Question? Do you use wifi calling? I am very impressed with this kernel, I ran it for a day until I realized that I couldn't get wifi / vowifi enabled regardless of what I tried. I read in another thread that there are certain implementations of wifi drivers that possibly break this functionality. Need another user to verify. Reverting to previous kernel solved the issue.

Not extensively but works when I do.

Thanks for checking, I just flashed again and still can't get it enabled. No other kernel has this behavior for me. But I guess it's still possible it's something on my device. Thanks.

This kernel is using stock wifi driver from oneplus, nothing changed regarding stock wifi implementation.

what can we do with the Nintendo switch driver ?

Adds support for the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons and Pro Controller.
All controllers support bluetooth, and the Pro Controller also supports
its USB mode.

Is it possible that kernel in general can cause problems with the stock cam? Since I flashed latest built I can't make any video or slomo with stock cam. I can record it but can't watch/play it after. Flashing back to stock kernel and it's working fine again. Can somebody on latest EU and latest RK test it and report if it's working. Tx

This kernel is a joint collaboration between @joshuous and myself. Our primary goal is to deliver a fast, smooth and stable kernel with Energy Aware Scheduling (EAS). We have spent countless hours backporting, experimenting, tuning and improving our understanding of EAS in our kernels. We aim to keep our kernel slim on features, adding only what we believe is essential.
It is also our desire to initiate Development Discussions among the community. This will be a noob friendly thread as long as users follow two rules. First is to do some research before asking. Most likely your question has already been asked. If not in this thread then in another. Remember to always search first! Second is BE RESPECTFUL. You do these two things and even the most hardened Dev will assist you.
Features:
* Energy Aware Scheduler optimization/changes
* Upstreamed to 4.9.196
* Dynamic Stune Boost
* Wake Gestures
* KCAL Color Control
* Sound Control
* LED Control
* Min Back Light Control
* Wireguard
* Vibration Control
* USB Fast Charge
We recommend EX Kernel Manager/ Franco Kernel Manager for making kernel changes
Kernel Downloads:
Latest OOS-P Build
Please note:
Because of how Android Pie deals with the ramdisk, Magisk is now required to properly apply default kernel settings.
Instructions:
* Boot into Recovery
* (Recommended) Make a complete backup of everything! At least backup BOOT via TWRP
* If you're not coming from a completely clean ramdisk, please re-flash your rom.
* Flash kernel zip
* Reboot
Reporting Bugs (please read):
* Make sure you're not using any tweak apps (Greenify, Naptime, anything else related), otherwise no support will be given. If you have an issue, disable all your tweaks first and see if that fixes your problem. Otherwise, flash the stock kernel and see if you can reproduce it as well.
* If you previously flashed another kernel, make sure you dirty flashed the full ROM zip before flashing RenderZenith kernel.
* Logs! Please provide all logs via Syslog app from the Play Store.
THANKS!!!!
* The kind people who keep this project alive
* Everyone who supported us throughout our projects

RenderZenith for OOS-P-OP6: V1.0.0 is here!!!
Things to note:
This is our initial release for the OP6/T and has all the normal RZ features you have come to expect. This release has taken a large amount of work, testing, reworking, retesting and so on but I feel that it is finally up to RZ standards.
Because of how well the kernel was performing, I was able to adjust the default settings to allow the big cores/cluster to idle longer. I was able to do this by disable touchboost, and only boosting small cores. This allows the big cores to not be needlessly boosted, thus waking them from idle/sleep.

Great to see new kernel for OP6T.
Thanks devs for hard work and awesome kernel
Great work :good:
Thanks to the devs for the awesome kernel!
Thank you very much. Following your work since G2 days. It is great to have you here and enjoy your quality work.
If you could support AOSP ROMs in a future, it would be even better. Best regards
Does this work on open beta or just stable?

I will be working on supporting the op6 custom scene as well. I am very happy with how the oos release has come. Testing Def shows a great improvement over stock kernel. I look forward to pushing it further a doing the same for custom roms.

Both though I highly recommend stable. There is some weird dequeuebuffer thrashing that consistently happens on open Beta. I recently went to stable and the difference is night and day. Testing had also shown a great improvement between stock kernels for OB and stable.

Yea, I will make op clearer about this. You will need to flash Magisk before flashing RZ. I would recommend coming from a clean ramdisk as well. Otherwise other kernel scripts may interfere with RZ.

