Battery drain. Help - LG V40 Questions & Answers

Hey. just bought LG V40. i have a problem, getting serious battery drain issue, in a hour about 2-3%, overnight 15-25%. tried factory data reset, airplane mode, battery saver, disabled unnecessary apps and AOD... but nothing helped. if i turn off phone, there is no drain (maybe). What i must do? It's verizon, sceen set to Full HD, no auto brightness, Android 9.0 pie, on March security updates
Battery life health via Accubattery and Antutu app is 75%, but phone works even when 2-3%, and using time is normal
Also have one problem, there is no write fast charge, it works only if i turn off phone and then charge or charge and restart phone

[Q] Wifi battery usage after update to Gingerbread

I've been experiencing huge troubles with Wifi battery usage after installing OTA update. This is a huge problem, because I have to always keep charging phone while at home. When using default version 2.2.1, my phone used 2-3% of battery per hour while idling with screen disabled and connected to wifi network. After updating to Gingerbread it consumes 6-7% of battery each hour using the same settings. Battery life with wifi disabled is comparable or even better than with Froyo. There are no power hog apps in battery monitoring and performing factory reset hasn't changed anything.
Does anyone have any ideas how to solve this problem? Thanks.
Hello!
Your issue is weird, my Inc S is performing better in terms of battery consumption with 2.3.3 than the stock ROM...
Have you tried to make a full "fresh" install of the 2.3.3 ROM ? I read somewhere that sometime, OTA updates are messing up with your phone.
Try this ROM : http://api.viglink.com/api/click?format=go&drKey=1359&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.xda-developers.com%2Fshowthread.php%3Ft%3D1033922&v=1&libid=1305916498140&out=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.filefactory.com%2Ffile%2Fcb17e37%2Fn%2FRUU_Vivo_Gingerbread_S_HTC_WWE_2.12.405.7_Radio_20.2804.30.085AU_3805.04.03.22_M_release_187295_signed.exe&ref=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.xda-developers.com%2Fforumdisplay.php%3Ff%3D1028&title=%5BROMs%5DIncredible%20S%20Shipped%20ROMs%20Collection%20-%20xda-developers&txt=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.filefactory.com%2Ffile%2Fcb17...295_signed.exe
After flashing, do a battery calibration :
1. Let the phone drain all the battery until it just can't boot anymore; When it turns off by itself, turn it on again and again until it won't start,
2. Take off the battery for at least 1min,
3. Put back the battery, let the phone off, and put it in charge for the night,
4. Once it's fully charged, take off the battery for at least 1min,
5. Put back and turn it on.
Hope this helps!
I am having the same problem....Have you managed to fix it?

Bad battery after update

Is anyone else having bad battery life after the update? Cell Standby and Phone Idle used to draw most of the power before the update, now they're low on the list however Android OS is eating all the juice now. Android OS gets up to almost 70% usage overnight and the battery drains a good 30% or more just sitting idle for 6 hours.
I installed a program called watch dog and it's telling me that "Base System" seems to be the culprit with lots of CPU use, particularly when the phone is idle. I've tried a variety of things like uninstalling recent apps I downloaded, disabling the 4G and 3G radios, trying airplane mode, changing settings, etc. and nothing has made a difference. Really want to avoid trying resetting to factory default.
Have you tried recalibrating the battery or tried bump charging?

Since I use my nav dock in my truck to stream Pandora over my stereo, it gets charged several times a day; however, Android OS is now my big drain as well, where it used to be idle or screen using the most. Since unplugging exactly two hours ago, it has drained down to 70% on the stock battery. (I only use my extended battery when I will be away from a charger for a long time. Makes the phone too thick for my pocket to be comfortable.)
On a seperate note, Google Voice now hangs my screen as well when listening to voicemail. Hey, at least I don't get the random reboots and power ups... :what:

I doubt calibrating will fix the issue because I don't think that's the problem. A system process appears to be hanging and causing the CPU to run constantly. Maybe a bad update install?
Either way I used to get much better battery life before the update. Never had any of the random reboots or many issues with data like others.
My battery life seems somewhat worse after the update. Everything else seems somewhat improved.
My battery seems about the same if not slightly better after the update.
I do a few things to conserve battery which really conserve the battery.
1. 4G off unless I need it.
2. Battery mode set to 'maximum battery saver'.
3. WiFi sleep policy: When screen turns off (although I think the maximum battery saver will turn it off automatically)
4. Display brightness: 0% unless I need it.

