hi, guys, i have a big question, i am really confused.
i already have one gooapple v5 3g, it is a Chinese iphone, very good quality, but i heard there is new phone very much like gooapple v5 3g, but with mtk6575, and i know it is goophone y5, but when i decide to buy this phone, i find the other phone, the same as this goophone y5, named godphone 4s, then the tragedy happens, i found the third phone, mtk6575, and retina display, named Sophone V75.

maybe you haven't find a good supplier,i bought a SK S170 1.5Ghz Dual core Android phone from china and the quality is nice have used for more than 4month it is still wonderfull.
i bought a sophone v75...nice, smooth and fast....now i need to find out how to root it and take the chinese apps away !!!

Just wondering if you had any luck. I have also bought a Sophone V75. Nice phone but the Chinese apps killing me. Also lack of a back button. Am I missing something here?

Google meizu mx. Its already rooted thanks to xda. Its eats all those fake iPhones. Retina display. 4 inches. And something called responsive light notification.

My Mi Note 5 pretty much died after I was using it in the rain, so I was thinking about getting the mi 9. So I wanted to ask if this phone will work in EU, will I be able to get the global ROM in it (I kinda started to like miui), I read something about the L1 and L3, does it affect me in any way? Other than watching full HD netflix. I'm leaving china in 3 months, so I would like to use all the Google services again

Depends which part of the world you are, I'm in UK, bought the 8gb Chinese rom mi9, my 4g never worked, couldn't unlock bootloader cos had to wait 360 hours and was not sure even after installing global rom my 4g will work or not so returned it. Bought the 6gb one with global rom and the 4g working on it, some Chinese guys are selling with bootloader unlocked 8gb ones and they install global rom before sending phone to you, with regards to watching HD content, I always install "vanced YouTube" on my phones, it installs VP9 codec my videos play in 4k on my mi9 and huawei mate 20 Pro, also no ads on this YouTube and background playback enabled by default, do a Google search on vanced YouTube, hope this helps, cheers

I'm under the impression from what I have read and been told that unlocking the bootloader and installing a global rom sorts the bands for compatibility globally, the global rom changes the radio firmware? cheers
Nope, flashing roms should not affect the bands, it is not related.

Thanks for your reply, I'm from Czech Republic, I don't know whether I should trust this website, but Vodafone in UK has the same bands as T-Mobile in CZE, so I'm wondering which operator are you using for a comparison. frequencycheck dot com carriers/vodafone-united-kingdom

Moreover do u know if Asus will update rog Phone for a while or only since next rog? And will i found good ROM?

For those that he fully converted tencent phones - can you see content when you go to armoury Crate and choose "news" and "features"? So does download settings on the game profiles..
I see content for a brief moment and then goes blank and says network problem!! There is no problem with my connection tho!
Is this because were tencent versions? Shouldnt the tencent one shave armoury crate as well? What gives?

Thanks, will try to vpn and see if it works. Im refering to the news and features sections only, other functions are finee. opens up content then suddenly blanks and says network issue.
Hardcore tuning option yes. Nothing wrong with wanting to utilize this feature. I run games that stutter still and want to see if manually adjusting makes it smoother.

Btw, which game is stuttering for you?
If its a cpu demanding game like dota underlords, you wont be able to get much better performance
Those kinds of games tend to stutter even on highend desktop cpus

Thanks. Playing world of dragon nest; had to make adjustments to get 120fps, as 60 fps lock shows stutters for me

Wanted to ask you about it.. Already found a video about how to convert it on youtube but since converting isn't an official thing and it's my first time doin it, I'm not sure about it.. If I fully convert it and everything goes allright, Is it possible if I encounter update problems or anything like that in the future? (I know FOTA won't work after convert, I'm talkin about the manual ones) btw I would really appreciate it if u contact me on IG or sth so I can ask u about this..thanks ?? IG : M_Mccurty

I don't own rog 3, but I'm guessing, as soon as you unlock bootloader you'll invalidate your warranty. Your imei gets passed on to Asus during unlock. Other than that, I doubt they'll be any issue

I'm aware of that but the thing is my phone doesn't have warranty?in Iran There isn't any official ASUS phones seller so no warranty here

I meant any warranty you had with place of purchase ie China company... ? (with warranty you would send back to China based seller, not Asus centre)

apologies if this has been asked to death. I have found some conflicting info around the web.
I have a few questions regarding the Tencent version of the Rog 3 (8/128 GB strix). As you know most of the ones available on ebay are Tencent versions with global rom installed. Here are my questions:
1) Do they receive ota updates? Do you need to change fingerprint to get ota?
2) Do apps like netflix, google pay and banking apps work? I saw a post from a US person who said their banking apps worked on the Chinese rom version.
There are few international versions available on ebay but the price difference is huge! I don't mind having to flash roms etc if it is possible to get either ota working or I can download updates from Asus site and manually update and also if it gets banking apps/google pay working. Has anyone had experience with these issues?
I live in the UK btw.
Update 30/09/2020:
So, I have finally got my hands on the phone (12/128 Tencent version with WW) and here are a few thoughts:
1) OTA does not work but I have managed to download and install latest update (78 I think). Fairly easy process and so is not an issue.
2) Google pay, bank app and Netflix work fine.
3) I had to manually enter APN for Virgin Mobile to get internet access.
4) 4G speeds seem much slower. Maybe due to fewer bands supported by the Chinese version. Will test it out in more locations and networks later. If I continue getting poor 4G speeds I might return the phone.
5) Black crush is a problem. Dark scenes in videos are not great to watch. I hope they can fix this.
6) Camera is OK at best. Coming from Pixel 4XL I can notice a big difference. Gcam works ok. Slightly improves image quality.
Will update again after I've used it for a few days.

The fingerprint works fine, as well as google pay and all my banking apps (natwest, nationwide and paypal).
What I understand however is it depends on how they set the device up before sell - mine was converted properly i guess as it hasn't given me any issues with updating and downloading banking apps, the 144hz works as well as finger print. It takes WW firmwares without any problems.

To be honest, nope - its been working great. I upgraded from my Oppo reno 10x zoom.
pubg low settings at 90hz it doesnt get warm or even hot. Battery life has been great! I just wished it had wifi calling or volte but thats a Asus and UK issue...

Don't purchase tencent version with global rom..the sellers will unlock bootloader flash global rom and relock bootloader...
Asus only let you unlock bootloader one time...so who purchase those tencent global gonna be stuck until forever and ever lol or some Dev figure out to unlock from another method.

i have the rog phone 3 strix edition with 128 gb rom and 12 gb ram with sd865. I live in saudi and the phone i got was flashed to global rom, yes no ota updates but manual update is easy to do and i have no problem. My carrier has no problems but its a 5g capable phone but i have a 4g plan xd. Netflix works fine as well as everything else, when you flash you basically have the international phone version, no bloatware or chinese apps anymore and playsTore is fantasic as on a samsung note 20. There is one problem for me, that is when i put my brightness low the screen refresh rate becomes 60 fps, nothing that i do can fix this i am on latest version 2007.58 ive heard other people have same problem-any solutions?
Latest version is 70 not 58 and it fix the problem. Wait for it to be uploaded to Asus website.

Someone already posted the download link for it on the forum - I downloaded it and installed it over a week ago, does fix the 60hz only at low brightness
