I can't install twrp, make a hard reset, update by OTA, nothing O.o - Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Guides, News, & Discussion

SOLVED
Hi there.
I had my couple's mobile rooted with Magisk and MIUI Global 10.3. Once wanted to update twrp and the issues began. Actually the mobile isn't rooted but with unlocked bootloader, apparently.
I list the issues down below:
1) Trying to install twrp with fastboot by CMD, pressing enter after the command the cursor just blinks and nothing happens. At first it showed "waiting for device", so I installed adb drivers and the mobile appeared in Device Manager. It run once up to "sending 'recovery'" but not farther. The mobile was connected in fastboot mode indeed as well as in usb debugging but couldn't activate oem unlock as it stated it as unlocked and the option was dimmed.
2) Tried to unlock the mobile with Miflash_unlock and the phone was recognized, but the tool checked the device up to 50% and then showed that it Couldn't verify the device.
3) Then I tried to make a backup of the user data and doing a Hard Reset from settings. It went forward up to reboot, so I did, then it entered in fastboot mode for a few seconds and it powered off. Rebooted the phone and it was up and running as if nothing happened. So I cannot make a hard reset.
4) I can't enter the recovery too. If pressing volume - and power on it enters in fastboot mode. With volume + and power on it does the same With recovery enter tools isn't possible either. It seems as it's been corrupted.
5) I've just tried to flash the Global_8.0 rom with MiFlash 2019.12.6.0 and on the progress line it says "echo Mismatching image and device" How? I'm sure its a Mi Mix 2 'chiron' Rom, so... Anyway, I start to flash and the tool seems to progress but it never ends. So I disconnect the phone, reboot, and it keeps untouched running as before, OMG
6) On top of that I can't update android by OTA, as it gets downloaded, then reboot, then enters fastboot mode and after few seconds it powers off as before, and powering it on afterwards shows that it couldn't be updated
So I don't know what to do next. However, the mobile runs apparently ok.
May someone lend me a hand, please?
Thank you.

SOLVED: The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is up and running with the last firmware installed. The issue was that, as I build a new PC lately, I connected the phone in fastboot mode to the front USB ports, which are 3.0 version, and you need a 2.0 USB port at most, causing errors in MiUnlock and MiFlash.

My phone won't start

Hello,
i think I've broken my phone, I hope you can help me.
I followed this tutorial that you can download here : (I can't post the link because I'm a new user)
I've tried to unlock the boot loader with success, then the installer tried to install a recovery (as the text in the command window said) and the progress stopped, I have waited a couple of minutes but nothing happend and I disconected the phone from my computer (I know that was a bad idea).
Know my phone won't start, not even in the recovery mode. I can hold the Vol +, Vol - button and the power button but only the huawei logo appears, then turns the screen black and nothing more happens. I have also disconnected the battery for some minutes but this didn't change anything.
The only positiv thing is, that Fastboot still recognizes the phone when it's connected to my PC, but I still can't enter the fastboot mode.
I hope you can help me and save my phone,
thankfull Robin
Flash twrp in it, and than install persona's B602 rom.

First of all thank you for your reply. But I can't put my phone with my computer and minimal ADB in fastboot mode. The device is found with the command "adb devices" but it has only recovery status. When I type in "adb reboot bootloader" then Huawei logo flashes up and then it goes back to blackscreen.
I fixed it
I fixed the phone by myself. I'm not an expert at all and this is for the people with the same problem.
I think the problem was, that the phone won't leave the recovery mode, because it was listed with "apd devices" as "recovery" for the whole time.
So I tried to install a stock ROM via SD Card with a tool named au_temp.cfg and the phone actually did more then just turning back off when i pressed the Vol+, Vol- and Power key. So the phone actually entered the bootloader but I got the wrong stock image, but this didn't mattered because after one try the phone got back to normal mode and booted quite fine. So I think the main problem was, that my phone was stuck in a recovery mode and needed help to exit it.

