Remove suggestions from app drawer search? - Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro Questions & Answe

Hey guys,
I got a quick question, is there any way I can remove the app/website suggestions (pretty much ads) when you search for something on the app drawer? I have disabled all the ads except these, I have googled a lot and can't seem to find a solution. I am not rooted and on MiUI 12 stock.

[Q] App Vault ? (For 2.2 rooted users)

I can't seem to find any recent version of App Vault (for root users).. and the dates on the most recent are from July so I doubt they would work on FroYo.
This week I updated to FroYo and rooted. Now I'm looking for App Vault or something similar.
Not only do I like the password protection feature, I love the idea of being able to hide the fact that those apps are even on the phone. In otherwords, I'd like an app that requires opening and entering the password to access "hidden" apps. So if the app is protected it is also hidden from the app drawer.
Can anybody help me out with this?
Thanks in advanced!
EDIT: Better yet, if you could select which of the password protected apps are hidden, that would be the ultimate! And I'd sure as hell pay a bit more for this kind of app.
Your old app vault should work with 2.2, froyo is backward compatible

I haven't used it before, but thanks for letting me know!
One more question.. I have been trying the trial versions of a few apps and realized something... I only want my apps locked when I am done using my phone, or if I give the phone to somebody else...
It get's annoying entering a password every time i go into any of these apps, especially when going back and forth between like messaging while in settings or managing apps etc..
Is there a lock type app that will lock certain apps with a widget? then when unlocked stays unlocked until I lock them again?

[Q] how do i find my newly installed apps beside searching?

tried searching for this but couldnt it so pls bear with me...
I just autonootered my nc last night and installed my paid apps from google. How do i find these apps besides searching for them? I noticed that I can't make folders or find the icons to drop on the home screen. Thanks in advance.
If you didn't already, try installing a launcher app like ADW launcher or Zeam. That should allow you to do what you want. Otherwise, if you reboot, you should see your apps show up under the Extras section.

thanks a million.. figured it had to be something simple lol

[Q] Not acceptable

Not quite sure what is responsible, but it seems an app that I've installed is placing ****ty ad links into my bloody status bar.
Has anyone else come across this? And is there any way I can find out which app is causing it?
yep
Check for an app call airpush detection its free in the market. Those ads come from a app you download for free in the market, they have spam ads attached to them. The app that was causing the problem for me was music download. These spam ads are also putting search widgets on your home screen. Just google air push ads to get more info on it.
Nice one, cheers mate. I'm all for devs putting some adds into their apps, but pushing them to my status bar when the app isn't even running? that's going too far.
Turns out it was a golauncher theme.
Also not acceptable,

"Top Offers" app

Hi,
I recently installed an app, don't know which one, but I keep getting a notification of "Top Offers", mainly for a battery doubling app. I've deleted the app from the desktop, but can't find it anywhere else.
How do I remove it completely.
Thanks in advance.

A good idea is to download Air Push Detector from the market it will tell you which app is giving you the air spam
Thanks to you both...
Found an app in Manage Applications called 'Ad-Serve' which I removed...didn't notice it before because I was looking for "Top Offers".
Installed 'Air Push Detector' and found "SkeeBall 3D" was always active, so uninstalled that.
Thanks again...
Top Offers
I, too have the Top Offers ad problem, however I did not find anything in my applications manager that looked suspicious. Any other guidance as to how to get rid of it?

Install 'Air Push Detector' from the market. Run it and see what programs are running. Uninstall any that look unfamiliar or look like the culprit.
It worked for me.
Thanks to lufc for the original help.

got it sorted, was able restore the default by installing Oppo shelf v13.4.15 from APK mirror and then uninstalling updates, sadly no way to disable able quick glance and still have shelf active.
It's also available on playstore, I got it from there

Use a different launcher is the easiest way. You can still use shelf and have no Google feed using nova prime.

true but the delay when trying to pull recents is annoying and fluid navigation gestures doesn't work sadly.
