Galaxy Tab S5E no 3.5mm headphone jack solution - Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e Accessories

For those of you out there that bought this tablet that were a little disappointed like my self that it did not come with the headphone jack, i found a working solution. I went to my local best buy store here in the USA and bought a Belkin made adapter. The descritpion on the bottom of the front of the box is - 3.5MM audio+USB-C charge adapter. Model:F7U080BTBLK SKU:6370541. It is rated up to 36W. So it is perfect for the tablet since it only charges at 18W. I can confirm that it works as advertised. With taxes, in California, it came to $32.36USD. So not too expensive. Here is a pic of the box it came in https://i.imgur.com/M8Rxe2l.jpg

Headphone Adaptor + Microphone

Hi Folks,
I got a headphone adapter for my phone because I wanted to use it as an MP3 player which works extremely well... until I receive a call. At which point the microphone inside the phone seems to be disabled so the person at the other side can't hear me. I assume this is because it thinks the headphones are a proper headset (inc mic) and that the sound should be coming from there!
I looked into writing an android app to fix this, but it seems the SDK doesn't let you mix and match microphone and sound sources (unless I missed something), so I am currently looking for a headset which:
1. Has in ear buds (my work colleagues don't care much for very loud Nevermore)
2. Has a microphone built in
I have been looking for hours now but pretty much every one I can find is identical to the one which came with the phone which has pretty crap sound for music, and doesn't stay in my ears! I would go for bluetooth but I hear the sound quality from music for those is terrible and they're very expensive. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Goggle or eBay "HTC HS U110". I got one from eBay for 9 bucks plus shipping and they work just fine. I'm using Shure SE210 with the cord that has the microphone so I can't comment on the stock earbud quality.
Are there any places that sell just a simple mini-usb adapter <-> 3.5mm with a built-in microphone for cheaper than the ~$13 for the full HTC HS U110 kit from ebay?
I know that you can find these adapters for the iphone for a couple of bucks apiece (for the defective headphone jack). I'd like to be able to buy a bunch for my MT3G and leave them lying around wherever I might need one.

Try browsing around amazon.com
I bought the oem htc 3-in-1 adapter for $3 from one of the retailers on amazon. I don't think that one has a mic built in, but has a 3.5mm and 2.5mm jacks that i believe support headphones/sets with built in mics. You might be able find the basic miniusb->3.5mm jack and mic hole (like the one that comes with the mt3g) as well..

The HTC 3-in-one adapter was halfway broken with cupcake, and almost completely useless with donut, unfortunately. There was the toggleheadset.apk utility as a workaround, but it no longer works. I'll probably just buy a bunch of the 3.5mm adapters with no microphone from ebay; they're available for <$2 each including shipping.
I can confirm that the 3.5mm jack on the 3in1 adapter will not work on the MT3G. Although the mini usb works if you use the HTC headphones. I also tried the HTC two way thing and it didn't work either. fyi the htc headphones that came with the Tmobile Dash have a high quality sound, better than the ones that came with the MT3G and my 09 shadow, those are just crap.
I use the 3in1 adapter in my car every day to charge and listen to music on my car stereo via the 3.5mm jack, and I have a MT3G. Maybe its something in cyanogen's rom.. I think I remember reading something about that somewhere?
It would be nice to find adapters with the mic built in, I have the one that came with the phone that I use with some sony in-ears I bought, but it would be nice to have extras.
anyon tried the Seido adapter?
Just to follow up on this thread, has anyone tried the Seido adapter that also has a microphone? See this link http://www.androidians.com/seidio-mini-usb-to-35mm-adapter/11A75A2812.htm
Thanks

Perhaps you could give this a try: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.29856
I've been dealing with the same problem and just ordered one of these too.
The only thing that I'm worried about is that the cord might be a bit long, but i can always shorten that if it's annoying.
headphone adaptor
How do you like the product? Am thinking about getting one.
Skip the adaptor stuff
and go Bluetooth. I bought this a couple of weeks back
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bluetooth-S...3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1264584185&sr=8-3
pretty decent sound quality, controls for skip forward, back, vol +, vol- and play/pause. has a built in mic for calls (pauses music when your phone rings, answer and hang up with the play/pause button) and about 2 seconds to pair it up.
won't work with hero roms obviously, but cheap as chips and I'm sure they do it in the US too.
I'm just looking for a good pair of in-ear buds for the Magic that has controls for pause/play/skip like the stock headsets. Any suggestions?
I bought one off ebay from bestcellbuy: http://myworld.ebay.ca/bestcellbuy/
HTC Touch Pro Multifunction Adapter Audio Cable YC A300
Cost me $5 shipped
Now I don't have first hand experience with it. But my cousin is using it on a Sense UI 32A Magic and he says it works out of the box. Not sure if he is using the toggle app
Charges too.
I have also tried the DX one and the build quality of that was so bad that it never played music through both buds at the same time.
Not sure what you can get for skip and play functions unfortunately.
I got one of the 3 in 1 adapters from eBay for around $4-5 and the 3.5mm headphone jack works out of the box with my 32A (running CM atm)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330350652982&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
here ya go mate. this works like a charm. it has 2.5mm headset jack, 3.5mm, usb headset, and a secondary usb port for charging WHILE blasting music. plus its HTC branded and cheap as hell. took about 3 days to ship from Connecticut to Texas.