Fastboot not working

Hey guys,
I have a problem while trying to flash TWRP on my Xiaomi Mi5. TWRP was installed earlier and worked completly fine with flashing custom ROMs, flashing OpenGAPs or rooting the device but now for some reason TWRP got lost and the standard Xiaomi recovery is on the device again. Installed was MIUI 8 in the Dev-Version (weekly patches) for the last half year and was the last ROM flashed with TWRP.
And now comes the problem when i try to install/flash the twrp image via fastboot: If i reboot the device in fastboot mode it shows the following behaviour:
1. It show the fastboot logo on the screen for about 10-30 seconds before it reboots automaticly (doesn't matter if i connect it via USB before or while it shows the fastboot logo)
2. While it shows the logo on the screen and it is connected via USB it's not showing up in the console when i list the all connected fastboot devices
I can still use the devices standard recovery and the installed OS, just the fastboot part seems to be brocken. Am i missing a driver on my computer or something?
Has somebody else an idea how i can solve this automatic reboot in fastboot mode?
Edit: If this Thread belongs into another catagory, i apologize
Make sure minimal adb and fastboot are installed in your pc. After that, enable usb debugging from developer options and connect with your pc and let it there for a while to install drivers on your pc. Then go to twrp and your phone should no longer reboot after your connect usb. Flash twrp here.

ADB and FASTBOOT installed -> checked!
USB-Debugging enabled -> checked!
Windows installing drivers automaticly -> unsure. Windows didn't installed anything it just notified me that there is a new USB-Device (Device is also showen as ADB-Device and appears in the list of connected adb devices)

To that: TWRP is not installed on the phone anymore. I just have the standard xiaomi recovery where i'm not able to flash a .zip or something. I can just wipe all my data there
The reboot behaviour also appears if i switch to fastboot via "adb reboot bootloader" command while spamming "fastboot devices" to check if it appears before it reboots.
The standard recovery is usable as it should be without any reboots only the fastboot mode seems brocken.

Weird. Everytime this sorta problem happens to me, its because windows didnt have the drivers installed after you connect your pc with debugging enabled. So thats the only troubleshooting i did to fix things. And yeah it did show me drivers installed correctly after i connected phone with debugging enabled. Maybe for some reasonn those drivers arent being installed to windows. Give it more time maybe? [emoji23]

Need help to relock the Razer Phone 2 bootloader.

Hi, Im kinda new to this bootloader thingy. What happen is, i updated the razer phone 2 to Pie, but notice wifi and sim card cant be detect. Even factory reset fails. So i thought of flashing new image on it. KINDA easy on my oneplus, but im not sure where I gone wrong on this razer phone 2, i accidentally unlock the bootloader. NOW the problem is HOW to relock it back? i been follow all youtube and guides all over the place but still fails.
The state of device atm, cannot be boot into Download Mode. Everytime I plug in usb c from Windows, it will boot into unlock bootloader warning page, and continue boot into the homescreen. testing the adbtools, fastboot also to no avail. Can anyone help and guide me how to relocking it back? Maybe i type wrongly on cmd or maybe other android steps not similar to razer one etc....:crying:help much appreciated.
Hold volume down while turning on. Then fastboot flashing lock.
the stock usb doesnt send things correctly in BL mode, https://www.amazon.com/Blackweb-3-Foot-Charge-Cable-Connector/dp/B07SG7P3KZ/ worked for me. with the correct usb cable you should be able to perform the lock commands correctly. can you give us more detail of what you tried on this phone so we know if we need to provide you additional information?
https://developer.razer.com/razer-phone-dev-tools/general-instructions/
"Locking the Bootloader
Locking the bootloader is recommended for security reasons. Some applications will not work with an unlocked bootloader.
Start the Phone in Download Mode with one of the following methods:
Using the adb tool: With the Phone powered on, execute: adb reboot bootloader Enter Download Mode:
Plug in a USB cable to connect your Razer Phone to your computer, Power Off the Phone, then turn it on and immediately press and hold the Volume Down button until β€œDownload Mode” appears on screen.
Lock the critical partitions of the Bootloader first by running this command: fastboot flashing lock_critical
Your Razer Phone will show you a confirmation screen. Use the Volume Up/Volume Down buttons for navigation, and press the Power button to select. Your Phone will reboot."
I can't seem to enter download mode. All I have is fastboot mode and the option to either reboot, close the phone or enter recovery mode. I would really like to lock the bootloader, but I can't seem to be able to detect my phone on my PC even though I installed the fastboot driver.

You must use a USB 2.0 port. The RP2 isn't detected by fastboot when connected to a 3/3.1 port.

