Ok this is the comparison between both smartphone , it may not contain all features offered by both brands like truetone or other gaming tools like armory crate...
In my opinion Rog phone 2 is the better buy and probably the best buy of 2019/2020 ( of course we will see rog phone 3), because it offer more features and
it has the best value for money. there is no perfect phone in the world. the perfect phone is based to human needs. But this this a battle between 2 phone with same price. iphone se 2 is overpriced and it has the body of iphone 8 with a13 and better camera, nothing more...
I don't need to go swim with it, charge slowly with wireless charger or make photographer photos and videos ( gcam already make excellent videos and photos).
Make your choice and let me know whitch is better in 2020!

Does anybody buy the 8gb version of the rog2? Your comparison could be summed up as iPhone versus Android and that's what 99% of the people will make their decision based on.

depends on what you need...
if its for gaming then ROGPHONE 2.if not the iPhone SE 2020.

at first i bought the 8/128 WW version. then after 1 month i upgraded to the 12/512 WW version.not much of a difference in speed if you ask me,but the 128GB ROM worries me haha.

Its actually funny how these are similarly priced. After using ROG 2 for almost 3 months, even if someone offers me a damn iPhone SE for free, I'd throw it away without even looking at it. The superiority of ROG 2 is just unimaginably higher, and I don't even game.

Think it all ultimately comes down to Android Vs iOS. No Android user will get Apple stuff and vice versa. And also if you want iPhone SE for status, it actually appears the exact opposite. iPhone SE just seems cheap.

The iPhone SE 2020 is the iPhone 8 done over again. It has the exact same hardware and the only change is the A13 processor and that's why the phone is faster and the camera is a bit better. No innovation at all.
The ROG phone II is better than the SE 2020 in my opinion. (Because it has 120hz refresh rate)

Who really needs more than 8gb of Ram? But you get more storage if you really need it
(128GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 12GB RAM, 512GB 12GB RAM, 1TB 12GB RAM)

Wtf is this. What comparison is that?
Pls, surrender xD

Except in camera, the Rog P2 is even superior than iPhone 11 Pro Max. I would love to know when this comparison started to have sense. In things like, as always, 5y iPhone (app)dates? IP rating? ****ty wireless charging? Cmon guys... it's all done here.

Yes, against the 11 Pro Max.... My ROGPHONE 2 only sucks at the camera department... The rest is pure crazy. Thats why im still using it instead of moving to the S20 Ultra.

True. Funny enough, I feel this phone is much better than S20 Ultra. Battery life is almost double of it. People report around 8 to 9 hours SOT on S20 Ultra because even if you set the resolution to 1080p, there's still going to be battery drain equivalent to 1440p resolution. My ROG 2 on Android 9 gets like 18 to 20 SOT easily. And then there's Air Triggers, no punch hole, better optimised stock UI, better speakers, and much better vibration motor. Best phone till date easily. Only ROG 3 will beat this, and then ROG 4 lol.

Thank you for reminding me no punch hole. Playing CODM or PUBG on my Note 10+ is such a horror. Put a key near the punch hole and yeah fml. Instant loser dinner lmao.
As for price. In Indonesia the ROGPHONE 12/512 costs around USD$900. The S20 Ultra 12/128 costs around USD$1100. And the 11 Pro Max 512GB costs around USD$1600.
If people here really knew the price of the ROGPHONE 2 here, they would go bonkers. As why would 1 pay so much for a "****ty" brand.
People in Indonesia even know more about Oppo and Vivo compared to Asus, because Asus does very little advertising in Indonesia.
And Asus Indonesia is well known for being 1 of the worse phone seller. ****ty aftersales and they always take 3-6 months to get the phone into Indonesia. Released September 2019,they got it in on January 2020(8/128) and February 2020(12/512). Same goes for the ROGPHONE 1... Zenfone 6...

Yeah and it's also much better watching videos without any obstruction on the screen. And also not only in Indonesia, but ASUS does poor marketing throughout the world. All of their phones deserve much better recognition, including the Zenfone high tier series. They're much better than the other brands. They actually deliver what the people need.

Did the Mate S replace the Mate 8?