Official car charger

Having looked at a number of UK websites, only one said a USB cable came with the charger. I had been planning on buying an OEM 2 amp charger. Then I saw Clove were saying it came with a spare USB cable so the price of £24.99 didn't seem so bad any more. Got it on Friday and, yes, it did have a USB cable in the pack.
Tried it in my car runing Co-Pilot sat nav and my battery indicator showed that the charge was still going up so I am very pleasedwith it.
Only slightly disappointing thing is that the charger has only one output whereas some of the OEM ones have two, one 2 amp and one 1 amp. However, I tried it with my charger splitter and it still showed the charge was going up.
most cheap usb car charges have a screwable top; just take out the glass fuse and replace it with a 2amp/2000mA fuse which you can get at autozone, radio shack, home depot....pretty much anywhere
Really? if i just change the glass fuse i can use any usb car charge?
Is not dangerous for the electric impiant of the car?
No You can't. It is not the fuse that decides how much current the charger can give.
The fuse just protects the charger from blowing if something fails.
The regulator used in the charger sets the charging current.
true you can buy a regulator at radio shack. i've seen the 7805 for about a buck 50.
Ok, tnx guy!
Go to Best Buy or your local Apple store and pickup the Incase Ipad car charger. I've tested and works just fine with the Tab.

There are generic 2A USB cigarette lighter / car chargers on eBay for a third of the price. Worth trying too
Would you mind posting a pic of the charger?
I just bought Samsungs Car Adapter kit (ECA-P10CBECSTD) from local store, 27.90€.
It comes with cigarette lighter 12/24V usb adapter, 2 Amps 5V output, and a proprietary Samsung Tab usb cable.
A little pricey, ok, but now I have a second usb cable and a car adapter with enough output amps without fuss.

Here's the one from Clove.
Amazon UK are selling the Samsung car charger for £20.83. Pretty good deal with free delivery.
[edit]
Or there's this one also on Amazon for 99p (+£4.50 delivery!) which apparently can charge the Tab. You still need to add in the cost of the proprietary Samsung USB cable though to match the official car charger features, so not much of a bargain really...

That's all fine and dandy Paul but will an individual be bothered contacting officials just for the sake of a few pounds.
No, what I'm saying is why is it not listed..... and if anyone is considering purchasing one I would recommend they save themselves any issues by first contacting the seller to ascertain if the cable is indeed part of the deal.
If you check the item model number it's listed as a charger, nothing further.

OK well I've just ordered one so we'll soon see . The picture on Amazon looks almost identical to the one on Clove. Here's hoping they're the same otherwise I've bought the world's most expensive charger .
Guys, just so you know, you can get very cheap 2A chargers on ebay. The cable problem is still impossible to solve, but I'm sure Hong Kong people are working on it, so it might be best to wait a month and order a cheap replacement cable, rather then paying ridiculous amount of money for Samsung's original cable.
I ordered one of these a couple weeks ago:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...b43hTuXib7JjWUKJhg%3D&viewitem=#ht_1776wt_959
Came in today, and I swear the sync cable it came with is identical to the one my Tab came with, right down to the Samsung logo.
Car charger itself is a 5.0v/2000mA, looks well built, fused, and comes in a very nice retail package.
Considering the cable alone is $29 from my carrier, it's a hell of a deal. I basically bought a cable for $23 and got a car charger for free.
Hey croak that cellet charger doesnt work. it has the charging symbol crossed out... I guess you need to do usb2usb soldering mod to use any 5v2A charger. I saw the thread on here...

