Strange sms notifications

Hi to all,
as you know, when new sms is received on Topaz and the screen is not active, green led starts blinking. That usually happens as well on my device, but sometimes there is no sound neither blinking when message is received.
But when I activate the device, the notification of new message appears. The problem is that the message is usually hour or even more older. Anyone has the same problem? Or is it just me?
The blinking light will stop after 5 min, by default. I changed mine to flash indefinitely.
1. Go to Settings - Sounds & Notifications - Notifications
2. Select Messaging: New text message
3. For the "Flash light for ..." option, change it to "No limit"
Message received sound notification
I have the same problem when it comes to playing the message received sound notification when my phone is locked. When I receive messages I can only see the blinking light notification then after I unlock the phone the sound plays. Its really annoying. Does anyone have a solution?
same here. But not always. I think it happens when the device is not locked and the screen is in stand-by
common issue...ROM issue!!! hopefully it will be fixed with the next ROM release
Yes I'm getting this to, it seems to be intermittent... And its annoying...
I picked it up yesterday off the table turned it on and Yep the SMS sound notified me and said it had a new sms and the green led started blinking, its like it goes into some sort of sleep mode and when you pick it up to turn it on, it then lets you know you have a message..... I hope there's fix for this soon..

Hi
I had this issue and fixed it.
I used Advanced Config and under the power settings changed 'Battery resuming from suspend timeout' changed this from 1 second to 10 seconds.
The problem is the device wakes up, often gets enough time to signal the LED to flash but the device suspends again too quickly for the sound to play.
Regards
Phil

The problem is that the device even does not start blinking. So it behaves like there is no new message until you press power off button and the screen becomes active. Not sure whether we are talking about the same problem

A few remaining issues... Need Help

After running Android for a couple of weeks on NAND, I've noticed a common problem among Myn's and Plemen's Android builds using the latest dzo's nbh files. I don't know if it is related to what I'm doing but the auto sync functionality of google (including gmail, calendar, and contacts) is very flaky and I get an odd reboot problem.
Since I usually use the phone as my primary wake up alarm in the morning, I never turn it off. Instead, before i go to bed, I put the phone into airplane mode and plug it in to charge. What I've noticed in the two weeks is that more often than not, the phone reboots itself sometime during the night. I noticed this because several times, the single plus double vibrate on startup wakes me up. Other times, I wake up and the screen is on (I've set it to never sleep when plugged in). It's not all that major as long as the alarm rings at the proper time.
Then, as I get ready to go to work, I turn airplane mode off. When I get to work I see that the phone says I have no email. I thought that was odd because I usually have a bunch by 9am. So I logged into gmail on the computer to find that I have 10 unread emails that all arrived while on my way to work (between 8:30am and 9am). So I went into the data sync options to check when it was last synced and it says 8:05am (the time I turned airplane mode off). So the next thing I did was send a test email to my gmail account. No notification after 2 minutes. So I decided to reboot the phone. After it got to the main screen I could see the sync icon on the notification bar and about 30 seconds later, all 10 emails plus my test email got to the phone.
I'm not sure what is causing this problem, but I have a feeling it has to do with airplane mode.
I'll do some more testing to see if I can come up with a consistent way of reproducing this problem.
Update...
I've just done a quick test and need some confirmation from others that this problem exists:
1. Turn airplane mode on.
2. Reset the phone by pressing stylus into reset hole.
3. Wait for it to boot up.
4. Turn airplane mode off.
At this point, I went to check the last sync time in the data sync settings. It should say a time close to when you booted up.
5. Now send a test email from your computer to your gmail account.
Your phone should never notify you of the new email.
6. Now reboot phone again using the stylus method and wait for phone to boot. Your emails should arrive on the phone automatically.
7. Now send another test email from your computer to your gmail account. You should be notified within a minute.

[Q] Bell SGS so slow its impossible to use!

Hey,
I have a Bell SGS, totally stock. It's suddenly become incredibly slow.
I haven't installed any new apps recently, or changed any settings.
When I press an icon, any icon here is what happens:
- I put my finger on the icon and let go, nothing happens for 2 seconds.
- The icon goes 'dark' like it is being depressed, stays that way for about 3 seconds
- The icon finally gets 'clicked' and I get the 'ding' sound
- The screen goes black with only status bar for about 5 seconds
- finally the app will show up, but if I press anything, it is unresponsive
- the app will become responsive after about 5 more seconds
- If I click a text box (like in stock messaging app), it freezes for another 4-5 seconds, the keyboard doesn't come up
- Finally the keyboard will come up.
ALSO:
- The phone app takes ages to launch.
- Anytime there is a screen to scroll, the scrolling is unresponsive for the first few seconds, its painful
- pressing the home button takes ages to bring me to home screen
- Often the phone just locks up and I can't turn the screen on, have to do a battery pull (once a day or so), I can't figure out what is causing it.
There are no apps running while this is happening, I looked at all running processes and everything seems normal, nothing hogging CPU.
Reboots don't fix it, it comes back just as slow
All the haptic feedback is way late, sometimes the little buzzes get queued up, so it wont do anything, then all of a sudden it will buzz 10 times in a row as it catches up with the button presses
Samsung email (which I use because I like how it handles multiple accounts) is the slowest program in the phone. When it loads up, I click on one of my accounts, it takes literally 30 seconds to load the messages. Then I still can't scroll for another 10 seconds, its agonizing. Switch to the other account? Another 30 seconds. Both accounts are set to keep emails from the last 14 days (not that much).
So, what the hell is going on? I took it to the Bell store, and even with the stupid warranty, they said "well, its still working, so theres nothing we can do"

[Q] Alarm Glitch

Anyone notice that sometimes if you set an alarm, it will glitch, and if you press snooze, it will randomly set off again, but with two alarms, slightly offset?
Trying to figure out how to explain it. I'll press snooze, then randomly within the next ten minutes itll go off. But one alarm won't go off, itll be two. On will start, then another will follow within a fraction of a second, and both will play.

Never seen [heard] this, but I only have one alarm set at a time. What times are your alarms set for?
I have something similar to this going on...
I have 3 Alarms Set for every weekday.
4:25PM, 6:25PM and 8:55PM these are my breaktimes at work and if I don't have an alarm I tend to work through my breaks which the union gets their panties in a bunch about.
So my issue is that the 4:25 Alarm goes off 3-5 times at once. As if the alarm is duplicated, I have cleared out all alarms rebooted the phone re-created the alarms and this is still happening. running 8107 on my Focus S this never happened on my SGH-i917.... wierd bug. I have to hit "Dismiss" like 10 times to get the alarm to shut off.

[Help] Internet Timeout

I'm not sure exactly when this started but I'd say within the last month. When the phone is on idle (screen black), the internet is being timed-out.
Example 1: I leave my phone on the desk and I haven't gotten any messages on say WhatsApp / Messenger. When I press the power button to unlock the phone, I can have like 10+ messages coming.
Example 2: I'm again having the phone on the desk but I'm in a WhatsApp call, suddenly the call drops and tries to reconnect, as if someone lost connection. The moment I press my power button the call comes back (so it's obviously on my end). Happens with multiple people as well.
Any ideas what could be causing this? I'd say it happens after about 30min or so of "idle time" but I haven't properly timed it.
Latest Firmware and Android 10, if that's important.
I did some obervation today. It seems the timeout happens exactly after 15 min, on the second. Was in a call and the first was 15:15 into the call and the second was at 30:30.
