HELP with EFS backup. Imei 0 and Baseband Not Found :( - Moto G5S Plus Questions & Answers

First of all, I am an Argentine using the google translator.
Hello, good evening, I urgently need help to solve the following problem:
I have a moto g5s plus, xt18000, with android 8, to which I apply a custom rom HAVOC-OS-v3.5 TEN [10.0] - [SANDERS]). As God commands, backup the EFS folder with TWRP and apply the ROM.
The rom worked wonderfully, but it had no mobile network. Yes IMEI.
Perform the restore from TWRP, but it remained the same, without network, but with IMEI.
I went back to a stock 8 to see if I got the signal back. In addition to not recovering it, I LOST THE IMEI and BASEBAND.
Install a stock 7 and nothing. In all (in 8 and 7) install twrp and restore, but without it working.
And just in case I googled EVERYTHING, in ALL languages.
It gives me a lot of anger because I have the blessed backup of the EFS folder and it does not work for ANYTHING.
I know there are many posts on this topic but in none I found a solution, or guide.
Can somebody help me?
Thank you.
EDIT: In fastboot I Have my ORIGINAL IMEI. But in android is 0.

Hi maurorisuenio, i had the same issue flashing evo x rom on my wife phone. I spent almost 1 day to solve the problem, i'll try to give you my step to step guide, it worked for me.
- from custom rom flash back to stock rom, i used RETEU version 8.1 (i don't know what's the south america stock rom), on xda is full of thread "how to flash stock rom"
- flash custom recovery 'cause when you flash stock rom it repleace custom recovery with original one.
- now restore your EFS backup
- boot the phone, you should get back your IMEI but still no network signal
- flash the custom rom you want wiping system/data/cache just to have a clean install
-reboot your phone.
As i said it worked for me, hope it's ok for you as well.

Download the latest stock firmware and flash it in fastboot mode and remove sim before flashing and after phone boots insert sim, you will get your signal and imei back

[Q] Caught in Bootscreen loop - i9305 LTE have access to CWM! [SOLVED]

My i9305 LTE is caught in a boot loop (just loops the start-up screen of any ROM I install). I have access to CWM recovery v6.0.4.5 and also download recovery.
The only thing I can think that might have caused this was when I installed Archidroid I (foolishly?) selected the only partition that wasn't ext4, to be set as ext4. It's not booted past any of the bootscreens on any ROM since I did this.
I've tried wiping all data and cache and also doing a data/factory reset and every "clear data" option available and I'm still caught in a boot screen loop on any ROM I try.
I've formatted each of the folders on the device by mounting and formatting (I don't need to keep any data on the phone) and then to get a new ROM on the phone I've inserted an SD Card, mounted it in CWM recovery and installed it from the .zip that way, all ROMs I've tried just lock up at their boot screen, it just loops over and over.
I've searched this forum and on Google but cannot find a solution or anyone with a similar issue, most that have had a similar looping problem say they performed an Odin factory reset, which brings me to my next question.
I don't know the region of my phone as I cannot access the dialler or any of my settings to find out the region, and forgot (as I rooted so long ago). I do have on the back of the phone the codes:
FCC ID: A3LGI9305
SSN: -I9305GSMH
as well as my IMEI #
How do I know my phone region, and which firmware/rom would I use to perform a full factory reset to at least get it booting again?
Any tips/ideas please, that would be much appreciated.

what country do you live? the region is the country you live in, just search for your official firmware on sammobile or samsung update site. and download the firmware for your country, flash it with odin.
also update your recovery to the latest available in your case cwm 6.0.4.7

Hmm... Good question. I understand your issue here but im afraid i cant answer this.. While it was working what firmware was running on it? What baseband? If you have any kind of info of the working firmware, analyze it with firmwares on those sites and try to find the one you need.

Well I was in the same pickle
whicever 4.3 rom i flashed through odin i got stuck in boot logo or even if i recovered device from odin through emergency frimware and intillation
Also tried customs 4.3 roms stuck a boot logo
Here what u should try and what i did
1 flash philz recovery + 4.1.2 rom
if it works back up efs
2 Using Philz recovery wipe data factory reset + wipe cache + dalvik cache
3 in mount and storage section format everything ( THINK THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP )
4 Used odin to flash a 4.3 stock package it worked ( note u may get knox from this u may try a modifed stock package if u dont have knox and dont want to get it )

Thanks for your suggestion, I'll give that a shot tonight. I'm able to get into CWM as explained, mount and format everything so I'm not sure that this step will make a difference, but I'll do it again anyway.
So I'll see how it goes tonight. Actually been quite refreshing without a phone these past couple of days

I managed to fix it, but it had me totally stumped for a while.
I flashed philz recovery and then formatted all of the directories as I'd done previously on CWM.
I tried Slim Rom which didn't work.
I ended up tying CyanogenMod stable which actually worked, it got past the boot loop phase! - I was glad to see a setup screen after 2 days!
I then had another issue with my Cell Reception not working, no data or reception would be shown.
This seemed to happen since I tried a KitKat ROM, as I remember before the bootloop it did this on a couple of ROMs I tried to manually enter the APN over and over and it wouldn't let me save it, very annoying.
I checked the baseband in the about phone section and it was being displayed as "unknown", luckily I remembered my baseband # from when I rooted the phone about 8 months ago (XXBLL3), then I found on this forum a list of 9305i baseband downloads as .zips so I was able to load up CWM and flash it, reboot and it worked!
I will be keeping with CM Stable (10.1.3) for a while now.
I hope this helps someone else that might run into a similar issue.