I finally decided to ditch Samsung, after owning and using the Note 1 and then the Note 3. I was all set to upgrade to the Note 5, the biggest reason among many, is because they did not increase the screen size. I am tired of the "small" 5.7 inch screen, and wanted at least a 6 inch screen. After much research, I realized the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 was a very nice phone, but the rumored specs of the Mate 8 looked incredible. I was anxiously awaiting Huawei's press conference at IFA today, and with the phone they did announce, the Mate S having a 5.5 inch screen, that is going completely in the wrong direction for me. Totally have no interest in a small phone.
I am currently looking into the LeTV Le Max X900. This phone has pretty much all that I want/need. Fast processor, 4GB of ram, 2K display, and a screen bigger than 5.7 inches. The only major con, is the battery size, would of been nice if it had a 4,000+ mAh battery.
Huawei P8MAX?
that's exactly the same for me! Now I'm considering to buy the mate 7
I am a very happy user of a Mate 7, after LG G3 (broken screen after 2 month), and this is the best mobile I have ever used! Great display, good, crisp picture, fingerprint login works great, battery fantastic (my first phone ever going about 1.5,max 2 days with one charge - yes, I am a heavy user)!
Only con (not for me) maybe Kitkat. But, I had LP on my G3 (and Moto X) before, seen all the bugs of it, honestly don't miss it at all.
In short: mate 7 is great, go for it!!
Mate 8 rumors will be launched next year with kirin 950. Maybe in Barcelona. will see

I think Mate S is an after construction and the result of the delay of Kirrin 950 processor.
I think they are saving better camera and 2K display for Mate 8.
Mate 8 Will also most likely have an edged screen just like S6 edge, this also explains why they have now
starting to use amoled to prepare for future phones..
The weak battery is the biggest disappointment and idioticy with the Mate S.
That it have Amoled was the biggest surprise, amoled is to prefer but according to android authority it is not as bright as one would wish to be.

yes, the price will definitely drop, but now these Chinese phone companies love to play "Hunger marketing", maybe still take awhile to wait the price drop.

Hi SC36DC,
Well, same career as you phone-wise that is, and on that same ditching point with both LeTV Max or Huawei P8 Max as possible alternatives.
BUT:
LeTV max suffers too much from thermal throttleing: reports are you can't even use it as navigation with car charger simultaniuously plugged in (what good is it to have a n-th core chip that has it's cores idle and their clock frequencies underclocked in order not to burn them; search Youtube for video's that let's LeTV Max perform 3 consecutive Antutu benchmarks on a row and how it's performance drops dramatically) and no native LTE band 20 (800 MHz) support.
Huawei P8 Max super screen and external SD card support but no native LTE band 20 support.
For the Qualcomm equipped LeTV Max, there seems to be a work around to add additional LTE frequency bands, but I haven't come accross a method for the Kirin chip set / P8 Max.
I am kinda hoping that, since the Mate S and P8 Max share the same chipset setup and the Mate S supporting almost every imaginable frequency band, it might be possible to flash the Mate S' modem onto a P8 Max...
If so, that would be the best phone I could imagine :fingers-crossed:
And since the rumoured Mate 8 only seems to support LTE band 1 / 3 / 7...
Which still makes me hesitate and on the look out for a method to add LTE bands to the P8 Max
Kind regards,

Is it really worth the price?

Hi everyone!
The note 9 has just been released and I already saw the price tag in my country.
In my county, the phone cost 1249,- euro. That is a lot! That is for the 512gb 8gb ram version.
The 128gb 6gb ram version cost 1050,- euro. Still expensive!
There are some pretty cool new features on the phone but I don't really think its worth the price.
The price will drop in time of course, but I still think when it dropped, its still way too expensive. U can get a better deal for a greater price.
So... what do you think?
I think it's very expensive and in Switzerland where I live now they don't give you any incentives so i will pass. I am very happy at the moment with my mate 10 pro.
Not for me. I got a s8 and can get a great deal on note 8

exactly! Also very happy with my oneplus 6 here
I think it's too expensive as well. Happy with my XZ2.
I think looking at the s9 plus or the lg g7 both have the same specs and are around 500 dollars now so yes it is very expensive for the premium to have the stylus.
Everyone is on here complaining about the price but honestly the note has always been the more expensive device. The Note 8 was $990 when it came out and the S9 Plus was $930. I mean the higher the memory and higher the ram yes its going to get more expensive just like everything when you get a upgraded model. If you don't like the price go with the base model. It's pretty simple or just dont get it period.
or, get a note 8, for a ton less, and almost identical features...
if you have the note 8 it isn't worth it , if you have s8 plus you might want to due to dual cameras you missed last year. I don't think its worth it right now 1000$ is a bit too much.
Specially when the s9+ can do the same thing as this phone besides the pen and the note 8 already has 90% of s pen features (except for useless pen remote thingy).
The only encouraging upgrade is the battery [but we haven't seen battery drain tests comparison yet]. The storage is not encouraging why? most of us have 128 GB SD Cards in our pockets and 512 GB SD Cards are expensive.
Make no mistake its a great phone but its only worth it if you use the pen and if you find the s9+ or note 8 battery capacity not enough for you , other wise the s9+ or the note 8 (depending if you want to shoot 4k 60 fps or 1080p 60 fps for 60 fps videos) is pretty good and almost has the same Camera features [Even in low light they are VERY close with all 3 of them having dual cameras and the amazing live focus features].
Personally I rather wait 1 year for price cuts [considering you have either note 8 / s9+].
I bought my Note 8 new for 600$ because I couldn't justify 950$. Now Note 8 is 600$ , I would wait until the price goes down.
Definitely worth it.
just faster CPU performance already worth it to upgrade from note8
stereo speakers
use spen for selfie
better camera