[n00b question/semi-rant thread] USB C to 3.5 jack adapter

Mate 10 pro user here.
I mean, really, how hard is it, to put a 3.5mm jack in a 700€ phone?
Whatever, ontopic, since I already lost my original adapter, has anyone tried one of the cheap Chinese ones, something like THIS for example? Does it work alright? If yes, I'm going to buy 30, because I'm going to lose 28. Is there something I need to be careful about?
Once again, thumbs up for taking away features. :good::good::highfive:
I think it was a Huawei executive who explained that people say they would want a thicker phone if it meant it includes feature X, but when people go and actually purchase a phone, they buy via hand feel where thinness wins.
The issue with USB C adapters is that there isn't really a standard way of getting audio out of the port. Most implementations are proprietary. You really have to buy one to test out before you go and buy 30.
i have one of this from gearbest and is working fine with mate 10 pro
also i have one with charge and audio same time and working fine. i mean audio part, charging is only regular, not fast charge

Where did you get the charge and audio cable from? I'm going to need one for my P20 Pro but a lot I see for sale don't seem to charge and supply audio at the same time (according to the reviews on Amazon at least).
i tried the adapter that comes with the mate 10 pro on my mate 10 non-pro, and it doesn't work! LOL
i bought the razer brand adapter from amazon and it is the BOMB. highly recommend.
I ordered a cheap random one from Amazon which works fine with audio, but charges at maximum 300ma, which is fine if you are using it over night, but obviously not great otherwise
Can you link that?
Anyone has a link to one that has aux and charging at the same time?
The Mate 10 Pro requires an adapter with a DAC (digital to analogue converter) in it. Basically that means the adapter needs a small audio processor and amp to convert the digital stream in to something your headphones can use.
Some of the really cheap adapters don't contain a DAC due to some different implementations of audio via USB C.
The really cheap adapters with a DAC might sound bad if the amp and processor are nasty and weak.
I'm not sure what the right amount is to spend to get a good quality one. I got a fairly cheap adapter which charges at the same time to use in the car so I can charge for sat nav and have audio (car doesn't allow Bluetooth music). The sound quality of this seems to be comparable to the bundled adapter without a charge socket when comparing the two one after the other. It's certainly not noticeably worse.
The adapter I got is advertised as allowing charging of up to 1.5a but I haven't seen more than 900ma. Still just about enough to charge slowly when listening to music, and to stop any drain if using sat nav in the car.
This isn't the seller I used but is the same product so you can see what I've got working for audio and charging:

This is the one I bought
The audio worked surprisingly well, with no hissing (Very quiet with dirt cheap headphones, but quite acceptable with a £10 pair). Only downside was that the charge was 300mA max according to Ampere - but since I was charging it overnight it wasn't an issue.
I'm sure there are better ones out there, but for less than £3 I got more than I expected!
Hi, i bought a second original adaptor from Huawei, it costs 12euros (like 15 dollars), minimal and short with great audio quality. Don't save 10 bucks on this item if you like audio quality

USB-C to 3.5mm Audio?

Has anyone used some type of USB-C->3.5mm adapter to route audio out with any luck? I'm looking to use my current my wired headphones and my car stereo aux port. I know old lol. My wireless BeatsX suck, they dont get loud at all. The wired Beats I got 6 years ago blows these POS of earbuds out of the water. Looking for any suggestions on an adapter and any special config required in android. Currently running rooted stock. Thanks.

Thanks everyone for the reply!!
Just so you know more: every adapter should work indeed.
But these adapters contain DAC (digital to analogic converter), in order to receive sound through USB and sending it through good old analogic 3.5mm. The quality of these DAC can really have a difference in sound quality. Not on standard car environment, sure, but for someone with good earphones it is worthwhile to search for a little quality for these adapters.

The OEM adapter does not have a DAC. It doesn't need one because it's correctly wired to work with the USB audio out on the OnePlus devices. So if you use this one, you're actually using the DAC in the phone itself.

Actually it sucks (at least for the OnePlus 7T), I got one too and I regret, the sound volume is really bad with the apple adapter because it wasn't made for Android phones at all of course.
I went to a miniso store and got one adapter there and is 5x times better than the Apple one, and cost 3x less. xd
Any splitter for simultaneous 3.5mm & charging which supports fast charging?
I've seen some videos on YouTube, but doesn't seem like supporting fast charging. We've real USB3.1, there should be something out there.

I tried one (from Ali Express). It is unusable while charging as I started hearing motor sound after one minute of usage. Unplug and plug that back in, again same issue in a minute. None of such adapters support fast charging as far as I know.