[HELP]Xperia SP stuck in cyanogenmod logo after update

Hello,
I flashed CM11 yesterday and everything went alright. This morning I noticed I had an update for it and proceed to do it.
After the instalation and optimizing all apps it asked me for my simcard PIN and after I unlocked the phone it just went back to the cyanogenmod logo over and over.
I tried to reboot phone but it didn't help.
I've tried to search for similar threads but since i'm a newbie (first time I ever flashed anything) to this I decided to create this thread.
What should I do?
Thank you!
try to use flashtool. google it on how to use flashtool or check other threads.
So I guess i have to flash a stock ROM with flashtool and do it all over again right?
And btw, any reason you guys might think It got stuck in bootloop after I updated CM11? I came from a fresh stock rom. I'm kinda scared it might happen again after the reinstall.
Can't you enter recovery to flash a nandroid backup? (If you have one)
If not, you have two options to choose from.
Fastboot or flash a kernel with CWM or TWRP.
ADB push a zip file of a ROM and flash that.
Flash an FTF file using flashtool and start all over again.
There are many reasons why you're stuck in bootloop at the moment.
With the info you provided, there's no way of telling what caused it for you.
Well, i flashed stock ROM with flashtool, installed CM11 and I had no problems.
Went to settings and OTA update was available. Downloaded it and installed it, stuck in loopboot again. I just can't figure out what's wrong. My phone has bootload unlocked.
Might just do it all over and not update, is that a problem?
Don't use OTA, just download and flash updates manually using recovery.
In the future, for your ease, if this happens again just wipe the phone very clean (cache, /system, /data etc except /boot) and then re-flash the CM zip that you have.
It is a good practise if you make a nandroid backup before flashing a newer version of zip, in case of breaks. Or, you can have Titanium Backup to backup your apps automatically (pro version) everyday, so that you can be ready if there will be something bad happen.

I think I killed my note 4, plz help (Null iMEI and no signal)

I was on EKXodus N4 5.1.1 URv5 N5R5 ROM, but then I decided to go back to stock because I experience heavy lag in that ROM.
I had COG2 on my computer, so I booted my phone into download mode, opened Odin, and flashed COG2.
When I tried to turn it on, it was stuck on the T-Mobile logo when I boot on.
At that point, I flashed CF Auto Root and TWRP, and tried to restore my phone(I made a backup)
But something went wrong, it showed it couldn't normal boot, either that, or it's stuck in recovery mode when booting on.
So basically I went back and forth between stock and custom, and constant flashing of root and TWRP.
Now, I finally get it to turn on, but it's on EKXodus N4 5.1.1 URv5 N5R5.
TLTR: My IMEI is unknown, and I couldn't get signal on my phone.
Plz help me T.T
As I understand that version of the rom might have been built with the new baseband (DOK2) so when you tried to install the one you had previously (COG2) it failed, my advice would be to try flashing the new version (N910TUVU2DOK2) and see if it fixes your IMEI issues. Before doing all of this verify the version you need (N910T or N910T3) to prevent any issues.
try with kies 3
Try to use emergency firmware recovery option from kies3
but first make a full wipe on twrp data, cache, dalvik, system and internal storage x3 times, reboot on download mode and then use kies to restore your note, if you was on cog2 restore it, or if you was in dok2 restore dok2.
Pd: sorry for my english

[HELP]No Wifi or Mobile Data After Stock Flash

I reflashed stock after a TWRP backup sent me into a bootloop and now my phone can't recognize the SIM or connect to Wifi. Can somebody please help?
Edit: I'm not sure why this worked, but I fixed this by trying to flash the Havoc custom ROM. The ROM wouldn't boot, but when I reflashed stock afterwards, the problem was fixed.
was your imei intact before you reflashed back to stock

I'm not sure if you're referring to when I reflashed stock and had problems or when I reflashed stock after trying to flash Havoc and fixed it. I can't answer either way because both times I reflashed I was stuck in a bootloop, so I couldn't check the IMEI.

Since everything works when you have the Android One ROM installed, try backing up the EFS with that ROM installed and restoring on the ROM you want to use.
No wifi after flashing ROM
I had the same thing happen after flashing a ROM. In my case, it was a repeatable error. I reflashed the modem partition from the stock modem after flashing the custom ROM and everything started working again.

Yup my baseband also became unknown after flashing custom rom through twrp but I downloaded the firmware and flashed it through fastboot but it was still not working so I read somewhere to remove the Sim before flashing and it worked you should try it too