There is no answer to your question. Its relative.
If you want transport buy a bicycle, if you want to go one better buy a motorbike......Car....What car, a 4,500€ Yugo or a 1.5 million euro Roller?
Same with all tech purchases. Watches...... Buy a Swatch watch for 50€ or a Patek Philippe For half a million€ Its relative.
Got mobile phones here for 35.00€ Oddly enough THAT to me is a waste of money. If the Note 9 was made by Apple it would cost ?1,800.00€? and because it carries the Apple brand it would sell like hot cakes.
The Note series was never intended for mass sales as the S9 is. The note series is one of four styles in the 9 group. If you don't need nor use the S-pen buy the S9+ or the still cheaper S9.
So much to consider. My first lap top cost me twice this price in November 2000 and the specs!! ....650MHz processor. 6GB hard drive. 64Mb SDRAM memory etc.....
I think considering what the Note 9 does its incredible, not to mention only 36 months ago such technology would be only in ones dreams.
Unsure how one can value such a device? Very difficult. 1k for a smart phone, but then again its not just any smart phone is it.

Everything is expensive in Switzerland! Ive been there a bunch of times and the fordt time was shocked at the cost of things.
I still love it there though, beautiful country.
But for me totally worth every penny, all $1500 of them

the s9 has been a flop sales figures wise though....I seriously suspect N9 price will plunge in October / pre xmas sales and competition with Apple X11 or Huawei. Samsung are loosing ground and I don't believe this does anything to stop that....
My country have a promo. Buying the 128gb model will get free upgrade to 512gb.
And base in the exchange rate, it cost about 890 euros . This is from Singapore by the way.

Marginal camera improvements.

Agreed.
Why buy the same phone as last year but with a wireless s pen that takes shots. I am still waiting for samsung to update their selfie camera to be as good as the back.
Also you are right about the argument "cuz cpu will be faster yeaa cuz its a car not a smartphone that goes 1 milisecond faster in opening Apps than past year"
Since when did Note 8 lag. And if Clock speed is the argument then you will just upgrade every 6 month due to fastest processor and waste your money

i said the same thing when I used to have 14" PC monitor, that screen is perfectly fine, I don't need no bigger monitor.
I used to have DSL, are you complaining about the speed?
now I have 22" monitor and Comcast cable internet , you don't know what you missing until you have it.

Invalid argument. Did you know the note 9 has lower ppi than the note 8 with the same screen resolution. Will that stop you from buying Note 9?
Oh and the s10 will be 2 miliseconds faster, will you buy it too?
The speed you won't notice unless you compare them side by side. In your daily tasks you won't just say "Hm i saved 2 miliseconds." Again unless this is a racing car, this is not a valid argument.
Beside the fact nore 9 and note 8 software is the same.
And 0.1 increase in screen size and lower ppi.
Isn't 4G LTE good enough? Fast enough ?
I wonder why wireless carriers throwing million$ and million$ to build 5G networks

Note 9 The Best

It almost 2019 and we have seen a lot of devices coming out. After looking at all the devices I think I have made the right choice of buying Note 9. I mean everything is amazing in this device build quality, display, performance, and battery its a combination of those in a perfect way.
The Smartphone of the Year is Note 9.

