XQ-AT52 Dual Sim Sound / Notifications Too Quiet... - Sony Xperia 1 II Questions & Answers

I keep missing notifications because they are just too quiet on the phone even with maxed volume. Anyone else have this issue? Any fixes?

No issue.. i like the notification on Xperia.. very high and gentle enough to recognize it.
Try to change the notification sound.. any difference?
I dont know if it's related.. but did you enable dolby atmos and all sound effects mode?

In-Call volume very low

Hey everyone,
I have the problem that the call-volume is very low. I've already tried different settings, but there is not really any help.
Does anyone have the same issues? When I'm in a silent ambient, it is okay, but e.g. in the train it is really hard for me to understand the other person.
And no - my ears are not THAT bad
Haven't really noticed an issue with mine, although not usually calling from anywhere that is too noisy.
yes i have that prob.setting the qualiser to bright and disabling speaker voice enhancement improves it a little. but still the call volume is low.
Yes i also feel its bit low... but not very low!
For me it's good enough!
When I have a call in quiet place or a noisy place like in the city or a cafe or something, I understand everything good
i have that problem tooooo.in fact i fight with my gf every time cuz i cant hear what she say ,any advice to fix this problem?can i change some setting and fix this?
It's not that bad! Try using the earphones

Did this solution work for anyone? I am not seeing much difference, please help me if there is any third party application which can be used to boost the volume.
I've wanted to find out if there's a way for some time!
I connect to my car via aux cable for hands free.
But when I get a call I have to increase volume 7 or 8 steps for me to hear.
And then when the call finishes, I get deafened from when the radio kicks back in!

[Q] Volume bug?

I was wondering if anyone else is noticing this:
Initial volume for ringtones, alarms, and notifications is very low and with sufficient repetition will eventually achieve its set volume.
This doesn't appear to be the case with music, video or any other 'in app' volume, which is working as expected.
Thanks for any responses.
Should be a setting for the volume to start low, then increase or disable that feature.
Hope they didn't take it out with lollipop.
Mine is like that too and I haven't found any settings to change it. Maybe it has something to do with the two speakers and its a safety feature.
Yep, appears to be a safety implementation. Still want to disable it. To the internet!

The Speakers Megathread

How is everyones speakers holding up? I dont always get a distortion at max volume but there are specific tones where I can hear them. The one specific example I can think of is the default alarm tone (I think its oxygen). Anyone else have a similar experience? Or is the phone supposed to be distortion free for all tones at max volume?
Thanks!
I sometimes get crackling/distortion from the top speaker but I noticed a new issue with mine last night.
I had my handset on silent and pulled down to my quick settings/tiles I switched WiFi on and held the device close to my ear, I could hear a few seconds of a 'buzzing clicking' noise then it stopped, I turned the WiFi off and the same thing again.
It happens on both the top and lower speaker and makes this noise whenever I turn on or off the wiFi or Mobile Data. It also doesn't matter if it's on silent or active notifications.
Is it just the radio being activated/turned off?
Does it happen to anyone else?
l also got my first random shutdown last night too.

The speaker issue is not actually a hardware issue It's actually a bug. Some people get panicked and apply for a replacement but there is a high chance to face the same issue on the replaced device too. But on some device it's a hardware issue which can be evident in ANY volume not in the specifically the HIGHEST volume
How can distortion be a software issue though?

The sound issue can easily be a software issue, it does not necessarily have to be distortion coming from the speaker. That word is being thrown around too easily. But the OS could be sending bad code to the speaker, which comes out sounding like distortion. With the vast amount of people claiming to have this, I am more inclined to think it is more of a software bug.
PS - How is this a "mega" thread'? Just because the OP wants it to sound like an 80's hair metal concert title?

Speaker quieting itself while playing Media, Ringtones, etc.

I've seen this brought up before other places but I've never seen an answer or a fix. My G6 starting quieting itself after playing a sound for a few seconds. It does this with ringtones, videos, alarms, everything that goes through the speaker. Headphones work fine, and the volume is at Max, even just changing the volumes in settings and it plays and example of the volume, it will quiet itself down within a few seconds however the slider stays at the maximum. I've had the phone for quite a while and it just started this a few weeks ago on oreo. I'm now on Android 9.0 but the issue is still there. Safemode doesn't help and if I do the Moto hardware test it plays at full volume without quieting down at all. Just wondering if anyone found a fix for this at all? Thanks!

Do you have the volume leveler turned on in Dolby?

I believe the settings are different for Dolby audio in 9.0 but I did not have the leveler on with Android 8.0. It seems like it turns the volume down to around 50% 3-4 seconds into any playing audio through the speaker.
Anyone else experiencing this issue by chance?

Finally updated to pie, I see the difference.
Plug in headphones, you get more options. Don't know if it helps. Might be a defective phone. I only get that when a notification comes through

Speaker sound too low?

Hello. Recently I've bought used XZ2. The phone is working very good. It is updated with latest possible update for the model, but the sound is bothering me. Ringtone, notifications, alarm etc - all sounds are too quiet at maxed volume. I can barely hear Viber notification sound or when an email comes in.
Any ideas if that's a common issue for the model or maybe this particular phone has some kind of hardware problem with the speaker? Thanks!
