Is there any non-EMUI rom where everything works (including Bluetooth LE)? - P8 Lite (2017) Discussion

Title says it all.
I've tested different versions of several ROMs (Lineage, crDroid, Omni, running either over Android 8 or 9) and I haven't been able to find a single ROM where Bluetooth LE (i.e: syncing to Mi Band / Amazfit Bip) works at all.
That's the reason I even tried with phh-Treble GSI (see my other thread).
Do you have any recommendation?
Thanks!

I use Bootleggers Rom 4.3 Android 9 and its damn stable,no issues all is working perfect,i use it with morfuz kernel, alle fine.

oreo roms on xiaomi remi 4x 2/16 [lags].

hello,
I have a 2/16 version of redmi 4x and on evry oreo rom i got lags on every one of them.
there is a big difference in using apps on 7.1 rom (for example - lineage 14.1, which is my daily driver) and on any 8.1 rom.
i've try to use different revoveries, different firmwares and ggaps - the effect is the same (for example: facebook app starts in like 10 sec. after clean recent apps; animations in fb messenger [minimize talk window] is very laggy, etc. etc].
is this happen because i have a 2/16 version? on 3/32 all works fine or what?
anyone with 2/16 is using oreo roms with success?

I'm using 2 GB model everything works fine for me on all Oreo ROMs I'd recommend you to use aex official rom
For some reason, some apps (like Facebook) are a little bit sluggish when scrolling. I guess it is a common problem right now.

fully compatible gsi rom

Hello all.
Im really tired of miui roms and i cant find a descent non miui custom rom for our device. I already tried havoc os gsi but notch is not detected and thats a problem for daily use.
Does anybody know what gsi works fully on our phone?
Resurection arrow octupos or?!
Or atleast a way for havoc os to detect notch?(i already tried the zip that someone posted in mod section but no result)
I think my question is the question of a lot of mi 8 se user.
Hi,
Havoc 2.0 has notch problem but havoc 2.2 is out now. Even its unofficial, you can try and report it here. If you want to wait for official, it will be out after march sevurity patches released.

GSI trebble roms VS roms from mix2 roms forum category?

hello, i have seen that our MIX2 is listed under supported phones
https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/wiki
more infos here:
https://www.xda-developers.com/flash-generic-system-image-project-treble-device/
anyone have tried those Pie gsi's? are they working with no bugs? what's the pros and cons?
And by using those GSI do it mean that you can use newer firmwares and hardware drivers then the ones shipped in our custom roms?
thanks !
In theory will the Mix 2 be able to tun GSIs. All it needs is at least a Oreo Vendor Partition and a Recovery who supports Treble (A/AB). I will test it this Week but i would wait for official Pie from Xiaomi to have a updated Pie Vendor Part which should solve many Problems (Like possible non working Hardware (NFC, Camera, Baseband etc.))
I've been using the unofficial Pixel Experience GSI for months. It's been way less buggy than any device-specific ROM - would definitely recommend.

Have you or anyone else booted a Android 10 GSI on Chiron? I've had no luck and tried 58 different things. Guessing we need a different boot and vendor than we used on Pie maybe..? Idk I see mix 2 isn't oem supported. I'm dying to boot DerpFest. Found a Aonly 64bit GSI over on telegram about a week ago. I sure hope we will be able to use 10 GSIs. Would be great!

Searching for a custom rom

I'm searching for some custom ROM for my Xiaomi mi 9 lite with good optimization and better functions than MIUI 12 have. So far I was thinking between Evolution X and Bliss ROM but I would like something more pixel-like. I know that there is the Pixel experience ROM but for this model of phone there is only fan version of it and from past, I don't have good experience installing unofficial ROMs, the same goes for LineageOS.
I would also like to use Netflix, mobile bank, and these things so functional safetynet would be big plus. I am willing to "hack" it through Magisk. I am also fine with installing google apps through sideloading them from open gapps.
Thanks for all help and tips.

Hello ValiantFan771. I have a question, what version of Android do you want on your device? I ask you this because I have many custom ROMs from Android 10 to Android 12.

I'm quite suprised ther isn't any for the S21. It's the first device I've had for many years that have not had a custom rom available.

To be precise, there is no need for custom ROMs because of GSIs and Treble-Support.
There is LineageOS, Pixel Experience and many others to choose from. I'm daily driving PE currently.

There is documentation on https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/wiki. PE is not officially supported, but there are PE GSI Roms maintained by others and because these are GSIs, they basically don't really need official support.

Is fingerprint sensor working fine in PE GSI?
How about reverse wireless charging (wireless power share) function?

Fingerprint sensor worked fine, but I haven't used/tested reverse charging. I think reverse charging is dependant on the circuit and not software, but I'm not sure.
I'm currently on a Pixel 7, so I can't test it anymore.