Yea it is amazing except charging speed not great at all
And camera at night not great like my old p20 pro
But overall note 9 is impressive
For the price I disagree. It's a nice phone my first note but I should have waited for the s10. I only got it for the bogo deal which is actually a rip off with Verizon since I have the old unlimited plan. End up paying 55 a month for the second phone and will end up paying it off soon cuz that will end up costing more if I don't. The 5G S10 looks enticing and might end up upgrading lol

Yep, also I cannot do a notch screen on my phone. I hate it. I had an LG V10 a while back and that was as far as I was willing to go with a non rectangular screen. I actually really liked the build of that phone.
note 9 is one of these devices that will never happen again in a long time period. but SAMSUNG is at that point where u expect everything so no one appreciate anything. and this is coming from a note9 / oneplus 6 red user and i love using both, so not a fanboy here
software wise, they talk about vanilla android experience with pixels or half a second faster with oneplus or iphones, in the same time i cant see any of these phones have multi window support (i mean real multitasking not 2 apps opened in the same time) for apps ! none have 2 apps in 2 windows running at the same time, none can run 2 Bluetooth devices out of the box, none have the magnificent gallery or edge shortcuts or other samsung addons.
also for the camera:
one of the best hands down, and yes huawei and pixel are better for photos "on auto" but note9 has 4k 60 fps, better sound recording, and unmatched multiple super slow motion recording
now screen wise, hands down the best. design, is awesome notch-less design, battery is great, headphone jack, ip68, dual speakers, DEX and VR and 360 cam and other accessories.
oh and lately i read and hear oh huawei or oneplus is so generous with in box accessories! i mean really ? they have usb2 to usb c dongle or OTG dongle or AKG headphones or quality case u can actually use in the box ??
but again, samsung is doing this for a long time, no one expect less.
I actually came from a pixel 3xl. Lovely phone, good battery and the camera was just insane.
Swapped for my note 9, and I don't regret it at all. It's better phone, the battery is ridiculous - on 4hr sot at 50% - and it's just fun to use without being boring. The camera is good but just no way near the pixel, however the Bluetooth pen and taking photos from afar makes up for it with my daughter!

Android authority after testing a lot of devices even they agree that Note 9 has the best Display.
Note 9 the best
I'm so happy I picked up s note 9. I had reservations because the note 10 but now seeing s10 Is going with camera hole in the display that's off the table for me until they can hide it. Imagine if TVs had that hahaha
I just got a Note 9. The first Note I had since original Note. I have used all the Nexus/Pixel devices through the years as my daily driver. I did try a S3 for awhile but couldn't get over all the bloatware. After using the Nexus 6P for 2 years I switched to the Pixel XL 2. What a nightmare that phone was. Between the hardware issues and new bugs with each update I got rid of it for a S9+ What a nice peice of hardware. A couple of weeks ago I had a choice between Pixel XL 3 or iPhone Xs Max. I went with the Max. Couldn't get use to iOS and the Max made me want a bigger screen so I ended up with the Note 9.
What a terrific device. I love Ubuntu on Dex and found a few features of the S Pen to be handy too.
I no longer care about fast buggy updates and quality means everything to me now. I'm
My problems with more 9 are
Camera is average
Battery is not great at night and shutter speed is bad
Fast charging is a joke
Sound form headphone Jack is ugly besides my old nex s

The same can be said for just about every single phone and its eventual successor.
The Note 9 is the last of its breed - big screen, big battery, no notch, headphone jack, good camera.

Yes If you compare the device with the price then there will be only a few devices which can be sold. Even if you do the comparison also Note 9 is best at that price in my point.

I don't think the Note9 camera is AVERAGE. I would say that the camera captures decent pictures with high quality.
And the battery life is good it lasts a day.
But I agree that sound quality is not up to the mark.
And it is here the official Android authority report says that the Best readers choice award and the best Phone of the year is the Note 9. Once again we proved that Note 9 is Best.

Which phone should I buy?

Hello everyone
Which phone should I buy?
1. S10 plus
2. Note9
3. P30 pro
4. Mate 20x
5. LG G8
6. LG V50
7. Any other
Plz reply with Which and Why?
Thanking in advance.
OnePlus 7 Pro
- Triple Camera
- 90hz QHD+ Curved AMOLED Screen
- Android 10 (Fast Updates)
- OxygenOS
- WARP Charging
- Snapdragon 855
- 8/12GB RAM
- 128GB/256GB Storage
- UFS 3.0 Storage
One Plus 7T Pro (overall its the best)
Mostly same as the 7 Pro but has Snapdragon 855+ (4% faster chip), 20% faster charging and 85mAh bigger battery.
it ain't much difference but it's better then regular one. Also if price ain't the issue buy McLaren Edition with 12gb of ram.
So 90Hz QHD+ AMOLED display, fast storage, 256GB storage, Triple Cameras, WARP Charging, no Bloatware and fast updates.
BUT if you take alot of pics and videos take P30 pro. It's cameras are way ahead of OnePlus. But it won't be supported for future Android updates.
As for Samsung S10 it's has the best display I've seen so far, cameras are also good. Runs well also. Battery is good (for my use) and has good sounding speakers. The only downside Samsung stock apps. I use Google apps for everything and having double of everything is annoying. Also Bixby SUCKS!!!
No s10+...kuz im using one
S10 Plus / Note9 because they are great phones and Samsung Dex is crazy great.
1. S10 plus = stereo sound ,4k 60FPS 960FPS slowmotion, but the exynos version getting hot fast
3. P30 pro = no 4K 60 @fps slow real slow motion is max at 240frames ) amazing night shots
4. Mate 20x (better telephoto lens if you need this)
7. Any other = like other said here op7 pro (no kind any notch ) 90hz etc UFS 3 storge ..
dont know \ didnt read enough about the other devices
I have the U.S. variant of the S10 plus and the battery life is crazy good.
I have US s10+ and I do not have one complaint. I actually don't mind Samsung's apps and almost have zero google apps (Just google news and maps). Screen is amazing, battery is great, phone is speedy and I have really grown to love oneui over stock android os. Oneui can do so much more. The only thing I want is a 90hz display (hoping the s11 will have it)

