How did I successfully recovered my soft bricked Samsung phone along with data:
1. My phone was soft bricked while upgrading from Android 9 to Android 10. It was stuck at the SAMSUNG logo after booting.
2. Phone was having FRP LOCK & OEM LOCK both turned on (We can this info from restarting phone in recovery mode by pressing Power & Volume Up buttons)
- From info available on internet, I realised that if phone is FRP LOCK or OEM LOCK, then flashing it with TWRP is NOT recommended.
- So I decided to flash it with stock firmware only (A Stock ROM/Firmware is an official software that is designed by the manufacturer for a particular device)
3. To flash firmware using Odin, we first need to turn on the phone in download mode. Generally we can do this by starting phone by pressing Volume down + Power buttons
However, for some reasons my phone was not going in download mode (even after pressing those eyes). But it was going in recovery mode.
4. I used USB Jig to put the phone forcefully in download mode. (USB Jig is available on Amazon)
- Turned off phone using option provided in recovery mode
- Attach USB Jig
- Then press power button. Phone starts in download mode. Remove Jig quickly and attach USB cable and connect it to computer to flash it with Odin
5. Then I used Odin to flash stock firmware. In download mode, Odin detects the phone.
- In my case the phone was soft bricked because of the Android 10 upgrade. Hence I flashed it with Android9 firmware.
- Android9 stock firmware available here: https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/g...e/SM-A605G/INS/download/A605GDXU6BSL1/310956/
- Important: Read all instructions carefully on the site above how to use Odin to flash. Especially remember: Use HOME_CSC_*** if you want to keep your apps and data. This is VERY important.
- Also, first add all those AP, BL, CP etc files to Odin & then connect phone (which is in download mode) via USB and then click on Start button in Odin to start flashing
- After flashing with Android 9 firmware, I disconnected the phone from PC and restarted. But it was still hanging at Samsung logo. It was frustrating.
- But then I again rebooted the phone and this time just connected to PC, then it took some time to get the Samsung logo but then whoaaaa... it started successfully I was able to see all the data

Solution: Recovering from soft brick

I faced a unique problem today...
1. Got a notification to update Super Su
2. After updating, went to the app and it asked for updating binary...clicked Ok
3. Asked which method to use- Normal or CWM/TWRP...clicked CWM/TWRP
And all hell broke loose...the phone rebooted and kept stuck at Samsung GT-N7000 screen
Tried booting into recovery using the Vol Up+Menu+Power Button but failed to boot into recovery and always booted in the same GT N7000 screen
In short my custom recovery was messed up...
The above may not be a huge problem for people frequenting these forums and having basic google search finesse, but still it took me more than 3 hours to un-brick my phone after trying several combinations and permutations, so to the benefit of other members here's my simple solution:
1. Check if you can get into download mode by using Volume Down+Menu+Power Button
2. If not, your problem might be more serious and you should keep searching for a solution...best of luck!
3. If you can get into download mode, fine ...lets continue...
4. Prepare your PC for flashing a custom recovery via PC Odin:
a. Download PC Odin: I used Odin 3 V 1.85
b. Download a custom recovery: I used Philz 5.03
c. Uninstall Kies and Samsung Drivers from your PC (do it, it worked for me!)
d. Install latest Samsung Drivers afresh
e. Eject and physically remove all USB connected devices from your PC
f. Disable any antivirus software
5. Now get to download mode on your handset- after Volume Down+Menu+Power Button- on the next screen press Vol Up key to enable download mode. Do not connect phone to PC yet.
6. Run Odin as administrator. Let the app window come up on your screen.
7. Connect the original Samsung USB cable to the USB port at the back of your PC- this is to ensure it gets connected to the motherboard USB slot directly- please do this- critically important- at least in my case. For a laptop, I guess any port will do.
8. Connect your phone to the PC using USB cable
9. The ID:COM indicator on the PC ODIN window should turn yellow in a few minutes
10. Do not click on any buttons on ODIN Window- Auto-Reboot and F.Reset Timer should be checked and everything else should be left unchecked.
11. Click on PDA tab on ODIN and browse to the custom recovery tar file, select it- it should now appear under PDA tab.
12. Click on start and let ODIN do its thing...
13. Disconnect the phone after successful reboot.
The above steps helped me recover my soft-bricked phone.
I understand you should follow the steps verbatim to use this method...believe me I have tried several iterations- using front USB port, trying without disconnecting all other devices from USB port, without uninstalling Kies, et al...and failed everytime.
I hope this helps you.

