Does anyone know if cases/covers fit both the redmi 8 and 8a? Are they exactly the same size?

They might not all be the same, but I bought 2 of the same armour cases one for redmi 8 and one for 8a they are a bit different in appearance but fit fine.

Thanks I've did a bit more investigating myself on the specs and some reviews and they appear to share the same dimensions.

because I got confused and a friend bought the wrong cases and screen protectors I want to highlight the differences between the "Redmi Note 4" and the "Redmi Note 4 Global Version". The latter one is more similar to the "Redmi 4X". The global version also is always the snapdragon version (sd). But I think there are also sd version which are NOT global versions. But please help me to clarify the differences. I am German and I have the "Redmi Note 4 Global Version" with Band 20.
The top has a different design and the back has the camera and flash on slightly different positions. But the dimensions itself are the same

Also important. Keep in mind that the display is a 2.5D display (http://www.androidauthority.com/what-is-a-2-5d-screen-611258/) thus, the tempered glass often does not fit well!

Bought those, both fit perfectly. As I have to say that the tough one with cutouts for the keys does snap on pretty easy but it does not come off that easy.

I bought this device http://www.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_620903.html (still waiting for it to arrive) and I was thinking it was Note 4 Global, but in the specs it says it has Bluetooth 4.2 which only comes in note 4X right?
Is that possible or the actual version will be 4.1?

I figured that they would fit as the Note 8 and Note 9 S-Pens are quite similar. With the exception that the Note 9's S-Pen has additional Bluetooth features.

Lol.... I did the same cos I was disappointed to find the Noote 9 came with just 2 nibs
I promptly removed the spare nibs from the Note 8 before I sent it back

I'm really torn b/w the two, as MiA2 has a slightly better hardware than RN6pro , and on the other side, RN6pro since it's in the family of the highly supported Redmi Note series.
I'm just confused as I think that Android one (A2) will get a lesser or scarce Custom ROMS, and I really like Custom ROMS.
Please recommend me. It would be helpful to others too.

Wait for Redmi Note 7 or go for the Redmi Note 5 Plus. I would skip the A2 and the Note 6.

Thank you for the response, I understand the Cámara is different but not the body so thought maybe it would fit doesn't matter if there is space for one more Cámara.