How to tackle my Z3C battery drain issues?? I'm fed up

I'm fed up a bit for my Z3 C battery life. This is my second query regarding battery life.
Does keeping Mobile data and Whatsapp running ON even in standby mode drains the battery??
I usually get just 1 or 2 whatsapp messages in an hour or two.
My phone settings-
Always turned off my wifi/ bt/ nfc/ gps/ location tracking/ autoupdates etc. & everything you can think and suggest.
Use only stock custom wallpaper and no live stuff. No widgets. No sd card inserted. With only two hoemscreen wih just 2 shortcuts on each screen.
Have disabled apps which I dont use.
Stopped services of apps which are no longer needed.
No auto sync enabled for any app.
Display brightness is at 30% all times.
*****************************************************************************************************************************************************************
I use only these 3rd party apps-
Status bar mini
Network monitor mini
Whatsapp
Greenify
*****************************************************************************************************************************************************************
My daily Z3 routine-
At night while going to sleep I turn off mobile data, turn on airplane mode and turn on stamina mode. (12:30am - 9:30am)
When I wake up the next day battery is down by 4-5%.
During day, phone runs in normal mode without any stamina activated. (10am - 12:30am)
*****************************************************************************************************************************************************************
The Low-battery mode seems useless as it does literally nothing.
Also, as soon as the battery is 100% charged and if I use phone for even 5 mins the battery immediately drops to 99%, so is this normal??
Even if I capture 5 photos in stock auto mode the battery drops by 1% or 2.
I reboot my phone once a week or in 10 days or when need arises.
Ram utilised is always 1gb. But I dont feel any slowness for any app or my phone usage.
But again I dont watch any movies or play games fearing my battery will deplete in no time.
I use 2G/edge network as 3G isnt available for my operator in the city I reside.
Charging the phone to 100% from 14% takes 3 to 3.5 hours.
I have already repaired my phone using Sony pc companion and also did a factory reset as well but this issue has been haunting me every now and then.
Sony center says the battery doesnt need any replacement as its still healthy and so is my device.
The phones service menu also reports battery status as Good.
I dont know when is Lollipop gonna be out for Z3 but I fear updating to Lollipop as it may pose more issues than doing any good apart from usual gui tweaks & updates.
But just wish that lollipop brings in more relief to Z3 batteries.
It would be better if you also posted some screenshots with your battery usage.

EVERYTHING drains battery, literally everything. If your volume is on max it also drains more then when your volume is very low. (Just an example)
There is a controversy when it comes to WiFi vs 3G which drains more.
In the end I think that it depends on the coverage. For me 3G/4G drains my battery less then my WiFi due to the poor WiFi reception.
That your phone loses about 5% over night really isn't THAT bad, what I do before I go to bed is "Close all" to close all the aps running in the background (It won't terminate WhatsApp's service) and I let Greenify hibernate all programs that I selected.
There was also a talk about charging your phone to 100% vs 99% the first percentage drains fast for everyone so that's why it's maybe better to only charge it till 99%.
With screenshots of your battery usage we could help you more, but as far as I can see there is nothing wrong with your battery.
If you're rooted, try BetterBatteryStats to pinpoint the drain.

Well my device isnt rooted nor I use any wifi.
And also I use Greenify to shutdown all apps before sleeping and also I do manual force stop for many other apps as well.

NIghtime battery drain in airplane mode

Hi everybody
i'm new here and i'm writing because on my new xiaomi mi 9 se ( 3 months), i have drain battery issues.
Some times it seems to be fixed but then the problem comes out again.
Tonight device on, with airplane mode and data and wifi off i had 7% of battery drain.
I already debloated my xiaomi with ADB and i have few apps now on the devices which however seems that are not involved in the batery drain.
I'd like to attach some sreenshots but i don't how to do it
Sar_detector seems to drain battery
Yesterday i charged the device to 100% and then i switched in airplane mode.
After 7 hours on BBS i have 7 hours of SAR_SENSOR
The battery drains to 94%
I would like to solve the problem
Same problem for me on my oneplus6, randomely the overnight drain reach 30% with no indication of on bbs.
The same here on two Xiaomi Redmi 4X - Despite Airplane Mode battery depleted by about 1% per hour, ramdomly, not always. Tried in parallel with one device with all apps and settings, the other one reset to factory settings and only whatsapp installed. Tonight both suffered battery drain in airplane mode, the "complete" one "only" 0.6%/h, the barebone one even 1.46%/h. Android itselfs states on both that apps working "normally", in battery statistics no offender is visible.
