Home screen - Sony Xperia 1 II Questions & Answers

Hello,
Is there any way to change the home screen from the first page to a second or third? I can't seem to find it and maybe there is a way, I think maybe not, but still, maybe... I cannot add something from the left, that I know.
Thank you.

If you go to Settings, there's a screen-related function in the second tab (don't have my phone with me so can't remember the exact name)... click on that and there's an option to align your screen
you also can try this:

thanks guys!
Start/Settings/System Tab/Screen/Align Screen
I've found that the lighter I tap while aligning the screen, the better TF3D seems to work. Try gently touching the screen with your stylus for about 1/8 of a second instead of pecking at the screen.

About the Homescreen?

Ok so on our homescreen we have pages 3,5,7 whatever but what I wanted to know if it was possible for a dev to make it fluent so it would not rest on 1 specific page but we could scroll through 1 long homescreen left to right idk just thought it would be a good implementation. leave a comment on what you think, if I you dont understand let me know i'll try to explain it better

I am not sure if thats a good idea, Most widgets lock into the sides of the screen, meaning if you have it "fluent" then have the widget will not show on one screen and it will be harder to make it lock to view it correctly.
Is it possible?
True but we would have to make them snap to a certain part of the "grid" of the homescreen it would be so sick to be able to slide the screen back and fourth as a wide single page instead of multipages it seems easy in theory but then again Im no software coder.

How to set Home Screen?

Hi:
I am brand new to Captivate (from a Tilt 2), so am exploring Android. So far I am in love with it.
I have searched, and can't seem to find how to set the Home screen. What I mean is, I found how to edit screens (add, remove). But, for some reason the Home button always takes me to the screen farthest to the right. I would like for it to take me to the center screen. How do I do this?
Thanks!
I think on TouchWiz, if you only have 3 homescreens created, the default will be the one on the far right. If you create more homescreens (say 7), it will be the one in the middle. Try adding more homescreens to the right of the one that is defaulted for you right now. Then once you get the one in middle as your default, you can delete the ones to the far left and right if you don't want all 7 screens. Hope this makes sense.
The default is the one with the little home icon at the bottom. You can put it anywhere

Hi:
WD33- Thanks so much. I tried that. I have added and subtracted a million screens, but there seems to be no rhyme or or reason (sometimes it's the farthest one to the left, sometimes it's the second to last etc), and I can't seem to get the middle one as home.
Dani:
Thanks for your reply. I don't see the little home icon. You do mean in the edit screen to edit tabs, right?
Thanks again to both of you!
EDIT: Well, after much trial and error, I had to go back to the original 7 screen layout in order to get the center screen to be home.

[Q] Re Arranging Home screens

Every time I add an additional home screen it goes to the far right,
I can't seem to move it to another position say far left.
I have tried going into the widget bit long holding the screen I want to move and dragging it, but it doesn't work, only way to do it would be to move all the widgets across one by one.
Any help would be great,
Aaron

the only way is make a new screen the home screen so if you want one screen on the left and 2 on the right make the 2nd screen the home screen or the last screen the home screen
i hope that makes sense

HTC One KitKat Sense 6 Lockscreen Bug

Hi,
I updated my HTC One today with Sense 6. Only two things are bothering me so far. First the far too big space between the homescreenicons and the dock, but this is a known bug and not really a big deal for me. But the second one is kinda strange and it seems that it didn't happen to anybody else than me. The problem is with the new lockscreen feature. You can swipe up to unlock normal, swipe right for blinkfeed and swipe left for the selected homescreen. But now something strange happens, when I swipe left. I expect to see the homescreen but it goes always to the most left page beside blinkfeed. I tried everything, rearranging, set other pages as homescreen, removing and adding blinkfeed, but neither of them worked. Strangely the homescreenbutton works as usual and jumps to the right page.
I would really appreciate some help or maybe even a reproduction of this bug.
Thanks for any help provided,
SkryptX
PS: Sorry for any grammatical flaws or mistakes
Does nobody have any idea for this problem?
I updated to Sense 6 today and am having the same two issues.
Seems like there is a huge a waste of space on the home screen where they now have a few dots just to show which page you are on and then disappear to leave an empty void. Kinda ruins the whole aesthetic for me. Also I have my screens set up so the middle page is my home screen with an extra one either side of it. Swiping left on the lock screen always takes me to the left hand page, not my default one.
Both not huge things, just annoyances really, but would still like a fix.

you can use the Xposed framework + Sense 6 toolbox to reduce the gap between icons and the launcher bar or even add another row of icon (5x4 instead of (4x4). The Xposed framework require root access.

And for the unlock issue, I can confirm its the same for me, doesn't bother me as my home screen is the one beside Blinkfeed. Maybe there is also a xposed module to correct that bug.
Sadly I don't want to root my phone already... So there is most likely no way to solve this problem?
But I'll write HTC and ask them if they will release a fix. This is a damn basic function and this can't be so hard to fix this. I don't even know how they managed to overlook such an obvious bug...

just wait for an update, or use the screen next to blinkfeed as your homescreen.

well there are thousand of things to check when releasing an update, its quite easy to miss such a minor bug. And this is not so obvious, I did not realized it myself before trying it after I saw this thread.
