Blokada Setup for RealmeUI v1.0
(non-root Ad-blocker for Android)
Some things to know:
• Color OS / Realme UI use their own private DNS servers at system-level, which makes ad-blocking impossible.
• Using Blokada we can bypass those restrictions.
• You may need to re-verify and re-apply these settings after each OTA update.
• This method should work for other devices running RealmeUI v1.0
Steps:
• Download & install latest Blokada from here: https://blokada.org
• The Blokada version on Playstore is a SLIM version and does not support host ad-blocking.
• Apply the settings as listed below and restart your phone.
• Verify if the applied settings are persistent after restarting. Open Blokada App and activate Blokada.
Settings App > App Management > App List
• Blokada > Data Usage Status > Enable "Background Data"
• Blokada > Power Saver > Select "Run In Background"
• Blokada > Enable "Auto Startup"
• Blokada > Permissions > Allow "Storage"
Settings App > Additional Settings
• Recents Tasks Manager > Enable “Blokada”
• Get Recommendations > Disable “Get Recommendations”
Settings App > Other Wireless Connections > Private DNS
• By default it should be set to "Off"
• But it doesn't work, it is probably a firmware bug.
• Select "Auto" > Now Select "Off" again.
Blokada App > Settings
• Ad blocking > Ad blocking Settings > Download on WiFi only > Select “No”
• Ad blocking > Ad blocking Settings > [BETA] Advanced ad blocking rules > Select “Yes”
• DNS > Recommended DNS servers > Choose as per your preference
• DNS > Manage > DNS servers list > Select "Sync"
• DNS > Manage > Alternative DNS Answer > Select "Yes"
• App Settings > Start on Boot > Select "Yes"
• App Settings > Reports > Select "Yes"
• App Settings > Keep Alive > Select "Yes"
Extra features: (for advanced users only)
• You can selectively block domains by going into Blokada > Settings > Ad blocking > Host Log > Select the domain you think is serving you ads > Select “Block”
• Alternatively you can use wildcards, but it is still in BETA. Blokada > Settings > Ad blocking > Blocked Hosts > Add a new host > Enter your hosts as wildcard entries > Example: *heytapmobile.com

Dear all, I've tried to install this app following this tutorial but it seems that I'm last version the configuration is completely different because blokada settings are different and it seems that works through vpn and not like a traditional ad blocker. Is there any way to use it or other recommended app for ad blocker purpose?

As far as I know Blokada really works via VPN (therefore it's also usable for not-rooted devices). Only if you're rooted other options/apps that edit the hostfile are available. Personally, I'm using AdAway for years now, also because I need my VPN for other purposes.

I get Unfortunately, Settings has stopped after update
I have a strange issue with my own watch face which for some reason I also can reproduce with native app. Can someone please test the following for me: 1. Open Settings - > Scroll to Developer Options 2. ADB debugging - > Enable - > Scroll down - > Debug over Bluetooth - > Enable 3. Exist to watch face 4. Swipe up Debugging Card - > Debugging over Bluetooth is enabled. - > Scroll to left to see Open - > Press Open On 5.1.1 or 6.0.1 Emulator this will open Settings. For me I get Unfortunately, Settings has stopped. Is this happening to you as well? I have factory restored the watch but this is no go. Thanks for the feedback!

Screen overlay detected
After updating my Huawei Mate S to Android Marshmallow EMUI 4.0.1 (CRR-L09C432B361) I am having screen overlay issue. Sorry, I can't give screenshot. Gallery, facebook upload, Gmail etc. are not working properly. I am getting a message like this- "Screen overlay detected- To change this permission setting you first have to turn off the screen overlay from Settings > Apps". When I click on Settings tab, it takes me to a settings section named "Draw over other apps". When I click on the relevant app, I find some of their permissions denied, which I can't turn on. I did some googling and found some other related posts mostly indicating to disable some kind of screen filtering apps or clean master which I don't have. Tried resetting, then wiping cache data, didn't fix. Tried disabling developer options, didn't work. Can anyone help to solve this issue.
As you probably know by now & as I understand it, this is a security measure, which will trigger Marshmallow to pop-up 'Screen overlay detected...' warnings each time you try to change an app's permissions (i.e. for the apps that are affected by this 'drawing over other apps' feature). There are 2 ways to get around this so you are allowed to freely change apps' permissions (do one or the other - whichever is more convenient for you): 1. Go to Settings > Apps > access 'Advanced' (near the bottom) > under 'Advanced' subsection, access 'Draw over other apps'. Here, individually change the settings of ALL the apps to 'No' (in other words, disable 'Permit drawing over other apps' for every app). Once done, you can freely change apps' permissions in Settings > Apps > [name of app] > 'Permissions' without the annoying 'Screen overlay detected...' warning popping-up every time. Once you have correctly changed the permissions (for every app that's not working properly), you should return to individually change each of the apps' settings to 'Yes' in the 'Draw over other apps' section (in other words, re-enable 'Permit drawing over other apps' for every app). or (easier for me) 2. Reboot your phone into Safe Mode (click here if you need to know how). Once in Safe Mode, you can freely change apps' permissions in Settings > Apps > [name of app] > Permissions without the annoying 'Screen overlay detected...' warning popping-up every time. Once you have correctly changed the permissions (for every app that's not working properly), restart the phone as normal. For both of the above & If you prefer, all changeable apps' permissions can also be easily done via Settings > Apps > access 'Advanced' (near the bottom) > access 'App permissions'. I have a problem after update to B361, I can't use somes apks with my internet data (only with Wifi) like Youtube, Pokemon Go, Snapchat. I checked and every app have all the permissions (incluyed internet data permissions) so I don't know what to do. Any help?

Click to collapse Will this also work on Nougat? Running resurrection remix 5.8 on Mi max Hydrogen. Running LMT Pie launcher prevents me from granting any permissions or sideloading any APKs. Is this specifically for the Mate S? If it's safe to flash on nougat on the Mi Max, I could try it on Mi Max.

I'm sure some of you have seen this error: "There is a problem parsing the package" when trying to install an APK. I have the Chinese [CN] variant of this phone running Realme UI. I get this error with ALL apk packages. Greetings! I was wondering if there are any working GCAM Ports for the V40 prior to the Android 10 Update without having the need of rooting the device. Thank you and God Bless!
Android 10 GCAM from Fu24 On my T-Mobile V40 I use the GCAM apk from Fu24. The Android 10 version has the "A10" in the file name suffix. Here is the version I'm using: https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/Gcam_6.1.021_Advanced_V1.6-Fu24_5Lens-02-A10.apk After installation, go to Settings and make these changes: 1) Set HDR+ Parameters to "5". (Higher values produce better pics but slow down processing time). 2) Go to Settings > Mod Settings > Advanced > FIX. Turn on "Buffer Fix". 3) Go to Settings > Mod Settings > Advanced > FIX. Set Viewfinder Format to "JPEG". 4) Go to Settings > Photo > Advanced > Final JPG quality. Set to "100%".