samsung note 1 N7000 do not boot

Hello,
I have read many posts, very interesting but no solution of my trouble.
My phone does not boot.
I have tried a factory recovery, nothing.
I have installed the USB driver, the ODIN. I tried to communicate through ODIN with different stock ROM, different ODIN versions, USB drivers and computer, nothing.
Maybe the reason is that the settings of the phone is not set to accept downloading through USB port.
What is your opinion?
Thanks
for information the configuration is
phone samsung galaxy N7000GSMH,
windows8,
USB_Drivers_1.5.27.0,
odin V3.09, V3.10, V3.12
ROM N7000XXLRI_
Se
Pleaze, does anyone have an idea?
I read that I should enable the usb debug in my device, but the phone is stuck in the boot....
Please help
Can you enter the recovery mode ?
I have the same sort of issue. My current phone just bricked itself, so I reached into the closet and pulled out my old GT-N7000, only to find it won't boot. Only the initial boot screen is displayed.
Charging mode works, and I can get it into download mode , - but not recovery. Odin recognises the phone, though not consistently. When I try to flash a stock ROM via Odin, with or without repartitioning (PIT file), Odin begins the operation and just stalls indefinitely.
Does this indicate hardware failure?

SM-T817W 5.1.1 Firmware T817WVLU0AOF3 Canada Request and Stuck in Recovery Mode

Hi all,
Looking for some assistance... I jumped the gun after reading through a few of these forms and attempted to update the firmware on my Samsung Galaxy S2 Tab 9.7 SM-T817W official to Android 7 (T817WVLU3CQE4) I downloaded online. I was just looking for an official update to version 7 (ie no root or custom F/W) as nothing would happen over the air.
From some additional reading, I believe if I obtain the original firmware T817WVLU0AOF3 and flash it with Odin, it may bring the tablet back to life?
Does anyone has firmware T817WVLU0AOF3 ?
Device current status: boots to "An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC Software." I can enter download mode using PWR + VOL DN + HOME.
Initial process I followed during attempted upgrade:
- downloaded "T817WVLU3CQE4_T817WOYA3CQE4_T817WVLU3CQE4_HOME.tar.md5" firmware that MD5 hashes to "6af7e575035d1877b877508e06b29317"
- downloaded and installed samsung USB driver SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_ver_1.5.65.0
- put tablet into download mode
- Connected to tablet with Odin3 v3.13.1 and flashed with options "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" checked only using firmware above in the AP box.
- process failed just after system.img file line in Odin and the table screen showed "Downloading..." with the progress bar at the beginning (one bar of progress)
- after resart, device boots to "An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC Software."
Where I may have gone wrong:
- Did not enable USB debugging
- Did not OEM unlock bootloader
- Factory Reset Protection (FRP) was on (Google account on device and PIN for entry screen)
I'm not sure if all and specifically what of these options above need to be set for the upgrade to work in this case. Does anyone have specific insight here?
Troubleshooting attempted:
- tried different USB cable
- tried different USB port on computer
- tried different version of Odin (Odin3_v3.12.7, Odin3-v3.10.6)
- downloaded Samsung Smart Switch- attempted to run Emergency Recovery mode => device would not show up in list.
- downloaded Samsung Kies v 3 - attempted to update firmware via menu => no firmware found
- downloaded "T817WVLU2AOK3_T817WOYA2AOK3_T817WVLU2AOK3_HOME.tar.md5" 5.1.1 firmware that MD5 hashes to "7bc616642e6556b8e00a4f4a62ff3b68" => failed the same
- edited at custom .tar.md5 file that only contained recovery.img from above => with downloaded with PASS in Odin but still would not boot. Makes me think cable, USB and Odin version is OK and all issues are around wrong firmware and other processes.
Any help appreciated! Thanks!