Lg g6 bootloop i cant do anything

Hi guys !
We had unlocked the bootloader and after that, had installed twrp but it didn't start in a few attempts. The "Your software cannot be checked for corruption" screen appeared. I had read somewhere that it's just a warning about the risk of installing custom OS and I just should go factory reset, so I did (and that was a stupid idea, I know). And then the bootloop started to happen. My PC can't see my phone and I can't turn it off in any way
To turn it off just hold the power button... while its bootlooping, it will shutdown. Connect the phone to the pc and enter the bootloader. type fastboot devices, if the pc sees it with a question mark but cannot apply the driver, download the bootloader interface driver and set it manually, now retype fastboot devices and your pc will see it in fastboot, after that, reflash twrp or your recovery of choice, wipe all, format data and install your rom of choice.

I am having a similar issue after flashing the TWRP image - phone when into boot loop - resetting did not help. Now, it continues to reboot at the LG logo.
I was able to get it into the fastboot menu (once in like 50 times) - but am unsure of how to repeat the steps (to get it into fast boot)
Can you list the steps, and at what time do you press the vol- button, and when to connect USB cable?
Many thanks in advance

Hey! Don't lose your hope yet. I managed to fix my phone!
So first of all just to be clear - my problem was that after trying to flash ROM using Custom Recovery (in my case it was OrangeFox Recovery) my phone was stuck in bootloop and it did turn on by itself after forcing shut down.
What I did to fix it:
1. I've waited for battery to discharge
2. I've downloaded and installed on my PC:
- LG UPPERCUT - Download here - XDA
- LG Mobile Drivers - Download here - LG.COM
- Android Fastboot Drivers (not necessary needed but i wanted them just to be sure) - Download here - drive.google.com
3. After that I went to search for stock KDZ for my model and my region here (lg-firmwares.com)
4. When everything was downloaded and installed I took my phone and while holding Vol+ I've connected USB cable to my phone (make sure the second part is connected to PC before pluging in to phone) and after few seconds my phone booted into Download Mode
5. Now you need to run LG UPPERCUT - if your phone is listed in upper list then you good to go and if not, check your drivers and errors in Device Manager - select your KDZ in "BIN File", change checkbox from "REFUBRISH" to "UPGRADE", click "Start" and wait.
Your phone will reboot few times but after hitting 100% in Uppercut it will take 2-5 min and boot to stock OS!

first let's go, download the fastboot stock version of the ROM then download Miflash, unzip the rom on your main disk twice, now on your cell phone you will press the power off button and at the same time the fastboot button (you must have messed up the file boot so it doesn't turn on) and play Miflash also on C disk, open Miflash on mobile in fastboot mode and select ROM folder don't forget to put the option to just clean and not lock, when the process is finished you wait for the phone to turn on

Thx but phone dont booting to fastboot mode so i cant flash boot.img i tryed now SP Flash too in linux and still same errors becouse phone disconecting too fast. I think technician service will be solution..
Dont use The daanm Sp flash Tool , Its for mediatek devices, USE Miflash, and Its impossible a phone dont boot in fastboot mode, try again, pls hold The button
I have both Mi flash and SP flash tool
Without fastboot you cant do much...
in Miflash it dont do anything even device it dont see on COM3
in SP flash too it react but with errors becouse of disconecting
phone dont boot right becouse both A and B boot images are corrupted.
Does your screen at boot turn red? I've done everything on my cell phone, several things have happened to me and not once did fastboot have a problem, because fastboot is a totally different place to boot, there is only this possibility if you used commands in adb to remove or do something in fastboot that made it useless, it's impossible to happen this in the way you said
yes i did adb commands in fastboot becouse i instaled recovery and this all happend after reboot
no problem doing things in adb, I said in the sense that you deleted fastboot in adb but that didn't happen by the way you said
Turn off your phone.
Press and hold the Power + Volume Down buttons together and immediately connect the device to the PC. You need to time it perfectly.
It will automatically boot into EDL mode, and LED lights may blink.
Download QPST Flash Tool and install your device's firmware using QFIL(comes included in QPST).
I suggest you to read everything about it online.

I tryed but not succes. It just booting every 5s nowhere. Cant get to EDL mode sorry. And correct turn off phone isnt possible i have to unplug battery flex cable but i also tryed. Only possible state where it dont restarting is when battery is unpluged and i connect phone on cable with pc and pressing volume down+power. But connection to COM3 is only 2s.
Well, in that case you need to short the test points on your motherboard and plug the phone into your PC at the same time.
Watch several videos related to it on YouTube first.
Wait, is your phone Redmi Note 11 or 11s?
I will try the point test. I have Redmin Note 11s.
Ahhhh...you posted it on Note 11 forum.
Can't help you mate. Things are more complicated in mediatek devices.
Still, this thread might help a little. Good luck.