its nice to see someone on here with a sense of humor!
back to the topic tho, i honestly cant suggest anything right now. The hype of the S9 and the polar reviews of it makes it really hard to recommend anything with any real confidence unless you have had hands on real life experience and even then. Ya know what i mean? I like my S9, but it wasnt the extraordinary leap that it was made out to be. That being said, i came from the A8 which is a huge underdog IMHO. The front facing camera on the A8 is vastly superior to the S9. No, not a selfie person, i just have some extended family in Romania and the video quality on their end was mentioned several times when i switched to the S9.
The major releases of phones come out early in the year, so this is a good time of year to hunt for a model half way thru its first year and then the hunt for the deal is on. So its a hard call to make. Get a killer deal on an aging phone or wait to be a guinea pig in the spring.

right??? im assuming that in the LG forum theyll tell you that the iphone is the best device, especially if all theyve owned are LGs LOLOLOL kiiding!!
It's almost better to wait until a phone has been out for a year, then read the reviews and decide. Of course, you're then a year behind the latest and greatest.

I've moved to an OP8

Just to let you know that I've purchased a OnePlus 8 to replace my OP5, which is still going strong.
Having compared the two, there's not actually that much difference in real world experiences apart from the cameras - which are a class apart.
Was it worth it? Probably not. But I needed something to occupy me in these times.

Seriously with this new overpriced prices OnePlus 8 branch is not good. Not really big difference with 7T Pro, more expensive, more big, same design and always a photo quality under others brand like Samsung, Apple, Google, Huawei.
I prefer now look arround Realme x50 Pro
https://www.realme.com/eu/realme-x50-pro
Price must be arround 600/679 $ for 8Go/128 Go Internal !
Deleted after launch of the device
I ordered my OnePlus 8 Pro few days ago, still waiting for it sadly ? I know it's overpriced and I should buy 7T pro and still be enjoying it, and it'll serve me well as was my 5T for almost past 2 years, but I decided that I have to go for the best this time, and I like OOS too much to settle on it using Samsung or Huawei device, so I've chosen 8 pro, and I'm so excited to see this screen for the first time. Price is high because it's a real flagship deal this time, like the other manufacturers. I know company have to make money, they already lost so much because of this stupid covid quarantine thing, they have to wait with release for month, and it's also in the price of the end product, and I'm fine with it, cause I'm buying, imo the best phone in the market rn.

iPhone SE don't have flagship processor because they didn't include the A1 chip, and it's a little slower compared to iPhone 11. It's same chip, right, but they made few cuts here and there.
It also don't have flagship display, and flagship camera. Display is same as iPhone 8, and the camera have only one lense, and Apple's flagships have three lenses, so no flagship specs.
It's cheaper because they want more users for their cloud and services.
OnePlus 8 is like lite version of real flagship, and iPhone SE is just a middle range phone for people who don't need flagship-like device, it's targeted to other types of people.

I agree to you, OOS is great and Pixel also. You can be happy, only the price is the bad point for 8 Pro, it's a good device. And for the iPhone Se, above all, it's only a 4.7" lol
7T is better than 8 in camera department, moreover it has in aperture of 1.6 for the main camera
Very hard to me to justify upgrading my OP5 right now. I usually upgrade phones after 18-24 months out of necessity, but I'm on month 26 with this now with no upgrade plans.
Screen size, performance, Android version etc are all still perfect for me, never lacking.
Camera might be the only reason, but it's good enough for me now.
I'm EXACTLY in the same boat! The only other thing that might need attention is the battery. But with sockets never too far away, I can easily overlook the issue.
