Lens Cover on back of Note 4 Broke! See 16MP Sensor

The lens cover of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is not made of sapphire, so it EASILY breaks!
This happened to my Note 4 (Duos version) and I ended up taking out the whole camera module so I can see the 16MegaPixel sensor.
Ended up filming it so if you are interested in seeing it look at the video!
I was also able to replace the whole lens module for about 70 dollars (US), and it works again.

would you buy a p30 pro

Hi all,
as the title says would you buy a p30pro today?
i live in canada and im looking for a phone to replace my s10 (i hate it) mostly because of the curved display. i'm forever opening settings or other apps from touching the edges while putting it in my pocket or lifting it up. even useing edge software does not help as now some app/game options cant be used as the edges are not active.
anyways i'm more asking about the us band and do you feel huawei long term (or current) use will be affected?

I have the P30 and wanted to swap it for an S10
S9 had the same problem with the curved screen, just buy a case (Spigen rugged armour) is nice and thin and fixes that problem entirely
Tnx for the tip.
I don't use cases. Just a skin in the back, I don't like bulky things in my pocket.
Guess I'm just picky.
Do you mention you want to trade or you already traded?

I would trade face to face but not online and unfortunately I'm in the UK too
Been with Samsung since the S5 and really made a huge mistake switching to Huawei, should have gone for the S10
Those Spigen cases are more like rubber skins tbh, they only add a couple mm to the thickness and have a slightly raised lip around the edge of the screen to make it impossible for it to land on the screen itself
the p30pro has a curved screen just like the s10..
i bought mine after the *ban* however the p30 line is not affected by it, emui 10 is coming soon and all in all its a great phone...
my only complaint is with the inscreen fingerprint scanner which seems to almost never work for me ( i dont use screen protector)
I sold my S10 plus and bought the p30 pro. Well I'm very happy. Especially p30 pro camera was much better than the s10 plus when I saw it and took few pictures to compare them... Even my brother with note 9 is thinking selling his for the mate 30 pro.
Wow curved screen. That sucks.
Now I have no clue what phone to get.

General Pink Tint Issue on S21U

Looks the S21 has it's first big issue. Pink hues when looking at it even from a slight angle.
issue discussed at 12:59
I have all three devices. No tinting issues as far as I can see on any of them. Guessing something was wrong with his demo unit.
Okay, that's encouraging. Thanks for your feedback.
i comfirm pink tint issues. i get new one s21 ultra to day and go crazy because of this bloblem. demo device at store have this too. I will return it maybe. so sad. sorry for my bad english.
Could be down to display mode being on Vivid?
Not sure if he's using that or natural?

Only when you look at the screen from an angle, right? No pink tint when you look straight on?

Add to that under what light source if any are you viewing it?
Does it happen on all display frequencies?
View under incandescent, sunlight backlighted or in a dark room.

Yes. Just slightly tilt it and the pink tint appear. S21 and S21 plus no problem. Just S21 ultra, due to it’s 2k 120hz panel i think. No problem with S21 and s21+ Full hd+ panel.

That's bizarre. May be a firmware issue for that variant or just a bad batch.
So much for Samsung QC...
Sounds like the red gamma is off.
Looks to me like a rainbow effect on mine as I can see other colours in the band when i move the phone - its probably just the screen protector IMO
what is the software version on your s21? (settings - about - software info - last 3 baseband)
i have AUA3, and dont have any pink tint...
Pretty sure this is going to be a hardware flaw present in ALL S21 Ultra models and is either due to LTPO display they are using or the Victus glass. Note 20 Ultra has a similar problem where you get dirty whites when compared to Note 20 which has perfect whites.
Software version AUA3 here. Pink tint very noticeable. US version.
Same. I'm really disappointed. Got an Tab S7+, Tab S7, Watch3, and Buds Pro with the S21 Ultra 512GB... came to $1728 after tax and trading in my s20 ultra with combo savings.
Only thing keeping me from sending the S21 Ultra back right now.

Other than that, the screen is amazing! I hope a future firmware update resolves the issue.
Got my s21 ultra today and there's a slight pink tint but it doesn't bother me, in fact I find it's much much better than my OnePlus 8pro which is a mess Have a look at the difference... The s21 ultra looks better in real life but the green tint on the 8pro is very visible in the dark. I had two and I sent the first back because of the green tint and the 2nd was exactly the same. I find the ultra display ahead of the 8pro.
Really makes you think about reviewer integrity. I watched 6 reviews before pre-ordering, all of them raved about the camera and display, but never mentioned the color shift off axis.
The S20 Ultra screen is fabulous and noticeably better. Never noticed any color shift. Instantly noticed it on the S21 Ultra.

Question Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra power leak?

Whenever I am fast charging my S21 Ultra I am experiencing a weird almost vibrating feeling when softly rubbing my finger over the back camera bump. The feeling isn't there when the phone isn't charging. May I get some feedback whether or not others are experiencing the same? I tried a voltmeter and it shows about 0.3 V on the camera bump when charging
That's too low a voltage to percieve unless you got shark skin.
Probably it's the vibration you're feeling is the voltage converter.

Fast switching power converter. It's regulaing some major current flow when fast charging.
Inductive coils are commonly found in these power converters; that's probably what you feel.

Best thing to do; they're reliable, cheap and will work over a very wide input voltage range. Both my Samsung chargers/cables are still working after 1/2 years.

Question Broken "REAR DISPLAY"

Hi,
It seems I have a very peculiar problem at hand as there is absolutely no info about it anywhere. I happened to drop my Mi 11 Ultra from about 6 feet height and it landed with a thud with the display facing down. Luckily the display survived. No crack, no damage nothing but then came the shocker. Somehow the rear display has cracked. The glass protecting the camera lenses and the rear display itself is fine but the rear display has a few cracks and it has become dead.
I quickly checked the rest of the phone, everything's just fine. Now I did not think that replacing the rear view display would be such a big problem but when I contacted Mi Customer care via Online chat, they said that the rear display can't be replaced in India!
I saw a couple of teardown videos of the Mi 11 Ultra and it seems that the display is molded/sealed or embedded into the ceramic back. So technically it seems to look like as if replacing the ceramic back means the rear display will by default come with it.
Can anyone please confirm this? Mi Customer Care seems to be useless. Need your input guys. I will be really grateful. Thanks!