Well ofc. We are already supporting op6t because the kernel source is unified.

This is also correct. Still, I always keep a backup of the current rom Bootimg that I am on. This way I can restore to make sure the ramdisk is clean. One thing though is you will always be able to dirty flash RZ ontop of RZ unless told otherwise.
Finally! Excellent work chaps
@RenderBroken since the kernel is unified, could you possibly start a thread over in the 6T forums since we don't have a unified thread for 6/6T yet?
Nice, another kernel for us to try.
Thank you.
Was using ur kernel from the days of op3 and then on op5. Now Atlast came to op6.

Always best to restore stock Bootimg when changing different kernels. You don't need to do this while dirty flashing the same kernel, at least not for RZ.
Awesome

Curious about EAS. Since the OP6T comes w/SD845 it should have EAS already. Does this kernel just implement it better?

The 845 caf base has eas bits and pieces. Alot more eas in pie than oreo had for sure. But with that, eas is what we are most interested in. I don't really care to just tweak stock base, add in a bunch of features and just be a clone of all the other great kernels out there. We want to do something different. So we seek to implement proper eas changes along with other changes that we feel add to the overall experience. I am really happy with RZ for the op6. I am sure others will enjoy it as well and see the amount of work put into this has paid off. I have personally been working on this for months, but we like to test, tweak, retest, tweak some more, etc. It is a balancing act. We have a pretty indepth testing process to make sure the changes we make are an improvement rather than going backwards. Also, we started this collaboration back on the op3 when no one knew about EAS. Same for the op5, and now for the op6.
Awesome! Had this Kernel on my 3T and loved it! Good to see you here again!
Thanks again Render -- I remember your work from way back. Just wanted to note that v1 of the kernel works great on Open Beta 2.
Flashed it yesterday. No issues (followed instructions).
Exited now how this one performs. Over night drain was okay. Have messed around with kernel settings a lot in the past but finally settled to "flash and forget". And this kernel appears to me to provide just that sort of experience
EDIT: running latest stable OOS release
I am last 2 days on RZ. No problems for now, with flashing or during usage. Everything is smooth, my phone sleeping like a baby (0.3% per h during night idle drain).
Really good kernel. If support for FK or Exkm or even own app will be available, even better , for easier instalation and update notice
I upgraded my phone to OOS 9.0.11 (both slot A and B) and make sure system is working (untouched stock rom, twrp, magisk). Then I flashed this kernel. The phone shut down itself immediately after reboot. I tried again, flashed twrp, magisk, reboot to twrp and then this kernel. Same issue and I can no longer power my phone on this time.

Try: flash rom, let it boot. Flash Magisk and then the kernel.
Somehow when directly flashing Magisk after your rom it just doesn't show the boot screen. That's has been my experience.
If that doesn't solve it try if another kernel has the same issue.

You should have flashed either permissiver zip or magisk selinux manager as written in the instruction. It's never late. Follow the instruction and have fp working.

I did this with magisk selinux manager, but I guess it didn't worked. Just dirty flashed a21 for working fp. I'll try this with permissiver next time.

F2FS not work on this kernel!
A great and balance kernel indeed, and props to dev for that.
One request though, could you add the ability to increase swappiness value to 160? That'd make it possible to take multitasking to next level, thank you.

First of all download the correct kernel zip for your rom (Use CUSTOM labeled for custom roms only)
Make sure that if you coming from another custom kernel it don't modify any system files or dtb/dtbo, if it does you MUST reflash your rom before flashing this kernel, same goes if you want to roll back from here to your previous kernel
Instructions using twrp:
* Boot into Recovery
* (Recommended) Make a backup of boot, system and data partitions
* Flash Kernel Zip
* Reboot system
* (Optional) Install your preferred kernel tweaker app(EX kernel manager or Franco Kernel Managerer recomended)

Instructions using Ex kernel manager or any other app with autoflash support:
* Flash Kernel Zip
* Reboot
* Enjoy!!!
Instructions using Franco Kernel Manager:
* Import configuration file link in flasher tab

I updated to 10.5.8 ba ... and I put stock kernels, do not log. I can't install Radioactive 1.0.2 because the touchscreen drivers have been updated in the last update 10.5.8

Can you try this build and let me know if it's fixed for you? I can't reproduce myself, did and received hundreds of calls and everything was fine.

Be sure NOT to have a magisk patched image on both boot slots. That causes this behavior
