Help! I install Android Auto but I can't find the app on home screen - Xiaomi Mi 8 Questions & Answers

Hi everyone,
I've been install AA on my mi 8 device, but I can't find the app icon on home screen and there is no option to open app on play store (the option just Uninstall). I'm running on Android 10 with MIUI 11. Please tell me how can I open the app. Many thanks for everyone who answer.

This is system app and is hidden. Use activity launcher app to add shortcut.

Disable Developer Options and try again maybe a reboot of the device its needed
That fixed my issue, i'm trying to find if the problem is from Window animation scale, animator duration scale or transition animation scale under developer options.
I had this problem before. Its happening because of activating the DEVELOPER OPTIONS! Even after you disable it you still have the problem! You need to restore your phone! And dont activate the dev. Options any more.

No need to restore, you can disable dev options and then go Settings -> Apps -> All -> Xperia home and then clear data that way you resetting only the launcher.

Multi window shortcut?

I rooted my phone and am wondering if there is a way to create a shortcut on my home page to launch the two apps quickly. I couldn't find anything online.

Use 2 fingers to drag from the top of the screen and you can see the multi window on/off

I think the OP means launching 2 apps at the same time, not the quick toggle. There's nothing out there that I know of for that.
You can do it with an app that supports shortcuts (i.e. Nova Launcher, Tasker, GMD Gesture Control, etc).
Thanks. I use Nova launcher, so I will see if I get it to work.

For some reason I don't see the option for windowed shortcut for 1 or 2 apps.
It just doesn't exist.

Hello and thanks for your answer. No my Note 8 was not rooted but it got a shortcut in shortcut panel for screenshot. Impossible to find it on my new Note 9
It could have been some app you had installed that added it
Don’t know if this is what you had set up on your Note 8, but there is a screenshot option in the assistant menu that you can set up in the Accessibility section of settings. Go to Settings>Accessibility>Dexterity and Interaction>Assistant Menu - turn the menu on and click for options, one of which is Screenshots. It works great!
Hope that helps!

I think it has been mentioned, without root, go to advanced settings
Enable palm swipe to capture.
Then when you want a screenshot simply swipe from left to right across whole height of screen.

One hand operation
Try the "Quick Settings" app that allows you to add a bunch of items to your quick access panel

Hello good alternative thanks a lot. But it's not exactly the same result that the native one. When you make a screenshot you don't have the native option

You mean with the scroll capture and sharing options? Yeah this shortcut just saves it for you without any of that.

Open the one hand operation + application, tap either left or right settings. You can then edit the swipes to one of the predetermined options.

disable auto-add new apps to home screen

Recently I purchased Mi A2. For every new app installation that newly installed app is being added to home screen.
previously in my old mobiles like Mi A1 there was an option in Play Store settings to disable this.
Now I cannot find this option in Play Store settings. Is any solution to disable this?
try another launcher app
for me I use rootless launcher from play store it seems good
