MHL cable

I bought the MHL cable shown in pic,but I am not able to use,I tried connecting the usb part to my charger, still no use:crying:
The mhl cable for the s3 does not work with the Xperia Z.
You need to get the s2 cable as pictured below.
Here is a brief review by me posted earlier today in other threads
"Ok so tried the Samsung mhl cable (for the s2)
And Works with the Xperia z.
Tv launcher loads Works fine, so does the home screen. BUT it somewhat lags scrolling through them.
Where as the Xperia s with micro hdmi Works great and smoothly.
I've tried full hd/ 1080p videos; they all run smoothly on the Xperia z via mhl
Also you must plug it into a usb port (for charging) or plug the usb into your tv for the mhl to work
Refer to pic below.
I think there is an issue with the mhl cable (compatibility maybe) or it could be an issue with tv launcher/Home screen app
Who knows maybe Sonys mhl will work better."

Really!?
Hmm seems odd.
I'll just wait for the official Sony one.
Any lag with the s3 one?
You root the xZ?

when I reported the issue ,the vendor gave the one below,it works great. It seems the one for S2 and note 1
i've seen a few shops that state the original "Samsung Galaxy S2 and Note 1 MHL Cable Adapter" should work BEST for the xperia z, although others will work too with it.
i don't know if there really is a difference in tech specs in these MHL Adapters, but the Samsung thing costs the same i guess, about 20 Euro.
The difference in the Galaxy S3 compatible MHL Adapter is the pin order from the Micro USB cable and it's said to be not workin with the Xperia Phones because of that.

Kindly stop posting duplicate threads everywhere. Stick to one thread per issue at most. I have deleted the duplicates.

i think the MHL should work not the regular HDMI cable. make sure you plug in the power adapter to the cable, before you plug it in to your phone.

[Q] MHL hdmi with remote works? Y/N?

Hello xda!
I just want to ask if a MHL HDMI adapter with remote function does work on Xperia Z.
The exact adapter is this one:

I know that it is made for Samsung Galaxy SIII, but how can that be a problem for Xperia Z?
Someone who is more "into this kind of stuff" maybe can tell me more and give me a technically explenation why it should work or not.
Thanks in advance
Trehjulingsleffe.

Check this out this is the original MHL cable from Sony
i think this will work for you... it dose not need any adapters and all waste stuff connect and enjoy with your TV remote itself...

MHL 3.0 usb 2.0 adapter?

Hi has anyone.
seen such adapter on sale? seems like only Mhl version 1 is to be found
I was wondering the same, so yesterday I've send Sony an e-mail. As soon as I have an answer I'll post it here.
I have the rocketfish RF-G1171 MHL Adapter and it works really well for me. I can play games on HD on my TV
I got a reply from Sony Mobile.
Sony has this MHL cable which should work with the Tablet Z3 compact: DLC-MC30 I paid 26 euros for it... I don't have it yet but I'll come back to confirm if it really works.
edit:
It does not work on my Samsung tv. I guess because a normal HDMI port does not give power to the phone. Too bad it doesn't work

Does it support TV out?

I have this USB-C adapter

Will it work with this phone?
I don't think MHL is supported.
Multiple sources claim: It does not.
Because sony don t want it.... I have a s8+ snapdragon 835 and there are mhl and fm radio... And sony dont activate this options in their phones

But it is. The question is whether this phone supports TV out, and a included picture of an adapter with HDMI output. It won't output anything without MHL support.
The official MHL website does not list the XZ1 Compact as a supported device, nor is MHL mentioned anywhere in Sony's documents.
The user guide only describes wireless output to TV via Miracast, which requires a Miracast-compatible TV or Miracast adapter for the TV.
Anybody get to try this yet?
Miracast seems to be the only option, but you'd need to buy a dongle
