ok google and china vendor - Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro Questions & Answe

Anyone using china fw/vendor able to use ok google?

Using China ROM closed beta, Ok Google doesn't work because of "unsupported language".

I'm on CN 11.0.8 and I get the same error, I don't think Google assistant will work on any stock Chinese firmware

Many custom roms (aosp) require updated region specific vendor and this sucks. This is why I use EEA Global to work with ok google.
I was hoping if there could be any workaround on this.

Not working for me as well, I'm on Indian vendor latest.

I am using evox with china vendor, ok Google working fine

Not working for me with latest Pixel experience, EU/International vendor. Can't enable it, shoots back to off when I press.

Question Google Maps Timeline/Location History not working on Mi 11 Ultra China

Like the title states, I'm unable to activate the location history in Google maps. I've granted basically all permissions to Google maps and location is set to 'On', but the option to turn on location history glitches out when pressed.
Anybody have this activated? Or have any ideas to fix it?
Thanks!
I would suggest for you to unlock the bootloader and install the global or EU rom, I was on the CN rom and it would revoke everything I had set with google after a period of time..

Thanks for that heads up... Are you using any of the suggested variants? If so, any downsides to it?
My preference would be the official global ROM, is there a guide for it?

If you are using Chinese stock ROM, the Google services framework installed was only a mini version, well it was on mine. You need Xiaomi EU, Global or EEA versions with full GSF installed for Google history to work as expected.

Thank you. After reading up a bit, I will go with Xiaomi EU since it will allow me to use Google Pay as well.

Umm Google pay works on cn as well lol
that's what I suspected too.
just noticed after 18th Sept 2021, I do not have any location history recorded and my Location History is OFF (on phone) although my Google web shows ON.
Based on my record my LineageOS corrupted on 18th Sept 2021 night and I reverted to Chinese ROM the next day...

General New concept about Chinese Rom Mi 11 Ultra

i intnded to flash xiaomi.eu on my Mi 11 ultra chinese version but i gave atrial for rollback to chinese rom from global rom i faced 3-4 errors but finally i flashed the last fastboot chinese rom and i found that
1-installed all google apps working ok, and debloat chinese apps with ADB
1-chinese rom is underestimated specially for non-chinese persons it is not bad at all
2-faster and fluent than global rom better battery backup
2-Fast updates with new features
3- calls recording without prealert voice

Thank you so much, as I thought China official is a rocket, despite Xiaomi EU which is very lacking in performance and has some bugs as well, next week as soon as I have my OC I will install this, would be nice if we could install the weekly as well but I don't think you can find the fastboot version
agree mate,i bought also cn mi 11 ultra and i make a comparison with a friend of mine with eu and cn its much faster than eu at everything..bench/scrolling/fluidity/responce

You can use the official updater, easy, if you have root it is a bit different but still you can use it I'll tell you how in that case

Tried the ROM and found no problems. I would just ask how did you manage to enable the google play certification in the latest build?, can you teach me how to do it so that i can enable it in the future builds. I really need google services working in my phone and I want to use the latest builds as well.

Like the other versions just the different store themes and some apps.
To change version you must unlock the bootloader then flash the rom by relocking it or root the phone and use Magisk hide, for a certified play store.
Best time to install a Xiaomi EU rom which has the call recorder and which does not require root.

Has anyone been able to properly extract the Indonesian MIUI dialer from the Indonesian firmware and make it work in the European MIUI? Thanks
I remember I messed around with it before but only managed to port the Indonesian messaging app for some reason. I'm guessing the Indonesian dialer app has some hidden dependencies that we must port as well to make it work in European MIUI...

Since the time that I use Xiaomi, never seen this type of porting.
Xiaomi EU rom have the Miui dialer with phones intended only for the Global or European market so surely possible, unfortunately they are not open sources.
