Knox. Tmobile doesn't check.

Yes we have knox and yes a simple xda search would have answered the question. Some people on here want to blast others for asking what some think is a stupid easy question. Welcome aboard the crazy train and I would suggest doing a ton of thread reading to save yourself from getting blasted when it truly is uncalled for.
Happy flashing!!!

Welcome any time sir! Hit me up if I can be of any help. I'm not a pro or a dev, but I do like to help if I can. Other than the smart replies that we all some times get, the people in the T-mobile threads are very helpful and awesome. Don't forget to hit my thanks button and for sure hit that button when someone helps you.

Tripped Knox

I tripped knox messing around. So should I go ahead and flash a custom ROM?
Edit
Just realized I spelled the Title of the thread wrong. I mean Tripped Knox

You can edit your title by going to "Go Advanced" or something like that... LOL I was like "dripped Knox"!? Yup! Flash TWRP and call it a day cause that's the best way anyhow.

Thanks haha, and I tripped it flashing twrp actually. I just wanted to see how far I could push the phone before knox tripped. I knew twrp would trip it, I was just bored.
Well bye bye samsung pay whenever you come out. At least until we have a work around.

Welcome to the rebel alliance man.
I say Samsung can suck a dong. I'll take liberty in functionality over samsung pay anyday. Knowing Samsung it'll be a ****ty app anyway. I can't argue, I like samsung's hardware and phone design especially with the S6 but **** me samsung software sucks.
edit: I'm assuming you can figure out the whole rooting/custom recovery/custom rom setup but if you need help feel free to pm me I'd be glad to help

Agreed. I used Google wallet maybe twice...
Sent from my SM-G920T using XDA Free mobile app
I used Google wallet a few times when it first came out too, and lost interest because of trying to find a reader that took it. But with Samsung's pay it (supposedly) works with any card machine, NFC or not. I'll be using it everywhere if its true.
I was curious about Samsung pay, but having root is more important to me. If someone finds a way to get Samsung pay working without Knox, that's great. If not, oh well. It is just as easy for me to pull out my credit card as it is to swipe my phone.

*Root*

Bootloader locked. Can we get root? Why do manufacturer's and providers lock some phones but not others?
I need viper 4 arise in this thing!
Shouldn't this be in T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions & Answers instead?
I clicked on this thinking that root was achieved, not being inquired about. It's very misleading.

Wow. You gonna be okay? Sounds bad.
No. I'm not. What's it to you?
It pisses me off to have misleading posts.
It pisses me off to have misplaced threads.
This is both. Good thing I don't own this device, else I'd care even more.
Now go troll along while I report this thread.
Hope you feel better soon.

Hey, I was reading your pet peeves. How about when people say "should of" or could of" instead of "should have" or "should've". That one gets me.
Sorry off topic, not like there's much to add to this thread when the bootloader is locked. BTW, has the bootloader lock been officially confirmed?

I'm thinking maybe my Note 5 will be the last Samsung flagship I'll ever own that's rooted. Champagne problems but maybe I'll enjoy a purely stock experience on this S8.
Ill be happy once I have root so I can restore from TB... hate that right now cant get everything back it seems.

i think adhell works better. adguard brains battery sometimes since everything is filtered through it, it can cause some issues with services(GPM)
both these are systemwide ad blockers ( adguard youll have to get premium or sign up for their beta program)
