How is the P30 Pro on Android 9? - Huawei P30 Pro Questions & Answers

I've been wondering to downgrade to it just to experiment and see if it's different in a better way, but I wanted to ask if anyone's tried it and how it went.
Cheers!

Questions about the P30 pro Mystic Blue (USA user)

Hello, I just a brand "new" P30 Pro Mystic Blue, and I have a few questions that the community might be able to help me with. Firstly, places like Android Central and other reviewer websites says it has EMUI 10 preinstalled, but mine came with old EMUI 9.1. Are there any other users of the "new" P30 Pro and if so, do you also have EMUI 9.1 installed? Second question is how do I get access to the Beta for EMUI. It does not seem to work for users in the USA, are there any workarounds? Thanks.

All users have 9. 1 and not 10 cuz Q is not offical yet. There is no workaround for getting beta, u had to register for geting that via ota therefor there is no other method for updating beta. I cant remember is usa listed for country that will be part of beta project, search for that list, it is somewhere on xda.
Ok thanks very much, since there is not any camera improvements with EMUI 10, I guess I'll just wait.

Question Root?

I wonder, if anyone already rooted their SWEET?
Found this article https://www.getdroidtips.com/root-redmi-note-10-pro/
Or does anyone found another soloution?
Not yet, received mine today
Btw will warranty be void if rooted? Never had a Xiaomi phone
It does matter, in which country you're living. In the EU you don't will lose warranty even if you root your phone.
I haven't, because i still need a few more days to feel how the oficial rom performences. But in a couple of days, i'm going to try a lot of "testings" .Even so, i'm still trying to understand a litle more about whats the compatibility between 10 and 10Pro roms/firmware.
I am quite confident with the original rom. But I am also looking forward to custom roms. But the camera has to work. I had the S21 Ultra before, pls don't laugh, but the camera of the note 10 pro isn't that worse.

Welcome to XDA
Sure in here you will find ways to improve your device!
May I ask why ?
I am totally happy with my mediatek redmi note 9
In part it may be on me not using it properly. You say your model is "Mediatek", is this the same as my phone? I'm also having difficulty rooting my phone, It would seem you have to get past MIUI, so there is that. Yes, a bit lost at the moment

Note 9 pro uses snapdragon 720G. Note 9 uses mediatek.
I'm very happy happy with my my note 9 pro. And for the moment I don't see the need of change rom. The other day it updated to miui 12, based on android 11, and goes well.
Oh good to know re: snapdragon and mediatek. That's terrific you guys are liking your appliances right out of the box. I'd love to hear from others who are not so pleased and what they've done. I keep wanting to pull down from the top to see my controls and of course they don't show up. Is this me or is it MIUI ergonomics? Thank you for your responses. I'll see what I can do to change things.
What is the problem with rooting?
oh hi 171, are you asking me? Or just putting this out there? Nothing is wrong with rooting IMO, although I find it as difficult as collecting hens teeth, because there is so much information and it's hard to keep it straight, and it varies sometimes between builds, and between phones.

Running GMS on a Mate 40 Pro Plus?

Hi, everyone!
Is there a way to run GMS on a (obviously Chinese) Mate 40 Pro Plus, preferably natively without using any virtual machine?
I was searching for an answer on the forum but I just can't find a definitive answer. I have seen comments about it being possible on Chinese versions of the Mate 40 Pro (and Plus) but I can't tell if it's true and can't find any tutorials on how to make it happen.
I would be very thankful if anyone could help me.
Thanks a lot!
Hey mate,
I don't have a Mate 40 Pro+, however, from what I read, it should be possible on Chinese variants. How? Well, apparently the LZPlay which allows to install Google services only works on Chinese variants. It used to work on devices like global Huawei P40 series, but on OLDER firmware. Kinda got out of topic here, but I just wanted to explain a bit.
Not a fan of this guy's videos
But if you follow the steps he showed, you should have GMS working on your Mate 40 Pro+. Again, I do not have this device, so I can't test it myself, but according to many people's experiences online, LZPlay, or in this case, "OurPlay" does work on Chinese variants of Huawei phones. Not sure if you gotta downgrade to a specific firmware, but probably not.
To people reading this: if I am wrong at any point in my post, feel free to point it out.

Here's a recent thread discussion with information:
Is the 10 Pro worth getting?
Greetings, I've been browsing the sub for a bit and watched a few reviews about the phone because I have a pretty great deal for one and might consider buying it. I tried it out for a few minutes in a store the other day and it feels and looks...
